What are your least favorite lmk characters?
(lmk is one of the few shows where I think 'least favorite' is actually a fitting description. Most of the cast just have such fun and unique personalities, so it‘s pretty difficult to actively dislike any of them imo!)
(not counting cop out answers like the Goldfish Demon)
I‘ve sat here for an hour trying to figure out which characters I would pick myself. I‘ve genuinely never thought about it before, that‘s how GOOD this show is 😆
Like- the Host Girl low-key feels like cheating. (Again- I don‘t dislike her but she doesn’t really have a CANON personality. Everything about her is purely fanon and hinges on her being Macaque‘s generic cute daughter.)
Not sure if Mo counts either. He doesn’t really rise in the rankings through virtue of being a cat for me. Most of the time there just isn‘t much for him to do.
I physically CANNOT pick someone from the main cast or the brotherhood- that hurts just thinking about it. ALL WOMEN ARE QUEENS (I have soft spot for Chang‘e in particular!). And even the characters we’re supposed to dislike are such a blast on screen! The Mayor was so fun! And Lady Bone Demon? As a least favorite? NEVER.
I guess by process of elimination my least fav is Syntax? That‘s the closest to a reoccurring character I can get.
IDK. Maybe you have a character that comes to mind immediately 🤔
I'm going to argue that there is some interesting stuff with Mo, and I may sound the way the pepe silvia guy looks, but that's okay. Anyways, episode 2x03 shows Mo's devotion/loyalty to Sandy, which on it's own isn't really much, but it's the fact that Mo is the one to bring sandy back in 4x06. Pigsy's big heartfelt speech doesn't do the trick, but Mo giving Sandy unconditional love does. And boy, is there something there! Like, "You said it Mo! The world may be full of darkness, but to let the light shine, all we need to do is stand together!" Girl, what is going on between Mo and Sandy! Mo get's a pass from me not by virtue of being a cat (I'm actually a dog person, I got 4 puppies), but by virtue of loving Sandy. We have so much in common.
But yeah! There really isn't a character I dislike in this show. I love everyone a lot, and most characters, even if they don't have interesting stuff going on are a blast to watch on screen.
I'm someone who is legitimately a fan of the Jade Emperor because of his one cool speech and subsequent death on screen. "Heh. And I suppose you think that person is you? How is it you come to stand before me today Azure, was there a point where you questioned it? Or were you too oblivious with your own delusion to realize that you were a mere piece in someone else's game. You may try Azure, the throne will be yours, but if you think I'll gift it freely, you are mistaken." Coolest shit ever. Big fan.
But. And I'm sorry to everyone, but I'd say Jin and Yin are my least favorites. I know. The gold and silver demons everyone loves. Like, they're fine, they're entertaining, they have a lovely placeholder as a manifestation of a simpler time, but that's also just kinda all they are. And they don't need to be anything else! It just also solidifies them as my least favorites asdfadsf. I'm sorry boys.

I never see anyone posting about him and I’m not doing this just to fill that gap but bro
I really like Yellowtusk and he is def my fav brotherhood member (yeah I love Peng and all, but I don’t really think they’re an INTERESTING character at the moment yanno), it kinda sucks I don’t see anyone talking about him
Tumblr media
For one, he’s like. an old man fr
He’s genuinely OLD in age and appearance, which I think is really neat since age doesn’t really show for most of the other immortal characters. It puts him in a different ballpark. And he’s meant to be “the Wise” one of the group, and he is genuinely rational and noble intentioned through and through, far more than the delusional gumballl Azure was - but he somehow he ends up on the WRONG side of things. How his own wisdom conflicts with his loyalty is genuinely interesting to me.
I can’t help but wonder if he was the practical and rational brains behind the whole initial rebellion as presumably the one who spent the longest working for the Celestial Realm, but he just didn’t have SWK’s or Azure’s sheer force of personality to make him leader. But he also made assumptions and missed things, and despite being the one who is supposed to be the most knowledgeable, in the end he didn’t know the Jade Emperor - OR Azure - as well as he thought he did.
I feel like in a similar way that Azure projected his own ideals onto SWK, Yellowtusk kind of did the same thing in regards to Azure (since they all made it clear they never really took SWK seriously as the new Emperor). After presumably spending so long stuck in one place and getting mentally aged and beaten down by his inability to change the system, and thinking he was finally following someone who could do what he couldn’t and make change possible...he just ended up becoming a lackey once again, except in a worse way. That...honestly makes him outright tragic to me in a traditional sense, in the sense that someone almost has everything figured out, but just makes one wrong move that ruins everything.
