"T-Thank you," Kylar blushes, averting their eyes shyly as you wrap your scarf around their neck. When your hands interlink with theirs, Kylar's breath audibly hitches. Their face blushes even hotter as you manipulate their hands to sit snug against your own. "I-I, um, forgot it was winter... I was b-busy doing other things s-so I didn't get a chance t-to check the weather o-or..."

Kylar trails off as they speak, visibly embarrassed. Their hands never relinquish their grip on your own, though.

"I think winter is my favourite season, t-though..." Kylar doesn't meet your eyes still, but their hands squeeze your own—like they're making sure you're real and that you're actually holding hands with them—their fingers and palms are freezing. You should probably buy them a pair of gloves.

Out of the corner of your eye, you watch Kylar nuzzle your scarf, inhaling the fabric and sighing dreamily at the thought of something you wear being on them.

This is the dumbest thing to complain about but it has been 103°F or more every day for a week and a half and like yes I got pretty badly heatsick but more importantly I can't run my lava lamps or light any candles???

#did not know how much my sense of self relied on the option to have either fire or tacky 70s novelty lamps in my home #until they became a heat source i cannot afford when my a/c is already struggling #but my lava lamps are what mark this space as completely MINE #and i've always set stuff on fire when i'm upset and candles are the only practical outlet for that in an apartment #i don't necessarily NEED either right now but just the fact that they're off limits is distressing #(40+ celcius)

being able to convert fahrenheit into celcius in my head so my aussie brain can understand what's happening

In a similar vein to my last post, a thought just struck me.

(CW: Mention of suicide. I’m fine, nobody’s planning on it, to my knowledge, it’s just a thought)

I always thought that if I were to kill myself, it would probably be due to gender-dysphoria, and generally being unable to function the way society want me to, no matter how hard I try.

Now however, faced with a really warm summer (and they will only get warmer. Thanks global warming), and the fact that I just loose any ability to do anything at all in heat (I’m like a computer that needs to be super-cooled). I’m starting to wonder if I’ll kill myself to avoid even worse summers.

Either that, or I’ll die from heatstroke without my thoughts on the matter mattering.
