reading any s.tranger things fic that takes place pre-season 1 can be such a trip bc like, most fics i read are steve/s.teddie centric so most of my focus is on that but every once in a while i take a second to just think & think abt how while the events of the fic are going on, el is still trapped in the lab being a fucking experiment & i get just a bit sad

welcome backk !!
request for tasm!peter - peter would always blow off reader on dates because he's busy fighting crime and stuff like that, and reader has always been patient with him and understanding until she finally had enough. peter went to her apartment without thinking ( so he was still wearing the suit ) because he wanted to make up with reader right away and then he reveals his identity to her and they make up ( can end with smut )
i am terrible at making requests, and sorry if it would be hard to understand T T
anywaysss happy that you're back :D take caree
sorry this request took so long, lovely! i hope you enjoy! sorry for not including any smut, i’m just not the best at writing it yet.
summary: peter’s been showing up late, or not at all, for all your dates recently and you’re upset, until you find out why.
content warnings: fluff mainly, very slight angst, peter being a stressed baby, gn!reader (i think, let me know if not!), not proofread
The first time it happened was a study date. You had been struggling to grasp the new topic that had been introduced in your mathematics class and Peter, being the braniac he was, had been quick to offer to tutor you. He was supposed to come over that Friday night and have a movie night, after you finished studying. You gave him the benefit of the doubt, that maybe he was just running late or had an emergency, but then the hours creeped on and he still never showed. He apologized the next day, claiming May needed help with something and he couldn’t get away (apparently, this ‘something’ had kept him from messaging you that he wouldn’t come, as well, but you decided not to bring that up).
The next time was a bit more annoying. It was date night. You and Peter always set aside at least one day every week to be ‘date night.’ It usually just consisted of take out food and really cheesy movies, but it was nice to be able to spend time together, especially when classes filled up most of your schedules. You had a stressful week, with exams coming up and final projects being due, and you had been looking forward to spending a night with your boyfriend. He always knew how to put you at ease. You waited up for him for hours, but he never showed, again. At least this time he did text you, even though it was nearing midnight and it only read ‘I’m so sorry, this huge emergency came up. I’ll make it up to you with an icecream date tomorrow???’
The cycle continued on. He kept missing minor dates, sometimes showing up hours late or texting you that something came up, and other times just going radio silent until the next day. And you had forgiven him everytime, but he could tell you were getting annoyed and feeling rejected. Rightfully so. He knew he had to make it up to you, somehow, and his best plan of action was to scrape together whatever money he could and find the fanciest restaurant nearby (which wasn’t as fancy as he’d have liked, but it had foods he had never heard of, so he figured it was good enough).
“Okay, listen, I know I’ve been really, really bad at showing up to our dates on time, as in, I haven’t been,” he had started one night, coming into your apartment after one of his classes. You were sitting on the couch, surfing through movies to find something to watch, and he walked over to plop down next to you. “And I know you’ve been stressed with exams, and I just… I want to make it up to you and tell you I’m proud of you for getting through them. So, I made us a reservation at that fancy place - the italian one, down the road? Anyway, it’s for Saturday at 7, and if you don’t totally hate me, I thought it’d be nice.”
You glanced over him, furrowed eyebrows and with only a hint of hope. It was hard to keep believing he’d show up whenever he had missed so many. “I don’t hate you. I just… are you sure you’re gonna show up? I’m really tired of embarrassing myself by just waiting around,” you admitted with a doubtful sigh, and Peter’s heart nearly broke. He felt even worse for missing everything, and he wished more than anything that he could just tell you why.
“Hey, I swear, okay? I — I’m really sorry for missing any of our dates, and I’m sorry you felt embarrassed. But, the only way I don’t show up for this one is if I’m dying in a hospital somewhere, alright?” He rushed to reassure you, hand reaching out to cup your cheek and keep your attention on him. Seeing his puppy dog eyes made you give in quicker than you would have liked to, and you just nodded with a small ‘okay’ to agree. He grinned, leaning in to give you a sweet kiss, before turning back to the TV, decidedly picking some action movie that he thought you’d like.
Saturday came around, and you hated to say it, but you were excited. You had dressed nicely, taking over an hour to get ready just to make sure you looked perfect. You even arrived at the restaurant a few minutes early, waiting outside for Peter to show. He ended up texting you that he’d be running a few minutes late and asked that you went ahead to claim your seats, told you he’d still be there shortly. You lost some hope, but still trusted he’d keep his word and went in to sit down.
By 7:30, most of that trust had died and you apologized to the waiter for wasting so much of her time, but you were sure your date would show. She gave you a sympathetic smile that made you want to curl up and die as you ate your complimentary bread.
By 7:45, you had already send Peter a string of texts, letting him know you were about to leave and would talk to him later. You still hoped he’d respond though, but no luck.
Finally, by 8:00, you had given up all hope and just left, apologizing again to the waiters as you hurried out, eager to get away from the stares. You stopped by a small pizza place on your way back, starving as you hadn’t ate since before noon that day, scarfing down the slice before going to your house. Part of you worried that Peter was, in fact, dying in a hospital somewhere and that was why he didn’t show, though you knew that wasn’t why. Knew he just got caught up with something else, like always.