I’m not saying he’s without wrongdoing or guilt, but I really do think that he was genuinely misguided, too narrow-minded with his wisdom to make any real change, and lacking in the hopefullness that drives the Monkie Kids. and the rest of the Brotherhood being an absolute dumpster fire of a group didn’t help either but that’s another post
Anyways I like my elephant grandad a lot, and season 4 shows us all first hand why you should never put the himbo in charge, Thank you all for coming hehe

wanna know what made me mad about the final battle in the s4 special
is how like the lmk gang so easily defeated the lion camel ridge trio when it shown last time how they easily kicked their ass (don’t say how MK managed to punch azure multiple times in the celestial realm he caught azure off gaurd )
And I know they had a training montage but one there is like THREE of azure peng and yellowtusk wukong was the only one who was training macaque and nezha were just chilling like they were fucking playing chess
not to mention AZURE IS THE NEW JADE EMPEROR MAKING HIM EXTREMELY POWERFUL NOT TO MENTION wukong in the show WAS DEFEATED BY THE JADE EMPEROR
ALSO THE FACT PENGS THE SWORN UNCLE AND BODYGAURD OF THE BUDDHA
THERE IS ALSO YELLOWTUSK ALSO BEING A BODYGAURD (I know he is a steed in the OG book but this is lmk were it showed them being deities and shit) of bodhisattva Samantabhadra!
SAME GOES TO AZURE he was the bodygaurd of bodhisattva Manjusri
MEANING these guys are really powerful
ALSO in the book azure had tried to overthrown the jade emperor guards tried to stop him he goes to his huge form (yes he could always do that-) AND GOBBLE THEM UP LIKE THEY WERE SNACKS JUST SLURPED THEM UP LIKE NOODLES
and don’t give me the “well azure was trying to hold the world together he was probably weaker-“ MY FRIEND HE STILL KICKED ASS DURING THE FINAL BATTLE it just MK did some corny you made me mad so I’m gonna go super saiyain mood and kick your ass for eye candy and to move the plot to a different direction
azure had also the scrolls! (Cause I know for sure he didn’t have lost all of them AND CANT TELL ME he didn’t go to the underworld himself to collect more just in case! Keep in mind he is the ruler of the three realms now he can have anything his heart desired!)
I know I maybe repeat some info over and over I’m just baffled cause I have a list of reason and there is logic of why azure peng and yellowtusk should have won!
the show and creators (COUGH COUGH AND THE FANS COUGH COUGH) did the lion camel ridge trio so dirty they had so much potential and I hate it cause they are my favorite

Yellowtusk, due to his change of heart, ended up with a lighter sentence. Community service, which for the Heavenly Court, is basically babysitting SWK and his troop of murder children. This is also the first time since the New Years debacle any child of SWK has been in the Celestial Realm, and it only proofs their point in not wanting SWK's spawn to have a reason to visit (unfortunately Nez Ha, Gold Star, and Guanyin are good reason as well as Lao Zu dye to being the only person capable of handling Stone Monkey medical checkups)
referencing this post.
Ha! Considering Yellowtusk was the only one able to calm Yuebei down when she was in the Brotherhood's custody ("She likes elephants." Wukong explains), he's a fair choice to keep an eye on SWK and his brood whenever they enter the Celestial Realm.
And even if SWK and his kiddos are heavily monitored whenever they go to either Lao Tzu or Gold Star for Stone Monkey advice, some slip ups are bound to occur.
Macaque: "Wukong... where's the baby?" Wukong: "Oh, the girls said they'd watch her while we're being seen to." Macaque: "Girls? Do you mean the Peach Mai- oh sweet buddha." Yellowtusk, sighing tiredly: "I turn my head for one second, and you let loose the hungriest maw in all of the Three Realms into the Orchard." (meanwhile in the royal Orchards) Yuebei: *completely shredding through a basket of peaches bigger than her whole body. Is covered in peach juice and pulp* Peach Maidens: "Aww!" "Reminds you of anyone?" "You can really tell who her baba is!" Yuebei: *loud wet burp!* Peach Maidens: "Oops! Looks like someone is eating a little too fast!" "That was certainly was one of didi's [little brother's] noises!" Other Celestials in the Orchard: *all sharing looks of familar horror*
By the time Yellowtusk gets there all he sees is a bunch of celestials curled up in a corner while a baby monkey is just lost in the sauce of all this celestial fruit. The Peach Maidens don't even try to defend themselves, they're only concerned with Yuebei getting in trouble, she is only a baby after all.
