ASPEN MEADOWS SHOW COMPLEX
OUTDOOR MODULAR ARENA
Welcome to Aspen Meadows, a three-lot show complex built to meet all your equestrian needs! This is the first of three arena lots I plan to share. Aspen Meadows has been a big project of mine since November and I'm very excited to share it with you now. The Aspen Meadows Outdoor Arena is a 50x40 lot built specifically to be placed on the Bailey Moon Manor lot in Del Sol Valley. It is a sand arena with covered spectator seating, a judge's tent, and a lighting setup to make both day and nighttime competitions possible.
Modular arena, you say? What's a modular arena?
This is a system I've been using to build most of my arenas lately - I place down a room, adjust it to the size I want my arena to be, delete the ceiling, and replace the walls with fences. Since each arena layout is an individual 'room', all I have to do to switch between them is click the room, delete it, and then swap the layout I want into the empty spot. This has allowed me to make multiple configurations of an arena on the same lot, without having to save each lot over and over again. As such, this download comes with tray files for the lot itself (with the Dressage arena pre-loaded), the Dressage Arena, and an empty arena for you to DIY to your heart's content!
This lot is built with items from Island Living, Get to Work, Romantic Garden, and High School Years.
All CC is included in the file, but can also be found here:

Quest for the SNAILMP
So i haven't been posting much lately. An optimistic person might hope i was writing (regretfully not, my head is 100% empty still. i'm trying to pspsps the stories back by reading a lot but it hasn't worked yet). A more realistic guess is i'd been distracted by dnd or my leverage rewatch or debating whether to buy an actual braille book now that i can pretty reliably read my homemade braille flashcards. All of those are true, but i've also been working on the Quest of the SNAILMP
FLASHBACK. it's 2019. a friend posts a picture of the snail lamp in the group chat to apologize for talking about needles (squick i hate that)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I crave to temptation and find it on the Urban Outfitters website. I then waffle over this snail lamp for several months. It's kinda pricey for a battery powered lamp. They stop selling it. I mourn for the snail lamp.
For the next three years i mourn the snail lamp i could have had & bring it up in conversation unreasonably often. Every few months I search the internet for snail lamps, specifically craving a snail orb lamp. nothing comes close to the original SNAILMP.
Winter, 2022 I go looking to snailmps and find instead a ceramic snail planter. He's even cuter than the original snailmp! I think to myself, "oh, if I bought that and put one of those outdoor orb lights where the bowl goes it'd be pefect! diy snailmp!"
Tumblr media
I waffle for several weeks. I order the snail (minus lamp).
Two days later they refund my order. someone had bought the last snail. They'd searched the warehouse and there were no snails left.
I mourned my snail lamp again.
But now I was already thinking about DIY snail lamps & I'd subsequently joined a bookbinding server that enables all craft project, no matter how silly. The obvious quest was proposed: make a snail lamp from scratch.

Coco Coir Pots
Title: Harnessing the Green Magic of Coco Coir Pots for Sustainable Gardening
Introduction: Coco coir pots, the eco-friendly alternative to traditional plant containers, are taking the gardening world by storm. These biodegradable pots, derived from coconut husk fiber, offer numerous benefits for both garden enthusiasts and the environment. In this blog post, we'll delve into the world of coco coir pots exploring their many advantages and how they contribute to sustainable gardening practices.
Understanding Coco Coir Pots: Coco coir pots, also known as coir pots or coir planters, are made from coconut coir, a natural fiber extracted from coconut husks. Unlike plastic or clay pots, coco coir pots are biodegradable and have a unique ability to enhance plant growth.
Tumblr media
Advantages of Coco Coir Pots: Let's explore some of the key benefits of using coco coir pots in your gardening endeavors:
Biodegradability: One of the most significant advantages of coco coir pots is their biodegradability. These pots break down naturally over time, eliminating the need for disposal and reducing environmental waste.
Reduced Transplant Shock: When it's time to transplant your seedlings or young plants, you can plant the entire coco coir pot directly into the soil. This reduces transplant stress and minimizes root disturbance, ensuring a smoother transition for your plants.
Improved Aeration: The porous nature of coir promotes aeration and air pruning of roots. This leads to healthier root development, as roots are encouraged to grow within the pot and not become root-bound.
Enhanced Moisture Retention: Coco coir is excellent at retaining moisture, which means you won't need to water your plants as frequently. It provides a consistent and steady supply of moisture to the roots.
pH Neutral: Coco coir has a neutral pH level, making it suitable for a wide range of plants. You can easily adjust the pH to match specific plant needs.
Eco-Friendly Alternative: Choosing coco coir pots supports eco-friendly gardening. By opting for biodegradable containers, you reduce plastic waste and minimize the environmental impact of traditional plastic pots.
Versatility: Coco coir pots come in various sizes, making them suitable for different types of plants, from small seedlings to larger ornamental trees. They can be used in both indoor and outdoor gardening.
youtube
Additional Uses of Coco Coir Pots: Coco coir pots aren't limited to just planting. Here are some other applications:
Mulching: Coir pots can be used as mulch. When placed on the soil's surface, they help retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and reduce weed growth.
Composting: When your coco coir pots are no longer needed, you can add them to your compost pile. They'll break down and enrich the compost with organic matter.
Craft Projects: The natural texture and appearance of coco coir make it a great material for various craft and art projects. Get creative and use coir in your DIY endeavors.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: Coco coir pots are a game-changer for sustainable gardening. Their biodegradability, reduced transplant shock, and ability to improve plant growth make them a valuable asset for gardeners. By choosing these eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plant containers, you not only promote healthier plant growth but also contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. Whether you're an avid gardener or just starting out, consider making the switch to coco coir pots and witness the green magic they bring to your garden.

