Blade Runner 2049 live-action sequel TV series, Blade Runner 2099, is in the works at Scott Free Productions in association with Alcon Entertainment and Amazon Studios.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original 1982 Blade Runner movie, is executive producing the series. Silka Luisa is writing and executive producing the series. Andrew Kosove and his Alcon co-founder Broderick Johnson are exec producing the series along with Michael Green, who wrote Blade Runner 2049, Ben Roberts and Cynthia Yorkin as well as Scott Free Productions’ David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger.

‘The Expanse’ Renewed For Sixth & Final Season By Amazon Ahead Of Season 5 Premiere

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Studios has set an end date for The Expanse. The popular sci-fi drama has received an early renewal for Season 6, which will be its last. Not returning for the final season is original cast member Cas Anvar, who faced a slew of sexual misconduct allegations during the summer. The rest of the cast, led by Steven Strait, and longtime Expanse showrunner Naren Shankar will be back.

The Season 6 renewal comes three weeks before the December 16 Season 5 debut on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. I hear Season 6 tentatively is slated to begin production January 20, with the target start date subject to change amid fluid pandemic conditions.

The Alcon-produced The Expanse, based on James S.A. Corey’s best-selling novels, originally was picked up by Syfy, where it aired for three seasons. Following its cancellation in 2018, the show’s army of passionate fans launched a massive Save Our Show campaign, which helped seal the deal at Amazon. The space drama’s fourth season was released globally as an Amazon Original Series in December 2019.

“From the moment we committed to bringing this show to life up until this final season, we have worked tirelessly to honor the vision of the writers,” said Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, co-CEOs and co-Founders of Alcon Television Group and executive producers of The Expanse. “We have prided ourselves on having one of the most diverse casts on television and giving a platform to stories that matter. The Expanse is set in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt have long been in opposition with one another. When the crew of the Rocinante uncovers an ancient alien technology, a vast conspiracy begins to emerge — one that will bring the solar system to the brink of war. The Expanse is a high-action, sci-fi adventure that explores the depth of humanity against the far-spanning reaches of the known universe.

“The dedication and artistry of everyone who helps bring The Expanse to the screen is incredible,” said Shankar, who has served as executive producer/showrunners on all seasons. “Our fans are awesome, and we cannot wait to get rolling on Season 6.”

The Hugo Award-winning series was developed and scripted by the Oscar-nominated Children of Men writing duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who executive produce the series alongside Shankar, Kosove, Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown and Dan Nowak. The Expanse is produced by Alcon Television Group. The studio in June launched an independent investigation after series star Anvar faced numerous accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

The fifth season of The Expanse will launch December 16 with three episodes. After that, one new episode will be released weekly through February 3.

Chris Pratt is voicing Garfield in Alcon Entertainment and Sony Pictures’ new animated film. Mark Dindal is directing from a script by David Reynolds. Jim Davis, Bridget McMeel, and Craig Sost are serving as executive producers. John Cohen, Steven P. Wegner, Andrew Kosove, and Broderick Johnson will serve as producers. DNEG Animation is animating the film and will also produce.

Ben Lawson (Designated Survivor) as Alex, a fire chief in Indianapolis who clearly is in over his head with the girls but is reluctant to hire help and can’t imagine letting a stranger look after his children. Overly protective and a bit controlling, the last thing he wants is to welcome his late wife’s chaotic, disruptive and inappropriate mother into the home. After seeing Nana interacting with the girls, he’s forced to reconsider his stance; she might be exactly what the family needs in the face of their recent loss. (Mar 15)

Bill Bellamy (Def Comedy Jam) as Burke, Alex’s enthusiastic co-worker- this firefighter isn’t the brightest bulb but he’s a great pal and sounding board for Alex. He was so eager to rescue a cat in a tree and get a taste of some “real action” that he accidentally crashed into another engine at the scene. He has a crush on Audrey and is secretly sleeping with her, unbeknownst to Alex. (Mar 11)

Annunciata la serie animata “Blade Runner: Black Lotus”

L’anime sarà distribuito globalmente da Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll e Adult Swim hanno annunciato di aver stretto una partnership con Alcon Entertainment per la produzione di una serie animata basata sull’universo cinematografico di “Blade Runner 2049″, sequel del capolavoro cyberpunk di Ridley Scott diretto da Denis Villeneuve e uscito l’anno scorso nelle nostre sale.

La serie in questione si intitolerà “Blade Runner: Black Lotus” e nei suoi 13 episodi racconterà una storia ambientata fra gli eventi delle due pellicole, nel 2032. È stato inoltre confermato che vi appariranno dei personaggi già conosciuti dai fan.

A dirigere il progetto presso Sola Digital Arts saranno Shinji Aramaki (Capitn Harlock, Appleseed) e Kenji Kamiyama (Cyborg 009: Call of Justice, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex). Il produttore creativo sarà Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) e Crunchyroll ne distribuirà globalmente gli episodi sottotitolati.

Watanabe, fra l’altro, ha diretto e sceneggiato il cortometraggio “Blade Runner 2022: Black Out”, pubblicato assieme ad altri due (con attori in carne ed ossa) come prequel per introdurre all’universo espanso dalla pellicola di Villeneuve. Lo trovate di seguito.