Yellowtusk just laughs, as if he'd fault the little monkey princess for eating her fill. The Queen Mother doesnt need to be told about this. He knows the little monkey would be able to do far worse if she actually felt threatened.

LMK Azure Lion Headcanons
Tumblr media
Honourable
(taken from the LMK wiki) noble demon who cares for others, incredibly self-righteous
he’s an EMPATH AHH-
being fr, he had probably never been told ‘no’ a day in his life. His views have always been backed up/encouraged by other people and he probably believes he could do no wrong as long as he thinks its okay.
He also probably doesn’t see the bigger picture in situations.
Like with the Jade Emperor, all he was focused on was what the Jade Emperor/Heaven was doing and stopping them, rather than the consequences of what killing the Jade Emperor would bring.
He didn’t think about what would happen after he became the new emperor.
Even if he could have handled the Jade Emperor’s power, I think he still wouldn’t have known what the fuck he was doing and shit would have gone wrong anyway because of his own negligence and lack of planning.
Like, their plan was to kill the Jade Emperor because of shit heaven was doing. Cool, that’s all dandy. So what happens after that?
After the Jade Emperor was killed, there’s no guarantee that the immortals in heaven would even recognise/accept him as their new emperor
uhh, a n yway-
He FOR SURE has like, a 26-step hair routine, have you SEEN THAT MANE??
He is really meticulous about maintaining things, like his hair, his sword, his want for vengeance-
his scent is like metal, black ice and pine
hes really kind and helpful when hes not plotting to take over the world-
Like in season 5, he shows remorse when the brotherhood attacks the MK gang, even telling them to stop attacking
He also gives MK multiple chances to leave peacefully, showing that he doesn’t want to fight/hurt him
Like, he would unironically call himself an empath and we love that for him :)
Lions really enjoy relaxing and just laying around and while Azure is really active and fit, when hes not training or actively doing something, hes bathing in the sun like a mf cat
Peng and Yellowtusk be lookin’ for their leader and hes just dramatically laying on a rock in the sun fr-
he is also really dramatic, did you not see his first scenes?
he literally poses with the dramatic wind, saying his own name like-
Lions are also pretty social and hunt cooperatively so his friends mean everything to him
He also unironically calls his group of friends his ‘pride’
Lions have really good night vision so there have been multiple instances where it’s the dead of night and Peng’s gone down to the kitchen in the dark to get a snack and then all of a sudden-
“Oh! Hello Peng-!“
“WHAT THE FUCKK-“
Azure gives all his friends head nuzzles whether they want it or not (head nuzzling is a common greeting for lions :D)
It also takes a huge conscious effort for him to not lick and ‘groom’ his friends
Frfr, hes just standing there, hands clenched and shaking like “do not lick the Peng, he will kill you, DO NOT THE PENG-“
He walks on his tiptoes (bc when lions walk, they don’t put their heels on the ground)

I know you said only tang, but I feel like dbk and yellowtusk would know something fishy is happening. Maybe they wouldnt know what, but they know macaque and they know shadowpeach. Dbk especially if macaque ever stopped by post dbk return cause he has seen static macaque
Peng im not sure, would probably be stuck in head with jealousy and having another obstacle for mac to think deeply about it
Yeah I think you're right, some of the other brothers are bound to realize something is up. At first, DBK would probably dismiss it as another game the monkeys are playing in their ridiculous attempt at being romantic with each other. He'd probably even take advantage of it at first because, well Azure is clearly helping Macaque to make Wukong jealous.. so maybe Wukong needs someone to make Macaque jealous? He gets to spend a lot more time with Wukong at first and that's really fun, but the longer this goes on the more agitated Wukong becomes when it's clearly not working and so it becomes decidedly less fun... I don't know that DBK knows Azure quite well enough to put it together what has actually happened here, though. He clearly admires the lion so it probably would not even cross his mind that Azure was capable of doing something so manipulative as creating a love potion (he's especially unlikely to think of it because everyone knows Azure loves Wukong the most, so it would make no sense for him to give it to Macaque lol)
Peng is too distracted by how jealous they are to properly get a handle on what's really going on. They are so annoyed that Macaque went to Azure of all people to try to make Sun Wukong jealous. How many times had they flirted with the monkey only to be ignored or rebuffed, and then instead of going to Peng who is the obvious choice, he picks Azure instead? Ridiculous! (perhaps smart, though, because Peng definitely would have used it as an opportunity to try to win the monkey over) ...anyway, now Peng is really jealous of Azure which was not something anyone intended for this situation. And with how petty Peng can be, it is going to cause problems.
