Honami Mochizuki, Avoidance, Broken Bonds, and Responsibility

I’ve always been a big fan of Vocaloid since 2010 when I was a wee child- I even mess with vocal synths in my free time and make songs when confident enough in my skills- and I’d been eyeing Project Sekai (or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage, but I’ll be referring to it as Prjsk) for a while now. I adore rhythm games and they help me calm down, but I never really bit the bullet until recently. I have no idea why I waited so long! I’ve only been playing for a couple weeks but I’m already mastering the skills and am climbing up.

Anyway, one of my good friends brought me to the attention of Honami Mochizuki, and how many people headcanon her as having AvPD. I’ll assume if you’re reading this you have a vague idea of how the game works, but I’ll explain the background of her and her unit, Leo/need.

Honami is one of four girls in Leo/need, all who were childhood friends who drifted apart when Saki, another part of the group, was hospitalized for chronic illness (which, by the way, I could go on about how surprsingly respectful they are about her disability rep, at least in my opinion as a narcoleptic with a weak immune system). Despite being very close in elementary school, now that they’re all in high school, Honami has drifted from the others and tends to stick with her classmates, seemingly always following their lead.

A common misconception of AvPD is that avoidants don’t have friends. That can be true, but not in the sense that people think! In the past, I had a friend group, but we weren’t exactly friends. I morphed myself for approval so that they’d validate me and I’d be accepted, but I was not myself, and I did not let myself be vulnerable, as close friends should. Even though we had all been “close” since elementary school, what it really was for me was that I had found a group that I thought had accpeted me- only because I had hidden the parts of me they found embarrassing. They still berated me and my choice in other friends that I did actually have connections with, which caused me to drift away from them. That’s something evident in Honami’s story- she sticks with her “friends” because she wanted to get their validation, but these friends didn’t like the other members of Leo/need, so Honami forced herself to stray away from them to avoid being judged and humiliated.

This is something I don’t see discussed much about AvPD- the effect it has on your friends. Although I agree that personality disorder information should focus on those with the disorder, it’s also important to remember the effects it has on those around you (without buying into the abuse propaganda, of course). Honami’s past all too well highlights a part of my journey in AvPD that I wish more people talked about- betraying your friends just for your self image as a coping mechanism. It feels like it keeps you safe, but in reality, it doesn’t. It just hurts your true bonds and further isolates yourself into a group that will take advantage of you and use you as a punching bag.

Even as a 21 year old, I still find myself struggling with this, and I find great comfort in this aspect of Honami’s character. Especially how awkward she is trying to get along with her friends again- repairing old friendships, especially when you’re the source of the rift (for the most part), is always hard. And I love that she doesn’t give up! She keeps going and we see her slowly become more comfortable again with her friends and finding that spark of joy they ignited when she was a child.

I do want to add a disclaimer- I don’t think this coping mechanism is an abuse tactic, but it’s still important to remember the effect it has on other people. When I did this in the past, I thought I was protecting myself and our friendship- why would they want to be seen with someone like me?- but in reality I was hurting them and our bond. Instead of framing this as an abuse tactic, in Prjsk, it’s framed as Honami bearing some responsibility for the drifting, yet respects where she comes from and doesn’t vilify her for it at the same time. It’s quite refreshing, and even though she doesn’t canonically have AvPD, I can definitely see these traits in her, and I absolutely headcanon her with it.

Maybe someday I’ll do a more indepth analysis of Honami having AvPD, but I wanted to especially comment on this part of her. I feel when AvPD is talked about we gloss over the responsiblity we do have on relationships, unless it’s in a negative light painting us as abusers, which isn’t true. Even if Leo/need isn’t my favourite group, I think Honami will continue to have a special place in my heart.

favorite thing about them

His motivations. Special Episode 5 is the best thing to happen to Dusknoir, cuz it gave him so much character. At first, we all thought he was just an evil villain, but naw, he's just... scared. Like, he's a ghost type. Dying is probably no big deal to him. But being completely erased? Removed from reality? That's different. That's terrifying.

Plus, you can tell that he does care about people. He's kind to everyone in the past. He goes out of his way to save Hero and Partner from the Luxray/Manetric tribe, even though he gains nothing from it. He's a genuinely nice person. He just... doesn't want to be erased.

