Okok so I'm gonna try my best to answer all ur qs

(also u are under no obligation to read all of this, it turned out a lot longer than I expected :D)

1. Basically, after the attack (I'm assuming u mean after Hollow stabs themself but if not I'd be happy to talk about the actual confrontation lol) there's a lot of panic regarding whether Hollow's going to survive or not, so there's not really any time to properly process the whole "holy fuck the thing I thought was a bastardisation of the corpse of my child is actually just my child," so it's only after Hollow's been stabilised that I can imagine PK and WL sitting down and coming to terms with it.

The infection REALLY does a number on u, both mind and body, so Hollow's basically just snoozing in some sort of (dreamless) healing coma while their parents have a breakdown at their bedside. I imagine PK and WL's relationship to have been pretty strained since the vessel plan was enacted, like they still love each other but they can't really seem to agree on anything anymore.

Ditching the vessel plan is the first thing they've wholly agreed on in 17 years.

2. So! Immediately after they wake up, I think there'd be a lot of overcompensation on WL's part. She was never a mother to Hollow and she feels IMMENSELY guilty about that fact, so she'd probably start trying to be super motherly to them, giving them food, being affectionate, trying to start conversations, etc, which freaks Hollow tf out bc it's a COMPLETE 180 to how she interacted with them before. Before the reveal, she was super detached, kind of like she is towards Ghost in the game, mostly in an attempt to remove herself from the entire situation?? Like if she doesn't acknowledge them she can't get lost in her grief?? Cuz I imagine she genuinely believed that the void had sucked out her child's soul and was piloting around their corpse (or something of the like) and then there's the GUILT of the whole situation, KNOWING that you had a part to play in the death of so many of your children, that you were complicit to something so cruel?? I don't think she'd be able to truly face it, so she basically just let herself ignore them. And the most she ever really saw of them was when they were sent to guard her gardens and Hornet dragged them from their post.

So. Now she's seizing the opportunity to finally get to know her child, but she's also not really taking their feelings into account on top of ignoring the very real trauma that Hollow has from being treated like a glorified roomba their entire life. Her main coping strategy seems to be to just. Ignore her problems lmao (she like me fr fr)

3. SO. Pk. Whooo boy.

At this point, I don't think he'd realise that Hollow was never hollow, bc then he'd have to face the possibility that none of the vessels were hollow, and if that's the case, how many of his children has he killed?? He knows a fair few of the vessels were stillborn, but how many hatched and died at the bottom of the abyss, cold and alone and scared??

(Yes the vessels hatched, yes this is a gijinka au where most people are born like humans. Higher beings are weird and also non human, moving on)

So PK at this point believes that at some point while growing up, Hollow had an idea instilled and,, gained consciousness?? Ig?? And he likely blames himself bc of course he does.

With PK there's a lot of guilt there, which I think would mostly lead to complete avoidance, bc "surely my child doesn't want to see me after how I've treated them, I'd better give them space,"

Meanwhile Hollow is wondering whether their fears truly have come true and their father does hate them for not being pure.

Just. A lot of miscommunication.

When they finally talk it out, there WILL be tears.

4. The Dreamers!!

With Herrah, I think she'd be a pretty big support for Hollow during their recovery. I don't think Herrah was ever truly convinced that Hollow was pure?? Like she witnessed a lot of small moments between them and her daughter while they thought nobody was looking, along with subtle mannerisms that just. Wouldn't be there if they were pure.

Like, Hornet once roped them into playing hide and seek with her, and as smart as her baby is, the Pure Vessel, were they completely hollow, would only be able to act when given orders, and there's no way a 5 year old managed to give complex enough orders for them to be able to follow. She probably just yelled at them to play with her and they did lmao (bc they can't say no to their bby sister duh)

Herrah was also on the outside, so there was no reason for her to go into denial or detach herself the way Hollow's parents did, so she'd be much more likely to notice them shifting on their feet, their ear flicking when they tune into a nearby conversation, the way they'd lean into any and all contact with other people, how reluctant they are to let Hornet down when she no longer wants to be carried by them, etc etc.