Peter stared down at his phone, mask held in his other hand as he frowned at your string of texts, all consisting of things like ‘this is humiliating, are you showing up??’ and ‘you promised you’d show.’ He felt that deep pit of guilt, and he didn’t think before swinging to your home, only wanting to make things up to you. Only wanting to make things better before you finally just gave up and broke things off with him. He wasn’t at all focused on the fact that he was wearing his tight suit, mask in his mouth now, identity fully revealed if anyone squinted enough.
His heart was beating a mile a minute, but not because of the adrenaline of the fight or the feeling of whipping through the air. Because he could only imagine how upset and angry you must feel right now, and he felt awful for being the cause of it.
He got to your house in less than half the time it would usually take, moving as quickly as possible, tapping on your bedroom window as soon as he spotted you in bed. You had rolled over at the noise, eyes squinting to see what was going on at first before you spotted him. He noticed the split second of anger that came across your features, but it was quickly replaced with wide eyes as you rushed to let him in. He glanced behind him to make sure nobody was about to throw something at him.
“Peter, you’re —” you had started once you pulled the window up, but you didn’t have time to continue before he started rushing to apologize.
“I’m sosososo sorry, I know I promised and I don’t have a good excuse, and I know you must be so upset right now,” he started, his own eyes wide as he climbed in, hands immediately finding your waist to stand you in front of him, ignoring your own shocked look and attempt at getting words out. “Tell me how to make it up to you, I’ll do anything, I swear. Seriously, Do you want a puppy? A cat? A — a lion? Anything?” He was practically begging.
“Spiderman,” You had responded. His eyebrows furrowed, hands dropping from your waist as he took in what he thought was your request.
“You want — you want Spiderman? Like, a cutout? That’s… okay, I didn’t know you were that big of a fan.”
“No, Peter, you’re… you’re Spiderman,” you stated and he was more confused than ever, but then your hands reached out to grab the mask that had dropped to the floor, and everything clicked together. He had never changed.
“Oh, that — um, I was at a costume party,” he attempted to lie, and it was clear on your face that you weren’t falling for his bluff. “Okay, yes. I’m Spiderman. That’s… sort of why I’ve been so late to everything.”
“Why didn’t you just tell me? Did you not trust me?”
“No. No! That’s not it at all. I just — it’s dangerous. For you to know anything. For you to even be with me, but I’m too selfish to end things. I just didn’t want someone coming after you just because you knew my identity,” he admitted with a frown, upset that you were now in harms way just because of his own stupidity.
“You’ve been doing this alone? You haven’t had any help?”
“What?” He questioned, looking at you as if you had asked the most absurd question possible. You were worried about his help when he had just missed his probably fifth date in a row? And put you in danger? “Um, yeah, I’ve been doing it alone. Look, I’m really sorry about tonight, and I promise —”
“Peter. It’s fine, I’m not mad. Anymore. I just can’t believe you hid this from me. I could’ve helped you, you know?” You cut him off, reaching out to rub your hand over a bruise forming near his eye. He hadn’t really noticed it from the fight, used to being punched around and overly focused on trying to get home to you.
His eyes were wide and filled with both worry and guilt. Guilt over missing tonight. Worry because he had no idea what was going to happen now, because it was about to become ten times harder to keep you safe. If anyone found out you knew his identity, they’d come for you, and Peter really didn’t know how to deal with that.
“I’m sorry. It’s just… I was scared something would happen to you. I can’t lose you,” he admitted, his voice small, and your heart broke.
“You won’t, okay? Nothing’s gonna happen to me, I’m here. But I wish you would’ve told me, I hate thinking about you out there, getting hurt. Not having anyone to patch you up. Is that why you’d wear hoodies so often?”
“Yeah,” he looked slightly embarrassed, and he moved to sit on the edge of your bed, keeping a hold of your hand as you went to sit next to him. “I usually heal up really fast, though, I promise. So it’s not that bad. And I’m really good at patching myself up, so you don’t have to worry about that.”
“Of course I’m gonna worry about you. I worried about you before I knew you were Spiderman, why would you think I wouldn’t worry about this?” You sighed, scooting closer to him as he wrapped his arms aorund you, moving to hide his face in the crook of your neck. You could tell how messed up he felt about it all with how openly he was craving your affection, but you didn’t say anything and instead just put your hands in his hair, scratching his scalp gently.
“Sweetheart, ‘m gonna fall asleep if you keep doing that,” he said, but you didn’t stop and he didn’t stop you.
“That’s fine. Just go to sleep, bug boy.”
He grumbled something out about the nickname, something about being a man and not a boy, but it was quiet, and he almost immediately fell asleep soon after.

Hi, yes, hello beautiful! Can you write a fic where MC accidentally sends Ethan her entire fanfic folder by mistake 😂🤣
How To Get Away With Fanfiction
I’m reliving my embarrassment 😭 but it is done and idk wtf happened with this lmao. This is also to make up for earlier kmjhygfd
Only tagging @ao719 @oofchoices @loveellamae @burnsoslow because no one else should have to read this unless they click on the read more and if they do... god bless. And thank you to Maroe for helping me come up with some of these ideas!
