Australian veteran did Rinku Singh’s feat, hit 5 sixes in 5 consecutive balls, but Pathan snatched the victory New Delhi. These days T10 league matches are being played in America. In a match, former Australia captain Aaron Finch hit 5 sixes in 5 consecutive balls. His batting reminded me of Rinku Singh. Rinku also hit 5 consecutive sixes in IPL 2023. Top 5 Closest Wins by Runs for SRH in IPL History
Sunrisers Hyderabad has secured some of the most exciting wins in IPL history. Among their top 5 closest victories in terms of runs, they have managed to outshine their opponents by the slimmest of margins, demonstrating their unwavering determination and fierce competitiveness.
5. 4 runs vs RCB, Abu Dhabi 2021
Tumblr media
In IPL 2021, Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched an exciting win against RCB with a margin of just four runs. Even though AB de Villiers made a late charge, needing six runs off the last two balls, SRH remained composed and emerged victorious. The combined efforts of the bowlers and batsmen ensured a close win in Abu Dhabi.
4. 4 runs vs RPS, Vizag 2016
Tumblr media
In IPL 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured an exciting four-run win over Rising Pune Supergiants. Despite Adam Zampa’s impressive performance of taking 6 wickets for just 19 runs, SRH’s strong pace attack, led by Ashish Nehra, successfully defended a modest total of 137. Although MS Dhoni made a valiant effort, RPS fell just short in the chase, allowing SRH to claim the top position in the points table.
3. 4 runs vs DC, Dubai 2014
Tumblr media
Sunrisers Hyderabad claimed a nail-biting four-run victory against Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2014. Aaron Finch’s 88* and David Warner’s 58* helped SRH reach a total of 184/1. Despite a strong start by DD’s openers, errors in tactics and dropped catches proved costly for them.
2. 3 run vs MI, Mumbai WS 2022
Tumblr media
Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched a vital three-run win against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, ensuring their chances of making it to the playoffs remain alive. Thanks to Rahul Tripathi’s impressive knock of 76 and Umran Malik’s fiery bowling, SRH successfully defended a total of 193 runs, despite a late onslaught from MI’s Tim David. The strategic changes made by SRH proved to be fruitful, bringing them one step closer to securing a spot in the playoffs.
1. 1 run vs RR, Hyderabad 2024
Tumblr media
In a thrilling finish, Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged victorious by a narrow margin of one run against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024. SRH set a challenging target of 201/3, thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy’s unbeaten 76* and Travis Head’s impressive 58. Despite RR’s valiant effort in their chase, SRH’s bowlers, particularly Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, displayed exceptional skills to secure the win. It was a tense and exciting match that ended in SRH’s favor.

Season Six, Episode Eighteen: Genotype
What a team-up Theo and Mason is going to be.
Did Monroe miss initially when she shot Halwyn? I thought they found the slug in the tree.
Oh, the banter, the banter is good!
Heh, it's taken two seasons, but Marti Matulis has gotten a guest starring credit instead of an also starring at the end.
It was always going to be dark and spooky.
"What are you gonna say?" "Hello?" - Comedy gold.
It's Evil Bio Teacher!
Again, everyone distracts Lydia when she's trying to get her premonitions, just leave her alone, lmao.
Casey Deidrick has spent 2 of his 3 episodes as a dead body so far, poor guy.
Do not bludgeon Lydia please Malia!
IIRC, Ms Finch (did we know her name before now?) is human, but her son's a werewolf.
Punnett squares! Everyone loves a punnett square.
Achoo! - More comedy gold.
One more visit to Eichen House before the end, because why not.
At least Halwyn got to wear pants this time.
Lydia and Malia masked themselves up, but didn't bother covering the big ol' bullet wound in Halwyn's head?
Can't beat a good instruction book!
Finch's daughter is Quinn, isn't it?
Booyeah, look at me, remembering things.
Cody's so little, aww.
It's heeeere…. twice.
Chekov's erasers.
Silver dripping out of a nose. How very Season 5.
"You can't take pain if you don't care." - Theo's face is heartbreaking, my god.
