The way you made me rewatch yuri on ice with your figure skating shadowheart,,
All jokes aside, I love the way you draw her!! She's so elegant!!! What music do u think she'd skate to?
Pulling up a chair bc I Have Several: (all of these could be single or pair!!)
House of Woodcock by Jonny Greenwood (think Kim Yuna's routine to it)
Ballade No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 23 by Chopin (Yuzuru Hanyu has a routine to it)
Rondo Capriccioso in A Minor by Camille Saint-Saens (check out Rudy Galindo!!!)
Danzón No. 2 (check out the conductor Alondra de la Parra)
Leibesleid (Love's Sorrow) by Fritz Kreisler, Rachmaninoff
I think there would always be something dark underneath the songs she chooses, be it a comfortable and mellow one OR something forboding and heavy

THIS IS MORE OF AN AU THEN A HC BUT
Carmilla, or atleast carmilla-actor, is canonically disabled right? Correct me if im wrong but this is important for this
Imagine carmilla picked up the toy soldier 3rd (after nastya and jonny), so it could help her with basic things like getting around and other things, because jonny has far too much adhd in his short body to help, and nastyas.,.,.somewhere?
jonny nor nastya never see it around, and it only appears after she leaves,
ts never speaks a word of her and the others think they basically never met
ts still helps out when the others mechanisms act up, example: tims eyes fritz out and ts befomes glorified guide dog
Maki is disabled, yeah! And I really love this fjksjfdk, even if it doesn't exactly fit canon 💛💛

HARTFORD WOLF PACK DROP SHOOTOUT TO SPRINGFIELD THUNDERBIRDS
Tumblr media
By: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - Despite Louie Domingue's repeating his season-high 42 saves, the Hartford Wolf Pack lost 1-0 to the Springfield Thunderbirds on Quinnipiac grad Matt Peca's glove-high game-winner. Dylan Garand posted a scoreless 65 minutes against Hershey, making the Pack 2-7 in shutouts this season. The lone Pack shootout goal was by a defenseman, newcomer Adam Clendening wearing jersey #5. In overtime, the Pack displayed a strong PK after Matt Robertson was penalized on a Will Bitten clean breakaway. The Pack had three blocks, and broke-up two plays, and Domingue, was solid on the delayed penalty situation on Robertson, while making a beautiful right pad save on Hugh McGing. He had three strong late OT saves on a stick save on Adam Gaudette, Matt Kessel, and Martin Frk to keep it scoreless. The Pack got a solid bid to win early in OT by Will Cullye. In the third period, Domingue was strong, made early saves on Gaudette, leading scorer Matt Highmore, who was just sent down by the St. Louis Blues, and Mathias Laferriere. McGing and Kessel tested Domingue. Steve Santini had a quality shot with Mikhail Abramov in front waiting for the rebound. Zac Jones followed with a good stick stop on Santini on his next shift. The Pack’s Bobby Trivigno, Ryan Carpenter, and then Libor Hájek tested Springfield goalie Joel Hofer in the last five minute overtime. In the final minute, with 45.7 seconds left, Hofer stopped Abramov. Cullye had a good chance as time expired in regulation. The second period saw Springfield mount some sustained offensive zone pressure. First, Carpenter had two shots five seconds apart in the first three minutes. He was left muttering to himself and six minutes in Cullye tested Hofer. Springfield Frk, Mitchell Hoelscher, and Peca were in on Domingue. Matt Rempe was in front and was pushed away by Griffin Luce (Salisbury School). Dmitri Samurukov had a quality shot at Domingue. Karl Henriksson, made a smart defensive covering the left point as Carpenter had two shorts five seconds apart in the first three minutes, left muttering to himself. Karl Henriksson made a quality defensive play at the left point, preventing any Springfield breakout and keeping the puck in as Hájek pinched in. The first period felt like a training camp period with the Wolf Pack, as they have had seven players traded over the last 72-hours all finding new addresses. Finding chemistry was going to be tough. Not changing was captain Jonny Brodzinski. At 3:40, the Pack had the first quality shot on goal in a scoreless first period. Matt Robertson from the left point. Hofer stopped Rempe