I realise we’re pretty deep into Ghost Game now, but if someone asked me to recommend an episode to randomly watch that gave an impression of the whole series, episode 61 would be high up the list.

(And if this image doesn’t sum up Team Lilirun I don’t know what does.)

Ghost Game has become such a comfort show for me this past year.  I won’t go into my personal life, but while it’s been a mostly positive time, it’s also been really stressful and busy.  While I’ve seen plenty of complaints about the episodic format, the past few weeks have really solidified why I’ve enjoyed it so much.

During a time when whole series are dropped at once or shows keep viewers coming back weekly with cliffhanger after cliffhanger (or worse, season finale cliffhangers), I’ve actually liked that Ghost Game isn’t doing the same. It’s not to say I don’t enjoy a great well-executed story arc, but I’ve found having to avoid spoilers in media gets pretty exhausting after a while, especially for a show I’m just discovering.

Ghost Game is a show you can just dip into when there’s an episode summary that takes your interest, or if you’d like to appreciate the subtle character growth of the main cast then you can spend the time watching the whole series.

reading spoilers for the new 02 movie and so far my thoughts are just “huh what”

#genuinely excited to see the movie not because I think I’ll like it but because. i want context on some of the vague things I’ve heard cause #huh??? what??? what do you mean it’s a horror movie??? what?? #also because I’m excited to figure out if it would be worth me including in my digimon adventure au rewrite that. i think about a lot but #idk if I’ll ever actually write it. #but yeah curious to learn if it’ll fall into the category of ‘I can fix this’ unlike kizuna. which I personally don’t think I’d include in #my rewrite cause I disagree with the themes of that movie on a fundamental level but that’s for another time lol. #(and even then I have considered including kizuna as a non-canon to the rest of the au thing purely cause it could be fun to figure out how #i would handle kizuna - even if I decide to change the themes of it to something I prefer) #also yes tri is included within the actual canon but HEAVILY rewritten cause I think it is salvageable. honestly just one small change makes #a lot of the stuff within that series make 10x more sense and I legitimately thought that’s where they were going with it at first. #dramon thoughts #digimon spoilers #digimon 02 spoilers #digimon the beginning spoilers #< tagging cause I like. vaguely allude to the spoilers I’ve heard about.

Some Digi-Fan At Me: ArE YOU WATCHING DIGIMON CON???!

M E: While I am watching "Digimon Con", I am keeping my expectations LOW. I am personally happy just to be watching anything relevant to Digimon or Adventure/02 as a series. While I do have hopes for "reveals", I know by now, especially after last year, to keep those hopes IN CHECK and not immediately expect the biggest, best possibility and combinations of "concepts" that we could ever hope to "receive". We may not even "receive" a whole 'new' series, spin-off or movie! We already have a movie ("Zero Two" related/sequel Movie "The Beginning"!) recently!! Nothing is guaranteed!! Even in regards to the games potential, absolutely nothing* can be assumed there (*We'll ignore that the heads of the games have already mentioned, at the very least, possible ports??? and the like of previous older games if there was enough interest, which I am definitely not hyped about re: the potential for those games I never got to play.) I am perfectly fine with this and am not changing my opinion any time soon, so PLEASE do not ask me anything like this unless you want my HONEST opinion about what I'm interested in--!!

i hope ghost game starts diving deeper into the real plot the way they just keep hinting at gammamons EVIL side is like. getting slow. like 30 episodes in they still just kinda keep going wow gammamon might have some weird stuff happening! and i love love love digimon overarching plots but the episode by episode monster of the week stuff is so fun. cant really complain when i LIKE the episode by episode stuff

how old are the characters in the digimon au

Okay so during everyone's first encounter with digimon as children, when the Evo kids have their first adventure and the others witness digimon in the real world (there's some crossfading happening between the worlds because of the villains i have planned and a virus tearing things apart), the ages are as follows:

Bdubs, Etho, Scar, Impulse, Ren, and Cleo are 15

BigB, Martyn, Skizz, and Tango are 11

Grian, Lizzie, and Joel are 8

Mumbo, Pearl, Scott, Jimmy, and Gem are 5

Nearly 2 decades later the cast find digivices and notes at their homes explaining they've been chosen to test a new game! Some are wary, some are ambivalent, not all activate the digivice at the same time but those that do find themselves transported to the digital world. At this point, the start of act 1, they are the following ages:

Bdubs, Etho, Scar, Impulse, Ren, and Cleo are 34

BigB, Martyn, Skizz, and Tango are 30

Grian, Lizzie, and Joel are 27

Mumbo, Pearl, Scott, Jimmy, and Gem are 24

They probably age throughout the 5 acts but I can't be certain how much just yet. Hope this helps!

Tokyo Mew Mew illustrations from the May 2002 issue of Tanoshii Youchien (Fun Kindergarten) Magazine. One of the interesting things about this little preview was that whoever drew and colored it gave Ichigo pink hair and eyes in civilian form, similar to how she was colored in the original manga series.

This magazine basically shows short, illustrated previews of new kids anime/shows, along with word games, puzzles and furoku for currently airing shows. This particular issue also had previews for Digimon Frontier, Ojamajo Doremi Dokkān, Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger (Power Rangers Ninja Storm) and others.

Day 6: Journey/ Favorite Episode

Episode 21 "Home Away from Home" ("Koromon, the Great Clash in Tokyo!")

Tai's relationship with Kari.

Going into the series, I didn't know that Tai had a younger sister until he mentioned her. I didn't think she would be ever mentioned or seen in the series, but then he returns to Tokyo in episode 21. I felt like that episode was such a turning point for Tai's character. He could have abandoned all his friends and stayed at home with his little sister that he had great affection for, but decided not to. He realized that it was more important to return to the Digital World to defeat the rampant Digimon, which would in turn protect his younger sibling.

The moment of separation was so gut wrenching to watch in this episode and it left such an impression, so thus I tried to recapture that moment in my piece.

I have an older brother myself. When I was a child, I really wished Tai was my older brother. I wanted someone that could protect me and I could have fun with. I had that but there was also something off with our relationship, or at least how I perceived it. Something tarnished the relationship and I won’t go into detail about it here except say that there is another Chosen that I more deeply relate to which I’ll honorably mention in a DA Week bonus post.

While I don't have a fanart piece, Episode 48 "My Sister's Keeper" ("Bombing Mission! Mugendramon"), also gets honorable mention because we get a glimpse more of Tai's and Kari's relationship growing up. We see how reliant Kari is on Tai and wanting to not be a burden on him and Tai’s regrets for not being a better older brother and not being observant that his sister was sick. This plot shows how far Tai’s come and why Matt had every right to feel jealous of Tai being the ‘better older brother’.