Pretty sure it's a bit late for Halwyn's warning at this point.
Shit. Double Face time.
Oh, Ms Finch is an alpha. That's a surprise.
Nice try, Liam. No, really, leaping over the tables and getting instantly whalloped was great.
A kiss and an ass-kicking. The perfect bonding ritual.
Bye Aaron. Bye Quinn. Hello, Anuk-Ite.
Nice save, Lydia.
How does it roar with no mouth? Asking the big questions.
This is probably the most human I've ever seen Marti Matulis look between this show and Evil.
Deucalion's gotta save the day, again.
Time for some shower sex, because how else do you end a day like this?
Gerard and the Anuk-Ite. Talk about a match made in heaven.
"You need an Argent!" - He's a giant bag of cocks, but Gerard does get some great lines.

[ad_1] Cameron Green braved cramps to smash a career-best 89 not out and safe Australia's nervy two-wicket victory towards New Zealand within the opening one-day worldwide in Cairns on Tuesday. Chasing 233 for victory, Australia slumped to 44-5 earlier than Green mixed in a 158-run stand with Alex Carey, who made 85, to revive their chase. The all-rounder smashed 10 fours and a six as Australia clinched the low-scoring contest with 5 overs to spare to go 1-0 up within the three-match sequence for the Chappell–Hadlee Trophy. What a match 🔥From 44/5 at one level, Australia battle again to clinch the primary ODI 👏Watch #NZvAUS on… https://t.co/9HUOYqV6yj— ICC (@ICC) 1662466709000Earlier, Glenn Maxwell claimed 4-52 to limit New Zealand to 232-9 after dwelling captain Aaron Finch elected to discipline. Maxwell took a surprising one-handed catch at backward level to ship again Martin Guptill within the fifth over earlier than wreaking havoc with the ball. Devon Conway (46), skipper Kane Williamson (45) and Tom Latham (43) missed their fifties however at 179-3 after 41 overs, New Zealand seemed primed for a late assault. Maxwell, who had dismissed Williamson simply when the batsman was reducing unfastened, despatched again Daryl Mitchell (26) and Latham in the identical over and Josh Hazlewood grabbed three late order wickets to maintain New Zealand beneath 250. Australia discovered themselves early in a gap after the highest half of their batting order was blown away inside 12 overs. Trent Boult (4-40) trapped Finch lbw for 5, prolonging the opener's run drought which stays a serious concern for Australia. Boult went on to take away Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in his successive overs earlier than Matt Henry got here up with a double strike, which included the wicket of David Warner (20). Green and Carey dragged the hosts again into the competition with their constructive batting however extra drama was on the playing cards. Carey's 99-ball blitz ended when he pulled Lockie Ferguson to mid-on leaving Australia needing 31 runs from 65 balls with 4 wickets in hand. Maxwell and Mitchell Starc departed in successive overs and Green developed cramps and was seen hobbling in direction of the top of his knock. Green and Adam Zampa, who made 13 not out, returned after a quick rain interruption and Australia triumphed when Ferguson, bowling the forty sixth over, despatched down a large supply. IPL Round Up: Week 1
Toby Reynolds, 18/04/2021
It is one week into the start of the IPL and to everyone’s surprise, Mumbai Indians are not top! RCB have taken the tournament by storm, winning three from three under Virat Kohli’s leadership. At the other end of the table, Sunrises Hyderabad are propping up the table without a win. Although they have played two of the top sides, pundits and fans expected a much better start for Hydrabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB have always had a star-studded side but this seems to be the year that it has finally come together. Kohli has moved to the top of the order to replace Aaron Finch, allowing Maxwell to slip in at number four. Maxwell went all of last season without scoring a fifty or hitting any sixes. This season everything seems to have clicked for him and he has returned to the player we know him to be. Maxwell is the leading run scorer with 176 runs at an average of almost 60 with a strike rate of 150. He has been ably assisted by AB de Villiers, who has come in towards the end of the innings and really excelled with a strike rate of 190! He has played two match winning performances so far: taking RCB right to the death against Mumbai and hit 76 against KKR today.
