i’m sorry, i generally like what you post, and i think calling out (or at the very least acknowledging) unfair treatment is important. but comparing hybe’s treatment of a solo contract with a major coffee franchise to jm’s DAD, a member’s fucking family member, is so unserious.

family members can do shady shit, they don’t automatically get a free pass, but i don’t know of any reason why that’d be an assumption ?? like of fucking course a franchise, which has a contract w/ a single member and only w/ set photos of that member and not ALL photos of the member, nor a contract w/ the group, can’t host shit that they don’t have the rights to. and it’d set such a poor fucking precedence if they were able to. like that would literally allow ANY fucking brand/company/corporation to start using that shit after signing w/ one member. and i don’t think tae is exactly contactable right now when it comes to looking at a contract or discussing w/ hybe & compose abt what alternative use of his images they are able to display.

(and in relation to that, i DO think that jm’s dad can have easy access to negotiating any contracts or licensing necessary to do whatever he does. esp bc he’s, once again, a member’s fucking father)

what do you think bsd is trying to say about war? do you have any other thoughts about political themes present in the story?

oh i have,,, thoughts,, for sure. also these are more loose threads that have been floating around in my head more than a concrete thesis so sorry if they dont make much sense as a whole

one thing i think is crucial to discussing bsd as a political story is to look at which countries' authors asagiri choses to include in the story.

obviously the main cast is japanese, but the other prominent characters come from usa and russia, and if you also take in characters from the light novels or ones, who have been foreshadowed to be important (like agatha), france and the uk come to mind. those are all states with imperialist past/present, and while there are none morally pure countries this specific selection is still pretty intense all things considered. many of the authors included in bsd were also involved politically one way or another (most had been active during the first half of the 20th century, and wrote about war one way or another)

the imperialism isnt really touched upon, unfortunately so, but ( and maybe this is just me being hopeful) i like to think its less about asagiri not seeing it and more about him not wanting to open another sensitive topic in an already complicated work of fiction.

ultimately i'd say bsd is anti-war. that's the most prevailing political theme, and one that has been slowly revealing itself and becoming more prominent the further we go into the story. worth noting is how elements that could've (and maybe should have) been shown as explicitly political avoided this framing in earlier parts of the story (fukuzawa's old profession, kunikida's ideals), but ig there's still time for that. the anti-war sentiment ties back to a lot of the works that the abilities are named after, esp in the agency. no longer human, thou shalt not die, the makioka sisters (tanizaki's light snow) are all prime examples (and kunikida's ability could technically be put under this too depending on how you look at it, since his war journalism is what made him a prominent literary figure). even if some of the authors had some questionable opinion's irl, the parts that asagiri choses to include always come back to the horrors of war.

decay of angels is another thing, given it's named after mishima's last novel, one that he left to his publisher on the same day he started a coup trying to restore the emperor of japan and commited seppuku. there was a theory i saw a while back that said bram wasnt actually a doa member, and the 5th person is yet to be revealed, and it'd be really interesting if we got mishima in bsd but he's still to this day a pretty polarizing figure (understandably so) and im not sure if asagiri would want to take that step, since it'd be a point of no return in terms of explicit politics in the story. and he's been pretty timid with that i mean look at the way he handles police brutality (cops in yokohama being portrayed as incompetent yet ultimately good people, jouno going from prime example of someone knowingly abusing their power to apparently caring abt the innocents, and this is obv a different, more complicated topic so uhh idk maybe ill talk abt it some other time adgsfgagd). idk it just seems like he's afraid to really push the ideas forwards, keeps them palatable to the general public although idk if this is a concious choice or not. im willing to give asagiri the benefit of the doubt bc of how he handles fukuchi though. people hate him bc??? idk he's not a twink and he killed someone ig but personally i adore him, goofy aah guy imo. it'd be easy to write him off as just an autoritarian crazy guy who wants to take control of the world for unspecified "greater good" but the arguments he makes are generally pretty compelling! and not just to readers, we see atsushi questioning the way world works and government's role after listening to fukuchi explain himself. its fukuchi's methods that are questionable not the ultimate goal of state abolition. and we still dont really know what his ultimate reason for doing all this is, just that he claims it's not revenge on fukuzawa, so im curious how this is going to get handled.

and the last thing is the brief anticapitalism theme in the guild arc but again, its like asagiri gave up on it before it became too prominent. fitzgerald is the ultimate capitalist and we see this esp in relation to steinbeck, whose dislikes list finansists in the enligh translation and capitalists in the polish one (no idea what is listed in japanese exactly). but fitzgerald is ultimately sort of redemed, with his (and poe's) wealth treated as a gag rather than a human rights violation

those are all the things that have been ping ponging around in my head and i hope this is in any way at least a little bit understandable. there are some things here that deserve a post of their own but id have to reread at least the last few arcs to talk about them in depth.