Now, Yellowtusk is the one who is really most likely to come to a correct conclusion about what's going on here. He knows Azure well enough to find him capable of using something like a love potion... he also knows the brotherhood enough to know that making actual plans among this group is unlikely to result in the wanted result.... buuuuuuut, he also doesn't really question Azure very much, does he? I mean, he's so loyal that he's almost willing to let the world come apart at the seams, so I seriously doubt he'd rat out Azure to anyone else in the brotherhood. He'd probably just go to Azure and ask if he needs help with this situation... which the lion obviously turns down. He's got everything under control, Yellowtusk! Don't pay attention to the fact that Macaque is hanging off his arm and not listening to his requests to please give him some space. Azure can handle this by himself :U

Hullo Knox, after eighty four years I have only one last question/lh
What do you think of ol Yellowtusk? (He’s the first lmk character that seems to be in the mental/physical age range my LWAU oc duo are in so I am invested in him ahbahaba but that’s just me)
Also ily (gives you a blanket and water) reading your answers are a delight
HI RAY ILY2 HECK (thank you for the blanket and water)
You are so valid for being invested in the grandpa HGKLJSDFJ Honestly I'm kinda sad we didn't get more of him! Yellowtusk seems like a really interesting fella. I like that we got an older character in the show itself thanks to him. One of my favourite things about him was his reading glasses lol kinda silly but I really really liked em
It'd be cool if we got him sticking around, or showing up again and taking on a more grandpa role with the cast here and there. him sitting somewhere in Pigsy's noodles and reading would be such a vibe while all the chaos is going on. He seems like the kinda guy who can handle reading while people (mei and mk) are bouncing off the walls.
I don't know if i have any particular thoughts about him, aside from GRANDPA, but honestly its kinda fun to think about why this tired old guy is sticking around all these young kids who want to take over the world, y'know? I'd like to think about him more. Get this old man a sweater-

Other thoughts
Oh, hello again!
I want to some theories about the first episode of Monkie Kid season 5, just little thoughts that came to me these days
These are all my thoughts, my ideas, but I really don't know what to think anymore. Really appreciated if you want to share other theories
But first of all let's talk about season 4... Season 4 finished with our "heroes" winning their battle, Nezha going to the Celestial realm with Jade's emperor power and Yellowtusk. There can be many different ideas on that scene, like "when Yellowtusk said the word *heroes* everyone was in front of him except for MK" and maybe this thing can lead to some thought like *MK gonna be bad* or *MK evil arc begins now*, but honestly I don't think it will happen. Let me explain better: MK is literally scared about his new form and, even though he fought against Azure with that and did a good job using his power, I think he knows very well he still has to learn A LOT. He almost sacrificed himself to save his friends lots of time and he would do everything he can to protect them, so I don't think and I hope there won't be any villain arc. Otherwise, something else can happen, like the fact he could lose control because of the influence of Nuwa or something else, but without hurting anyone.
(oh boy, I think I wrote too much 😂)
Let's talk about my ideas on the first episode of season 5...
MONKEY KING'S HOUSE IS COMPLETELY GONE IN THE LAST EPISODE OF SEASON 4 So I think they're gonna rebuild it? Maybe? Poor house... :(
Tumblr media
I feel like they're gonna do the rebuilt of the house, making that better and bigger for everyone and maybe adding some new monkey kinging stuff xD But not sure, because the last season they just went to the beach like nothing happened to the house, so maybe it's already built? Or... they still have to rebuild it? Isn't flower fruit mountain like split in half?
Tumblr media
Sooo Where does monkey king lives now?
(I think I wrote a bit too much, but I like to share thoughts and I like to listen to others opinion so feel free to share a comment/reblog with your theories and else. This season is giving me too much hype, BUT I'M HAPPY WITH THAT) (Also sorry for my bad english 😅)

WAIT HOLD UP
When talking about Mei being like Monkey King. There was a really strong parallel in season 3!
It was kinda mentioned already? But I don‘t just mean thematically, in the execution too! The scene Wukong was willing to kill the host child and Mei was willing to burn him, because they felt they had no other choice.
(I think she even mentioned that this is what Monkey King would do. What a hero would do.)
They both even had that small confrontation of "Are you really willing to sacrifice a child/friend?". And both make the tough call that this is something they HAVE to do. Maybe with some guilt, yes, but always without question.
