ok so I read this book once and I have no clue what it is so I need help:

there's this woman who is mute, she goes to an art museum and is staring at the painting that's just totally captivating everyone, and like hears the painting talk to her or sees it moving and she eventually realizes she can go into the painting

there's a man trapped in the painting (they eventually fall in love)

the man went to like a Dr or dentist appointment (iirc) and some guy painted him into the painting and that's why he's trapped there

also I'm fairly certain the main villain is like. the literal devil. he can go into the painting too

the first book ends with the woman getting the man out of the painting and they're on a train to go somewhere. I never got to read the 2nd book (I'm 99% certain there's at LEAST one more book)

There is so much going on between all of them. #Even on a purely platonic reading - the miscommunication and male yearning for friendship hurt so bad. #When we got the Big Hug scene in the epilogue arc I was whooping and hollering! Pure catharsis moment! #I also don't like hugs very much so I really felt it went Shuro ('hates being touched') went in for the bear hug. #Do not get me started on the agony of 'always lying' Kabru telling the truth (I just wanted to be friends) #and 'always believes' Laios thinking it's another lie and brushing him off. #I am once again supporting dungeon meshi day by posting art.