I love a good pure evil villain every now and then, but characters like Dusknoir will always find a place in my heart. People who aren't cruel or malicious, but misguided or scared, who just need someone to be kind and give them a second chance. Always gonna grab my heart.

least favorite thing about them

...listen man, dragging kids into the future and immediately moving to execute them isn't a good look for you. Really puts a damper on your dad vibes. Especially since Partner really wasn't a threat to your survival. Hero you can kinda justify, but c'mon man, Partner did nothing but be kind to you. They don't deserve that.

I really like the idea that Dusknoir and Partner get close. Both because it makes sense that the person he spends the most time with in the past becomes a genuine friend, and because it makes his betrayal even more heartbreaking.

Hmmmm... nothing comes to mind really? Dusknoir doesn't really have any ships outside of the Future Trio. Which makes sense, cuz why would he? Those three are great together!

random headcanon

I love the idea that Dusknoir used to be friends with Hero before they met Grovyle, but turned his back on them to work for Dialga once they started talking about changing the past out of fear. Just really drive that nail in a bit further, ya'know?

unpopular opinion

Listen, I love DadNoir, but I do think people can make him a bit too soft with Hero & Partner every now and then. He's still a pretty grizzled gay (That was supposed to be "guy" but I mistyped and I'm leaving it cuz it's still true but anyway). There are ways to soften him up and give him dad vibes without turning him into a puddle of marshmallow jelly.

I organized an old hard drive the other day and pulled out some music from my college days that I have been re-listening to.

Currently reading:

I have about 15 pages left of « 今会いにゆきます» by Ichikawa Takuji (Be with you, or je reviendrais avec la pluie in French). An easy read but I’m not sure the translation is really doing it any favor…

« Days of Magic, Nights of War » by Clive Barker, book 2 of The Books of Abarat. It’s a re-read of a beloved series so I am having a lot of fun !

And I am still, slowly (okay, very slowly) but surely working my way through « Du côté de chez Swann » by Proust.

Currently watching:

I am in a terrible slump since the end of June, so right now all I’m managing is Laws of Attraction, and because I found my stash of tokusatsu, I am finally (and ridiculously slowly) starting Kamen Rider OOO.

Next in line on my watch list:

I have about a million things I started that I need to catch up, but at the top of the list are: Love Tractor, Destined, and probably La Pluie and Be My Favorite. I also really want to warch Tokyo in April. Oh and Yellowjackets! And movie wise, I will probably check "Marry my dead body" very soon (I am not immune to dash propaganda and ghosts), Utsukushii Kare Eternal, and I want to sit down and finally watch the Suspiria from 2018.

I am most excited for I See You Linger in the Air and Kiseki: Dear to Me right now! Also The Whisperer but we have to wait a little longer for that one.

I have been on a huge Baroque kick for the last ~5 days so I have been listening to a lot of that during my work days.

Ireland - Day 31

Did I overreact yesterday? Probably. Has today confirmed my worries? Kinda. We (the 3 of us) went to the National Museum with a grand total of 4 adult students. At least the museum was somewhat interesting and I had a good time there.

We got back early so as to avoid trouble with public transport and that was a good call seeing as the next 3(!) trains were either canceled or delayed. We also browsed some shops after we brought the students back to find some souvenirs. We didn't find anything we liked but I did find a book. The office walls and the mugs I have to wash and carry around all day have Seamus Heaney quotes on them and when I saw a book with his poetry I couldn't resist. I am not immune to propaganda. At all.

Anyway, I got to chat with the only other German intern who is here (I genuinely didn't know she was here nor that she was German - she literally has the opposite schedule of me). Apparently she not only has to be here for 5 months (good God) but also gets ordered around to do the most stupid shit I have heard of for most of the morning as she doesn't have any breaks to take care of. Like "Go to the shop to buy a new cable" or "Go water the plants" type of tasks. Ridiculous. She seems somewhat fine with it and I really shouldn't do anything on her behalf without her permission but I really wanna help her out :(

Maybe I can get our Dean to let her come with us on the trip tomorrow as we'll going to be Guinness Storehouse (the school will pay the entrance fee for us employees, yay). Looking forward to that, a little at least but since I don't like Guinness there is not that much hype. However, a whole bunch of students signed up for it so maybe it won't feel like a total waste of time going there.

