What's next?

Well, I have to make the bracket itself. As you can see, there's a bit more cats than I was intending to have, which means that certain polls in round 1 will have more than just two options. I can already tell you that a lot of the cats from the same fandoms are going to be eliminated in round one. That's why I kept them in. I'm planning on making up the first round match ups based heavily on the similarities between cats and the fandoms they're from. ALSO as you've probably noticed, some cats come in a bundle. That's because they're a family. I'm not doing this to Kitty Softpaws and Puss (at least YET), because even though they also get married in the end, there's a huge gap in their submission numbers. If you're wondering, how big, you may want to know that up to Tigger from Winnie the Pooh (that is, almost the entire first pic) are the cats that got 2+ submissions, in their order of popularity.

Next step - brackets!!! I want to do this well and I hope I don't underestimate certain fandoms!!!

-- bleach suburban ot4 -- "... Good friend? What's she competing in?" Orihime can't hold back a relieved laugh, and grins at Grimmjow-san as he watches her sideways like he's not sure it's safe. Considering how big and muscly he is, it's just... really funny. "Karate! Tatsuki-chan has been my best friend since middle school! And she used to beat up Ichigo upside down and sideways when they were little kids at baby karate school." "We weren't babies," Ichigo mutters. "We were like seven. And she still beats me up now." Grimmjow-san is starting to grin back, all toothy and amused. "Yeah?" "Don't start. She'd fold you in two," Ichigo retorts with disgruntled disgust. "She's a beast in human skin." Orihime giggles, delighted by the banter. They've been so careful around each other. It's really nice that Ichigo is relaxing. "Oh, she told me to tell you that she needs you next weekend and it's your fault that you stopped training--" "Nooo no no no nope I am not acting as a training dummy for Miss Terror of the Olympians. I've done my time. What would she learn anyway, none of the girls in her weight class would be shaped anything like me!" "She says she's going to lose all her killer instinct if she only fights girls her size." She tries to look saddened, and somewhat fails. Grimmjow-san snorts. Ichigo's eyes narrow half-seriously. "You know what, if you guys are still around next week, I'm bringing you and I'm throwing you to the wolves. We'll see if you're laughing then." There's a weird pause, long, and Orihime feels unsteady, like he said something wrong, hit on some hidden landmine -- but then Grimmjow-san's smile lengthens. He reminds her of the Cheshire cat, but if he was a tiger instead. "Sure thing. Karate, huh?" "She does mixed martial arts for fun too. Bet once she wins gold for karate that she'll switch over. Prepare to eat your teeth, buddy." "Eat your teeth?" Kazui inquires with a baffled look, tugging on Orihime's shirt. "Oh, it's just a joke, it's not for real. Did you have fun today, Kazui-chan?" Haa, she's still so excited. Pow! Thwip! Bam! Tatsuki-chan was just so cool. "You do karate?" Grimmjow-san asks, startling her. She thought he was going to go on sniping with Ichigo for a little while, they seemed to find it funny. ... Oops, her hands are still up. "Um. Sometimes. Tatsuki-chan dragged me into it. I don't compete, though." Ichigo turns a page casually, his reading glasses almost at the end of his nose. "She's a third dan black belt." Orihime flails. "I still don't compete!" -- new baby abo madatobi fic -- She brings him back a funny-shaped stick and he tugs at the white forelock that is all that sets her apart from a fully Uchiha child, and smiles, and knocks a flight of senbon from the air with his bare hand. "Ambush!" He sweeps Tsurugi up with his injured arm -- only pinpricks; probably poisoned -- sweeps his gunbai over his head, slashes. His guards are already either in the air or flattened onto the path; the shredding gust of wind turns forest to messy piles of firewood. Kuchino and Suwanose land at his back in a defensive triangle formation, hands flying through signs; Hikaku and Norikura have disappeared into smoke. Madara shapes a half-tiger seal and blows out a long gust of fire. Tsurugi is squeaking. She still thinks he just wanted a hug. -- Days on a Wire -- Madara gave a rude huff, crossing his arms, and tried to loosen his jaw. "The two of you talk as if a frontline fighter on par with the strongest shinobi in the whole country is going to be grateful to perform as a kunoichi." "Is there something shameful to being a kunoichi?" Yorimoto asked in that dangerously benevolent tone. Madara briefly tried to remember if he'd been one, back in the ice age, and then remembered he didn't give a shit. Infiltration, seduction, manipulation, acting a role for years on end only to strike at night, no mercy. Those required very specific skills. But still. "Did I say that?" he replied with irritation. "Kunoichi are necessary, if only for intelligence purposes. But don't even pretend it wouldn't be a demotion." "You talk as if he'd have a choice," Raiha said, an edge of mockery in her voice. "You don't refuse your liege lord to his face, now do you?" For a very odd, very short instant, Madara knew exactly how Izuna would react if he were here with them. A slow blink, a thoughtful tilt of his head, and then, 'Well then, I had better figure out how to assassinate a daimyo without getting caught.' It was -- yes. Brain-Izuna wasn't overreacting completely. No matter that as a beta Mimaki-sama would pose no risk of begetting a litter of bastards onto a common-blooded killer for hire. Once an omega was in a beta's bed it was a slippery slope to them inviting in the rest of their litter. And Madara had given his stupid word on the topic of Uchiha clan leadership, so he was now obligated to throw a wrench in it. And if it made him feel better to know it would make his brother feel better, that was his own damn business and not anyone else's. -- naruto: weirdass gem/dbz style fusion AU -- if it's a conversation then it's one through gritted teeth on opposite sides of a table. It's the last attempt to find common ground before it all breaks down, restraint keeping it this side of an actual fight instead of a spar but only just, it's wasting all the effort he made to believe in his brother, to hope, and he's -- he's surprised. At himself. It's not a relief that it's probably going to be war again. It's not what he wanted but if it's what's offered to him, if they have to fight their way out of it then he will lead the charge, but he's so disappointed. Was there anything he should have done differently? He can't concede more without bending over, or can he? Is it -- Is it his fault? If it is. Then he'll take responsibility for it. For the failure and the ruin of hope and the lives of his people that he can still salvage. If he -- If there's a hard decision to make, he will make it. He won't let his (elder/too-trusting/younger/I-told-you-so) brother shoulder the weight of his failure. He won't... He's standing in the middle of the field, thirty paces away from the gathered watchers, his clanspeople staring tense with hands on weapons they aren't supposed to have. None have drawn yet, though some are too close. Threat levels and angles of attack flash through his mind as he takes them in. The threats to his people are... All of them. All of them are threats, both sides, because they fused. His brothers worst of all, people he loves, but that he still must/shouldn't ever kill.
