[Maricheni Matsuri Participation Post] What I like about Kuroba Mario & Goods I own of his!

Yesterday, my friend @blackfireswallow made a post about wanting to have fun and celebrate/support Kuroba Mario as today would have been his debut for the Toho Musical “Elisabeth”, but the remaining performances were cancelled.

So, for my participation in the Maricheni Matsuri, I decided to say some nice words about Mario, and even show some of the goods I own of his! :D

What I like about Kuroba Mario:

Although I am not a fan of Mario myself, I have seen some of his work over the years, particularly with Tenimyu Season 2 as Kikumaru Eiji, and as Mikazuki Munechika in Toumyu. What I like about Mario is how he is able to take on any role he is given. He has gone from a character who is well-known in acrobatic play in 2012, to being someone who was about to perform in their second Toho stage in 2020 within an 8 year period. Between all of that, is an outstanding career acting as Mikazuki Munechika in Toumyu, Kise Ryouta in Kurosute, Nishio Kazu (Okazu) in the Okazu-kun drama/movie, Tairaku Jun in FIVE, Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet, Akutsu Takaaki in Coffee and Vanilla, Nishina Homare in Dansui! drama/stage, as well as a lot more other roles! Although his original dream came to a halt, for him to take on being an actor, and to have worked this hard and has achieved so much throughout his career so far, that is something I truly like about him.

Aside from his work on stage/dramas/movies, I also like the friendship he has with Sakiyama Tsubasa (MariTsuba)! They have known each other since the Shitenhouji rehearsals in 2013, and since then, after being able to work together in Toumyu, they have become a lot more closer and considered as good friends. They even went to Hawaii and South Korea together xD They spend a bit of time together when they have the chance to relax, and everything they do together can’t help but make you laugh, but aside from all of that, the one thing that makes me like the friendship Mario has with Tsubasa, is that Mario considers Tsubasa as his partner. Even if it’s something that’s said for the fan service, they both get along well with one another, I can’t help but enjoy seeing those two and their antics xD

End of the year 2.5D Butai/Musical Asks!

I'm doing a parenthesis in this hell of a week to do this. And it was actually fun to do! I remembered a lot of things while doing it. It took me a while tho xD

I was tagged by @uchidaikidesu. Thank you very much ^^

Questions and answers under the cut.

1. Firstly, how did you manage to find out about 2.5D butai/musical? Which butai/musical was your first and your impression of it?

This was around 2006, I believe. By the way, at that time almost everyone in the fandom used mostly Livejournal to interact, Tumblr didn't even exist lol, and the concept of "2.5D" wasn't known. I remember a girl who subtitled short clips and songs of Tenimyu on Livejournal, showed me a short video of Dream Live 3rd. Since I was so into the Tenipuri fandom, watching the musicals with real actors was kind of weird. I mean, they looked so funny with those wigs lol, but then I got used to them. So yeah, the first musical I watched was Dream Live 3rd. I also remember asking the girl if watching that was going to spoil the plot, but then I was told what was a Dream Live and the regular musicals featuring a different team and their respective plot.

2. Who was your first favourite 2.5D actor/actress? Why?

It was a little hard to remember this, but I think it was Aiba Hiroki. It is fun because I started to watch Tenipuri thanks to Kaida Yuki (Fuji Shuusuke's seiyuu) and when I first started to watch the musicals, the second gen of Seigaku was in all their glory. Because my favorite character at that time was Fuji, I liked Aibacchi first.

3. Top 3 (or more) favourite butai of the year?

I don't think I have watched so many butai/musicals this year because I've been so busy, but let's give a try :D

1-. Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau I don't know why I liked this butai the first time I watched it, but I guess the plot wasn't something I have watched before and it was great. I even follow the anime so far lol. I think I have reblogged some GIFs as well xD

2-. Touken Ranbu Moeyuru Honnouji (Saien) Honestly, I'm not so into Tousute, but I watched this whole musical and I liked it. Ok, when I saw the name of Seto Yuusuke (I love Teruma, but Seto is an actor I like from long ago) in the cast, I couldn't resist. Of course, I had already watched the first butai. I still haven't watched the last one, so I can't put it in this ranking.

3-. Dansui! Maybe I liked more for the actors than for the plot xD Still, it is always fun to watch it.

4. Top 3 (or more) least favourite butai of the year?

I don't really want to think about something I haven't liked this year. I think everything I have watched has been good.

5. Top 3 (or more) favourite musical of the year?

1-. Touken Ranbu ~Mihotose no Komoriuta~ I actually cried with this xD And since I knew almost all actors and a little about the Tokugawa History, I felt familiar with it really quick. Very touching scenes. And as if falling more for Tsubasa wasn't enough xD

2-. Rock Musical Bleach 2016 I think I watched it this year. I've always have liked Bleach and since I have watched all Bleach musicals, I just couldn't not watch this.