Because we returned to the office so much earlier, I also got to chatting with some of the teachers and they are all quite some characters; one is a 50-something year old dude who talks a lot but uses questions instead of phrases like "You're quite tall, aren't you?" or "I forgot my pen in the classroom, didn't I?". Love him. Also, one is apparently sorta famous on IG but not for teaching but for modeling (slay, Queen) and she showed some really bold outfits, lol. Then there is also that other guy who is prolly in his 30s, who loves cursing in a monotone voice (" Morning, assholes") and expresses his love by insulting you, that's a rough thing to get used to, at least for me. But they're all mostly fine, I think we all just bond through our dislike of some of the people in administration. Healthy office culture here.

My song of the day is Revolution Radio by Green Day. I listened to it on repeat today, 'cause I totally forgot how much I love that song. Also, I feel a little rebellious today what with me being unhappy about my one colleague's situation and also I watched The Order Season 2 and the characters got their fears stolen and did a whole bunch of rebellious and reckless stuff so yeah, it does fit fairly well.

yknow whats sort of weird? Like im suuuuper atheist but for whatever reason i just... prefer more religious christmas songs? /Ones with more explicitly christian imagery, to be more precise. If i had to try and explain my subconscious feelings, i guess a lot of more modern 'secular' christmas music feels more shallow to me? Its odd, i dont believe in god, normally i find christian traditions to be kind of annoying, like easter lol and basically everything to do with church attendance; but specifically for Christmas they I think give me more of that feeling of connection to the past- like briefly joining your voice with a host of the long dead; like feeling the soul of another burn in your chest.

And its not really the specific context of the lyrics either, moreso just their existence as symbols of/stand-ins for that feeling connectedness to the past. In essence, i am not immune to propaganda :P

that said i dont think this says anything really deep about my psyche or whatever beyond that i like sing christmas carols and i think 'hippopotamus for christmas' is terrible

ASOS; Steel and Snow: 07 JON I (pages 91-104)

Jon meets Mance Rayder for what he discovers is the third time.

"And when I'm free," he said slowly, "Will I be free to go?" "Sure you will." She had a warm smile, despite her crooked teeth. "And we'll be free to kill you. It's dangerous being free, but most come to like the taste o' it." She put her gloved hand on his leg, just above the knee. "You'll see." I will, Jon thought, I will see, and hear, and learn, and when I have I will carry the word back to the Wall. The wildlings had taken him for an oathbreaker, but in his heart he was still a man of the Night's Watch, doing the last duty that Qhirin Halfhand had laid on him. ... "They don't care much for that beast o' yours," Longspear Ryk said to Jon. "They're dogs and he's a wolf," said Jon. "They know he's not their kind." No more than I am yours.

So Jon's holding onto his identity as a brother of the Watch, for now, which is expected given he's literally just started his first foray into espionage.

It's going to be interesting in seeing his mental struggle with "indoctrination" into the wildlings. It's not like they'd be doing it maliciously, but Jon staying with them means he has to be one of them in some capacity.

And his risk of "going native" is actually higher than it might be otherwise, because he's holding onto Qhorin's order so strongly. Because he was ordered undercover, he has an excuse for integrating himself with the wildlings, where normally there might be even a mild reluctance for certain facets of engaging with their culture, Jon has the mental excuse "I'm doing it for a reason, it's for the cause" so his engagement is potentially going to be higher, more... enthusiastic, we could say.

It's like people who think they're immune to propaganda, that assumption has actually removed some wariness that would have slowed the effects, and made them more susceptible to it.

But not all he saw was warlike. He saw women dancing as well, and heard a baby crying, and a little boy ran in front of his garron, all bundled up in fur and breathless from play. Sheep and goats wandered freely, while oxen plodded along the riverbank in search of grass. The smell of mutton drifted from one cookfire, and at another he saw a boar turning on a wooden spit.

And there's another thing that's dangerous for his convictions to return to the Watch: that the wildlings are so obviously just people. not evil and constantly malicious or hungry for battle, but people with their own normal culture and lives.

"The free folk"

... oh no, another songfic chapter :'(

I have this thing with songfics, where I end up reading them two or three times, just because my brain can't decide which input to accept: narration or song lyrics. And the thing is, when done correctly, the lyrics are supposed to punctuate and accentuate the narration, as we saw in the last chapter with Sansa's new pawn status reveal being backed up by the turning fate of the maid from the maid and the bear song.

... black steel... hmmmm.... nope, doesn't count. half because they didn't say the magic words, but also because we can't be sure it was anything more than coloured steel.