GOD YOU'RE SO RIGHT ANON.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: "Stop! Have you forgotten? Destroy me and you destroy the host. Have you become so desperate to end me that you would sacrifice this blameless, innocent, child?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sun Wukong: "You're giving me no choice! All the time you spent locked away and you haven't changed a bit! I'm going to finish you, like I should have done a long time ago! I told you—you should have stayed buried."
(3x11 This Imperfect World) (Always manifesting this scene for eamk)
-
Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: "*laughs* You think whatever happens to Wukong is of concern to me? He is a vessel—nothing more. You would really destroy your own friends to save yourself?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red Son Voice Over: "Harmonize the wild energies and emotions burning within us and focus them!"
Tumblr media
Mei: "Wukong knew the risks, it's what he would do if he had to. That's the hard part of being a hero!"
(3x12 The Corrupted King) (Omg hi hand motif! Hi!!!!)
-
Bonus Secret 3rd Parallel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MK: "I'm not gonna let you win!" Lady Bone Demon: "In your thirst to destroy me you used all your powers!" MK: "Not all of them."
(2x10 This is the End!)
-
Some extra thoughts under the cut!
What interests me the most about this parallel is the fact that Mei would totally sacrifice Wukong and Wukong would totally sacrifice that little girl—it's a simply trolley problem for them—but if that person were MK?
I don't think either of them could do it.
Here's where I get into more speculative territory, because personally I think Wukong killed Macaque, and I'm also a believer in EAMK, so I'm going to be plastering a lot of red string!
SO. Would Wukong willingly sacrifice someone who meant so much to him?
You could argue he already did so with Macaque—I think that's what they're setting up anyways. I think Macaque's death is going to fall into place with our continuing "do you sacrifice one person for the many" conflict we have going on here, one that was definitely built upon in 4x13:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yellowtusk: "I know full well what would happen should Azure fail but- but he is my brother. I owe him my life!" Sandy: "We get it! I'd do anything to help my friends! But at the cost of the world?" Pigsy: "I'm sorry pal, but NOTHIN' is worth that price!"
(4x13 Rip and Tear)
-
So it seems clear: You sacrifice the one person for the sake of the world.
I think looking at this conflict and using it as a lens to look at Samadhi Fire Mei brings up some interesting points. If Wukong's had pulled off his plan without Macaque or Ne Zha's interference, and then hadn't been able to safely extract the Samadhi Fire from Mei...would Wukong have sacrificed her?
Everyone in 3x10 was willing to sacrifice Mei in a way, to leave her—except MK. MK refused to abandon her, risking himself and the world if he wasn't successful and the Samadhi Fire continued to burn out of control. But in this situation...choosing one person over the world was the right choice.
((Just wanted to point out that both Wukong and Mei are very willing to sacrifice each other which fascinates me. Moving on!))
Wukong himself isn't won't make that sacrifice if he feels there's another option: "You're giving me no choice!" (which I think echoes Mei's "We don't have a choice!" from 3x02)
All of this is a long winded way for me to say that at some point MK is going on the chopping block, either next season or beyond. It's going to be either him or the world, or at least it's going to seem that way, and our protags are going to have to make a very hard choice (omg hi "They will destroy you, harbinger of chaos!").
BUT, BRINGING THIS BACK AROUND TO EAMK.
Wukong won't destroy the one life if he feels he has a choice. This is where baby MK steps in: "all the time [he] spent locked away", and he changed EXTREMELY. To the point where he's basically not the thing that was sealed away in the stone, and very much just a "blameless, innocent, child"—meaning Wukong had a choice.
SO. Basically it's my hope that Wukong already chose MK over the world once, and him and Mei are gonna do it again.

This may be a reach but
Both MK and Mei having something inside them that could be world-destroying, god-killing, and being afraid of it (with a bonus of Wukong hiding it from them both but idk if u think swk knew of the monkey form beforehand)
Bonus with Mei and MK having someone that can/has helped with training and mastering their abilities (Redson & Wukong respectively)
Oh boy, do I think SWK knew about MK's origins!
I've been a believer in this since post-s3, with there being plenty of evidence throughout the first 3 seasons to support it. Cause like, imma be honest, the show doesn't make sense if Wukong didn't know. I think by this point we can assume that choosing and training MK to be his "successor" was a cover story—Wukong LITERALLY couldn't have picked anyone else. I never really bought the whole "Monkey King gave you his powers!" explanation, especially when one of the first things he says to MK in AHIB is "Listen kid: You fought demons, and you didn't die, and you made it here! Not just anyone can lift my staff, but you did." And even MK had a different thought, thinking his powers came from the staff until 3x03. How would Wukong have even "given" MK his powers, like logistically anyways. There was just a lot that didn't line up! And then s4 came along, and implied "Yeah MK was born from the stone, and Wukong was there" and I was like, oh yeah that makes total sense.
