Finished a small Batad (smalltad? Bittad?) and continued to stray farther and farther away from the original pattern. How many more changes until it's the Batad of Theseus? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Would Stephen West approve or disapprove of this many changes to his pattern? 🤔 Will I ever undo the bind off and replace it with a super stretchy Jenys, as I should, so it drapes better? 🔮 ... so many questions, so few answers ...

Batad
Climb up the hills, then down the terraces. Between the rice fields, the way is tortuous, yet gorgeous. It's not because you can see your destination that it's easy to reach. Oh, and beware of the snakes. Our legs hurts from going all the way down to the cascade, but it was worth the view. You told us your elders can walk this way easy, I salute them, then, and i respectfully recon they're way fit than us.

The Rice Terraces In The Paper Bill
Some of our companions didn't want to visit the Batad Rice Terraces, but three (3) of us really wanted to go there. So, we went behind their backs and went there... They were a bit pissed with us for sneaking to the Batad Rice Terraces, but it was worth it! The Batad Rice Terraces is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an icon of the Philippines.

Do. 30.03.2023 (Tag 9):

Nestled in the heart of the Philippines, the Banaue Rice Terraces stand as a testament to the ingenuity and rich cultural heritage of the Filipino people. Carved into the Cordillera Central mountain range, these terraces are a stunning display of ancient agricultural engineering, earning them a well-deserved spot on the global stage.

The highlight of any visit to Banaue is undoubtedly the iconic Banaue Rice Terraces. Often referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," these terraces were carved into the mountains over 2,000 years ago by the Ifugao people. The engineering marvel allows the cultivation of rice on steep slopes, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.