"This boy?" The earless man was angered by the news. "the Halfhand should have been mine. Do you have a name, crow?" "Jon Snow, Your Grace." he wondered if he was expected to bend the knee as well. "Your Grace?" The earless man looked at the big white-bearded on. "You see. He take me for a king." The bearded man laughed so hard he sprayed bits of chicken everywhere. He rubbed the grease from his mouth with the back of a huge hand. "A blind boy, must be. Who ever heard of a king without ears? Why, his crown would fall straight down to his neck! ha!"

"Sorry, I don't know what Mance Rayder looks like. I've only met one king before, and based on him I thought kings just tended to be the ones who had to have their demands and opinions heard first." Jon shrugged, "and they can probably have as many or as few ears as they want."

*shudders in second-hand embarrassment* seriously, they could have just described Mance before hand, or Ygritte could have given him a subtle poke and told Jon that Mance was the singer.

Well, at least he didn't kneel like in the show, that felt worse somehow.

He wore wool and leather, and his only garment of note was his ragged black wool cloak, its long tears patched with faded red silk.

... His cloak from the Night's Watch? Like obviously it wouldn't just be thrown away, not north-of-the-wall were every resource needs to give the max use first, but for it to be kept and patched so he's wearing it even now... cause how long's he been gone from the watch? years at least right?

Where'd the silk come from though? A raid south of the wall? Cause afaik, silk worms don't like the kind of temperatures you see with snow.

Good material choice though, silk is an amazing thermal regulator, and makes a great under layer in cold weather. Top it with wool and you're all toasty. Stupid expensive though, which is understandable given how it's made. (... I wanted to say 'greebled wool' but that is not the correct phrase XD)

"Our ferocious chicken-eater here is my loyal Tormund. -"

Giantsbane!?!? !!!!! TORMUND!!!! ahem, I'm fine. Sorry, I just enjoyed his character in the show.

"- And here also is Tormund Thunderfist, Husband to Bears, -"

Oh good, and there was me worried the only queer rep was Loras and Renly, who... well Loras is a twink for sure.

"By wing? We have no trained ravens here. No, I knew your face. I've seen it before. Twice." It made no sense at first, but as Jon turned it over in his mind, dawn broke. "When you were a brother of the Watch..." "Very good! Yes, that was the first time. You were just a boy, and i was all in black, one of a dozen riding escort to old Lord Commander Qorgyle when he came down to see your father at Winterfell. -" ... "- When was the other time?" "When King Robert came to Winterfell to make your father Hand," the King-beyond-the-Wall said lightly.

Ohhhh, surprise backstory connections!!!

Mance, Robb, Jon, and the pile of snow is the cutest shit. (Though you do need to be careful with pranks like that, snow is heavy, and dumping a huge amount on people can hurt them, but they were so smol, so I'm sure it wasn't that much snow.)

"The Halfhand was carved of old oak, but I am made of flesh, and I have a great fondness for the charms of women... which makes me no different from three-quarters of the Watch. -"

Mance Rayder confirms 25% of the Night's Watch is gay or ace.

("Or bi!" well, no, because they'd still count in the three-quarters who like women.)

"- And she sewed up the rents in my cloak as well, with some scarlett silk from Asshai that her grandmother had pulled from the wreck of a cog washed up on the Frozen Shore. It was the greatest treasure she had, and her gift to me."

Ahhh, that's where the silk came from.

Jon took another swallow of mead. There is only one tale that he might believe. "You say you were at Winterfell, the night my father feasted King Robert." "I did say it, for I was." ... "And did you see where I was seated, Mance?" He leaned forward. "Did you see where they put the bastard?" Mance Rayder looked at Jon's face for a long moment. "I think we had best find you a new cloak," the king said, holding out his hand.

Round of applause for Jon 👏👏👏 That was some excellent thinking under pressure, and, he technically didn't lie, by virtue of Not Answering the Question.

He asked a leading question about an unconnected subject which he had reason to be angry about, and which could easily be taken as an answer. I do wonder if Mance knows that, and if he's just accepting that for the time being Jon is one of them, because he does sense a kindred in him, or if he's fully and completely fooled.

It's an interesting juxtapose as well, to go from Sansa and her new "allies" and Jon and his new "allies," I think I might trust Mance more than I trust Olenna, TBH, but that might be my bias against Olenna, and the fact that Mance's goals and objective are more transparent. And we're off to Dany next, who also got new "allies" of her own last we saw her. So we'll see how that goes.