on the Springfield doorstep. At 10:03 the Pack tested Hofer with their tenth shot on goal. Both teams had a powerplay chance, and neither registered a shot on goal. Domingue made a save at 12:57 and at 14:23. Newcomer Jake Leschyshyn had a chance with 1:50 to go in the period. Riding a four-game winning streak, and enduring having their lineup changed during the week. the Wolf Pack were ready for an all-important three-games-in-three-days weekend. The first two games are on the road. On Friday, they head twenty minutes up the road back to Springfield and then an hour South to Bridgeport to meet the Islanders on Saturday. Then, they have a Sunday mid-afternoon clash with the Charlotte Checkers at 3 pm at the XL Center. LINES: Cullye-Brodzinski-Pajuniemi Gettinger-Elson-Carpenter Trivigno- Fritz-Jake Leschyshyn DiGiacinto-Henriksson- Rempe Jones-Hájek Emberson-Robertson Scanlin-Adam Clendening Garand SCRATCHES: Joe Lockwood (healthy) Cooper Zech (healthy) Wyatt Kalynuk (unavailable in transit) Anton Blidh (unavailable in transit) Ben Tardif (healthy) Patrick Khordorenko (season-ending shoulder surgery) C.J. Smith (hip area surgery done for the season) NOTES: Bridgeport's top goal scorers Simon Holmstrom and Otto Koivula were recalled by the big Islanders. They returned Arnaud Durandeau, a notorious Pack killer for the past three years. Winger Collin Adams was recalled from Worcester (ECHL). Calgary Wranglers (AHL) recalled ex-Pack defenseman Tyson Helgesen and ex-Sound Tiger Calder Brooks from Rapid City (ECHL). Goalie Jon Gillies (Salisbury School) goes from Tucson to Cleveland. Hamden’s Jonathan Quick was traded twice this week, first from LA to Columbus, and then Blue Jackets moved him the next day to the Vegas Goldne Knights. Quick (AOF), who won two Stanley Cups with Los Angeles has struggled this year. He was pulled in New York despite two of the three goals not being his fault, and his visible annoyance was shown by the 37-year-old exiting on TV. He flew back with the team at the end of a road trip to LA and then was told he was traded to Columbus. Nick Bonino (Farmington/AOF) was traded from the San Jose Sharks to Pittsburgh. Vladislav Namestnikov, the son of ex-Pack Evegeni “John” Namesnikov, now a Maple Leaf scout was traded from San Jose to Winnipeg. Ex-Pack Sammy Blais who was just traded to St. Louis. He signed a contract extension. Ex-Pack goalie J.F. Berube was recalled then sent back to Charlotte by Florida. Adam Erne, (North Branford) was called up from Grand Rapids by Detroit. Pete DiLiberatore (QU) was recently sent to Savannah (ECHL) by Henderson and was dealt by Vegas to Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Fellow former Bobcat Chase Priskie goes from Rochester to San Diego. Kevin O’Neil (UCONN/Yale) was cut loose by Colorado Eagles (AHL) released from his PTO, and heads back to South Carolina (ECHL). The team also had ex-Pack goalie Keith Kinkaid, who just traded and recalled by the Avalanche. Luke Evangelista was recalled from Milwaukee by parent Nashville. Ex-CT Whale Mike Pelech of the Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL) is officially now the second all-time leader in assists in ECHL history, recording three on the road in Savannah, GA, Thursday night. Former UCONN forward Jordan Timmons was dealt from the Reading Royals (ECHL) to the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL). HARTFORD WOLF PACK HOME Read the full article

The Villa | Rachel Hawkins | Published 2023 | *SPOILERS*
Tumblr media
As kids, Emily and Chess were inseparable. But by their 30s, their bond has been strained by the demands of their adult lives. So when Chess suggests a girls trip to Italy, Emily jumps at the chance to reconnect with her best friend.
Villa Aestas in Orvieto is a high-end holiday home now, but in 1974, it was known as Villa Rosato, and rented for the summer by a notorious rockstar, Noel Gordon. In an attempt to reignite his creative spark, Noel invites up-and-coming musician, Pierce Sheldon, to join him, as well as Pierce's girlfriend, Mari and her stepsister, Lara. But he also sets in motion a chain of events that leads to Mari writing one of the greatest horror novels of all time, Lara composes a platinum album - and ends in Pierce's brutal murder.