RCB have also been helped on the bowling front by leading wicket taker Harshal Patel and New Zealand pace man Kyle Jamieson. Patel took five in the first match and has continued his form since. Jamieson has been more expensive than Patel but has also chipped in with some handy runs down the order. RCB also have a threatening spin trio of Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed and  Yuzvendra Chahal. All have had impacts on the matches but none with a match winning performance. As the tournament continues, I expect them to take more wickets and become more dangerous with the balls due to the pitches wearing.
Delhi Capitals
Last years runners up have had a varied start to season with a high scoring win and tight loss. They have an Indian packed batting line up with fifties for Dhawan, Shaw and Pant so far and have relied on Woakes in the first match and Rabada in the second to take wickets alongside opening bowler Avesh Khan. Surprise package of last season, Anrich Nortje is yet to play due to Woakes’ performances in the first matches while Nortje was playing for South Africa. It is likely he will come in for Tom Curran or Steve Smith as the tournament progresses. Curran has struggled to make a good impact on the tournament so far, being hit by Chris Morris to lose the match against Rajasthan and Smith can interchange with Indian vice captain Ajinkya Rahane as an anchor at number three.
Delhi will be hoping for their top order too keep making runs and converting their fifties into large scores and hopefully hundreds. Aussie all rounder, Marcus Stoinis has failed to score many runs yet and was hit for 15 in his one over of the tournament but todays innings bodes well as he guided Delhi to what turned out to be an easy chase after Dhawan batted very impressively for his 92.
Mumbai Indians
Rohit Sharma’s side were heavy favourites before the tournament started and since their first match against RCB have shown why. They lost a tight first match but have since shown they can hold their nerve against KKR and Sunrises in two matches that went right down to the wire. Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya have used the spinning wickets of Chennai well and are leading the attack well with Bumrah and Boult dominating at the death with perfect execution of their yorkers.
Their three matches have been low scorers with no side passing 160 yet which hasn’t allowed for their long batting line up to show off its skill. Suryakumar Yadav has continued his form from 2020 and leads their side in runs scored and is the only player in their squad to pass fifty. The return of Quinton de Kock seems to have made their batting line up more rounded, even after Lynn scored 49 in their season opener but Pollard and Hardik Pandya have not managed to find their form from the last few seasons as finishers.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK are surprisingly high on this table in my opinion (even if it due to Net Run Rate). They have a very mixed squad. It is full of all rounders with Bravo and Thakur down at numbers nine and ten, but their average age is extraordinarily high. They have six players over the age of 35 and half of their squad over 30. Dhoni seemed to have lost it a bit last year in the UAE and hasn’t found the form he had in the early years of the tournament.
Sam Curran and Moeen Ali are the two English players in the squad and have both been in fine form so far. Moeen Ali has shown why he was wasted sitting on the RCB bench over the past few years. He is their top scorer after two matches and is striking at 150, while Sam Curran is coming in lower down the order but still smashing the ball all round the park. He has a strike rate over 200 and won the battle against his older brother in the first match, taking him for over 20 in an over.
CSK failed to win the first match after a slow start meant they put up a score of 188, well below par and allowed the Delhi Capitals to chase it down with eight balls spare. In the second match, Deepak Chahar tore through the Punjab Kings top order taking 4-13 and limiting Punjab to 106 before they chased it down in 15 overs.
Rajasthan Royals
The English contingent of the IPL have had two ok first games. They have heavily relied on captain Sanju Samson in the first match, who blasted his third IPL century and was a few metres away from hitting a six off the final ball and carrying his side home to victory against Punjab Kings. The main controversy of this match was that Samson turned down a single off the penultimate ball to put Chris Morris on strike needing four to win. Morris was visibly angry to be sent back by his captain but in my opinion, Samson was more likely to hit a boundary (either the six needed to win or a four to take it to a super over) than his South African counterpart. The one criticism I have would be that Samson could have possibly come back for two and sacrificed Morris at the non-strikers end but would have risked running himself out.