3-.Hakuoki - Harada Sanosuke Hen I actually love all about Hakuouki lol, but I was very curious about this musical and I liked it. Isobe Karin was super cute and her singing voice did suprise me. Higashi Keisuke was great as usual. The heigh difference tho xD

6. Top 3 (or more) least favourite musical of the year?

7. Top 3 (or more) favourite actors/actress of the year?

You already know my actual biases xD

1-. Kuroba Mario/Sakiyama Tsubasa Surprised? I don't think so xD I think I don't have much to add why I liked them? lol

3-. Anzai Shintaro Yeah, I love his bitchy characters like Reo (Dansui!) and Fushimi. I also enjoy to see him in every making of he is in. I always laugh at his humor lol.

8. Top 3 (or more) rookie actors/rising actors whom you’ve high hopes for in the future?

1-. Miura Hiroki I always have a thing for every actor who have played Atobe xD He is so young, so I think he still has a lot to show~

2-. Sana Hiroki He already have played amazing roles so far and I think he has a great future ahead.

3-. Maeshima Ami I first know her in Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau and I really like her acting. When I saw her again in Rengoku ni Warau was simply splendid. She is still young as well, so I hope to see her in more roles.

9. Top 3 (or more) favourite butai/musical related drama/movie of the year?

Option 1: The drama/movie is similar and have the same/different actors from the stage adaptation. (Example: Yowamushi Pedal)

Option 2: The drama/movie currently does not have a stage adaptation for the time being but has at least one 2.5D actor/actress in it. If you chose this option, please state the name of the actor that made you watch the drama/movie (Example: Five, Sato Ryuji)

For option 1 - Dansui! Stage and Drama. For option 2 - Ayame-kun no Nonbiri Nikushoku Nisshi (Kuroba Mario, Saeki Daichi) - FIVE (Kuroba Mario, Sato Ryuji)

10. Top 3 (or more) actors/actress that you think have the best singing voice?

1-. Kuroba Mario Yeah, I'm biased but he really has improved his singing voice a lot. When I first heard him as Kikumaru singing Hitori de Doubles was totally different. Well, Kikumaru is a character that moves a lot, but still, he has been doing a great job with his voice.

2-. Furukawa Yuuta Well, I have liked his voice since he was Fuji and since he released his first single, so it is not a surprise.

3-. Sato Ryuji/Spi

A tie xD Ryuji singing voice is something you don't really find everywhere. And I really loved Spi voice in Mihotose.

11. A (or more) butai/musical that you didn’t initially love, but has/have grown on you?

Noragami. Mostly because I didn't know a thing about anything xD

12. Top 3 (or more) anime/manga/game that you would love to see being adapted into a butai/musical in the future?

Honestly I don't really remember right now. But normally I started to watch an anime or read a manga if I don't know much about a musical/butai.

13. Top 3 (or more) favourite fandom on the year?

Mostly Touken Ranbu. Toumyu and Tousute. I never forget about Tenimyu though.

14. How long have you been in the 2.5D fandom?

That is... 11 years *feels old*

15. Lastly, what is your overall opinion of the 2.5D fandom so far?

In general and after all these years, I think it is really nice. Nodaways it is easier to purchase a DVD and share it with everybody. I remember when the fandom was still in Livejournal, the people who shared their copies were always the same and fans (in my case at least) depended on them lol. Overall, I think this fandom has been steady. I personally have known very nice people, so I hope to continue being here as long as I can ^^

1. Firstly, how did you manage to find out about 2.5D butai/musical? Which butai/musical was your first and your impression of it?

I was searching for musicals (music) on youtube in 2003 & found a promo clip of tenimyu. I was so fascinated about the concept ‘swinging a racket to hit a light-ball on stage’ that I fell in love with tenimyu and later with the language, country, culture and my new family^^

永山たかし Nagayan/Nagayama Takashi (because I loved Kikumaru Eiji) until I got into D-Boys and got to know about

中村優一 Channaka/Nakamura Yuuichi (I loved his badass Kyousuke in Hibiki^^)

For those who looking for where to watch Dansui ! I am sure it is uploaded on streaming site somewhere. but if you are also interested in the spacial side story of Dansui! I highly recommend Hulu Japan website. The pool side story which isn’t aired at NTV but Hulu is really funny and interesting and there is going to be 8 spacial episodes for watching here.

Of course you will need an account, pay monthly and VPN for watching at HULU ! but it’s worth your money :)

End of the year 2.5D Butai/Musical Asks

I got to tagged in this game by @uchidaikidesu, thank you very much for it! ^^ Below you can read my answers to the questions.

1. Firstly, how did you manage to find out about 2.5D butai/musical? Which butai/musical was your first and your impression of it?