As Emily digs into the villa's complicated history, she begins to think there might be more to the story of that fateful summer in 1974. That perhaps Pierce's murder wasn't just a tale of sex, drugs and rock and roll gone wrong, but that something more sinister might have occurred - and that there might be clues hidden in the now-iconic works that Mari and Lara left behind.
Yet the closer that Emily gets to the truth, the more tension she feels developing between her and Chess. As secrets from the past come to light, equally dangerous betrayals from the present also emerge - and it begins to look like the villa will claim another victim before the summer ends.
Emily is going through a rough transition period in her life. With a divorce from her husband, Matt, on the horizon, a mysterious illness nearly killing her without explanation and her some-what popular cozy mystery series, Petal Bloom, on the outs, she isn't sure how to move forward.
But when Chess, her best friends since girlhood, suggests that the two of them spend 6 weeks of their summer in Orvieto, an Italian village balancing on the rocks of Umbria, Emily jumps at the chance. A getaway could be exactly what she needs in order to begin writing her 10th Petal book, Emily agrees.
Emily arrives after Chess has, and the two of them begin their getaway with lots of wine and limoncello. While Chess seems to be getting through her writing with a fierce intensity, Emily is still struggling to get through her Petal Bloom book.
Instead, her interest is going somewhere entirely new to her. In 1973, a group of five individuals stayed in the very villa that she and Chess are now occupying, and it ended in the murder of one on-the-rise musician and the conviction of another. Rockstar Noel Gordon invited his lover, Lara Larchmont, along with her stepsister, Mari and her boyfriend, Pierce, to stay with him for that summer. Lara is eager to take him up on the offer, as is Mari, who believes that this is going to give Pierce the opportunity to get music written and flung, arms wide open, into the industry.
However, this isn't what happens at all. Their entire 6 week stay is fueled by drugs and alcohol, and even at one point, a threesome between Mari, Noel and Pierce. As was in the 70s, Pierce wanted an open relationship with his girlfriend, for which she agreed. She knew he wasn't a faithful man, but was always adamant that it never bothered her. But, her mental health was on the fritz after the death of her 9-month-old son, Billy, to a lung infection and she hasn't been quite the same since.
In addition to Noel, he has brought along his drug-dealer Johnnie, who takes quite a liking to Mari. He gives her sympathy on Billy's birthday that Pierce couldn't, and eventually, comes to know that despite promising not to do so again, Pierce and Lara ended up sleeping together again at some point, and she is now pregnant, unsure if the child is Noel's or Pierce's.
It was after this revelation that something occurred between Jonnie and Pierce thaat ended in his death and Johnnie's imprisonment and eventual suicide 6 months later.
The topic is new to Emily, but she begins writing with a fervor she never felt with her other novels. But when Chess sees what she is working on, albeit by snooping, she wants in on it, believing that this is more her forte than it is Emily's, but she quickly shoots it down, wanting to work on this adventure on her own without having Chess's name tainting any of it.
However, their trip is further tainted when Emily catches Chess in another lie; while visiting her at her home in Kiawah Island, Matt and Chess ended up sleeping together; but Chess explains that it wasn't what Emily is thinking. They never had an affair, and it was only that one time, despite her keeping him on a chain, leading him to believe that it could be more. Chess thoroughly believed that Emily's sickness was brought on by Matt; not by poisoning but simply because of his presence.
Ever since he left, Emily has begun feeling like her old self and she realizes that Chess is telling the truth.
The two of them invite Matt to come to Italy under the pretense that he and Chess are going to reveal their indiscretion to her together; but it turns out that they lured him there in order to kill him, and be able to get away with it. Which is exactly like what happened all those years ago at the villa between the group of 5. Emily had uncovered that it wasn't Johnnie who had murdered Pierce, but that it was Mari herself.
In the end, the two of them end up collaborating on the book and it is a huge hit, and we get a look into Mari's life. Nearing her 40s, she returns to the villa, the summer she ended up passing away, and reveals that Johnnie was actually responsible for Pierce's death, that she wrote it was her as fiction and a fantasy, though she didn't have anything to do with it; that she and Noel hadn't remained in touch or good friends after the events of that summer despite people thinking otherwise. But, while she wasn't directly involved in his death, she did nothing to help Pierce, only wanting to finish writing her book, which would become her one and only bestselling novel, titled Lilith Rising.