Morris then showed why he Samson should have taken the single in the Royals second match, bludgeoning 36 from 18 after David Miller fell for 62. After the match, Morris said he knew his role was to slog at the end and was happy to do it for the team.
The biggest new for Rajasthan was that Ben Stokes would be out for three months and the rest of the tournament due to a fractured finger in the first match. This allows fellow Englishman Jos Buttler to slide up to the top of the order and Miller to take his place in the middle order. Buttler had an outstanding tournament a few years ago after he moved to the top of the order for Rajasthan and dominated so it is not all bad news for Royals fans.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Before the tournament, I predicted KKR would just about make the cut for the playoffs due to Eoin Morgan’s captaincy and their world class overseas players. This hasn’t been the case yet. Morgan has failed to fire with the bat; Russel, one of the most devastating batsmen ever in both T20 cricket and the IPL, has been more use with the ball; and both Shakib and Cummins haven’t made the biggest impact yet. I am sure this will soon change though.
For the first three matches, KKR have relied on their home grown talent at the top of the order to score their runs. Rana, Gill and Tripathi have all made runs at a good rate but KKR have failed to push on from being in good positions in matches with a lack of quick runs down the order. Against Mumbai, “DreRus” took 5-15 from two to slow Mumbai in the final few overs. However, he then struggled with the bat and scored a tentative 9 from 15 as KKR fell 10 runs short.
KKR have failed to win the tight matches so far which seems to be due to a lack of finishing ability from the middle order, if they can fix this problem (and with Morgan as captain, I am sure they can) then I think they have a good chance of finishing in the top four.
Punjab Kings
Even with KL “King Legend” Rahul averaging over 70 at 150, Punjab Kings (formerly King’s XI Punjab) have struggled so far this year. They have just lost to Dehli Capitals after setting an impressive 195 to win but their inexperienced bowling line up failed to defend it. Rahul and Agrawal put on 122 with Agrawal smashing 69 from 36, while his partner crawled along to 61 off 51 before Hooda and Shahrukh Khan came in to blast the ball round at the end.
This was the second high scoring match they have been apart of. They have a strong and experienced top order but have a younger and less experienced bowling line up and almost no tail a Richardson bats at number seven. Arshdeep Singh is only 22 and this is both Meredith and Richardson’s first seasons in the IPL. Shami is their only seam bowler over 25, but is backed up by two experience spinners. You could see this inexperience in the match vs Delhi as Dhawan took the game away from Punjab. As the tournament progresses, it will be interesting to see how the younger players will adapt to conditions and deal with an increase in pressure and if Punjab try to lengthen their batting lineup.
Sunrises Hyderabad
David Warner’s side are sat at the bottom of the table without a win. They have lost three close matches. With three players in the top 11 for runs scorers so far, you might expect such a strong squad to be further up the table, but the lack of power hitters down the order seems to be catching up with Sunrises. Bairstow slotted in at number four in the first matches to accommodate for Saha up the top and performed well but struggled to stay at the crease during the key moments. He was caught slogging across the line when Hyderabad were in a commanding position, causing a batting collapse and loss against KKR and has since moved back up to opening.
Hyderabad have been changing their team a huge amount so far during the IPL. They have played six overseas players, as well as having Kane Williamson on the sideline. Hyderabad were often selected as the side most likely to steal the crown from Mumbai before the season started but unless they can find some finishers, it seems unlikely that this will happen.
Rashid Khan, as usual, has been performing very well. He has four wickets with an economy rate of 5.33. He hasn’t blown any teams away yet, but arguably more importantly, his economy is under six, building pressure and helping others in the side take wickets. If he can keep this up, it is likely Hyderabad will continue restricting oppositions to low totals.
Predictions
From the first week it is always hard to tell how the season will progress. I think it is likely that Mumbai, RCB and Delhi will progress to the knock-out stages but the fourth place is up for grabs. Right now I think I would go for KKR, just because they haven’t hit their heights yet and I can see them start winning matches they shouldn’t if Morgan and Russell get into form.

Thriller!
Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
Location: Dubai International Stadium
Game Analysis, Post Match Thoughts and Stand out performances
Tumblr media
This game was played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and four time finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore. Interestingly the teams were lead by India’s captain and vice captain with Virat Kohli captaining RCB and Rohit Sharma captaining the Mumbai Indians.
Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first which was not a bad start as RCB hit the ground running after a great opening partnership between Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal. Finch secured his first half century of the season but got dismissed by Trent Boult with Pollard taking a catch near the boundary. Virat Kohli the skipper walked out next. Kohli looked to make a statement of intent as he had been kept quiet with the bat in the previous two games. However it was not a good day for Kohli as he was dismissed for only 3 runs by Rahul Chahar. His fellow Indian teammate Rohit Sharma took the catch. RCB was under pressure and needed a good performance and they had the man to do just that. His name is AB de Villiers and he just nailed it along with Padikkal with both scoring half centuries. Padikkal also got out the same way as Finch and was out. Next came Shivam Dube who did the unthinkable, taking RCB to the 200+ run mark. RCB secured a total of 201 runs with the bat. Mumbai had hard work to do in order to win the game. Mumbai got off to a rough start with the bat after Rohit Sharma, de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav all went early in the game which proved to be very costly going forward. Hardik Pandya then came on to form a decent partnership with Ishan Kishan after hitting Adam Zampa for 2 sixes but then getting dismissed by the same man when he tried to go for another six but the ball went straight to Pawan Negi. Mumbai looked to be in trouble now and Pollard and Kishan were the only in form batsman left in the squad. They played slow until the CEAT tyres strategic timeout. Only god knows what they heard or did in those 2 and a half minutes because in the last 8 overs they gave everything starting with Kishan hitting a couple of sixes against Saini and Pollard getting started against Zampa and Chahal. Mumbai needed over 100 runs in the last 8 overs and brought it down to only 38 in the last 3 overs. At this point Pollard and Kishan had to hit a four or six with every opportunity they got and boy did they take their chances. Mumbai needed a total of 19 runs in the last over and started off with Ishan Kishan taking two runs after a disappointing hit. He made up for that with two sixes which bought Mumbai an opportunity to win the game needing just 5 runs off 2 balls. Kishan went for the win but got out after a mistimed shot. What was sad was that he got out for 99 runs, so disappointing to not see him hit the air and not getting a century. Now it was up to Pollard, it was do or die 5 runs of 1 ball if it was a six Mumbai win, if it was a 4 it would go to super over and it did go to a super over in fact the 2nd one of the tournament in just 10 matches! Mumbai made an interesting decision by not sending Ishan Kishan for the super over and had a fairly disappointing super over scoring only 7 runs and losing Pollard who hit their only boundary. RCB were expected to win but had a hard time with Bumarh’s yorkers but ABD still managed to hit a four after a bouncer by Bumrah and left Virat Kohli on strike to hit the winning runs and RCB won the game.
Tumblr media
Firstly I would like to congratulate RCB on their unbelievable performance and well deserved win. Good job! Mumbai were honestly never supposed to play the super over. I thought RCB would defeat us comprehensively looking at the way we were batting but boy was I wrong. Pollard and Ishan Kishan were our best players and gave us fans hope that Mumbai had a chance. About Ishan Kishan not going for the super over, Rohit Sharma later confirmed in an interview that Ishan Kishan was in no state to go out for the super over as he was exhausted which I and other MI fans understand. So well played RCB and good luck for the rest of your campaign! As for MI, a tough game against Kings XI Punjab next in Abu Dhabi.
Tumblr media
Some performances that stood out to me in the match were the batting performances of Ab de Villiers, Pollard and Ishan Kishan. Ab just nailed it with his performance in RCB’s batting innings and the super over. Pollard was the star of the show hitting 50 runs in 19 balls and giving Mumbai hope. Ishan Kishan was sensational and showed his potential and talent after a couple of disappointing campaigns with MI. These three players were just outstanding and in the end cricket won the hearts of fans this game because it just tells us it’s not over, anything can happen and it’s anybody’s game.