youtube
Transforming the Front Yard: Landscaping with Style
Your front yard is the first impression visitors have of your home, so why not make it a stunning one? Even with limited space, there are several ways to create an eye-catching landscape. Consider using colorful flowers and plants that thrive in your climate.
Opt for low-maintenance perennials that bloom year after year, or choose evergreen shrubs for year-round greenery. By carefully selecting the right plants and arranging them strategically, you can create a visually appealing front yard that requires minimal upkeep.
If you're feeling adventurous, try incorporating a small vegetable garden into your front yard landscape. Planting vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, and herbs can add both beauty and functionality to your outdoor space. Not only will you have fresh produce at your fingertips, but you'll also create a unique and inviting front yard that stands out from the rest.
Enhancing the Backyard: Creating a Vegetable Haven
When it comes to small backyard gardens, maximizing space is key. Building raised garden beds is an excellent way to make the most of your limited area. These beds not only provide better drainage and soil quality but also make it easier to tend to your plants.
You can grow a variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs in these raised beds, ensuring a bountiful harvest.
If you're short on ground space, consider vertical gardening. This innovative technique allows you to grow plants vertically, utilizing walls, fences, or trellises. Vertical gardens not only save space but also create a stunning visual display.
You can grow anything from climbing vines and trailing flowers to herbs and even small vegetables.
For those looking to add a touch of tranquility to their backyard, consider building a small fish pond. The sound of flowing water and the presence of colorful fish can create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, a bubble fountain can provide a soothing water feature that adds elegance to your outdoor space.
Stylish Patio Decor: Potted Plants and DIY Projects
If you have a small patio or balcony, potted plants are a fantastic way to bring nature into your living space. Choose plants that thrive in containers, such as succulents, herbs, and dwarf varieties of flowers. Arrange the pots creatively, using different sizes and heights to create visual interest.
If you're feeling crafty, there are numerous DIY projects that can elevate your patio decor. Transform vinyl gutters into unique planters, creating a modern and stylish look. Hang fresh herbs from a wooden palette, providing easy access to flavorful ingredients while adding a touch of greenery to your space.
Get organized with hand-crafted plant markers, ensuring you can easily identify and care for your plants.
For a more elaborate project, consider building an arched trellis covered in trailing plants. This not only adds height and dimension to your patio but also creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere. With a little creativity and some basic DIY skills, you can transform your small patio into a tranquil oasis.
Nurturing a small garden is a rewarding experience that brings beauty and tranquility to your outdoor space. Whether you have a front yard, backyard, or a small patio, there are countless ways to create a charming and thriving garden. From landscaping with style and incorporating raised garden beds to utilizing vertical gardening and decorating with potted plants, the possibilities are endless.