But also..??? WAIT NO BC IM THINKING 80 MILLION THINGS RN.

you're in the perfect position bc you remember what happened early on and can pick up on the crumbs i was dropping to make it alllll come full circle! what goes around comes around! not only are hongjoong's plans important to consider (ie when he implemented them, when he put them into action) but also both how san carried out his initial duty and when san started to slip away from that duty into something genuine! both those things will be explored and opened up in san's upcoming interim, that will help pull all the pieces together i hope so!! that scene with mc crying to san,,, i cried writing it and i know it made a lot of people doubt san and his feelings but!! please have hope!! there are SOOO many possibilities!! will hongjoong really leave san to lie in the grave he dug for himself or will he dig it deeper or try to help him out…? all remains to be seen :3

mingi is truly truly such a fun and fascinating character to both write and unveil to you guys ;-; he's exceptionally intelligent beyond the scope of understanding emotions period but he gets treated like he's dumber because he doesn't understand emotions bc in the others' eyes emotions are just simple and easy to understand. mingi def possesses a different kind of intelligence but that kind of intelligence is on the same level of yeosang iw ould say! so it's easiest to think of it as mingi has a different kind of smartness compared to someone like say,,,,jongho or san who both have very good and high emotional intelligence!

1) DOES the man have a conscience? this interim is very telling in that regard and his thought process and the what some would call "intrusive thoughts" really showcase who he is as a person!

2) there are so many layers to him and you really get it bc he does keep everyone at arms length, even seonghwa to some degree bc the whole reason him and seonghwa aren't together is bc hongjoong shut him down the moment seonghwa started expressing his feelings towards hongjoong, he likes to keep to himself and doesn't like to leave his space for many reasons but we now know that one of those reasons is the past feelings of failure and loss coming back to haunt him, and bingo right on the money, he changes the way he wants to come across to people. prime example in yunho at the end of the interim, i think that scene is the absolute best showcase of hongjoong's character and who he is and how he operates.

3) he is DAMN CRAZY!!! i feel like i haven't so much shown that to the degrees that his character really is batshit insane so we're tiptoeing into those waters more now. you do have to think though, with the notion that he changes the way he wants to come across to people, when he's being "called out", is it accurate? or is it what hongjoong is presenting so they think they know what kind of person he is? when mc calls him out on his shit, it's often a two way punch where it as much about her as it is about him so much to think about! he's far far beyond a control freak tehe :3

the fun paradox in mc is that dynamic of wanting to be approved and accepted by him but also having this point blank issue with authority and also how hongjoong excises his authority. and that's been a big point of confusion too i think so im trying to delve more into it and expose more of it so that it makes more sense but there is meant to be a contradiction in her actions for sure

yeosang has been the only one to beat hj at chess, and he is not the lieutenant. we know that hongjoong personally selected seonghwa before yeosang joined the crew and that the position has never swayed, and we also know that yeosang is the master strategist on the crew, which is something a lieutenant would usually take care of so it lends to some questions about how hongjoong views authority in his crew? as far as the chess game goes, his queen was indeed seonghwa, the main bishop he used to both attack and sabotage his own pieces was san, he himself was king, then though not as heavily touched on, the other pieces i had in mind were: mingi and jongho were both knights, yeosang was the other bishop, then mc, wooyoung, and yunho were pawns. who minho was really referring to ;) is quite the twist but a fun one :3

First of all spiders are so hated for no reason they r so cute in adorable as long as theu are not in my bedroom. If they are i may start sobbing and screaming. I luv furry spiders bc they have paws n act like cats.

Centipedes r my problematic favs bc even though they bite n sting and are long with lots of legs they r so SILLY! Ufh i. LOVE centipedes.

Bees are actually so cool yk they turn yellow from pollen (i think?)

Idk there is this lady with rhe number one best garden in my town and her garden is in the front yard so sometimes i go up to the millions of bees and pet them. Maybe give them a flower or two i found. I realized that a lot of the smaller/younger bees are more white than yellow.

