Porridge with religion and politics.

Let this be the so called another set of Kahani suno. Where I write about what I actually want to say.

Today, I thought of putting up something that is quite controversial outside the world of me. Yes, about the recent Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. So, yesterday, it was a celebration for all Hindu institutions, and as I work at such a place, where the importance for Hinduism and spreading Hinduism is much more than what I could say, it was even great. Continuous Nama Jaba from morning 6 to evening 6. Wow, the power still hits different. That’s not the thing here.

It has been complete controversy about the place, the history and etc. As an ex political in the international studies student, where I had to learn a lot unknown factors, yes, my perspectives towards a lot of parties and people changed. Which was like an eye opening. Where I believed things just like that. Blindly. What is the fact now is that the botheration about mixing up religion and politics. Of course, it is stupid that the person is thinking and doing in the name of religion and bhakti. Bhakti is completely different from what we are actually asked to do now. Yes, there it is. It is not something to be forced upon. It has to come out of us just how we show out our interests. And as secular state, it is something that stays and comes out of our inner us. Its no more secular if it is suppressing other religion and religious practices or creating riots in the name god and religion. It is no more secular if it tries to dominate. It is not secular when you try to make a porridge with politics and religion.

I know that I am not wording it properly, because, there I am with the fear to open up the names and stuff. The fear our secular state had dropped on me. So, when I was doing my post-graduation in International Studies, which was completely new to me for the first semester, and later, I noticed something. We were scared to spit out the name of our prime minister. When I enquired about this to couple of my friends, they were like, “baby, we shouldn’t. its India, you know.” Well, I knew. I knew the fear. I knew the freedom of expression being suppressed by fear in each one of us. Realization hits different. It really hits different.

I posted yesterday a story on my WhatsApp where I was chanting the mantra along with my colleagues and students. On the other end, I saw posts coming up with the preamble of our constitution. I had to re look about the history behind it and bit of court verdicts. Whatever. I posted it out of my bhakti towards the lord. As mentioned earlier, the power of chanting a mantra is immense. Whatever god you are with, whatever religion you follow, your mantra is the key to peace of mind. Of course, the controversies are apart. It’s about as someone said somewhere that the Ram is inside you, your heart and not inside the building or the monument. That is what all matters.