10 Charming Small Garden Ideas to Spruce Up Your Outdoor Space
Tumblr media
youtube
Transform Your Small Space into a Lush Oasis
Nurturing a garden can bring immense joy and satisfaction. The presence of lush greenery and vibrant flowers can instantly transform your outdoor space, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Whether you have a small balcony, a tiny backyard, or a compact patio, there are numerous charming small garden ideas that can help you create a beautiful oasis.
In this article, we will explore a range of budget-friendly hacks and creative solutions to help you spruce up your outdoor space, regardless of your gardening experience.
Building Raised Garden Beds
One of the most effective ways to maximize space and add visual interest to your small garden is by building raised garden beds. These elevated planters not only create a defined space for your plants but also make gardening more accessible, especially for those with limited mobility. You can build raised beds using various materials such as wood, stone, or even recycled materials like old tires or wine barrels.
Consider the height, width, and depth of the beds based on the plants you wish to grow and the available space.
Once you have constructed your raised garden beds, fill them with nutrient-rich soil and choose a variety of plants that thrive in your climate. You can grow colorful flowers, aromatic herbs, or even vegetables and fruits. The key is to plan your garden layout carefully, considering the sunlight and water requirements of each plant.
Creating Unique Vertical Gardens
If you have limited horizontal space, vertical gardens can be a game-changer. These innovative plant displays not only add a unique aesthetic to your garden but also maximize the use of vertical surfaces. There are numerous ways to create vertical gardens, depending on your style and available resources.
One popular method is using wall-mounted planters or hanging baskets. These can be easily installed on fences, walls, or even balcony railings. Another option is utilizing repurposed materials such as pallets or old ladders to create a vertical garden.
Simply attach pots or planters to the structure and fill them with your favorite plants.
For a more unconventional approach, consider using a living wall system. These modular panels are designed to support a variety of plants and can be easily customized to fit your space. Vertical gardens not only save space but also create a stunning focal point in your garden.
Decorating with Potted Plants
Potted plants are a versatile and easy way to add greenery and color to your small garden. They can be placed on balconies, patios, or even window sills. When choosing pots, consider the size, material, and style that best complements your outdoor space.
Grouping potted plants of varying heights and textures creates visual interest and adds depth to your garden. You can also experiment with different plant combinations, mixing flowers, foliage, and even small shrubs. Hanging planters are another popular option, especially for those with limited floor space.
They can be suspended from ceilings, pergolas, or even tree branches, adding a whimsical touch to your garden.
Embracing DIY Projects
If you enjoy getting your hands dirty and want to showcase your creativity, there are numerous DIY projects that can enhance your small garden. For example, you can repurpose vinyl gutters into planters and attach them to your porch railing. This modern and budget-friendly hack allows you to grow herbs or trailing flowers in a unique way.
Another DIY project is creating a small fish pond. With a little planning and some basic materials, you can transform a corner of your garden into a tranquil oasis. Add aquatic plants and colorful fish to bring life and movement to your outdoor space.
If you prefer a more minimalist look, consider building an arched trellis covered in trailing plants. This elegant structure not only provides support for climbing plants but also adds a touch of charm to your garden.
Planning Your Garden
Before diving into any garden project, it's essential to plan your space and consider the specific needs of the plants you wish to grow. Assess the amount of sunlight your garden receives throughout the day and choose plants accordingly. Some plants thrive in full sun, while others prefer partial shade.
Additionally, consider the soil type and drainage in your garden. Some plants require well-draining soil, while others thrive in moisture-retentive soil. If your soil quality is poor, you can improve it by adding organic matter such as compost or well-rotted manure.
Watering is another crucial aspect to consider. Some plants require frequent watering, while others are more drought-tolerant. Grouping plants with similar water needs can simplify your watering routine and ensure the health of your garden.

Renovate Your Yard: Large Backyard Ideas on a Budget
Tumblr media
Are you dreaming of transforming your backyard into a stunning oasis without breaking the bank? With the right approach, you can revamp your outdoor space on a budget. Let's explore some creative and practical ideas to renovate your yard affordably.
Introduction
Renovating your backyard is more than just enhancing its appearance; it's about creating a functional and inviting outdoor living space. Even with a limited budget, you can achieve remarkable results by carefully planning your projects and making smart choices.
Assessing Your Yard
Before diving into renovations, take time to assess your yard. Understand its layout, natural features, and any existing issues such as drainage problems or overgrown areas. This assessment will guide your renovation plans and help prioritize where to allocate your budget.
Planning Your Budget
Set a realistic budget based on your financial situation and renovation goals. Allocate funds for essentials like landscaping, materials, and potential labor costs. By planning your budget upfront, you can avoid overspending and ensure that your projects stay on track.
DIY vs. Professional Help
Consider which projects you can tackle yourself and when it's best to hire professionals. Simple tasks like planting and minor carpentry work can be DIY projects, while complex installations or structural changes might require professional expertise.
Creative Landscaping Ideas
Opt for low-maintenance plants and shrubs that thrive in your climate. Choose native species that require less water and upkeep. Incorporate edible gardens by planting herbs, vegetables, or fruit trees, which not only add visual appeal but also provide fresh produce.
Upcycling and Repurposing
Get creative with materials by using recycled items for decoration and furniture. Repurpose old pallets into garden furniture, use reclaimed wood for raised planters, or turn unused household items into unique garden art pieces.
Creating Functional Zones
Divide your backyard into functional zones such as dining, lounging, and recreation areas. Define these spaces using pathways, low hedges, or decorative screens. This division adds structure and makes your yard more versatile for different activities.
Lighting and Ambiance
Enhance your backyard's atmosphere with affordable lighting options. String lights, solar lanterns, or DIY luminaries can create a cozy ambiance for evening gatherings without costly electrical installations.
Water Features on a Budget
Add a touch of tranquility with DIY water features like small fountains or cascading waterfalls. Recycle old containers or create natural pond-like structures to introduce soothing water elements into your backyard.
Maintenance and Long-Term Sustainability
Implement low-maintenance landscaping practices to reduce upkeep costs and time. Choose drought-tolerant plants, install a simple irrigation system, and mulch garden beds to retain moisture. Plan for future upgrades in phases to manage expenses and ensure long-term sustainability.
Conclusion:
Renovating your large backyard on a budget is achievable with strategic planning and creative thinking. By incorporating these ideas and prioritizing cost-effective solutions, you can transform your outdoor space into a beautiful retreat without breaking the bank. Happy renovating!