off the rack #1283
Monday, October 14, 2019
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to one and all. Thank-you for reading this. The Jee Gang gathered for a turkey dinner yesterday with the littlest 2-month-old Ashton being passed around like a hot potato because he was tired and cranky. His mom got him settled but you couldn't hear his tiny cries for the raucous noise from his cousins. The kids took over the larger formal dining room now that they outnumber us old folks. It was a nice big family affair.
Gwenpool Strikes Back #3 - Leah Williams (writer) David Baldeon (art) Jesus Aburtov (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Gwenpool tries to save herself from cancellation by holding a "Contest of Champions" in this issue. Guest stars galore. This thing is so much fun.
Catwoman #16 - Joelle Jones (story & art) Laura Allred (colours) Saida Temofonte (letters). I'm glad I checked the credits on this issue since I said that I was going to let this cat out after reading last issue. I will always read a book by Joelle Jones even though this one had me befuddled with some jumping back and forth in time and the added "Year of the Villain" thing. I am curious to find out Catwoman's decision.
Loki #4 - Daniel Kibblesmith (writer) Oscar Bazaldua (pencils) Oscar Bazaldua & Victor Olazaba (inks) David Curiel & Carlos Lopez (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I love a good trickster. Loki uses a good one to defeat Nightmare. I like this Loki.
Detective Comics #1013 - Peter J. Tomasi (writer) Doug Mahnke (pencils) Keith Champagne & Christian Alamy (inks) David Baron (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). It's Batman versus Mister Freeze as the super villain tries to resurrect his dead wife. Batman's flame thrower costume is a cosplayer's wet dream
Doctor Doom #1 - Christopher Cantwell (writer) Salvador Larroca (art) Guru-eFX (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). This was a pleasant surprise. The art caught my eye but the story is really good too. There's no sign of the good guy Sorcerer Supreme from a while ago. Just good old fashioned arrogant Victor. He scoffed at a new technology to reverse global warming and is accused of being jealous of it because it was invented by Reed Richards and Tony Stark. When disaster strikes, Latveria is blamed and Doctor Doom sacrifices himself for his country. The mystery is who framed him and I will keep reading to find out.
Web of the Black Widow #2 - Jody Houser (writer) Stephen Mooney (art) Triona Farrell (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). What the!? Two Black Widows? Doctor Doom isn't the only one being framed for murder. I liked the clever cut-out on Nat's bathing suit.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #11 - Saladin Ahmed (writer) Ze Carlos (art pages 1-8) Ig Guara (art pages 9-20) Dono Sanchez-Almara with Protobunker (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Miles must solve the super hero's dilemma of saving a family member or a stranger's life. His decision leads to a confrontation with the Prowler. Is it Uncle Aaron? I can't wait to find out.
White Fox #1 - Alyssa Wong (writer) Kevin Libranda & Geoffo (art) Israel Silva (colours)
VC's Joe Sabino (letters). Another Agent of Atlas super hero gets her origin story told. She's based on Korean folklore. It was very well done and almost makes me want to read the new team book. There's also a peek at the Future Avengers by Alyssa Wong (writer), Ale Garza (art), Dono Sanchez-Almara with Protobunker (colours) and VC's Joe Sabino (letters). They're an Asian version of the Young Avengers but these guys used to be Hydra agents in training. Read on if you're wondering what turned them into good guys.
Age of Conan Valeria #3 - Meredith Finch (writer) Aneke (art) Andy Troy (colours) VC's Travis Lanham (letters). I wish the art inside was a nice as the Jay Anacleto cover.
Marvel Action Spider-Man #9 - Delilah S. Dawson (writer) Fico Ossio (art) Ronda Pattison (colours) Shawn Lee (letters). The Black Cat gets caged as the kids finally work together and start to treat each other with respect. Next, things get even darker as Venom attacks.
Batman 100 Page Giant #1 - There are five superb stories in this $4.99 US one-shot and you'll feel like you just read five $3.99 comic books when you hit the last page. The only story that was disappointing was the Batwoman story mainly because she was fighting a lame villain named Lord Death Man. It was written by Steve Orlando, who has never impressed me. The other four stories more than make up for it though, especially Scott Snyder's lengthy contribution. This book is a steal at twice the price.