Carpet beetles suck i hope they all go away (i had them not too long ago…)

Tiny bugs such as ants and those little red bugs i saw r so funnt bc they r so small in a huge world wnd they r just going on a little adventure…. I saw a ant while waiting for the bus once and it was carrying a leaf too big for its body and was falling behind its group. I picked it up and put it next to the other ants but the leaf was so big and silly!

There was also this weird red bee looking thing that came out of a hole in the ground at my old apartment complex. Me n my friends didn’t know what it was but it was like medium to large sized. One stepped on it (🙁) and it was green inside so we ran away like “EWWW”

Like not even two min later we go back to the same hole and the bee and any evidence of its existence went away?! Ik it was the correct spot bc it had the same rocks n tuffs of grass. We started to say that the tree it was next to was haunted n i got so scared bc that tree was in front of my apartment.

Also horn worms r my fav caterpillar. They r so squishy n soft n they r so cute idc if they kill ur tomato plants or smth! My brother gets them for his lizards and i love them i taught one how to play resident evil 2

Crickets are pathetic and can’t even get off their backs but its okay they r cute ❤️❤️

Hey, sorry, just adding on to the pile of stories from the Balkans. I also grew up with family groping me and being uncomfortable with it, but never being allowed to say anything against it. My mother and father often made sexual comments about me, or when I went through puberty they would occasionally grab at my breasts and butt and comment on them. It's mostly stopped now, thankfully. It always felt so invasive and in general I hated how much focus there was on if I was growing up beautiful or not. My grandparents often did so as well. Whenever I would try to make any of them stop, show discomfort, or have a negative reaction I would get treated as if there was something wrong with me and I was being rude. Looking back I can't believe just how much we have made this sort of behavior normal. Ugh. Family members should not be calling children sexy under any circumstances. There is no possible reason for there to be discussion around a kids genitals. This should not be normal and so many of us shouldn't have stories like this. I'm glad to hear other's speak of it but it has made me so disgusted. We really are taught to ignore any bounderies

i was thinking abt this last night actually. when i was around seven or eight i would spend a lot of time with my cousin at my uncles house. he was some years older than me, by five i think. we used to get along well because i was a tomboy and he didn't make fun of me for it, he liked it. but i remember this one time he started showing me sexual games on the computer they had, some game in which you would give virtual money to a woman to see more of her naked, and it just made me feel so gross. i never looked at him the same, i felt he thought women were just pieces of meat. other times i remember laying in bed with him and he would want me to show him what's under my clothes, though he never took it further than that i don't think. he would occasionally grope at me but basically everyone did that anyway. i remember being upset with him, and him taking me to the candy shop down the street to make up for it

i always wondered if he had been abused first because i found out later his dad had molested another family member of mine. but looking back maybe it was the things he saw on the internet or from other boys. anyway, i tried to tell my mother and grandmother about it but they never took it seriously. never even scolded him. "boys will be boys" mentality and i was told i was being dramatic and shouldn't take it to heart because it's normal for boys to do things like that sometimes. it was normal to be felt up by family in general i guess bc. idk this culture is a fucking nightmare sometimes. now when i see him we just pretend it never happened i guess. it really is fucked up how much this sort of behavior is normalized, excused, and frankly defended at the expense of the saftey and comfort of kids... like what lesson does this teach other than, its ok to let people do whatever they may please with you, regardless of how much you dont like it? it must be some form of grooming i swear to god

saw dc in nyc last night 🥺 the venue was honestly horrible and you couldn’t see the stage like, at all. and i think the energy was rly low bc of that. and even ppl in the vip area were leaving bc it was so hot up on the risers. dc had to stop like 3 times bc ppl were getting too hot and they tried to pass water out but they had to ask for the water several times and then passed it to the audience and ppl in the audience would not pass the water to the ppl that even needed it.... also i wish they hadn’t allowed the lightstick bc ppl using the cane portion made it even more impossible for the ppl behind them to see lmfao and a lot of ppl just ended up going into the lobby to watch from smaller screens bc you couldn’t see anything anyway.