And I'm also a believer in the Samadhi Fire Mei, Jade Emperor Azure, and Monkey MK trifecta of having uncontrollable, world-ending power (which they must also act as a "container" for). And you know, had the person losing control of the Jade Emperor's powers in 4x14 been one of MK's close friends, he would have been able to save them, I have no doubt. He already did so with Mei in 3x10—Mei wasn't even supposed to be able to withstand the samadhi fire. But she did (Yellowtusk "But he is my brother! I owe him my life!" parallel for the win, "No! Mei is my best friend!", YOU GET ME?). And it's like, in 3x10 MK standing by his friend was a good thing but in 4x13 Yellowtusk standing by his friend was bad. In s3 the gang trying to get the Samadhi Fire was "good" (even though they didn't really use it to defeat LBD by the end lol), and Azure trying to get the Jade Emperor's power was "bad". You see how the lines are blurring here. At the start of Monkey Kid, it's all monster of the week and "we have to stop the bad guys!". Now by this point it's "[blank] isn't necessarily a bad guy..." and "Every choice has consequences for someone", even the "good" ones. Is anyone hearing me.
And then don't even get me STARTED on "I can't be! I'm just MK!" "The Monkie Kid?". Because, I'll have you know Subodhi names Wukong in Journey to the West. I just read that chapter. And then in 4x06 he labels, or names, MK as the "Monkie Kid". And this "reason" just FEELS like it's going to involve a great amount of power, something that is...uncontrollable, even. And this time, this time when MK looses control, Mei is going to be the one to get through to him, aka Samadhi Fire Part 3. Like

what would your ideal lmk season five look like? specifically for mk's character arc because I love your takes on that
I've said it before I want that boy centrifuged by the narrative
I didn't get the title of "MK death spiral blog" that one time by that one guy for nothing. I am 1000% on the "MK getting centrifuged by the narrative" pain train.
Now, in all honestly my ideal lmk s5 is the one they give me. These writers are so talented and they know more about their story than I do, so whatever they got planned is going to make me lose my mind!
But, indulging myself a little bit, here's a list of some things I'd love to see in s5 (or beyond???):
Sun Wukong V MK fight. Anyone who has followed me for any amount of time probably knows this. I need a SWK and MK fallout and then I need them to build their relationship up stronger.
MK Guilt Over Azure's death. That boy felt guilty for "releasing DBK from the underworld" when it was definitely Red Son who did that. MK arguably had a huge hand in Azure's death, being the one to cause Azure to finally lose his grasp on the Jade Emperor's powers.
Samadhi Fire Part 3. Anyone who has followed me for any amount of time also probably knows this. I want MK to be in the position of Samadhi Fire Mei and Jade Emperor Azure, unable to control his own powers, and needing to be talked down by Mei or someone else. We got one half of a 3x10 parallel in 4x08, and I need more!
Mei Dragon Form. Please for the love of god I want her to turn into a dragon so bad—nonnegotiably while she's protecting the people she cares about, for the sweet 4x05 callback. In my heart of hearts, I want Mei to unlock dragon form while trying to reach MK during Samadhi Fire Part 3. If we don't get another "We will figure this out together" what's the fucking point.
MK Subodhi Training??? Or honestly, MK interacting with real Subodhi in general. Did you see his face after the world reformed in 4x14? That was not a face of confidence.
Sandy Backstory. Which partially includes Pigsy. I just want to know what his 2x08 PTSD flashbacks were all about. *pulls out conspiracy board* I want to say those flashbacks take place at the 1x09 battlefield, which has helmets that we then see in 4x01, but who knows!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sun Wukong homeless arc. Flower Fruit Mountain was destroyed during the s4 special, and I want to see the consequences of that, especially if MK feels guilty about it! Which he probably will!
MK Spiral! This isn't as much of a prediction/want as it is just a fact. MK is going DOWN next season and I'm here with popcorn and tears. I need a FULL harbinger of chaos meltdown.
Macaque is just there, hanging out. After everything that happened last season I hope we see Macaque around a lot more, because I love him but also because I need MK to yell at him too. Also because "Whatever they're scheming we can handle it."