I am not immune to propaganda, what gets me is just different than most ppl. Like I'm not falling for copganda and military propaganda in MCU movies or whatever the fuck.

What gets me are love songs and romcoms talking about the "one" or true love or "soul mates" and shit. My whole life has been the universe screaming to me that it's all bullshit, but I keep holding out hope for it anyway.

something like that. topics this time include: weather, propaganda songs, catchphrases, living inside a mechanimal, black markets, centipede watch, martial arts, backpacks, paintball, and Rhinox

Cybertron is not a very wet planet, so there’s not actually a lot of precipitation in most places. when there is, it’s definitely water, although often acidic and impure. there’s permanent ice caps at the poles, and it can get cold enough to rain dry ice. wind and dust are more commonly tracked weather patterns than humidity, although high humidity and occasional heavy precipitation still occur, they’re just guided by the planetary weather department. floods are very common in the Rust Sea, since it’s a seasonal floodplain in an endorheic basin. flooding is actually a major problem everywhere else, even though it’s a very rare problem. soil isn’t really a thing, and most of Cybertron is bad at absorbing water, so flash floods can be huge until they find a crack or canyon or porous material to soak through. underground cities especially need to be designed with this in mind

standing out in the rain isn’t actually a big deal for most mecha! water is iffy when submersed in it, but not inherently dangerous. your car will be okay in the rain, but not driving into the ocean, yknow? the average person spending hours in a torrential downpour may end up with some water damage, but it’s not a big worry unless they’re particularly delicate. honestly more people are concerned with acidity rather than water damage! flightframes flying through storms or who live near the poles or higher mountains do have to contend with ice buildup, which is a concern because of wing shape and weight rather than wetness

Velocitron is a desert that sees little to no precipitation, although it isn’t so hot as to be unbearable in SNAP so folks do go out into the sunlight. Caminus has a lot more water and thus wetter weather, Devisiun is two dry planets, and Eukaris actually has proper oceans. Carcer is like a blend of Cybertron’s metals and Velocitron’s rocky desert

yknow i’ve been sitting on this one for awhile and i still don’t know! i’m not well versed in this area tbh. i imagine there are city-state and planetary anthems, historical ballads about the might of the Stratocracy, religious hymns edited to include functionist values as praise, and old folk tunes taken and repurposed as patriotic songs. and of course as their equal opposite there are workers’ songs, old miners chants and spacer shanties, complaints about the government put in a rhyme and a metaphor and hummed on the job, junker ditties traded as a game on the street, and soulful songs calling for the Primes or the Guiding Hand to come sweep away the evils of this world. and all the other types in this marvelous post

of COURSE they do, this is in the ANIME genre! the sort of general faction catchphrases are in this lil chart here, eg the Autobots with the classic “Roll out!” that Optimus says and ��Peace by example!” summing up their ideology. i also tried to come up with snappy descriptions for these tech specs that aren’t exactly catchphrases but fall in that same general area. otherwise, i am going to sneak in as many quotes, references, Easter eggs, and Furmanisms as possible

definitely not very survivable. or, maybe survivable, technically, but not super livable or thriveable. they are animals, not vehicles, and they don’t really turn into vehicles either. so while maybe you could fit inside, idk, ballast tanks, or air sacs, or something, it’s going to be uncomfortable, because you are Inside The Internal Organs Of A Living Creature. you will also definitely be setting off a critical immune response in said living creature bc debris isn’t supposed to be inside there, or worse, parasites. because honestly that’s what you’d be, a parasite. if you want to live comfortably inside a living creature, you’ll have to dig up some fairytales and find a Titan

there’s certainly organized crime rings, mobs and mafias, and black markets that do focus on the smuggling of contraband or goods or even people. Thunderhoof is definitely not involved with any of these shhhh thanks. Lockdown totally isn’t involved either, and Rum-Maj absolutely has no connections to the underground markets of junkers. actually this is a niche i have Shadow Striker filling but she is so far in the background as to be invisible in SNAP’s story

in general i mean a lot of black market stuff is more illegal than automatically evil? like yes outlawed goods and services could certainly be immoral but they could also just be illegal as a method of control, it will depend on the situation in question. technically mechanimal parts sold for consumption are black market items, which is completely ignored on Carcer. when Maccadam preps a mechanimal dish from Carcer for school lunch, he is absolutely dealing in black market trading. which, cmon, it’s Maccadam. he knows how to skirt the consequences