i’ve only been to a few other kpop concerts and i’m thinking this has a lot to do with the size of the company, but usually when other groups perform their b-sides, they’ll make a choreo for those b-sides or do special performances and i do wish that dc had done the same bc there was a lot of the members just kind of standing around and nodding their heads. jiu was the only one that pretty much danced the entire time and i was honestly rly in awe of her body bc she is even more fluid irl and honestly just... incredibly amazing and sexy... and her voice is so beautiful live. like i literally just started crying when i heard her, the recordings really really really don’t do her voice justice

i didn’t rly get to see the members irl a lot bc i couldn’t see the stage well but there were times that i got to see a member briefly lmfao.... and i was really struck by how pretty dami is irl. like she genuinely looks like a princess. she just had this regality abt her and i rly appreciated that she put an emphasis on ppl not pushing / that she wanted everyone to be safe. yoohyeon is the only member that i never got to see on the stage at all (but i was right in front of a smaller screen) but her english was amazing, she didn’t need the translator at all (which was nice bc the translator was not great. at first we didn’t think they even had one bc they didn’t translate like half of the first ment and only translated at certain points and if two members were talking back and forth, yeah they didn’t even try lol) a lot went missing there. anyway yoohyeon said like a ton of really sweet things to us and she was taking pride flags from the audience, it was really really sweet. all of the members were really fun and kind and wonderful and their live vocals were a blessing to my ears 🥰🥺

all in all, it was the most lackluster of the kpop concerts i’ve gone to but i still had a ton of fun and it wasn’t the fault of the dc members that it was like that. i hope they can do better and bigger venues in the future and it would be cool if they could make and perform their own chores for b-sides just bc they didn’t perform any of their earlier titles / earlier b-sides with choreo anyway. i think it would help them fill the stage more. actually i think it would be nice if their company could invest in having a touring live band with them bc they always seem to have way more energy when they do. the members themselves were great and filled with personality and so so so kind. jiu i love you so much 🥺💓🥺💓🥺💓 getting to see her and hear her live was the best bday present ever i will never forget how gorgeous her dance line and voice is live and how cute she was

👯‍♀️ rant about a favorite [txt] friendship: i talked abt tyunning here, i'll talk abt taegyu this time since those are our boys hehe. to me beomgyu and taehyun make like no sense at first for members who would get along bc they're really different like ... not in interests but i think in how they see the world & communicate and stuff. but that's what makes them one of my fave duos, because you KNOW they've worked hard to understand each other, and i think they can each appreciate having each other's input because it's probably something they wouldn't have thought of themselves! i love to see them team up in to-do and i think they have a lot of respect for each other creatively. taehyun is really patient with beomgyu and i've always felt like beomgyu takes care of taehyun well. they're sweet but also fun to watch together!

We learn in the epilogue of the Dark Tournament that one can wish for one person to come back to life. In Genkai's time, the Toguro brothers wished to become demons, and Genkaiwishes to never be invited to or involved with the Tournament ever again.

There were two other members on their team. I wonder what they wished for?

Before the finals of that tournament, what had been their plan? Just revenge? Genkai describes Toguro being traumatised by the deaths of the disciples and wanting revenge, but surely if they were informed that the prize was a wish that could be anything,

Then could they not have thought to wish their disciples back to life?

Genkai's monologue makes it seem like Toguro stepped onto the victory podium and immediately wished to become a demon, but what if the team had time to talk among themselves who to ressurect? There's good potential for tension if they've been misinformed about it too, that one can wish people back to life, but not that one can wish one person back at a time.

Oh, and another (point of tension) could be that they didn't know about the wishing-someone-back-to-life-thing and only learned about it by word of mouth when once on the island. That's also pretty good!

Suddenly carefully-hopeful and trying-to-remain-realistic conversations crumble in the face of panic. What become the criteria for who to ressurect? Were they worried earlier about needing to resurrect people in a specific order, in case they're resurrected but not healed? Will they die within minutes of being returned to life? Should they resurrect the healers first? Are they returned in perfect health, what if they become confused and hurt themselves? Were there specialists among the disciples? The corpses aren't on Hanging Neck Island either, they're presumably already burned or buried by now. If a wish has an error, will it not compute at all and does that use it up?

Maybe there's a timer for making a wish? Nothing in canon is mentioned that someone delays to make their wish, but this too could be a good point of dramatic tension of one of the members on the team realising there isn't a time limit. What does it change? Do people outside of their team become antsy when one of them hasn't made their wish yet?

(Was one or both of them later targeted by Rando, one of the more obvious victims of the Spirit Office's brainwashing programme?)