Herrah may be titled the Beast, but she's not stupid. However, at this point, she's seen them spar with the Knights, she knows that they would be able to escape unnoticed if they wanted to, they're definitely skilled enough. So that means that if they end up being sealed inside the temple, it's their decision, and she respects them for that.

She also notices how reverently they treat their little sister, so if nothing else, they can bond over their mutual adoration of her.

Herrah's a pretty abrasive woman, loud and unapologetic, so I figure she'd be a nice change to the coddling of their mother, and Herrah ends up promising them a place in deepnest if they ever feel the need to escape the palace.

Herrah's the only dreamer I've really thought about?? And since she was there when the incident happened, she's very present for pretty much the entirety of Hollow's recovery. The other 2 don't really come into it till later, so for now let's just say they're all probably pretty relieved that they don't have to sacrifice themselves anymore lmao.

5. The 5 Great Knights!!

I don't have anything super specific about these guys yet? But I imagine they'd be friendly to Hollow. Hollow looks up to them all quite a lot and they were probably the closest things they had to friends growing up?? But honestly not much really changed there except they start trying to bring them into conversations, and they're always willing to spar if Hollow ever wants to.

6. Finally, RADIANCE!!

So I imagine that after Hollow has stabilised, PK will immediately start trying to distract himself by basically preparing for war. If it wasn't personal before, it definitely is now. The Radiance discovered his child's sentience before anyone else and what's the first thing she does?? Turn them into a weapon to be used against him (slightly hypocritical of u there my guy)

There's probably a lot of feelingsy bullshit that everyone (ESPECIALLY the royal family) needs to work thru before any action can really be made against Radi, so for the most part she's just simmering in the background. Her who was probably bruised when Hollow managed to wrestle control away from her so she's probably licking her wounds in the dream realm, but after a few months, infection rates start to REALLY spike again, because she is PISSED.

I could make PK and Radi duke it out but I kinda wanna lean into Hollow’s empathy?? Like they’re hyper empathetic and I feel like after having Radi in their head for a while they’d come to understand her anger?? Like they still want her gone but they understand that she has every reason to be pissed at PK, at least from her pov. (I’ll get into Hollow’s feelings regarding Radi in a later post bc this is getting ridiculously long now lmao)

So maybe eventually they can come to an agreement with Radi?? I’m not sure on the details but I don’t think I wanna just kill her off.

Hii, it's the first time I ever talked to anyone on this app (nevermind that I've been here for some time...) I just really have to say your Under The Sun universe is on my mind 24/7 🥺 I owe u my life bc of it, it's my comfort world 💕

I have a lot of... i guess I can call them theories (or what ifs), about the world and all that, everyone can expand it in many ways (I'm doing it for fun), for example: are they REALLY the only people left? What if the readers appearance not only brings memories to bois little by little, but maybe time - by that I mean seasons, they're getting more aware that it's not paradise and something is wrong. It can take turn to psychological story. Different thought: Are they dead? Even if they're dead, maybe this afterlife is the last chance for them to be together, perhaps they grow apart and need to take care of some businesses between each other to rest? Reader's character is a complex one, mainly bc she could also bring awareness (i really enjoyed wonwoo's part and his thinking), after things are settled maybe the dead are making peace with being, well... dead, so they can be chilling once more...