The very first butai I saw was the first Naruto stage. I got to know about it on Facebook where a local anime magazine announced there will be a stage play for the anime. At that time I was a big Naruto fan, so of course I watched it. I loved it a lot, the conception and the technical solutions amazed me a lot and I also loved how the actors played their roles.

2. Who was your first favourite 2.5D actor/actress? Why?

My first favourite actor was Sato Ryuji. I saw him in Naruto as Sasuke, and my jaw actually dropped because of his acting skills. Sasuke was my favourite in the anime (along with Itachi), so I had big expectations about the actor who played it, and well, Ryuji fulfilled them! I had a feeling he wasn’t acting like Sasuke, but he himself was Sasuke.

3. Top 3 (or more) favourite butai of the year?

1. Kuroko no basuke stage

2. Dansui sage

3. Yakumo stage

4. Top 3 (or more) least favourite butai of the year?

Actually I didn’t watch many, and I liked those which I saw, so I won’t list anything here.

Now as I think of it I only saw one what was released this year. It was Mihotose no komoriuta.

It’s been 2 years.

15. Lastly, what is your overall opinion of the 2.5D fandom so far?

Uhm… Please don’t kick me for this, but my opinion might be a bit harsh.

It depends on which fans we are talking about exactly. The international fans I find to be really kind and great people, they share everything with everybody as much as they can. I can see this community is really strong and convergent, great friendships formed despite the big distances between the members. I find this really great and amazing!

However, if it comes to the Japanese fans, well… since they are so withdrawn it’s barely possible to get in contact with them. I don’t want to hurt them, no! I really don’t mean that! I just have a (maybe wrong) feeling that they try to keep the guys for themselves, not letting interfans to get to close to them. They keep the information about them and all, and when I think of the reviews of Japan Expo how they behaved during that event, well… I have to say I’m kinda disappointed about them.

Please consider this is just a feeling of mine, it might be wrong, and if you have a different one you are welcomed to share it with me and light me up about things. ^^

So I got tagged by @uchidaikidesu to do this fun ask! Also to be tagged with all the 2.5D senpais by you made me blush hahaha… I’m more of a random lurker who appreciates those generous, sweet people on tumblr!

1. Firstly, how did you manage to find out about 2.5D butai/musical? Which butai/musical was your first and your impression of it?

I didn’t learn/get into 2.5D butai/musical until Touken Ranbu! I got really interested in the game since I was curious why it was so popular. Though my first was actually the Bleach Rock musicals (2007-2008 I think), Kuroshitsuji: The Most Beautiful Death in the World (2010), and a few of the Hakuouki musicals. I was really amazed by the singing and acting! The portrayal and the look of the characters were on point which made me enjoy these series more.

2. Who was your first favourite 2.5D actor/actress? Why?

My first favorite has to be Matsuda Ryo! The reason was he played as Saito Hajime for the Hakuouki musicals and I just fell in love, because he acted as the real Hakuouki Saito! If you have not guess yet Saito is my favorite hahaha

3. Top 3 (or more) favourite butai of the year?

I actually do not recall if I watched any butai that was released this year… I enjoyed watching Patalliro! if that counts haha. And then there’s Yuugeki which I found funny. I haven’t gotten around to watch Touken Ranbu: One Eyed Dragon Daybreak or Joker Game yet ^^;)

4. Top 3 (or more) least favourite butai of the year?

I don’t have a least favorite XD

5. Top 3 (or more) favourite musical of the year?

Touken Ranbu Musical: Mihotose no Komoriuta

I think that’s the only one musical I watched that was released this year… orz I can’t think of any others oh god I am bad

He was very pretty as Maraich (I never actually watched/read the series, picked up the musical because one of the people I follow on here). Another one is Okazaki Momoko who will be playing Lizzy for the upcoming Kuroshitsuji: Tango on the Campania I can’t wait to see how she takes the role!

Assassination Classroom: I am curious how it will be planned out and who will be the crazy octopus Koro-sensei, but it’s one of my favorite anime series. Tbh I just wanna hear the actors/actresses sing those opening songs haha

Gintama (?): This one may sound crazy and possibly far-fetched, but this is my all time favorite hahaha. Though not sure if it suitable lol

Akagami no Shirayukihime: Both manga and anime was cute and enjoyable so I love to see it on stage!

I don’t really participate much in the fandoms haha ^^;) I’m pretty shy when it comes to these things.

15. Lastly, what is your overall opinion of the 2.5D fandom so far?

I think the 2.5D fandom is really cool and nice! Most of the people I follow/see around here are so kind and sweet. I would love to give them all a hug for being great and providing these things, like sharing, even though they didn’t have to for this fandom. Though I wish some people to follow/read the rules and to respect them by not posting links/musicals/butais publicly.