Tumblr media
It had been a long day at work when Dr. Gertrude-Sue Claws made her way home to do the one thing that relaxed her; writing fanfiction.
She had thought of the perfect idea for Spirit and Rainbow Dash and her fingers flew across the keyboard.
There was something about the multi colors in his mane and tail that drew him to her. He lived by the phrase, “hump ‘em and dump ‘em,” which he planned on doing with Rainbow Dash, but not without consent because horse jail wasn’t fun. He had heard the horror stories from his human friends, Kurns and Bryce.
“Rainbow Dash,” he neighed.
“Spirit…” She neighed back in response, she knew all about his...extracurricular activities. He was the biggest fuck horse out of the herd. Ever since Rain had died from drowning, god bless, he hadn’t been the same. It was also why he paid more attention to Rainbow Dash because she had Rain in the first part of her name.
“Let’s do this,” he smirked with his horse mouth.
“Fine…” She turned her back to him as he reared on his hind legs and mounted her, letting out a series of neighs.
She laughed silently to herself before moving on her Owen Hunt fic and she knew how much she was going to enjoy this one especially.
Owen was walking through the halls when he saw five women stalking towards him like cats, one even had whiskers drawn on her face. “Anitah with the h, get him!” He heard one of them command and watched as she came up to him, kicking him in no man's land. He felt them drag him into an empty exam room.
“MAROE! You got the chainsaw?”
“Nah bruh, Bears and Rams were in charge of that,” she explained.
Anything but Krista, cocked her half shaved eyebrow at Burns and Ella. “Y’all got the chainsaw?”
“No, but I have the cream for the burn I’m about to inflict,” Burns snickered to herself at her own joke, the others joining in before getting back to business.
“Burns, Ella, go scope out the cafeteria for some good food because I can’t kill in good faith on an empty stomach and as me and Ella say, we always get food first,” Anything but Krista said, turning her attention to the two people left, throwing them both a knife. Then proceeded to stab Owen numerous times, but making sure not to hit any major organs yet.
“We need a blender,” Anitah with the h announced.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Anything but Krista and MAROE said at the same time, looking at each other and bursting into laughter at the jinx.
“If that was making a human smoothie, then yes. We’ll show him that no one messes with Derek Christopher Shepherd,” Anitah with the h said smugly, pulling a blender out from behind her back and plugging it into the wall.
“You...you pulled that out of your jacket?” MAROE asked in a surprising tone.
“Y’all don’t keep blenders in yours?” Anitah with the h asked as if that wasn’t common, but it was good to know that she was always prepared.
Suddenly, the walkie talkie came to life, “Team Bears/Rams to Team CA, what y’all want from here? Over and out.”
“Team CA to Team Bears/Rams, we want CookOut. Over and out.” Anything but Krista responded. “It’s about time y’all tried a little piece of heaven,” she looked at Anitah with the h and MAROE.
“That’s a negative ghost rider, the closest CookOut is on the other side of the country. Over and out.”
“Well you better get on your way because you two also need to try a little piece of heaven, we’ll save the good stuff for when you get back. Over and out.” The trio resumed their slice and dice game, taking a short break to play Choices because the latest chapter of The Nanny Affair had just been released and even Owen wasn’t going to keep them away from Sam Dalton.
A couple hours later, Burns and Ella arrived with the food, handing out their respective trays to their respective orderers, they were able to keep the milkshakes from melting by their cold hearts.
“Ahhh gimme my milkshake,” Anything but Krista snatched it from Burns’ hand, earning a slap on her hand from her adoptive mother and a threat of taking away her pony...again.
“Yooo this shake hits different,” Ella exclaimed.
“You could even say that it slaps,” MAROE added making her squeak.
“It’s the one good thing North Carolina has to offer for me,” Anything but Krista chimed in, fist bumping Anitah with the h because the struggle was real. The cows really did outnumber the people, they just hoped that there wouldn’t be a cow revolution because that would be awful except the yeehaw folk would probably survive since they did have a song called “A Country Boy Can Survive.”
“Burns, we left you the honor of picking the perfect weather for us to dispose of the body which is more like liquid at this point. We need rain, thunder, and lightning to erase all of the evidence. Watching “Forensic Files” has finally come in handy. And Ella, we need you to pretend to be a nurse or something to help us get out of here. I’ll be honest, I haven’t thought that far ahead…” Anything but Krista admitted, but they expected that from her so they already had a plan in place.
“If anyone happens to see Derek Shepherd, I ask that you tell me,” MAROE added.
“Not if I find him first,” Anything but Krista said.
“He’s like fifty four years old…” Burns said being ever the good adoptive mother.
“Then I call Spencer Reid!” Anything but Krista exclaimed.
“I have Lucifer then,” MAROE challenged knowing that would get under her skin.
“Children, calm yourselves.” Burns shook her head.
“Hey, I’ll be eighteen in like a number amount of months,” Anything but Krista said.
“I’ll be eighteen before you,” MAROE said, sticking out her tongue.
“I’Ll Be EiGhTeEn BeFoRe YoU,” she repeated, placing her hands on her hips and doing that Spongebob meme. After thinking of a better comeback, she grabbed her knife she used on Owen earlier and plunged it into MAROE’s back.