Did Toguro think of this at first? Did he investigate the most, and was he perhaps devastated the more he learned? Could that have added to his sense of helplessness? (augh, self-proclaimed Toguro hater and yet...?) Did he start to think that talking at this point, verbalising any of it, wouldn't matter? Was that another thing he wanted to "teach" Yusuke?

Somehow I have this image of my mind of Genkai being homeless for 40+ years after the Dark Tournament bc she's depressed about the deaths of her disciples (bc they were hers too! She ran that school with the Toguros!) and that her friend* became a worse person for it. Like, she feels she failed somehow and she develops an anxiety about allowing herself the basic comforts of a house and a full stomach and a proper bath.

* the elder Toguro being a friend of Genkai's...? Initially I was having visions that he's my-friend's-older-brother kind of relationship, but imagine if they were actually friends and in spite of (or maybe because of) that, elder Toguro is so disrespectfully gleeful abt her death. Help Im having visions of them having lunch together and roasting people they're people-watching

'SCARLEY RAMBLES' TIME

this episode - her shitty crush life?? love life?? of 2020 as a 15 year old (oh, and she can sing??)

first of all, i remember being sick and therefore stuck in my room to avoid getting the other members of my family sick too, and so miss girl was stuck in her bed for a good few days and one day i had finished the latest (at the time) chapter of the second book of rewrite the stars (hehe, love you forever and always em @emso12 <3) whilst, naturally, listening to the playlist i had made for the first and orginal book.. being stuck and bored, miss girl decided to sing and record a few songs from the playlist, as well as give them povs.. now you may be wondering..

see, now this guy, i had just met bc it was the first time we had a class together.. and it was pe of all classes.. so it's australian year 9, i'm 14.. and this guy is like early 06' whilst i'm late 05'.. we become friends like early february and i'm already enamoured.. AND I'M FUCKING OUTED.. now you'd think that at this point, bc i'm outed, we aren't on talking terms anymore.. no this guy says smth along the lines of "i treasure you as a friend, but for now i'm not looking to date rn".. so we're all good, his birthday comes, i get him.. well tbh.. for a year 9 student, i got him pistachios (as his favourite snack), this cool ass cap and a homemade card, drawings, message and all.. he tells me abt all his soccer games, we're just almost always texting..

IT GETS SEXUAL FROM THIS POINT (ok warning has been given)

and, it's from here where.. the pictures aren't so.. non-sexual.. he was always so sweet abt it bc if i couldn't send anything, unlike most guys, he neverade a big deal abt it.. if i said no, it was a no and we went on with our day.. we did photos, videos, scenario texts, planning what we'd do if we could.. on boxing day, he and our mutual friend, my best friend (at the time) had even spent a few hours with myself and my nephew in our pool.. the sexual tension was crazy but nothing..

then from here, well.. your girls mental health goes downhill, with the upcoming school year of year 10, this guy who's in this thing, doing shit with other girls, i was.. i had to think abt what would be best for me.. and i.. i wanted opinions as to which of the two choices would be best.. those choices being: i end what we had and focus on my mental health OR i continue what we had bc at this point, i just knew i was in love with this guy (11 months is a long time) but my mental health would not improve..

remember that best friend that came over on boxing day and how he was a mutual friend?? i thought "he's my best friend AND his friend, maybe he'll know what's best".. so i told him.. and.. uh he said "shut the fuck up, i can't believe you'd go behind my back and do this, you both are unbelievable, this is why i have trust issues" and bearing in mind, this was the same guy that had said 2 weeks prior to this that i had two holes to fuck both joseph and this other friend of theirs.. bc they knew i liked joseph and there was some thing with this other guy that i don't know too much abt..

anyway.. so he goes off at me, then not only him, not only joseph but that whole group blocks me and.. it's like.. it really was like my whole world had gone black.. then somewhat started a rumour abt me or said i started a runour abt them and it all went to shits.. i felt awful and THEN i find out from a good friend.. that he had been talking.. like t a l k i n g to another girl (who i knew and bless her) and i just felt used.. bc whilst this guy and i were planning in fucking losing our virginities, he was talking to a girl i knew (we literally bonded over this bc neither of us knew abt the other, and she could not emphasise more on the fact that she did not know abt me and the thing i had with him)..