Here are some budget-friendly ideas to help you create your dream backyard oasis:
Define Your Space: Start by defining the purpose of your backyard oasis. Do you envision a cozy reading nook, a vibrant garden retreat, or a space for outdoor gatherings? Once you have a clear vision in mind, delineate different areas within your backyard accordingly. Use elements such as outdoor rugs, potted plants, or decorative screens to create distinct zones for lounging, dining, and relaxation.

Upcycled Décor: Turn trash into treasure by upcycling everyday items into stylish décor pieces for your backyard oasis. Look for discarded materials such as wine barrels, tin cans, and wooden crates that can be repurposed into planters, lanterns, or outdoor furniture. Get crafty with paint, stencils, and embellishments to transform these items into eye-catching accents that elevate the aesthetic appeal of your oasis without breaking the bank.
Thrifty Furniture Finds: Furnishing your backyard oasis doesn’t have to be costly. Shop smart by scouring thrift stores, garage sales, and online marketplaces for budget-friendly furniture finds. Look for sturdy pieces that can withstand outdoor conditions such as wrought iron chairs, wooden benches, or rattan loveseats. With a fresh coat of paint or some decorative cushions, these thrifty finds can add comfort and style to your oasis without draining your wallet.
Low-Cost Landscaping: Enhance the natural beauty of your backyard oasis with low-cost landscaping solutions. Invest in drought-resistant plants and native species that require minimal maintenance and water. Create visual interest with strategic plant placements, varying heights, and textures. Incorporate affordable landscaping elements such as gravel pathways, mulch borders, or decorative rocks to add structure and definition to your outdoor space without breaking the bank.
DIY Water Features: Transform your backyard oasis into a tranquil retreat with the soothing sound of water. Instead of splurging on expensive fountains or ponds, consider DIY water features that are budget-friendly and easy to install. Build a simple bubbling rock fountain using a waterproof basin, a submersible pump, and decorative stones. Alternatively, repurpose an old wine barrel or a salvaged trough into a charming water garden or mini pond.

In conclusion, creating a backyard oasis on a budget is entirely achievable with a little ingenuity and resourcefulness. By incorporating DIY projects, upcycled décor, thrifty finds, and low-cost landscaping solutions, you can transform your outdoor space into a picturesque retreat that reflects your personal style and provides a peaceful sanctuary for relaxation and enjoyment. Let your imagination run wild as you embark on the journey of turning your backyard into your dream oasis without exceeding your budget. 2. Garden Edging: Red gum sleepers can be used to define borders, pathways, and garden beds, adding a touch of rustic elegance to any landscape design.
3. Steps and Stairs: Red gum sleepers can be cut and shaped to create durable steps and stairs, offering a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution for navigating sloped terrain.

Choosing the Right Red Gum Sleepers
When selecting red gum sleepers for your landscaping project, there are several factors to consider:
1. Size and Dimensions: Red gum sleepers are available in various sizes and dimensions to suit different applications. Consider the height, length, and width of the sleepers needed for your project, as well as any specific design requirements.
2. Grade and Quality: Red gum sleepers are graded based on their appearance, structural integrity, and suitability for different purposes. Choose high-quality sleepers with minimal defects and consistent grain patterns for the best results.
3. Treatment and Preservation: While red gum is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, it’s important to consider whether you prefer treated or untreated sleepers for your project. Treated sleepers may offer added protection against moisture, rot, and pests, but they may also have a shorter lifespan.
