i think there's still a few hours left for your gala, right?? 👁 if so, id like to request 💻 the angst prompt "no, im actually not ok," w austin.. maybe some h/c after the oscars? 🥺🙏
i don't know what i'm feeling
fandom: austin butler | elvis ( 2022 ) rating: g, t if you really squint. pairing: austin butler x gender neutral reader word count: 802 warnings: austin being sad post oscars. talk about the oscars. talk about the whale. author’s note: thank you anon and you were right i did have a few more hours when you sent this to me and was hoping someone would allow me the chance to do a hurt and comfort with this. full disclosure to everyone, i said it once before, if austin was going to lose to anyone, i did want it to be brendan because i was iffy on colin. however, i despise of the whale as a movie- and truly wish brendan had won for literally anything else. so do not take anything i have austin say as my own opinion on the movie itself. i hate it. this is for my 1k gala with the angst prompt of “no, i’m actually not ok.” and saints preserve me i'll live in my universe where i made this boy drunkenly say to his girl some nasty sexy things post oscar. also i'm not the biggest fan of this but i can't tell if that's purely because i'm in my own head about it or not. still hope you enjoy. also i didn't mess up my word count for the third time in all my gala pieces, what are you talking about.

It's an honor to be nominated. It's an honor to be put in the same league as actors who've been in the business for decades. It's an honor to be nominated along someone who's going to grow with him in their crafts. If he was going to lose to anyone everyone had said it was going to be him or Brendan and damn if he didn't think the man deserved it. The Whale was tough to watch but it was good- it was the sort of thing that earned an actor their Oscar. He shouldn't be- He shouldn't be feeling the way he does. Bill didn't get a single award all season and Colin went from a frontrunner with him to the afterthought along with Paul.
He can't even talk about this with Barry because it was always Ke's one to lose and he wasn't going to. Maybe Angela- but hadn't hers been wrapped in the grief from losing Chadwick. He still can't believe he heard Samuel L Jackson make a noise for him of all people behind him. He should be happy, this is the start of him finally making a difference. Making his fans proud and happy for him like Elvis. Making his mom proud that all her work wasn't for nothing. Making Lisa and Priscilla proud wasn't for nothing but why does he feel as if it was in this moment. Why is his brain just telling him this is how it starts? He'll have this whirlwind of three years and then three projects back to back to back only to have nothing afterward. Angela feels him tense a little- she must have because she looks at him and squeezes his hand once again before nodding over to you.
You- you can help ease his mind, once you're in the car he'll talk to you, whisper in your ear how this was not how he thought this night would go. His eyes meet yours and you smile gently before shrugging a little. He watches your lips mouth "love you" before he focuses on the last of the awards. It's a bit of organized chaos leaving the theater and it almost seems as if there's just an Elvis line of people walking around hand in hand like a bunch of kindergarteners before Austin and you finally get into a car and you squeeze his hand. "You okay?"
If it was anyone else, if it was Baz or Liv or Catherine or Kelvin or Luke- if it was anyone he'd lie. But you deserve the truth in a way that very few people do in this circumstance. "No, I'm actually not. I- I don't even know what I'm feeling. I'm mad but I shouldn't. I was nominated for an Oscar. I used to dream about this. I almost won an Oscar!"
"You have a Golden Globe! And a BAFTA!" You remind him, your voice matching his in volume before your hand moves to cup his cheek. There's a wet bit that you brush away with your thumb. "You're allowed to feel something, Austin. It doesn't make you a bad person or take away from Brendan's win because I know you, I know we're going to go the party and you're gonna see him and he's gonna give you a big dad hug and you're gonna gush. And you're gonna bounce up and down with Ke and make sure Baz doesn't drink too much because Catherine asked you too."
The laugh that bubbles up from him is wet sounding, covered in unshed tears as he sniffles. "Forgot how I'm gonna tell Luke about Polly making me do some moves for party tricks. And how Kelvin is going to remind me to-"
"Chill out?" You finish like that's actually what Austin was going to say before he shakes his head, allowing himself to just rest his head in your hand.
"Something like that. I just thought- I let my hopes get up." Austin whispers and you frown.
"No one blames you for that, you know. I don't. Tell you what. When we get to the party, how about we just sit in the car for a little bit until you calm down. And then when we get there, we just relax. Just for a little bit until you stop hurting so much. I'll shoo away the cameras with my charm." Austin raises an eyebrow knowing that isn't always how things go with you and him.
"Yeah? No fighting that'll get us both in trouble?"
"Pinky swear." You hold out your pinky as you move to kiss Austin. "Now, how about we focus on our plans for after tonight. I believe someone promised me a vacation?"
Austin's answer is a hum before he gives you another kiss. "How do you feel about the mountains?"

is there a single photo of jonathan and simone together done specifically for s2 promo? and not the promo photos in costumes, in character, and i think even those are done individually and then just get photoshopped together, right? i can't remember or find a single photo that's not from an event (premiere, baftas, various interviews) but a photoshoot, of j&s together. considering they both had individual shoots for magazines, it doesn't make sense to use covid as an excuse since one more person would hardly matter. and i don't even mean some elaborate photoshoot with multiple looks and props and location etc etc, but just a normal photo of the two of them.
No they didn't... :)
And that's the problem isn't it? People keep saying it was pandemic but s1 dropped at the end of 2020... literally middle of a pandemic and I remember when I saw Rege and Phoebe photo-shoot the first thing I asked was is it not pandemic? But I guess pandemic is a real problem in march 2022 when it was over in most countries. And after s2 it was photo-shoot after photo-shoot that dropped from both Simone and Jonny. They were both invited to so many event but somehow never at the same place together lol. Met Gala was the first event that they were together, in one place, at the same time since s2 premiere and there's not one single photo of them lmao and I have no idea what's up with that help