The Amazing Spider-Man #31 - Nick Spencer (writer) Ryan Ottley (pencils) Cliff Rathburn (inks) Nathan Fairbairn (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). More hints are given to the secret identity of the super villain Kindred. Definitely related to Norman Osborn. That mystery is the only thing keeping me reading this book. As if the waters weren't muddy enough, the guy in the straight jacket isn't even Norman. I hope we don't get strung along too much longer because there will come a point where I say screw it, I don't care anymore.
Batman Universe #4 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Nick Derington (art) Dave Stewart (colours) Josh Reed & Tom Napolitano (letters). I don't mind this time traveling if it means that we see Batman and Green Lantern team up with Jonah Hex. The chase is on as Vandal Savage gets his hands on his prize. I know I've said that I don't like time travel and Vandal Savage, but this is a Bendis book and I'm a sucker.
Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #2 - Jody Houser (writer) Adriana Melo (pencils) Mark Morales (inks) Hi-Fi (colours) Gabriela Downie (letters). I think the Floronic Man chowed down on Swampthing and Ivy is next on his menu. Well, it's Harley to the rescue and the girls seek help from a fellow super villain to see what's wrong with Ivy. I'm reading this because it looks so pretty.
Powers of X #6 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) R.B. Silva & Pepe Larraz (art) Marte Gracia & David Curiel (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). The house is built and the power has been connected for a new X-verse. Jonathan Hickman has managed to make mutants relevant again for me. There are a half a dozen new mutant books coming out in the next six weeks starting with X-Men #1 hitting the racks October 16. I'll be reading them all to see how I feel about them but I can't imagine that they'll be all worthwhile.
Event Leviathan #5 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Alex Maleev (art) Josh Reed (letters). I'm curious to find out who Leviathan is but it's not going to have a big impact on me since I'm not a huge DC fan. I'm sure DC fans might be able to suss out the secret given the Manhunter clue in this issue but I'm going to have to wait until next issue when all is revealed.
Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity #1 - Kami Garcia (writer) Mico Suayan & Mike Mayhew (art) Richard Starkings of Comicraft (letters). I love new and different takes on iconic characters and this one is a killer. Harleen Quinzel is Doctor Harley Quinn, GCPD profiler, who is working a 5-year-old cold case of the murder of a hospital employee. Meanwhile there are other new murders landing on her desk. The writing is tight and the characterisations are vivid, helped by the beautiful art. Mico's black and white art chronicles the present while Mike's gorgeous colour art handles the flashbacks. DC's Black Label imprint is well worth checking out if you're a mature reader. This mystery not only looked good but made me feel good after I finished reading. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Contagion #2 - Ed Brisson (writer) Stephen Segovia (art) Veronica Gandini (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). I know I said that I wasn't going to read any more of this 5-issue mini but this was on the racks with the awesome Power Man and Iron Fist cover so I snagged one after I finished reading all the others for the week. This issue was better thought out and the story flowed smoothly. Ben takes Sue, Reed and Johnny to Doctor Strange for help and the two of them go back to Yancy Street to contain the infectious bad guy. Danny and Luke are there helping the first responders and a couple of surprise super heroes show up too. The villain is briefly subdued but Doc Strange and Power Man succumb to the disease at the end. Uh-oh. The next issue teaser has Jessica Jones so that's reason enough for me to want to read it.

Australia Blow Away New Zealand For Sixth World Cup Title
T20 World Cup - Final - Australia vs New Zealand - Dubai
Australia bagged their sixth World Cup in cricket that came in the form of the T20 championship by beating trans-Tasman neighbours New Zealand in the tournament's final that had very little by way of excitement and tension in Dubai on Sunday night.
With five previous World Cups in 50-over cricket, the Australians at last laid their hands on the 20-over World Cup as they chased down a 173 target and won with seven balls to spare with Mitchell Marsh declared player-of-the-match for an unbeaten 77 that batted New Zealand out of the contest.