“Et tu, Brute?” MAROE said with shock in her voice before her body crumpled on the ground.
“Yes, bye bitch.”
The other three just stared as the blood drained from her body before turning their attention to Anything but Krista. They were the epitome of 👁👄👁.
“What? She wanted to “due” anyway. And at her funeral we can play “To Be So Lonely” because well she will be lol.”
“Anywaysss, we gonna get food or what?” Ella asked as she covered Owen’s body with a sheet.
“Wings?” Burns suggested and they all agreed. After arriving at the restaurant, they were very shocked to see MAROE sitting at a table waiting for them.
“It’s the trying to kill me for me,” she said upon taking their seats, glaring at Anything But Krista specifically.
“It’s the stealing my fictional husbands for me,” she retaliated.
“It’s the acting like children for me,” Burns' authoritative voice came.
“Sorry,” they both murmured as they looked over the menus to order their food. The rest of their lunch going smoothly, their victims already forgotten about. Don’t mess with hangry chicks who hate Owent Cunt.
“So who’s next?” Anitah with the h asked.
“Ahh you’ve gotten the first taste of blood and now you’re addicted,” Burns observed. She would make for a good profiler for the FBI at Quantico. She would have a cool nickname; Cunt Punter.
“Why not just kill everyone we hate?” Ella questioned.
“That’s a great idea! I say we kill Guy and Vanessa,” Anything but Krista suggested.
“And Landrat!” MAROE added, the whole group agreeing, finishing their lunch before getting to their killing spree.
Gertrude-Sue was laughing at her made up characters and story when she received an email from Ethonk Remy to send him a folder that she had. Goggle Drive was acting stupid so she didn’t realize that she had shared her fanfiction folder with her boss before it was too late. She saw a little giraffe pop up in the right hand corner telling her that he was already viewing what was inside the folder.
“Holy donkey claws,” she cried out loud, smacking her hands against her face.
Meanwhile, Ethonk was going through her folder when he came across a document and his eyes went wide. “What are they doing with the dog?” He said to himself.
Wonder pets, wonder pets
We're on our way
To help a friend and save the day
We're not too big
And we're not too tough
But when we work together, we've got the right stuff
Gooo wonder pets yaaaaay!
The phone
The phone is ringing
The phone
We'll be right there
The phone
The phone is ringing
There's an animal in trouble
There's an animal in trouble
There's an animal in trouble somewhere
“What the hell are Wonder Pets?” He continued inspecting the different documents ranging from murder of one Owen Cunt, horses having sexual intercourse, Wonder Pets stuff, four kids and a dog where they did questionable things with each other, a sponge and a starfish were high on marijuana, a game where Gertrude-Sue had made him and her a family that looked way too realistic for his liking, two bunnies who kept hopping around with one of their little brothers, and multiple documents about Matthew Gray Gubler, Tom Holland, Tom Ellis, Patrick Dempsey, and Harry Styles which were all quite disturbing.
He took out his phone to call her. “Hey uh, Gert, what is this?”
“Oh well you see, the funny thing is that I accidentally sent you the wrong folder so if you could just pretend like this never happened, that would be fantastic. Okay thanks bye. I’m sending you the right one this time.” And she hung up, ready to throw herself off a cliff at her stupidity.
One thing was for sure, she would never make this mistake again.

All I Want | Ilya Feddy
(A/N: I have to repost this cuz idk what happened but literally the entire writing just disappeared after I posted. good thing i write everything on google before i transfer it all to tumblr. i love being smart sometimes. anywaysss this is kinda based off the song All I Want by Olivia Rodrigo. its a a cute song and kinda hits home so why not use it as inspo!)
It’s been about a year and a half since you moved to L.A. to be with Natalie and David. You were truly living your best life. Kind of.
Working for David was insane. Every day was different, you had some of the best friends you could ask for, your boyfriend was perfect...on paper.
He did nice things for you. Like open doors, send you bouquets of flowers to your place, he even drops everything when you’re going through one of your days.
But he was lying to your face almost every weekend.
It was hard keeping a big secret when more than half the time it eats you alive and you can’t tell anyone about it. You knew if you did everything would turn to shit and you would be alone again.
You started thinking back to Chicago. Everything there was perfect, too. But all good things had to end.
Like your relationship with Ilya. He was perfect on paper and on screen. You knew nobody would compare to him but your love didn’t last. It was hard fighting for love that wasn’t being met halfway.
Your thoughts were interrupted with David telling you the news.
“I bought Ilya and Alex plane tickets to stay for the weekend,” He said causing Natalie to squeal from happiness as she missed her best friends.
You faked a smile, trying to convince everyone around you that you were happy with this. You were more excited to see Alex than Ilya. Sure Ilya’s been to L.A. countless times to visit, but you found yourself “busy” whenever he was he, clearly avoiding him.
“I’m gonna go pick them up in like an hour. If you could get the house cleaned a little that would be great,” David said as he retreated back to his room, probably to finish editing.
You could feel Natalie’s eyes burning holes into you. “What, Natalie?” You said, letting out a sigh as you dropped down on the couch.
