your lloyd playlist made me cry... like a lot. so if it's not too much trouble i'd actually really love to know the meaning behind each song, like what was the criteria? did you select based on lyrics or just the general vibe

cause honestly whatever you did, it made me feel a lot of stuff (but like, in a good way)

maybe it's bc anything related to this lil green ninja dude hits different but either way the playlist was a vibe and i found some really banger artists

after this i'm prolly gonna listen to the zane playlist, which might make me cry as well

hello!!!!! im So sorry if this response is late i Only just saw this ask cause im on desktop as opposed to my usual mobile? anyways omg this ask fr made my day!!!!!

uh so i think the best way to go about this is put the song and maybe a lyric or two as to why i chose it

i bet on losing dogs- so the thought process behind this was lloyd having abandonment issues especially due to garmadon, misako, pythor, harumi and how he must feel so dejected as so many of the people he trusted betrayed/abandoned him

high and dry - also about the abandonment issues

first love/late spring- these lyrics: 'and i was so young when i behaved twenty five, yet now I find i've grown into a tall child, and i don't wanna go home yet let me walk to the top of the big night sky' - lloyds loss of childhood due to having to become a ninja and be serious (and also the aging up)

kids- also to do with the above point

army dreamers- this ones about the 'what if' lloyd didnt have to become a ninja (*cough* child soldier) and how he would've had to drop any other aspirations he had, for his destiny

pale shelter- 'you dont give me love you give me pale shelter' - about his parents not being there for him

rat, and say it aint so And father - all about his daddy issues and his complicated relationship with garmadon

everybody wants to rule the world- this ones more generic and basically just about how he continually has to face all these power hungry villains, a bit existential

green eyes- mostly just added for the title but also the line 'i wish that your parents had been kinder to you, they made you hate what you were out of habit'

class of 2013- also the loss of childhood and how his destiny shaped his future 'mom, am i still young? can i dream for a few months more?' #pain

bohemian rhapsody- 'i don't want to die i sometimes wish I'd never been born at all' - lloyds feeling towards his destiny to fight his dad. and also 'i'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me, he's just a poor boy from a poor family spare him his life from this monstrosity'

blackboxwarrior- another lloyd being existential one

im just a kid- this ones about lloyd feeling like he has no one there for him during his time at darkleys.

boulevard of broken dreams- also links to the above point

boys will be bugs- lloyd deciding to be 'evil' live up to garmadon. 'i just turned 14 and i think this year im gonna be mean' oh and also the whole first verse

the power- this ones just a joke one based on his power lmao (all my playlists have a joke song)

female of the species- this ones for how he feels after harumi betrays him (and also links to how he was suspicious of princess vania because of it)

turn the lights off- i guess this is more to do with lloyds feelings towards his oni and dragon side. also i like how the line 'snakes and lovers turn the lights off' links to how pythor and harumi were major characters in his life that affected him and betrayed him