I just like to think about that stuff lmao sorry 💀 It got me invested and shit. I enjoy your writing and amazing ideas, wish u all the best ❤️

i will say i think i mentioned that the seasons are still a thing? it was probably a one-off line early on but they do keep track of different plants growing in different times of the year, the fics just never tend to go beyond summer since most (if not all) of the stories take place over a month or so and don't go super far past it. i think the only one that would diverge from that would be the poly ending if i end up writing it (and even then i don't think i ever planned for it to go super far--just beyond one month)

i do love the other parts of ur theories/questions tho <3 again, won't confirm/deny anything, but its fun for me to read these hehe so tysm for sharing!!

see this is kinda a hard question? bc I don't really like historical fiction that's just set in that time period but i love retellings (rip I know sorry lmao but I promise u there are GOOD gOOD ones that actually understand the text it's trying to retell) and I also love historical fantasy? Where it's set in a fantasy version of a historical place in our world but as fantasy

I mean one of the novels I'm toying around with is a fantasy story inspired by the philippine revolution and also....a noli me tangere retelling but that one is contemporary (starring maria clara and ibarra is a butch lesbian lmao who goes by cris)

20. what are things you look for in a book?

God it's honestly easier to answer this as like what are the ingredients that would make me love LOVE a book and that depends on the genre tbh! And also easier to answer this as like...what am I NOT looking for in a book.

So for SF/F

- I'm not the biggest fan of worldbuilding where they basically hold your hand through it. Like...im trying to live in the world, make me live in the world. I especially dislike it when one of the POV characters is clearly the vehicle for that kind of exposition.

- more and more I'm seeing sf/f authors who just........do not take any stance about the oppressive world they created. It's especially jarring when it's on the fucking cover of the book and in the author blurbs that oh this book is filled with anti capitalist critique and oh this is so so critical of the military then u read the book and it's filled so so much with "both sides have been harmed by the system so why can't we just get along 🥺" ok pussies, I get it ur a villainfucker but you can still destroy the oppressive system in ur own goddamn novel and have ur MC and ur villain turned anti hero fuck. You decided it. This is not a fanfic.

- like I just think a lot of authors don't fundamentally understand fantasy and sci fi beyond "ooohh magic" and "oooh space" and like maybe if ur writing a romance crossover maybe you could get away with having fantasy and sci-fi as mostly set dressings but when I pick up a book in the ADULT sf/f section, I'm expecting a critical lens towards things in the book ok

Romance

- I need the LI to not be an asshole, like maybe they could be an asshole but they improve but it is surprising how many LIs there are where they're just...not a good person? And people find that hot ig but I am actually...trying to ROOT for this person. You gotta make me like them.

- Third act break-ups are frankly annoying but they are everywhere to the point of being a staple. So romance books that have a third act conflict that isn't a break up are ALWAYS more interesting to me

- I also tend to prefer romance books that aren't starring cishet white people :) but I also am in a romance book club so I don't really get to decide that all the time (I mean thank god for libraries bc I prefer reading physical books :) ). The reason being is that I could literally just turn on the TV and boom bland cishet white people romance

All That. i did my best with it! do i think it could be better? probably. 😩😩 but ill leave it how it is instead of picking at it as i tend to do LMAO

also same if i was in reader’s shoes id literally just give up within like five minutes LOL but i wanted her to be strong esp with her being a pro hero, so 😌😌😌 sis ended up being p badass

So full disclosure I don’t have a record player YET, but I know that my dad bought me one for Christmas this year (because if I don’t ask him for something specific he’ll freestyle and that’s not fun for anybody) and I am SO EXCITED to go to record stores and browse I know that sounds like a lame thing to be excited for but it’s like a new frontier for me!! I’m glad to know they’re out there for when I start hunting them down!!

Also I’m sure my mom has also been plowing through the hallmark and Netflix Christmas movie arsenal while I’ve been away.

Friend have no WORRIES Harry Potter was one of my very first hyperfixations! Here’s the thing though, whenever I take the pottermore quiz or any other quiz I get mixed results between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I guess I have strong traits for both, I just never really thought of myself as smart enough for Ravenclaw. But I’ve always struggled with self-esteem issues so it’s entirely possible I actually am smart enough for Ravenclaw I’m just being a lil bitch about it. But then again, I am a creative and a hopeless romantic, which just screams hufflepuff in my eyes. I just hacked into my old pottermore account to see which house the hat actually gave me and as of right now it’s hufflepuff but I’ve definitely gotten Ravenclaw before. Honestly I’m fine with either, but from a purely aesthetic standpoint……. yellow < blue….