Mimicking your actions, Natalie sat next to you, nudging your side. “So. Ilya. You gonna be okay with this?”
You shrugged your shoulders, not knowing yourself if you were going to be okay. “Yeah, we’re on good terms. I’ll probably be out with Nick anyways,” Your fingers tugged at the hem of your shirt, trying not to let your lies consume you.
“Oh come on. You and I both know that’s a lie. David’s too dumb to realize it but I see right through you,” Natalie replied, giving you a look.
Your mind was racing. She knows. How does she know? Fuck.
“What’s a lie?” You asked, playing dumb and hoping she wouldn’t say what you worked so well on covering up.
“That you and Ilya are on good terms. And you’re definitely not going to be okay.”
You let out a breath that you didn’t realize you were holding in. “I’ll be fine, I swear,” you said before getting up to clean the house.
Natalie let out a groan not happy that you weren’t opening up to her.
The hour came and went as you watched David rush around his place, trying to find his keys and wallet before finally leaving to pick up his friends.
Quickly cleaning the rest of the rooms, you took a quick shower, not wanting to look so gross in front of your friends. Even though they’ve seen you in worse conditions. You were hoping that once you were done getting ready, you would still have time to sneak out before David got back. But with your luck, as soon as you stepped out of the bathroom the front door opens and loud voices boom through the house.
“I’m so happy you’re here!” You hear Natalie yell as you round the corner to see her hugging Ilya.
“(Y/n)! What’s up!” Alex yells as he makes his way to you, pulling you into a hug. You haven’t seen him since you moved and his arms made you feel like you were back home.
He let you go just in time for your eyes to fall onto Ilya, who was already looking at you.
You didn’t know what to do, so you smiled softly at him before he made the move to hug you.
You relaxed under his touch as you nuzzled your face into his neck.
Now this is home.
“How are you?” He asks as he pulled away.
“Good...great, actually,” You said, barely believing your own words, “How are you? How’s Chicago?”
Ilya ran his hand through his hair before going back to where everyone else was standing. “I’m good, Chicago’s okay. It’s kinda boring without you guys though.”
You all make your way to the living room to finish talking.
“Well it’s a good thing everyone’s coming over later. It will definitely be everything but boring,” David laughed and shook his head. He knew by the end of the night, this place would be trashed again.
You got up from the couch getting ready to leave when you were stopped.
“Where are you going?” Ilya asked, his eyes not leaving yours, “We just got here,”
You tried breaking eye contact but his stare was holding yours hostage, “I, uh. I forgot I had plans with Nick later. We’ll be back later if we have time.” You said, finally breaking free from his stare.
You quickly said your goodbyes and left before anyone else could say anything. As you sat in your car, trying to control your feelings, you heard a knock on your window. Almost jumping out of your seat, you roll it down to be face to face with David.
“Everything okay?” He asked, “I know it’s probably weird with Ilya and everything but I figured you would be over it by now.”
You were taken aback by his choice of words. He of all people should know what it’s like to deal with a breakup but still having to be around them.
“Shit, no. Sorry. I meant that I thought you would be over him. Y’know with like Nick being in your life and everything.” David tried to explain himself.
You shook your head, letting it go, “It’s fine. I’m fine, really. I actually have to go though,” You say before putting your car in reverse.
David backs away, letting you leave, “Fine but promise you’ll stop by later. I know Alex and Ilya miss being around you.”
You open your mouth but close it, repeating this a couple times before finding your words. “I don’t know, Dave. I’ll try.”
You waved goodbye before pulling away from his house. On the drive home you couldn’t help but think of Ilya. You missed him. As your best friend. As your boyfriend. Life was better with him in it and you wished things worked out between you guys.
When you got to your house, you saw that your boyfriend’s car was in the driveway, immediately feeling guilty about thinking of another guy that wasn’t him.
Just as you were getting out of your car, you see him coming out the door with a suitcase in hand.
“Hi baby, I’m sorry. I have a work thing this weekend. It’s last minute and I have to leave now or I’ll miss my flight,” your boyfriend says, only stopping for a second to kiss you.
“I thought we had plans?” You said, trying to hold back tears.
Not even turning around, Nick shouts over his shoulder, “I know I’ll make it up to you when I come back. I promise.” He puts his luggage in his trunk and gets in his car. Just as you think he’s about to leave, he gets out and runs up to you. He grabs your cheeks and pulls your face to his, kissing you more passionately than he ever has.
“I love you, I wish I could stay for the weekend,” He says as he pulls away, pecking your lips once more before officially leaving.
You let out a quiet groan as you walked inside your home, letting the tears fall the second the door closed behind you.
You fell to the ground as the emotions you’ve been feeling for the past forever came out at once and you couldn’t hold anything back. Tear after tear, sob after sob, you let it all out. Not caring if your neighbors could hear your frustrated screams coming from your home.
When you finally decided you’ve had enough crying for the day, you picked yourself up and changed into more comfortable clothing. You spent the rest of your day on your couch, catching up on all the shows and movies you haven’t seen in a while.
You didn’t realize you fell asleep until you were awakened by your phone going off, almost for a minute straight. Coming out of your sleepy haze and looked around for your phone soon to realize it was in your purse across the room. You let out a sigh of relief when it stopped ringing, concluding you didn’t have to get up anymore.