i think perhaps the biggest arguably “non evil” black market is every junker trader, vendor, and fence. they don’t have functions so they technically aren’t allowed to do any sort of business, but they do anyway, and the illegality automatically makes them the widest spread and most ubiquitous black market. and it’s all like, innocuous stuff to just barely scrape by. recycled stuff out of the trash, scraps and hastily repaired items, maybe some handmade doohickeys. they largely trade amongst one another and very low caste mecha so they don’t risk catching anyone’s attention. they’re doing this for survival and barebones enrichment, not high risk items and giant trades. patronizing a junker market is a good way to support them, theoretically, but if you aren’t already 100% proven ride or die best buddies with a junker, good luck ever finding a market. they are not risking their safety so some strangers can buy their trinkets, that’s how they get empurata’d or worse. the locations vary and the vendors vary and the everything varies all the time, so there’s no real constants i can describe, but perhaps the most wanted items junkers would trade for would be medical supplies, hygiene supplies, fresh energon, and upgrade stockpiles for the gutter children. a communal benefit rather than individual profit

yknow i haven’t really thought about it? i feel like it would be a good insecticon species, and i like the idea of a parasitic/symbiotic relationship, but mecha are pretty averse to other things attaching to their bodies like that. i mean what do you want, a virus or something?? gross! it’d be like wearing a leech as a fashion accessory (and before you ask, no there’s not really any medical usage of these or any other mechanimal, largely due to how they can’t be domesticated and only spottily trained, and there’s just so many better tools to use)

however i think this would fit a niche as a parasite on other mechanimals for certain, especially ones with stiff plating and bulky kibble that can’t get around to pry them off

oh sure! and like there’s established martial arts on Cybertron too, not just on the colonies. it’s an ancient thing that’s not exactly something you can erase within a single totalitarian regime, if only for the outcries of “cultural desecration”. boxing is a thing here, Grandus and Star Upper are both notable boxing champs. fencing is a thing too, Star Saber and Wing both practice fencing as a hobby. there’s this whole post that includes fight dancing. it’s considered distasteful, but it’s also basically the place the excessively violent are shunted off to in order to express their urges and temper their anger. a very patronizing sort of allowance

actual martial arts include all the stuff you see in canon, like metallikato and jet judo. Yoketron is a benefactor of the JAAT and runs a dojo that teaches all the major forms. technically this is just for historical and cultural preservation, and it’s mostly actors, dancers, or athletes who come train under him with the excuse that the physical competence they learn can directly relate to their functions. there are very few, very regulated tournaments or competitions, and anyone looking to become a martial arts master themselves must petition to have their function switched to this specific thing. it’s generally much easier to get into martial arts on the colonies for certain, and on Carcer if you don’t know how to throw a punch by the time you’re a youngling you’re going to get hurt, so there’s definitely fluctuating levels of allowed and expected violence between cultures here. mecha are durable, sure, but two similar frametypes are likely to be fairly equally matched, so minor injuries are okay. the one universally official rule everywhere is no triggering of entrapment protocols

definitely, they don’t all have subspace and even digital things need some physical reader to be stored! typically most grounders have it easy, because trailers like Orion’s are pretty simple to work with, and may function as more than just storage. flight frames often have a little storage space in their own cockpits, like a natural pocket, but any cargo more than that and they’ll find it difficult to tote around, unless they’re a big flightframe with a lot of interior cargo space (which isn’t very common in this canon!). many frametypes have little pockets like this, even beast and toolformers, although it’s not going to manifest as a cockpit

most bags, backpacks, and other personal storage units must be designed to latch onto a mech as another piece of kibble, transforming along with them so as not to inhibit their alt mode or anything. so bags are more like streamlined boxes, manufactured person by person since there’s no standard frametype, and everyone has a size and weight limit simply by their own bodyplan. it’ll vary widely, and i think these personal storage units are a major staple of their “fashion” industry, which focuses on what we’d recognize as clothing maybe only 40% of the time. everyday simple objects like comms or IDs are designed to fit into even very small storage spaces for almost any frametype, and some things can clip on or magnetize to plating for safekeeping in absence of pockets

fsflgjlfjsdsj yeah yeah i think it is! not all paint is good, and not all paint is beneficial, but i think it’d be edible, if messy. maybe closer to food coloring than actual food itself? paintball would be a cool foodfight. it’d also work in bauble tea, or as sprinkles and fancy food toppers, or lil gummy balls