(tw: self harm, dried blood)

i was.. it wasn't the best time for me.. i had lost at this point, 3 months of being clean before i just couldn't stop myself.. and then he unblocked me, followed me and then texted me saying that he wanted to meet up the next day at school to properly apologise.. i agreed bc i knew i deserved it.. and i did get the apology i deserved (and the girl absolutelyhackled him, making sure he did give me the apology i deserved).. i was silent most of this talk, moreso.. mindlessly staring and trying not to pick at the dried blood whilst also trying to formulate what to say.. he ended up staying with me the whole break, not just walking off after saying sorry, and he did walk me to my class and after this talk i was so sure that we were okay.. i was ready to mend my mental health and my heart to continue to pour to him..

and then he blocked me a month later.. and, we've had minor conversations but it hasn't been the same since.. before him, i loved one other person but i was like 13 (it's just.. when yk, yk) so going thru this really was my first, and hardest heartbreak

So about today news of the global casting (💀) I have to say I'm not surprised ☁️ want to expand with more peoples and more projects with the company in the futur because when they announced the movie for mileapo it was clear to me it wasn't because they especially wanted a new project with them but because with the movie they'll have now a serie and a movie in their historic to show. Good for apo and mile bc that will benefit them obviously, especially Apo. I think from the the poster and trailer it's obvious he is the center of the movie. We will follow the story of apo's character and mile's character will obviously be part of that story but not his story y'know what I mean? Anyway not the point of my msg. Forget about everything the company lack of but the global casting call is so ridiculous.. why not do normal casting when you have a pitch for a new serie so that you know what talent you're looking for. That look more like a casting call for a band than anything else. They should stay a little company that learn to manage their artists instead of going big like that. I already heard a month ago of 2 actors who are rumored to joined ☁️ and I guess after today it may really come true. Not gonna lie I'm already tired of all the drama more peoples will bring to already a lot of crap. bible👷‍♂️ fans should prepare to the disbandment of the pair because they checked the bl serie and movie so next they are obviously gonna go not bl route, but I can see them pairing the female lead not with a new talent but with the man who obviously gonna make them tune in for the view and sucess of the show. Not gonna lie I don't see them choosing mile unless it's an obvious adult serie because mile is a grown up man and it show he can't pretend to be 25 years old, this is what I mean. In the words of Mean Girls, stop trying to make fetch happen. Here's the thing, anon, and I've mentioned this vaguely on my Twitter. First things first, being attractive doesn't make a star. Charisma and personality matters too. I'm not throwing shade at anyone's fave when I say this and I hope some people don't take this the wrong way - but if your fave can't mingle and schmooze with regular people, important people, anyone, then they're going to fail. In this industry, you have to know how to talk to people. Being attractive will get you in the door but it won't get you the job. You have to be able to wow the right people. The people with Farger tapped Mile and Apo for their company well before the series even aired. That's what I mean when I say you still have to have a personality. They hadn't even seen the show yet, but the company wanted these two.

Being introverted is a thing, and I'm not knocking anyone for being introverted because you can't change that about yourself. However, that doesn't mean you can't learn how to talk to people. Being socially awkward doesn't really help you in the long run, because these companies and brands are looking for very specific things when it comes to who they're hiring to be the face of their brand. They're looking for attractive people, but they're also looking for charismatic people who can make consumers feel safe and comfortable. They're looking for people who are relatable and people who can actually talk to potential customers. If you're just standing there like this🧍‍♂️the whole time and you're not interacting with people, who's going to hire you? Who's going to look at you and say 'yeah, let's rehire the guy who could barely hold his own at this event?' If you're latching onto someone else because you're so incredibly socially awkward and shy that you're struggling to figure out what to do, you're not going to be successful in the long term.

So while I understand what you mean when you say that Pond & Co. may start steering the company towards an actor that 'looks younger,' it won't matter if said actor is standing in the corner with the deer in headlights look because they don't know how to mingle and talk to people. With the way things stand right now, you're going to find a lot of attractive people with little to no personalities and that's not good. I don't know much about Jeff honestly. I haven't really paid attention to anything he's done outside of this show, so I'll take your word for it. But I have seen ... other actors in this cast who have struggled at fan events. I mean, legit struggled and you could see him drowning. He could not hold his own at this particular event and it was actually painful to watch.

So, unless these new actors are able to completely blow us away with award winning acting, I need to see how they are outside of that. We need actors who can act, but we also need actors who can impress brands because that's where the money comes from. Especially when it comes to a company like BOC that's still incredibly new and hasn't proven they can turn a profit yet. They need all the brands and endorsements they can stand, because those brands are the ones sponsoring this world tour. They need to be able to impress both the brands and the fans. If they can't do either one, then how you can expect them to lead a series all on their own? The marketing and promotion alone would kill them, metaphorically of course.