Another 10 or so minutes before you heard your phone ringing again. You grabbed it out of your purse and retreated back to your spot on the couch. Looking at the home screen, you saw you had 3 missed calls from David, 1 from Ilya and countless messages from a group chat you were put in with everyone from Vernon Hills. Most of the messages were about going to David’s for a party. Something you certainly didn’t want to do tonight.
You opened Ilya’s message last, wondering why he was texting you.
When are you coming over? Wanted to catch up
You left him on read along with everyone else. The last thing you wanted to do was be around people, let alone drunk people and your ex...who you still had strong feelings for.
Another hour went by with your phone being silent for once. Just as you were finding yourself drifting back to sleep, you heard a couple knocks at your door. Putting your TV on mute so whoever was there didn’t hear you were home, you quietly sat and waited for them to leave.
They knocked again, this time a little louder. “(Y/n). Open the door, I know you’re home,” you heard David’s voice behind the barrier, “I’m alone. Please let me in.”
You let out a huff and let him in, quickly closing the door behind him. Instead of greeting him, you went back to where you spent the last 4 hours.
“So what’s up?” David asks, sitting across from you on the couch.
You kept your gaze forward while you shrugged your shoulders. “Shouldn’t you be at your house to maybe supervise your party?” you ask, genuinely curious as to why he left his very expensive house in the hands of drunk people.
“First of all, Natalie is keeping an eye on it. Second of all, don’t change the subject,” David said sharply, making you flinch slightly from the anger that laced his words. “We’ve been friends for how many years? And you’re seriously going to sit there and not talk to me? Cmon (y/n).”
You could feel the tears building up again as you started to think about everything that was going wrong. Quickly covering your face, you let the tears fall. David pulled you into his side to comfort you, not caring if his shirt gets drenched.
“All I want is love that lasts, Dave. But apparently that’s too much to ask for,” You say in between sobs. “Is there something wrong with me?”
“Hey, what? No no no, (y/n) you’re incredible. Did something happen with Nick?” David asks, moving the stray hairs that stuck to your face.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. Everything happened with Nick. Running your hands through your hair, you tried to think of words to fit your sentences. But every time you opened your mouth, you were on the verge of crying even harder.
“I know he goes out and cheats almost every weekend,” You finally say, barely audible. Fiddling with the blanket on your lap, you didn’t dare look at David. You could already feel his judgemental stare burning holes into your head.
“Is that a joke? (Y/n) why the fuck do you stay with him if he’s going out and doing shit like that?” David hisses, more mad at the situation than he is at you.
“I don’t know, David, okay! I don’t fucking know why I stay. Maybe because he’s the only guy that’s ever met my expectations and didn’t leave when things got rough!” Your voice boomed through the room. As you glanced at David, you could see his entire body soften, knowing who you were talking about.
He let out a sigh as he played with his hair, for once not knowing what to say. You two sat in silence for a couple minutes before he finally said something, “He didn’t leave because things got rough, (y/n). He left because he was scared. And he didn’t want to make things worse for you,” David says, playing with the ends of his hair.
When you were with Ilya, almost a year into the relationship you started to figure out he had an alcohol addiction. But when you confronted him about it, he froze up and wouldn’t talk to you for weeks. If he did, it was short answers and always bailed on plans.
“I don’t get why he couldn’t just tell me what was going on. We were best friends and now we’re just...nothing.” You said, looking at David for answers.
“I don’t know why he does anything but I promise you he never had any intentions on hurting you and I know that doesn’t help anything. But I know Ilya, he never wanted to end things with you. He loves you, (y/n), he just didn’t know what to do.” David ruffled his hair, slightly messing it up.
Sitting in silence once again, you moved over to David’s side, cuddling into him. “I miss the good old days. When we were all together every day. We were so young and naive, yknow?” You said, reminiscing on your childhood. “I always thought the perfect guy would come and find me. But I guess happily ever after doesn’t really come so easily,” You let out a little chuckle, realizing how different everything is now compared to how you thought it would turn out.
“It definitely doesn’t, but that’s the good thing about life. You find someone new who shows you what you want and what you don’t want. What you need and what you don’t need. And I can tell you right now, what you don’t need is Nick. You don’t need someone who can easily go out and cheat on you every weekend, not caring that you’re home by yourself most of the time.” David traced circles on your arms, keeping you calm through this whole situation.
“I think I want to talk to Ilya. Like tonight. I need to do something before he leaves and I know if I don’t do it soon, I probably never will.” You said, moving away from David’s grasp and standing up. You could see the confusion in his face but he still had a small smile playing on his lips.
The drive to David’s was nerve racking. You tried to think of words that made sense but all you could come up with was nonsense. You felt your palms become clammy as his house came into view. The music could be heard miles away. As David pulls into his driveway, he looks over to you and asks, “You ready?”
You nod your head once before getting out. You felt a sudden wave of confidence crash over you as you stepped through the door, your eyes immediately landing on Ilya. Heat ran through your body as you saw how happy he looked, something you haven’t seen in what felt like an eternity. You heard everyone yell your name, happy to see you, but all you were focused on was him.
