There was an article in a Finnish tabloid about Finnish names that sound funny or weird in Spanish. I took a look at Finnish names from a Hindi perspective and found some, maybe not funny but interesting ones:

Anja [anya] (f) - pronounced precisely just as अन्य, other, different. (Sidenote: anya means mother in Hungarian)

Esa [esa] (m) and Vesa [vesa] (m) are not pronounced exactly as ऐसा, this kind, and वैसा, that kind, but I used to find lines like "ऐसा या वैसा" hilarious as to my unhoned ears it sounded pretty same as "Esa and Vesa" since ja [ya] in Finnish means and.

When written, Finnish names Jaana [yāna] (f) and Kaisa [kaisa] (f) seem familiar and resemble जाना, to go, and कैसा, how, but they are pronounced quite differently as in Finnish there is no ज-sound or ऐ-sound (consecutive a and i are pronounced as a diphthong in Finnish).

As opposed to most vowel-ending Hindi nouns, most Finnish nouns usually end in a short vowel sound. The following Finnish names resemble Hindi words, but the final vowel is short:

Lassi [lassi] (m) - I actually found it funny to first discover that there is a mango drink whose name sounds almost just like the name of a boy from my primary school class, लस्सी, lassi (with long ī). Leena [lēna] (f) - लेना, to take. Meeri [mēri] (f) - मेरी, my, mine. Kai [kai] (m) - कई, many - (again the Finnish ai is a diphthong). Saara [sāra] (f) - सारा, all, whole, entire.

The final two Finnish names make up short instructions or commands in Hindi:

Kaarlo [kārlo] (m) - कार लो, take the car! Kalle [kalle] (m) - कल ले, take tomorrow/yesterday!

What do Finnish names mean? Most of them are just Biblical and otherwise old traditional European names transformed to fit Finnish mouths so their meaning is very much lost in history. Vesa is a nature-related name meaning a young sprout of a tree, and Meeri is a variant of Meri, which means sea or ocean.

Morning Breakfast: खाली पेट (Empty Stomach) दूध का सेवन करना जितना अच्छा होता है, दही, छाछ और लस्सी (Milk Products) उतनी ही आपके लिए हानिकारक साबित हो सकती हैं. जैसा कि आप जानते हैं कि ये तीनों ही हेल्दी फूड्स (Health Foods) हैं और शरीर को बहुत अधिक पोषण देते हैं, लेकिन जब आप इनका सेवन सुबह एकदम खाली पेट कर लेते हैं तो ये आपके लिए दिक्कतें खड़ी कर सकती हैं.

दही (Curd) बहुत पौष्टिक होती है और हम सभी नाश्ते में दही खाना पसंद करते हैं. नाश्ते (Morning Breakfast) में दही खाना गलत नहीं है. लेकिन सिर्फ दही खाना सही नहीं है. ऐसा करने से आपका बीपी तुरंत लो (Cause of Low BP) हो सकता है और आपको बेहोशी जैसी नींद आ सकती है. इतनी तेज नींद कि दिमाग काम करना बंद कर दे और बिस्तर के अलावा कुछ और दिखाई ही ना दे. आइए जानते हैं ऐसा क्यों होता है.

खाली पेट क्यों न खाएं दही और छाछ?

दही, लस्सी और छाछ (Milk Products) तीनों की तासीर ठंडी होती है और सुबह के समय (Morning Breakfast) जठराग्नि बहुत तेज होती है. जठराग्नि या पाचकाग्नि शरीर की उस ऊर्जा को कहते हैं, जो भूख बढ़ाने और भोजन को पचाने का काम करती है. इसे आप डायजेस्टिव फायर (Digestive fire) के रूप में भी समझ सकते हैं. क्योंकि सुबह के समय डायजेस्टिव फायर बहुत तेजी होती है.

ऐसे में जब आप खाली पेट इन शीतल प्रकृति के भोज्य पदार्थों का सेवन करते हैं तो ब्ल्ड प्रेशर (BP) तेजी से कम की समस्या हो सकती है या फिर आपको इनका सेवन करते ही बहुत तेज नींद आ सकती है, बिल्कुल ऐसे जैसे आपने कोई नशीला पदार्थ ले लिया हो. इसलिए दिन की शुरुआत (Morning Breakfast) में इन फूड्स का सेवन ना करें.

दही खाने का सही नियम

आयुर्वेद के अनुसार, सफेद दही (Curd) का सेवन भोजन के साथ भी नहीं करना चाहिए. दही के साथ चपाती खाने का हमारे यहां जो ट्रेंड है वो लाल दही के साथ है. क्योंकि लाल दही कढ़े हुए दूध से तैयार की जाती है. वो दूध जो 20 से 24 घंटे तक मिट्टी के बर्तन में कंडों की आंच पर पककर तैयार होता है.

इतना कढ़ने के बाद जब इस दूध से दही तैयार की जाती है तो वो सफेद दही से कहीं अधिक पौष्टिक होती है और उसे चपाती के साथ खाने पर शरीर को नुकसान नहीं होता. जबकि सफेद दही को भोजन के साथ खाना आयुर्वेद में वर्जित माना गया है. आप इस दही का सेवन दोपहर में स्नैक्स टाइम में कर सकते हैं.