Dries Van Noten’s most memorable looks, as the Belgian fashion designer steps down
Tumblr media
Many famous people, such as Florence Pugh, Cate Blanchett, and Margot Robbie, have worn Dries Van Noten's designs. After 38 years, Belgian designer Dries Van Noten is stepping down as creative director of his namesake fashion brand. "In the early '80s, as a young guy in Antwerp, my dream was to have a voice in fashion. Van Noten fulfilled his dream with the help of many supportive people. He now wants to focus on other things. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dries Van Noten (@driesvannoten) He will step down at the end of June. His last collection will be menswear in spring/summer 2025, in Paris in June. His studio team will create the women's collection. They have been working closely together for years. I have complete confidence that they will do a great job." This doesn't mark the end of the Dries Van Noten fashion brand The House that Van Noten treasures so much will soon announce a new creative director, and he has stated that he will continue to stay involved in it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dries Van Noten (@driesvannoten) Van Noten completed a fashion design course at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium in 1981. After opening his flagship store in Antwerp in 1989, he became a member of 'The Antwerp Six,' a group of Belgian creatives revolutionizing the fashion industry. The group included Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs, and Marina Yee. Five years later, he debuted his first collection. In 1991, he debuted at Paris Fashion Week with a menswear collection. Two years later, he launched womenswear and became a regular on the schedule. Fashion firm Puig acquired a majority share in the brand in 2018. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dries Van Noten (@driesvannoten) Over the years, Van Noten has built up a reputation as a quietly experimental fashion designer. He blends the old with the new. He plays around with silhouette. This is mainly seen in the ballooning, oversized shapes of coats and sleeves. The design was showcased at his recent Paris Fashion Week show in February. Florals are a recurring theme in his clothes, and Van Noten says the flowers often inspire him in his garden. While Van Noten's work isn't a red carpet mainstay like some of the other major brands on the Paris Fashion Week calendar, celebrities make an impact when they choose to wear his designs. Florence Pugh was nominated for a BAFTA for her role as Amy March in Little Women back in 2020, and she brought a welcome splash of color to the red carpet in her pink and black Van Noten creation. A fuchsia dress-meets-cape was worn over a black mini dress, with the voluminous sleeves and bow detailing giving a subtle nod to Amy March's fashion. Pink and black were central to Van Noten's work in 2020, as Margot Robbie also wore that color combination to the London premiere of Birds Of Prey the same year. She paired her full black skirt with a feathered bralette, tapping into the trend for underwear as outerwear, and donned hot pink opera gloves. Cate Blanchett chose to wear Dries Van Noten to the Oscars in 2008 when she was pregnant with her third child, Ignatius. The midnight blue gown had an empire line for her bump and gold accents. Additionally, the sequinned flowers on the skirt were particularly eye-catching. Kirsten Dunst wore a floral Van Noten gown to the Baby2Baby Gala in Nov 2023. Noomi Rapace wore a navy and white floral print dress with statement red gloves at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2022. The dress, created by Van Noten, featured dramatic oversized sleeves. When has Meghan's manifesting worked (and FAILED) post-Megxit? by u/Boomer00002
When has Meghan's manifesting worked (and FAILED) post-Megxit? With all of the latest "will she or won't she be the face of Dior" PR, most are quick to realize the recent press coverage looks to be more of Meghan's manifesting. But after the victory laps following Megxit / book deal / Netflix / Spotify - what would you consider M & H's successes and failures when it comes to her "manifesting"? In no particular order, here are mine.Successes / Hits -purchased awards for press (NAACP, People's Choice, Gracie, Ripple of Hope, etc.)Meghan "winning" vs. Mail on SundayOprahH landed Better Up and Aspen Institute C-suite gigsmaking the stage at Vax Livea new baby daughter cast member in the familyTime 100brought inverted-nipple cups into pubic consciousness (Intrepid Gala)both became "best selling authors" (on paper and in PR, before figure adjustments)landing talent like Mariah Carey on Archetypes podcastmaking a clip for Elton John that aired on the big screen at his tourphotographed at Ellen's partynew face made it on the Lakers big screenphotographed near Cameron Diaz at sushi placeFailures / Misses -no Oscar / Emmy / Grammy / Tony / BAFTA / Golden Globe red carpets or award presentationsNo Vanity Fair, Beyoncé, or Elton John post-partiesno Met Galano Fashion Weekdiscovery that M's big NYT mythcarriage feature was copied straight from Stefanie Tongbeing stripped of privileges one year post-Megxitno "UN = global domination" reaction after a mostly empty-room speechnew seating assignments (and no balcony) for Royal eventsno one showed up for a slice of Lil's 1st birthday lemon & elderflower cakeno 2022 'Worldwide Domination Tour' because HMTQ ruined it by passing awayno 2023 'Year of Reconciliation'Netflix dropping "Pearl" (and possibly them 🍋 entirely)no SNL for Harry, no Jimmy Fallon for Meghanstill no half-in / half-out Royal option on the tableFrogmore evictionno co-Coronation for Arch's 4th birthdayno "catastrophic" car chaseThe Carlyle refused to take their GrouponHarry and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad cross-examinationsSpotify firing / Bill Simmons takedownAnd these are just off the top of my head...