Yellowtusk helps Ne Zha maintain the seal. Yellowtusk had an important skill in helping Azure contain the Jade Emperor's powers—I'm wondering if he could do the same with Ne Zha's lotus seal.
MK Flashback. You know, how he got to Pigsy's, the circumstances of his birth, an explanation for what the fuck the stone monkey is/all those stone animals were, all that good stuff.
Bye Bye Bandana. If/when MK snaps and completely loses himself to whatever he is, I'd love for the headband to come off. Really cement it.
MK Relives His Nightmares Again. Oops. After going "So we never have to live our nightmares again!" in 4x12 I now need the opposite of that to happen. Sorry MK. I need his new "Better than we found it" resolve to fold like the soggy french fry it is. That ain't lasting.
Hurting The People You Care About Theme. So with "hurting the people who care about you the most" and everything being "to pain", I really want this to go a "hurting people is a part of life" route. We're already almost there with "Mistakes happen but as long as you leave the world better than you found it then it's all good." Like that's SO close. Come on s5 give it to me.
Wukong Killed Macaque Reveal. *twirls hair* This would sooooo not bode well for MK.
MK Gets Out of His "Good Guy" "Bad Guy" Way of Thinking. I think 4x11 as an episode really highlights this. MK views people as one or the other, ignoring the vast grey area that a lot of people fall in. Wukong in his past wasn't just "a bad guy", just like he isn't currently flawless or wholly "a good guy" now. He's just a guy.
I could probably go on forever, so I'll cut this off here!

If you could write your “ideal” season 5 for LMK, what would it look like? Like, what season 5 would be like if you were to write it (assuming you would also be trying to implement your theories and stuff into the mix, Feral MK/EAMK are two of my favorite theories from you!)
That's a really hard question! Mainly because like...I don't know the end game—I don't know what the writers are ultimately building towards. For example, I have pretty much 0 clue what our mysterious figure's plan is. I don't know why Wukong killed Macaque (and while I'd like for the show to go that direction, I'm still not 100% confident SWK did actually kill Macaque). And when it comes down to it, I have no clue who/what MK actually is.
Like I've said before, my ideal s5 is the one they give me!
But, I would of course love EAMK to become canon! I think it really fits with what we see in the show, and it just makes sense for MK's arc. Now that MK's identity has really come to the forefront, he's going to actually have to learn about himself/think about himself and then come to terms with it. We really didn't focus on MK's Monkey Demon identity too much in the s4 special, meaning s5 is gonna have a huge focus on it just like s4 did, and because of the way this has been structured I'm assuming it's going to get worse before it gets better. Which then hopefully leaves some room for feral MK and the reveal of the plan of our new antagonist!
However, I'll try to "plot out" a s5:
The season opens as a parallel to 4x01, MK & Mei are fighting a "monster of the week" type villain—except uh oh, the Jade Emperor's seal isn't holding (& also MK is not in totally control of his powers). Reality is starting to fray a little bit!
Luckily Yellowtusk has some experience with containing the Jade Emperor's Power, but now Ne Zha is gonna have to touch base with Wukong and the rest of the Gang
They are gonna have to find a "suitable host" so to speak. The first recommendation is one of the 10 Kings of the Underworld—one of those guys has both the power and control to be the new Jade Emperor
It's underworld time
Except, wait! One of them is a traitor! They released Azure and tried to tip the world into chaos. There can't be a new Jade Emperor until this is resolved
Who-done-it murder plot ensues
Something goes awry
MK and gang? They have now been re-trapped into a different section of the scroll of memory (like the infinite scroll room) (Macaque, SWK, and Ne Zha remain in the real world)
oh_no_the_curse_is_back.png (The curse spreading and consuming the world is now a relevant threat again)
Tang magic is able to keep most of the group together—MK is separated.
There is some Tang and group side plot and relevant development (do not feel like coming up with what this would be)
MK is plopped right into the memory of his birth. This relates to how the pilgrims died, and it's clear SWK knew MK's identity the whole time (the gang reunite with MK in the middle of this sequence) (EAMK is confirmed canon. Nice. It's still somewhat unclear what exactly MK is, but he is connected to the underworld/curse/memory)
MK is not holding it together AT ALL, but "Monkey King had a good reason" or whatever
On the outside SWK and the others have been trying to figure shit out. Subodhi arrives to help and can send SWK into the scroll
He finds MK and gang
They are yeeted into the memory of why Wukong killed Macaque
MK snaps. L + ratio + your beloved Mentor killed his ex-best friend + you just learned you are chaos incarnate + you killed the past lives of everyone you hold dear
SWK V MK fight of my dreams ensues
Sadly reality is fragile and MK is not helping this
"Oh god if we don't stop MK everything will end"
There was relevant Mei development in the scroll, it's dragon time baby (Macaque tried and failed to calm MK down rip)
Samadhi Fire Part 3 plays out. Mei get's her dragon form, MK is successfully talked down by his best friend
There are still uh, issues
hey wait remember why we were here, the jade emperor's power-
Oh god the traitor revealed themself.