Slowly losing your confidence with every step, you made your way to Ilya who started to meet you halfway. “Hey,” you said when you were finally face to face.
“Hey,” Ilya replied, shoving his hands in his pockets. “You came in here pretty fierce,” he said, laughing at his words.
You couldn’t help but smile, “Can we talk, please?” You asked, motioning your head towards David’s room. You watched Ilya nod his head and followed him into the room, locking the door behind you.
Keeping your eyes straight, you sat next to Ilya on the bed. The two of you sat in silence for a bit as you didn’t know what to say.
“So…” Ilya says, breaking the silence. You could hear him smiling.
“Nick’s been cheating on me almost every weekend. Probably since we’ve started dating.” You blurted out, not really sure why you were telling him this. “He thinks I don’t know because he keeps telling me it’s for work. But I’ve seen proof. And nobody goes on that many business trips.” You were expecting tears to prick your eyes but you only got more annoyed.
“(Y/n), I’m sorry. You don’t deserve that. Have you talked to him about it?”
You shake your head. You weren’t sure why you never confronted him about it. Maybe because you didn’t want to lose the sense of security you were so used to. “I guess I knew that if I asked him about it I would’ve lost someone again. And I don’t think I could have handled that.” You admitted.
You looked over at Ilya, seeing his eyes soften with guilt. He opened his mouth to talk, but you quickly cut him off. “That’s not what I wanted to talk to you about. This entire day I kept thinking about you and us and everything that happened. I wish you would have stayed. I wish we could have worked out. I don’t think you realize you were the best thing that happened to me.” You paused for a second, letting Ilya take in what you just said.
“You need to understand that I never meant to hurt you like that,” Ilya responded, grabbing your hand, “I just got defensive and I didn’t know what else to do, (Y/n).”
You turned your body to face Ilya. He looked broke and hurt but also happy. “I guess what I wanted to tell you is that I still love you and I know I shouldn’t because of Nick but fuck him. You are what I need. You were always what I needed. I want to make this work. I miss you, all the time.”
You waited for Ilya to say something. After a few seconds you were worried that maybe he didn’t feel the same anymore and you crossed the line. But everything happened so quick, next thing you know Ilya’s hands are cupping your cheeks and pulling you into him for a kiss.
Your body relaxed into his as you smiled into the kiss. Ilya pulled away too soon for your liking, “I guess maybe you should end things with Nick.” You couldn’t help but groan at the thought of him. Pulling out your phone, you texted your now ex-boyfriend telling him everything. That the relationship was over and you knew he was cheating. You told him there would be a box of his things at his door tomorrow.
You tossed your phone behind you and tackled Ilya down to the bed, immediately kissing him again.

Soulmate! | Jihoon
genre: fluff
member: jihoon
requested: yess!
summary: when you first found out about your soulmate, you’re not sure if this relationship is going to work out because it’s the school’s mafia, park jihoon.
side note: thank you so much for requesting 💓 i’m very sorry to keep you waiting ㅠㅠㅠ i think i suck at writing soulmate au.... so i’m praying really hard that this meets your expectations :>
unlike those cliche soulmate stories where you haven’t gotten the chance to find your soulmate
or those stories where you are dying to know who your soulmate is
your soulmate story turns out completely different
that’s right
and honestly, you don’t know if you should count yourself lucky or not
because one, you’re the first few people among your friends who found your soulmate
and two, you know that you won’t end up single and lonely
but after finding out who your soulmate is
you’re not too sure if you want your fate to turn out like this
for your case, you have a phrase engraved on your wrist
and that signifies the first phrase that made the both of you get together
at the start, you actually got a good feeling about your partner
because it says
“i’ll protect you now”
sounds so sweet and lovey-dovey right?
you thought your future is in good hands
and you don’t have to fret about relationship issues anymore
but guess what
it is all lies when you found out your partner
it’s none other than the school’s mafia, park jihoon
out of all people in school, you don’t understand why jihoon is your soulmate
like there’s no link at all???
first of all, both you and jihoon are just merely acquaintances
apart from being his classmate, you got to know him while you’re working at this cafe
you’re always at the cashier while jihoon would always be the one ordering drinks
that is the only time where the both of you would talk
and that is when you found out that jihoon is your soulmate
when he was handling you the cash, you saw the same exact phrase on his wrist
you told yourself that it is not possible
like no no no way this is happening
but at the same time, you realized it’s true
because that phrase is a special phrase to the both of you and no one else has it
and judging from his reaction every time he sees you, you know he still doesn’t know anything about you being his soulmate
how are you going to tell jihoon that?
you guys are not even close to begin with
.... does this mean the end of your soulmate relationship?
moreover, you are shy when it comes to guys like jihoon
does his looks need anymore explanation?
