Felix estaba feliz solo de verles felices a todos. Habían elegido un sitio de confianza, donde sabían que no tendrían problemas, especialmente Felix, y donde además la mayoría de los presentes era gente del mundillo y se tomaban muy en serio la privacidad de sus clientes, así que no estaban muy preocupados por hacer el ridículo.

Felix se había arreglado más de lo que jamás lo había hecho, quizás por un repentino empujón de autoestima o porque tenía un plan esa noche. Desde el accidente en el aeropuerto su relación con Hyunjin había sido un constante tira y afloja, unos días volvía a ser normal, otros volvían a estar distantes y él ya estaba cansado, cansado de las dudas y de no saber qué pasaba así que esa noche se acababa todo, aprovecharía el ambiente festivo de esa noche para hablar con él y ser sincero, en todos los aspectos y a la mierda con las consecuencias. Sin embargo para conseguirlo aun necesitaba un par de copas más que le dieran valentía.

they say fear doesn't shut you down, no - it wakes you up.

but lev felt like he was still asleep, his body moving with only the greatest effort - onto his pegasus after helping nico on his & even when they returned home to camp, lev found his limbs heavy & his heart … his heart in a ricocheting frenzy. lev .. could swear he was still asleep, his dreams swaying left & right, from wishful thinking to nightmares & then nico's sunken-in face flashed before his eyes again. fuck. he'd never be able to unsee that. it wasn't until the moment nico collapsed by his feet, with no pulse & no heartbeat - dead & broken, like a lifeless doll … it wasn't until then that lev understood the truth.

it wasn't until then that he found himself frozen, his body no longer listening. fear does shut you down. fear shut lev down, at least. after dismissing the pegasi, the others slowly retreating to their own respective cabins - or wherever else they planned to go, lev was … still stood outside the stables, as was nico, who looked equally… that. they'd lost so many on recent missions, but regardless of that - of what it was they felt, they'd … had each other & now they'd had a taste of what it was like to lose that. well, lev did.

& lev was not a fan. heavy feet carry him towards the other, though they'd only been a few meters from each other to begin with - paranoia keeping lev on nico's ass for the unforeseeable future. fingers found a calloused hand, both of lev's hands wrapping around one of the blacksmith's. forehead against nico's, "we're goin' t'my cabin." southern drawl thick, his mind struggling to connect still, but one thing was clear. nico was not going to go home alone. "don't try talkin' back." voice calm, if … clearly tense, like lev was holding onto himself to control it. like he had more to say, but chose not to even though his tongue had already formed the words against his lips. tugging nico's hand, lev … was not going to be denied.