MK is basically not breathing because he is trying not to fracture reality any further
We as the audience are given a hint of the master plan
The curse is involved along with the Jade Emperor's Power maybe. Something something Chaos. Peng is. Somewhere. MK is revealed to be a key pawn in this game
Reality is so close to becoming undone. Someone has to become the jade emperor NOW or they will all die
Wukong sacrifices himself TM
Jade Emperor Wukong is real, if only for a moment
He plans to use his body to restitch reality back together like Azure did
Everyone is not gonna let that happen (they r stronger together)
With their combined effort, they are able to collectively use the Jade Emperor's Power to fix the world (again)
This is when the traitor comes and swoops in, stealing the Jade Emperor's power somehow
Season ends on a probably pretty shitty note

I know you've told me like- 3 times already to make my own masterlist and I'm so sorry to annoy you
But..
I'm here to rant about Hua Jiao's birth(-ish..?)
Hua Jiao was born NOT via the traditional pregnancy way, no.
Hua Jiao was born via a 'lab' in the celestial realm.
Let me explain,
The way Hua Jiao was born was when a soul in the scroll was let out by Azure lion.
Once Azure lion, Peng, and Yellowtusk teleported away, the soul actually sneaked with them. This soul's name was Kholzen.
timeskip to episode episode 10, season 4; Kholzen made a deal with Azure and was usually a standby as Azure and the Jade Emporer fought, but Kholzen actually debuffed the Jade Emporer to help Azure defeat him. After Azure was the new Emporer, Kholzen told Azure the plan.
In the season 4 special, Kholzen discovered he also had the ability to control minds, even from different realms. Kholzen possessed Mei's mind and rendered her to not being able to speak, thus leading MK and the gang to go barge into the celestial realm. This ends badly as MK was ambushed by Kholzen. The gang (without MK) was forced to flee, leaving MK. Kholzen put the unconscious MK in a tube and convinced Azure to free Redson. Kholzen then proceeded to experiment on them until he finally got a life source out of mixing MK and Redson's powers. Kholzen made this life force into who we now know as Hua Jiao. Hua Jiao was used to receive pain and then concert the pain into power for Azure. "But how did Hua Jiao not escape? He's the son of the harbinger of chaos and demon bull prince!" Well, that, was due to the fact that Kholzen used Xci Nicco, his (former) successor, to hold Hua Jiao in place using Xci Nicco's magical chains.
Hua Jiao was already born in a 16-year-old boy's body and was born with some of Redson's intelligence, but at heart, Hua Jiao was still just about a newborn. The first thing Hua Jiao felt was pain.
A few months later, MK and Redson found a way to escape and did so, leaving Hua Jiao behind. MK felt bad but couldn't do anything.
Once they returned to the gang, they took about a month and a half to train.
Xci Nicco, during this time period, was also only around 4 months old in a 16-year-old body. Xci Nicco was starting to turn against their own mentor by this point.
When MK and the gang finally get confronted for taking so long for training, that's when all the stuff goes south for Kholzen. Without Kholzen's knowledge, Xci Nicco actually sneaks into the fight, leaving Hua Jiao in chains, still transferring his pain into power to supply Azure.
Xci Nicco actually unalived Kholzen via a stab in the back.
After the whole fighting thing and stuff, Nezha was about to put Hua Jiao and Xci Nicco into the scroll but MK and Redson convinced him not to.
With this, both Hua Jiao and Xci Nicco grew up with post-traumatic amnesia.
The whole 'Hua Jiao met Xci Nicco via motorcycle/motorbike problems' was actually their second time meeting, but they just didn't remember it.
Sorry if it's cloudy, I made this on like- a Sunday and I have to study so I'm very sorry if it looks rushed.. 'cause it is (。ŏ﹏ŏ)
Whoa
Thats an entire fanfic/au on its own really! I still wonder why you send it as asks it me instead of posting it yourself - dont be shy to do so!
Its a very interesting concept, I just fail to see what it has to do with my own aus \ :) /