Also, and here's where we're definitely going to disagree, anon - if they are moving away from BL-like dramas, then there's no need to hire 'younger looking' actors. You only need actors who 'look young' if you're still trying to tap into the BL drama industry because that's the whole shtick of BL dramas. But if you're continuing to move away from that kind of thing and are moving into a mature direction when it comes to dramas, then seeking out an actor that looks young won't really fit. Barcode is a kid and looks like a kid. He wasn't a good fit for this type of show; he would do well in a stereotypical BL drama, but this show was too mature for someone who looks that young. So not looking like a prepubescent boy works in your favor if you're trying to land roles in mature dramas.

TL; DR - being attractive and 'looking young' isn't enough to lead a series. When these actors are expected to do a promotional run for this potential new series, they still have to be able to appear likeable in interviews. Certain actors in this cast would not be able to handle leading a promotional run for a potential new series unless they're paired with another actor who is charismatic enough to pick up the slack. Otherwise, it's going to turn people off and no one's going to want to tune into the show. People tune in and watch these shows because of the actors. They tune in because they feel a kinship with the actors. If they don't feel that, they're not going to waste their time. The show's subject content could be hot garbage, but the audience will still tune in in spite of that because they enjoy the actors. Despite what BOC is trying to do, it's not working. We've seen that today with the lack of attention and interest in the events for the other cast members. BOC is horrible at betting on the right horse, and it usually blows up in their face. Every single time.

i wanted some sort of a safe space all to myself, my personal discord server’s getting a little too clogged for my liking so i’m gonna shift to tumblr! the past few days have been really shitty, there’s nothing new with that but it’s been exceptionally shitty. i don’t even have the energy to get up because everything’s going downhill. i’m constantly losing friends for reasons i can’t control, my college plans are falling apart, i have a shitty job. and i feel so bad for complaining because my concerns don’t even sound that bad compared to other people. am i just being whiny again? i hate manipulative people the most, especially those who are utterly convinced that they’re not doing anything wrong but if you read deeper into what they’re actually doing, you’ll be disgusted. making people feel like shit for not forgiving you isn’t based, i have the right to not forgive you especially when you’ve done that to me multiple times and i’ve forgiven you for all of them. don’t expect any sort of “don’t worry” message from me because i’ll never be able to lie about something like that, especially when i know you’ll do it again in the guise of your “jokes”. you’ve always blamed other people for the things that happened to you, have you tried thinking that the problem lies with you? enough about that, i guess i’m not that mad anymore- but that doesn’t mean i’ll still forgive that person. anyway, i found one of my past fling’s (is that the right word? ex doesn’t fit him lol) profile yesterday! it was funny, he’s so lame now that i think about it and he wasn’t even cute? he was just smart. i’ll call him N for now! N was the one i dated before G and oh my god this guy scarred me for life. i was in 8th grade when we started flirting, we met through an online book club and he was some sort of chuunibyou, he acted like he was some sort of mysterious anime character who was cold and smart. i can’t believe i liked him oh my god i’m cackling but he traumatized me so bad. he made me feel like i was crazy for getting jealous over him flirting with other members, he would constantly tell me to “sleep it off” and i was crazy. he would tell me he loves me whenever i “get into one of those moods”. i would tell him stuff like “if you don’t like me anymore, let me down gently” bc i was cringe as fuck back then lmao but yeah he was flirting with other girls and i had no choice but to see everything bc no one knew we were in some sort of a dating stage. he would tell me about his crushes in school as if teasing me, and i would always get mad over that. i guess what they said about giving an ugly guy a chance was true. now that i think about it, maybe that’s why i never told g that i was jealous over stuff, because N has always invalidated my feelings and he made me feel like i was crazy for getting jealous. i hope N’s in a better place right now though, and i hooope he thinks about all the girls who gave him a chance but he found being a cold anime character more appealing lmao i don’t think anyone sane would date him. he’s one of the reasons why i don’t think i will date anyone without thinking that i’m crazy ever again. i hope he gets punched DEAR GOD that’s everything for now! i’ll leave song recommendations since no one’s going to read this anyway. this song’s been stuck on my brain for the past few days. mmm just realized that adding this song makes it seem like i miss N since i talked abt him here and i don’t miss thinking i’m crazy lmao
