This is today's 123 Rhodes Island translation! This time it's Rangers! kinda another semi-unpopular opp today also :/

Today TL notes wise it's kind of uninteresting, most of the stuff can be translated pretty literally and give a pretty accurate meaning.

The most interesting thing is the 噔 SFX and 惊醒. they both appeared before, I just didn't really talk about it. 噔 just means "the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground" I used it before literally but in this case its more like *Vine boom* for the case of 惊醒 it means to wake up, but it's more like a suddenly waking up from a bad dream or situation.

Other than that the interesting things are like how Rangers calls himself "老夫“ which is a pronoun used by men over 70, and me translating 正好 as "you're just in time" while it can mean like "just" as in just right it can also mean "just in time" by itself, and I felt like that made more sense in this situation.

But this comic is actually special in a different way, as it's the last 123 Rhodes missing if you solely look at global content. Tomorrow is from the CN executor event. So now I started to think about what to translate when I catch up to the comics. I noticed that the A-1 reserve manga is still about half untranslated so I might translate that next

If that happens It might be a long while until you get an update after I finish 123 Rhodes, since they're a lot more complicated words wise , 31 pages long each and I'll also be trying to learn to typeset in gimp(cus I'm a cheap idiot)

in swummer's profile archive 4 they say the LGD officers will sometimes secretly(🤨) compare the difference between chen and swire's leadership styles in private; when following chen you have to yolo speedrun with her and will need half a day to recover from it while following swire requires you to multitask but in a controlled and not chaotic way and everything is very clearcut etc etc everyone generally agrees that they both 'seem to have 8 heads each, if i were in their shoes i would have been a goner after the first day' and it ends with rat king and wei two lungmen boomers drinking tea talking about the two of them too i was like ???? telenovela moment??? well not as crazy as the archive also saying that chen's desk was vacant (read: untouched and not taken over) for 2 years before swire tidied it up and put all the stuff into a box (read: not throwing them away) and labeling chen's (full) name on it (very normal about this meaningless detail)

I like how she uses the same syntax? for all three, but I couldn't figure out how to word the [(noun) (verb) 少少] pattern succinctly in english AND keep the nuances lol skill issue... repeating 'a little bit more' thrice just sounds so wordy yea but anyway

the first two is 重 (heavier so a increase in both amount and importance) and 多 (more) but CNT has the last verb as 深(deeper) and also instead of 操心 its 烦 which is more like 'bother' than 'worry' aren't nuances great yippee

in her JP dub she says あのバカ龍 on the last chen mention while CN/CNT just uses the equivalent of 'her' instead of 仆街龍 but understandable because the word is a little strong lmao but im taking the nuance of her using 而家返嚟 as opposed to 現在回來 as a W regardless (something like come home vs go back)

this line is also referenced in a 123 rhodes comic strip

she does call her 仆街龍 in her module when talking to Hoshiguma though i'm tell you

I wonder how quickly I will get Hoederer. First pull? Over 200? Something in-between?

W was a YOLO roll. I was saving for her, but by the time of Stultifera Navis I only had slightly more than 100k Orundum. I don't remember if I rolled until the first 6* or only used free pulls, but I didn't get any limiteds. Then, on the last day of the banner, I had this strong urge to throw one last multi at it, and there was the roach!

Ines was roll 123 (and, since I was rolling multis, it cost full 130). I was running dangerously low on Orundum, since Yato required full 120 pity, but thankfully Ines was merciful in the end, and also brought a bunch of nice units along. I have entire Rhodes Island faction collected thanks to her!

Today's 123 Rhodes Island translation. Today is Pramanix! I technically should've done her after Texas alter, but the official site has no numbering system so I accidentally skipped over her while finding the next one, sorry.

as for Tl notes , ill start with the 1st comic 3rd panel sfx, the speech bubble has some different things but it basically boils down to using sis instead of big sis cus I don't remember if Cliffheart uses big sis. But the SFX is 清凉 which just means cool in a refreshing way, so I translated it as refreshingly cool just to push it in Enya's face(sry lol)

the 2nd comic doesn't have a lot of major changes, it's just the way that Pramanix speaks is obviously more archaic, being closer to a religious speech than anything so I had to translate it accordingly.

Today is just a simple one with not that much text. I actually translated Executor alter today, and then found that I had to do this one also. since Executor alter was already translated by someone competent I decided to do this quickly since its not that bad.

It seems like “Operators!” and “123 Rhodes Island!?” are both comedy, and Rhodes Kitchen is some kind of cooking slice of life thing, I’m guessing?

Which leaves A1 Operations, which looks like it might be another more serious based manhua.

Not sure which one I’d read next, and not really sure if any of them have spoilers. Which may be silly for the comedy ones, but you never know, they could spoil something for someone behind on the game in those.