as much as you’re happy finding your soulmate partner, but you’re not sure if this is going to end happily
especially the fact that he is a mafia
you saw how intimidating jihoon can be at times
there are times where they would leave at the same time as you pack up at work
and while you’re walking behind them, you could see him threatening his friends
or when he comes to class the next day, a few new scars could be seen on his knuckles or on the side of his cheeks
because of that, you decided to just keep quiet
and hopefully, pray that a miracle would happen one day
anywaysss
so you’re at the cafe, working as usual
while jihoon visits the cafe
the fact that he is your soulmate, you notice every single thing about him
you noticed that he has been coming alone more and more often
and he would leave around the same timing that you knock off at work
although that is just pure coincidental but you notice such small stuff
until one day
it seems like jihoon is rushing off somewhere after he received a text
and you don’t know what has gotten into you
but your feet started following jihoon too
you know it is hell dangerous following him but something in you just wants to follow him
so you did
you secretly followed him into alleys
and when you started hearing him talking, you quickly hide behind the wall
you didn’t mean to eavesdrop to their conversation but just by hearing what they say, makes you feel like you’re being too paranoid
they are just having normal talks
you laughed it off and you decided to just leave them alone
not long after, you suddenly heard someone groaning
as though someone is being beaten up
you run back as fast as you could, not thinking about the consequences
from far, you can tell jihoon is already half beaten up by two other guys
you run as fast as you could to protect jihoon
you spread your arms wide while jihoon stays behind you, hoping that the person would stop beating him up
you shut your eyes real tight and waited for the impact to come
“now look who is this hero?”
this sounds totally out of your mind
you’re just another girl that has a much smaller frame than jihoon
and you’re trying to protect jihoon here?
“s-stop whatever y-you’re doing” you obviously stuttered at the wrong moment
“move, if not i’m hitting you girl” you heard him say
at that moment, you don’t know what has gotten into you but you refused to move
and you have gotten what you deserve
you soon felt a huge punch of your right cheek, making you land far away from jihoon
even though you’re injured, you still care and worry for jihoon
thankfully, you heard that person letting jihoon off
you let out a sigh of relief when you see them leaving
“are you okay?” you looked at him with concern
looking at the condition of jihoon, you know he is never going to make it back home himself
so you decided to send him home
after you got to jihoon’s house, you quickly left him on the sofa and grab the first aid kit
this is when you take a good look at his face
it is really badly brusied
the corner of his lips is already bleeding
without wasting anymore time, you started dressing his wounds
because you’re so focused on his wounds, you never realized jihoon has been staring at you until you’re done
that 2 seconds of eye contact is more than enough
you’re already blushing like mad
“i-i’m done... get some rest early” you cleared your throat
just when you’re about to leave, jihoon held onto your wrist
“thanks, y/n. thanks for saving me” jihoon gave you a faint smile
that is all it takes for your heart to beat uncontrollably
even when you’re getting ready for bed, your mind is still stuck at the moment when you realized jihoon is staring at you
what drives you crazy is when he smiled and said thank you
you never knew jihoon would have this side of him
all it takes is just one incident for your feelings to change for him
the day haven’t ended and you’re already looking forward to seeing jihoon tomorrow
when the next day arrives, you look forward to class and work already
when you see jihoon in school, your mood immediately got lifted up
and when you see him at the cafe, you feel like your heart is about to burst anytime
just when you thought what happened last night is more than enough
think again
jihoon started approaching you and started talking to you while you’re at the cafe
that’s not all
he even choose to wait for you until your shifts end and walk you home together
it seems like the jihoon you know now is a total different person from last time
after knowing him better, he is not as bad as you think
you couldn’t even tell what your feelings are now
but you’re pretty sure you’re in love with your soulmate already
time skipppp
things between you and jihoon got better each day
the distance between the both of you just gets closer everyday
you get to learn new things about him everyday and that means sending more signals to your heart
basically, you are already spending every moment with jihoon
until a day where he didn’t appear in the cafe
you got really worried sick about jihoon
you couldn’t even concentrate on taking orders from the customers
you tried calling him but there’s no answer
as soon as your shift ended, you just wanted to run towards jihoon
while your mind is busy thinking about jihoon, you never noticed where you’re heading
that includes bumping into random strangers
and this stranger is no stranger to you
it is the same person that was beating jihoon up that day
“it’s you! i’m not letting you go this time especially when you tried protecting jihoon that day!”
before you could even process what the hell the person even said, he dragged you into a dark alley and grabbed onto your collar
your palms broke out into cold sweat and your breathing started getting faster
“no one is going to save you this time round” you see him smirk and the next thing you know is him punching your cheeks again
that’s when you feel like death is coming
just when you see his fist coming again, your eyes shut tight but the impact never come
instead, you see him landing far away
“get the fuck out of here, no one messes with her” a familiar voice caught your attention
although you know that’s jihoon, there’s barely any strength left in you to even say anything
with that, he help you up and got you home
just like what you did for him, jihoon started dressing your wounds
“i’m sorry i couldn’t be there earlier, it’s my fault” you heard him sigh
“who says it’s your fault? i’m fine, don’t worry” you gave jihoon an assuring smile
“how can i ever let my soulmate get hurt?”
your eyes almost dropped out when you heard jihoon saying that
“i know you’re my soulmate a long time ago when i saw your wrist”
you remember saying that your soulmate relationship would end?
it is never gonna happen
“just like what the phrase says, i’ll protect you, y/n. it’s my turn now” you buried your head into jihoon’s chest while you felt a forehead kiss :’)