There was nothing extraordinary that took place in the final apart from New Zealand's captain Kane Williamson top scoring with 85 that had 10 fours and three sixes when the chips were down and Marsh holding the Australian innings together with man-of-the-series David Warner (53) after skipper and opener Aaron Finch was out for 5 in the third over of the innings with the total at 15.
Warner in the process posted his third half century in the tournament as he slammed four balls to the boundary and sent three more balls out of the ground for sixes and starred in a 92-run stand for the second wicket with Marsh that proved to be the turning point in the match.
New Zealand's bowling plans took a severe beating that put the team in disarray as their spinner Ish Sodhi had one of his bad days on the field when he conceded 40 runs in just three overs while at the same time bowling three wide-balls that only made it easy for Australia.
Fast bowler Tim Southee also proved expensive as Australia plundered 43 runs off the 23 legal deliveries that were bowled while everything else fell on the shoulders of Trent Boult who gave away just 18 runs from his four overs while taking the wickets of Finch and Warner.
Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood played a similar role to what Boult did, but the difference was that he ended up on the winning side after taking three wickets for 16 runs off his four overs.
Hazlewood was the only bowler that New Zealand could not take any chances in attacking his spot-on deliveries unlike Mitchell Starc who was hit for 60 runs in his four overs with Williamson smashing 22 runs in one over bowled by him.
Scores: New Zealand 172 for 4 in 20 overs (Martin Guptill 28, Kane Williamson 85, Josh Hazlewood 3 for 16) Australia 173 for 2 in 18.1 overs (David Warner 53, Mitchell Marsh 77 not out, Glenn Maxwell 28 not out, Trent Boult 2 for 18)

The captain hit back with  more fours off left-arm short Starc who was taken for 60 runs from his 4 overs, to get a few momentum into the innings.
Zampa sent Guptill trudging lower back to the dugout after the opener's 35-ball 28 but Williamson saved up the rate with  sixes off Maxwell.
Williamson once more picked out Starc to destroy four fours and one six in a 22-run sixteenth over and put on sixty eight with Glenn Phillips, who made 18.

Australia thump West Indies by 133 runs in rain-hit opening ODI | Cricket News
Tumblr media
Australia's stand-in captain Alex Carey scored a half-century and pace bowler Mitchell Starc took five wickets as they beat West Indies by 133 runs in a rain-hit opening match of their one-day international series in Barbados on Tuesday. Chasing a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) adjusted 257 runs for victory after Australia scored 252-9 in 49 overs after three rain delays, the hosts suffered a collapse to fold for 123 with only returning skipper Kieron Pollard (56) offering resistance. Starc did most of the damage for the visitors, who came into the contest at Bridgetown after being hammered 4-1 in their T20 series, with a superb 5-48 which included the wicket of Pollard who came back into the side after a hamstring problem. Josh Hazlewood also impressed with 3-11 from six overs as the visitors took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Carey, filling in for regular skipper Aaron Finch who aggravated a knee problem in last week's fifth Twenty20 between the teams, won the toss and elected to bat as Australia made a steady start at Bridgetown. Josh Philippe (39), Ben McDermott (28) and Mitchell Marsh (20) all got starts but it was the skipper who made the most with 67 off 87 balls. Along with Ashton Turner (49), he added 104 runs for the fifth wicket before the team capitulated, with West Indies leg-spinner Hayden Walsh picking up his maiden ODI five-wicket haul in the space of 16 balls. "I thought the wicket might have played a bit different to what it did. But for us to adapt and put a score on the board, but then for the Powerplay to go the way it did for us was fantastic," Carey said. "Ashton played a crucial role. I was probably cruising along a bit and he was getting on with it, he took the pressure off." Pollard said he was impressed with his bowlers despite the defeat. "Par score here is about 260-270. Being able to restrict them to about 250-odd I think was a fantastic effort by the bowlers," Pollard said. "If I'm brutally honest I thought we gave away about 20-25 runs in the field with some freebies." Source link Read the full article