The Southern Fork Americana Festival came to a rousing close last night with Traveller…Robert Ellis, Cory Chisel and Jonny Fritz…all well-known to Tuning Fork regulars…having a good ‘ol time on the stage together with their buddy Josh Hedley.
Forming something of a alt.country supergroup, Chisel, Fritz and Ellis, have gotten together, recorded an album titled Western Movies and are playing shows down under before bringing their new act to The States.
And while things are still a bit loose and not completely worked out…well, that didn’t matter, in fact it added to the fun.
Up first was another Tuning Fork regular, Nashville’s Joshua Hedley, who is doing some celebrating of his own after having just been signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records.
Josh’s album, Mr Jukebox is still a few months away, but we were treated to the title track, along with ten other tunes delivered in Hedley’s honky tonk style.
And speaking of style, Josh was looking good…wearing a ten gallon hat and a very sparkly suit that feature a huge gator across the back.
The best songs were the tearjerkers, including Jerry Lee Lewis’ Another Place, Another Time and his own I Don’t Want To Fight With You All Night, in which he was aided by the guitar stylings of Robert Ellis.
Traveller appeared relatively quickly after Josh’s set. The quintet was running on fumes after only getting about an hour’s sleep the previous night…they had just played a show in Australia.
Fritz, Ellis and Chisel weren’t to be outdone by Hedley…all sporting very snazzy gear.
In addition to the three frontmen, the band is filled out by bassist Geoffrey Mueller and drummer Tank Lisenbe.
Together they lit into the first song, Happy In Hindsight, taken from the new album.
The three vocalists traded verses and the harmonies fell into place naturally.
There was a bit of fluffing around between songs, but when they finally got around to playing and singing, the waiting was worth it.
In addition to tunes from Western Movies, they each performed songs from their solo careers, Jonny Fritz with Stadium Inn, Robert Ellis with Elephant and Cory Chisel with a beautiful Southern Arms.
It was a great way to wrap up the festival, a night out with old friends, singing new songs and everyone enjoying each other’s company.

REVIEW: LEROY FROM THE NORTH INTO HEALTH AND FITNESS ON NEW EP
Tumblr media
Leroy From The North brace for the release of debut EP, Health And Fitness, today (August 2). Leroy From The North is the brainchild of guitarist and singer-songwriter, Eli Wulfmeier. You may recognise Wulfmeier’s name from playing and touring with music notables such as Katy Rose, Brian Wright, Shelby Lynne, Joe Purdy and Jonny Fritz. He also played guitar with Interscope Records band, The Wild Feathers, for close to three years and’s a member of the band, Dorothy.  “I think that playing with others, has had a positive impact on my writing,” claims Wulfmeier. “This last year has been spent writing a lot while I was non-stop touring with Dorothy. All that time away allowed me to work on lyrics and absorb different cultures and scenery. I’m grateful for the experience.” Health And Fitness is the first official release of Leroy From The North, but there will be an LP of all new material following on its heels that is set to release this fall, 2019.  The five-song EP was produced and engineered by Geoff Neal (Chris Robinson, Black Keys, Dwight Yoakam) and was recorded at the legendary Hollywood studio, Sunset Sound. “For this EP I wanted to bring in some songs that I had finished and just see how they developed with a band,” Wulfmeier explains. “We started playing ‘Here in my Home’, ‘Hey Man’, and ‘Into the Sunset’ live to see how they felt in the set, so those moved along fairly quickly in the studio. ‘Locked Out’ and ‘Fast Friends’ I had recorded earlier with Daxx Nielsen on drums, Johnny Flaugher on bass, and Rai Thistlewait on keys. Those songs just seemed to round out the EP, so it made sense to add them. I think the overall vision was to make an EP that had some teeth, but was still fun.” In high school Wulfmeier played in clubs around Detroit. From there he moved out to California and went back and forth between San Francisco and Los Angeles picking up gigs. Eventually he got an audition as a guitar player with Katy Rose and toured for a year with her. Following that he started a band, called Lexington Queen, that played around LA for a few years. After the band ended he took an internship at Interscope Records, where he landed in a band the label put together, called The Wild Feathers. “They were a band the label wanted to model after The Eagles, so it forced me to become more of a singer and lyricist,” he pointed out. “It was that experience that pushed me to start Leroy From The North.” “Making Health and Fitness was meaningful,” Wulfmeier expressed.  “I got to record with all of my friends. I’ve played with many of them in different bands, so it was nice to have the familiarity and professional respect.  We had a blast recording and I’m excited to do it again soon. I’m looking forward to releasing more music and videos soon, as it’s been pretty fulfilling so far.” No singles for this project. The opening track, “Into The Sunset”, is about overcoming adversity, things figuring out in the long run.  This rings in glad, busy guitar turning into a bobbing swagger.  Lynyrd Skynryd style, “Just outside of Reno/Listening to the Eagles” just about sums it all up.  Southern rock, “It’s gonna be easy.”  Eagles, “Take It Easy”?  A choppy guitar solo takes things higher, before soaring evermore.  Wailing organ embellishing things. “Fast Friends” details becoming better friends after a fight.  This very calm, lightly pulsing.  Then the groove broods moody, incrementally raising in volume. Shuffling, jazzy drum matching the almost whispered vocal. Then the guitar, blaring. Reaching for the stars, just so you know the dynamic shift is nothing short of kneejerk.  Cacophony of guitar and drum resounding.  The vocal refrain with light drum, muted bass and guitar plus organ somewhere in the background.  “He was my best friend and I didn’t know him at all” matched with those shimmering organ keys. “Here In My House” is of isolation and trying to keep with society.  This counts in like some kind of, a little bit, Led Zeppelin melodrama.  “It’s been a while since I left my home, stuck inside for days” leads to despondent licks on the bass and, “Better run for your life.” The chorus is quite a shift, bluesy to the bone, organ subsequently ascending in wild fashion.  Hitting like forged steel, in a way, as he proclaims, “Here in my home.”  Then he implores you, “Spread your wings” and then the volume, brute force of the track starts to make sense. Mournful lead guitar cries, perhaps in feeling desolation.
youtube
It’s holding onto a relationship, but shooting oneself in the foot in “Locked Out”.  This opens with lick of acoustic guitar cuing the song proper.  Very sad and wistful.  A descending bassline refrain furthering this effect.  “All the scars you left I keep them on my sleeve” a lyric to really convey the metaphorical pain.  Maybe even in the realms of the physical.  Slit wrists, even?  What seems twin guitar really sounds teary eyed and of some beauty. Closer is “Hey Man (Hammerheads)”. Isolation, confusion and voicing a bit of outrage fatigue.  Eroding privacy and how one might let it happen.  Comparing lives through social media and not wanting to be left behind, professionally and socially.  Judging by the amped count in, you know the track’ll be emphatic. “Let’s be careful when we’re talking/Everywhere there’s someone watching/Cameras high up in the sky/Scanning barcodes in our eyes” very much comment on surveillance society, as aforementioned. A descending riff, yet with those ringing chords moving in forward motion. “Entertainment is so distracting/Keep us safe take and take no action” like the scourge of social media taking us away from what’s truly worth our attention, the beauty of the outside world.  “All the walls along the border/Movin’ toward a new world order” then leads to a tapping style guitar solo, very electronic and, daresay, futuristic.  A keystroke away from the dystopian?  It’s feel organic, however, like a glint of hope amidst that.  “It’s good enough for me” like contentment outwith all of this.  This hits hard, though fades gently. All the tracks on Health And Fitness particular highlights are “Into The Sunset”, “Fast Friends”, “Here In My House” and “Hey Man (Hammerheads)”. This effort proves Leroy From The North to be emphatic and a touch sedate. Indeed, aligning alongside bands like Eagles is definitely a fairly accurate summation of their sound.  Yes, they owe a lot to that but it’s with a relatively modern twist to it, too. Leroy From The North, with this varied effort, debut EP under their belts, have contributed something rooted in the Seventies but with modern lyrical themes and more. Musically and lyrically, very special.  The other one track not in highlight consideration is good but takes a completely different tack.  Proof they can do quiet, outside balls out rock, if nothing else.  Leroy From The North’s EP, Health And Fitness, can be bought on iTunes, here.