ok let’s start with probably one of my ultimate favourite chanonpom fics written by the one and only love of my life alexa @scrubbfantine 💞🥺 the fanfic was based on these very extensive tags i wrote on one of alexa’s web weaving posts and when they really wrote it i deadass started crying lmaooooo but the fic in question is ‘is this too much to expect’ and.... i re-read it basically every month, it makes me so stupidly happy and warm 🥺🥺🥺 im so So lucky to have an amazing friend like alexa who writes SO WELL and made this little something for me 🥺 please read this fic anon, it has the gifted kids being just kids, it has domestic chanonpom, chanon being a flirt and pom being so happy he doesn’t know what to do with himself. it’s just. perfection

moving on to ‘small things are spectacular sights’ written by the supreme chanonpom clown king himself rahul @petekaos !!!! this is one of the most wholesome things ive ever read and it fills me with joy just thinking about it 🥰🥺 the dynamics between the kids and pom are EVERYTHING and rahul is able to do this thing where you can Feel how much chanon and pom love each other by the way he writes them. it’s magic!!!!!!!! this fic helped me get through the end of tgg and tbh rahul would make every gmmtv scriptwriter unemployed if he wanted to, those people really need to read rahul’s work and start taking some notes smh chanonpom had so much potential to be So Good but ... u know how it went down. there’ll be more of rahul’s work in this ask but let it be known that he basically invented fix-it fanfics with what he writes for chanonpom

ok nowwwww it’s ‘a privilege to know and forget’ also written by alexa, and GOD. alexa can write the BEST background fics(???) like take a scene from the actual show and they make it BETTER. and that’s what a privilege to know and forget is, a look into what could’ve happened the day pang and wave face pom in the warehouse and force him to remember all the things that tormented him still but that he couldn’t name. it’s angsty and i LOVE me some angst. this fic is chef’s kiss

anon are you ready to cry but also die of happiness??? then ‘my weary heart has come to rest in yours’ is for you!!!!!!!!!!!! another one of rahul’s great masterpieces, this is set when chanon and pom were at ritdha and it’s lowkey an enemies to lovers au (tho as rahul stated in the tags of the fic, pom doesn’t really hate chanon, he just wants to believe he does). it’s a very enjoyable read and it will make you smile like a dumbass sometimes, but hey. it’s chanonpom. no one can help it

next we have ‘out of the blue’, which is one of the many interpretations of how chanon and pom reconnected after pom regained his memories (because we pretend s2 canon doesn’t exist ❤️). written by a legend (alexa) as the secret santa gift for another legend (rahul). the dialogue here is just ........ idk man. makes me feel a Lot. and it’s the Only way for them to reunite that would actually make sense, because chanon would NEVER do what he did. NEVER. wtf was that ooc clownery ❤️ but we don’t need to worry about that bc alexa’s got our back

.........ok *deep breath* im sobbing just thinking about this one. since we started this off with one of my absolute faves, let’s end it with The Number One chanonpom fic in my heart: ‘even if the world changes (can you promise we won't change?)’ aka the aftermath fic

this fic is Very Long. but it's totally completely 100% worth it. rahul..... idk he channelled all the hurt, the longing, the pain, the fear, the hesitation that both chanon and pom feel after the way they crossed paths again in tgg

it's absolute brilliance anon. i SWEAR. ive never read anything that made me feel as much as this fic did. again, as i said before, rahul just. writes chanonpom in the rawest way, he makes you understand and feel all the unspoken feelings between them, their love that is so repressed because they are scared but also so unbearably loud it almost drives you insane.

the aftermath fic is the BEST fix-it you could ever ask for ever in your life. it gives chanonpom the ending they deserved, which wasn't easy, but that they fought for. it begins with the balcony scene from ep12 of tgg and the way that exchange should've been, and what should've come after it.

i need to stop myself before writing a whole love letter about this fanfic, but it's just so incredibly good, anon, that i could talk about it all day. in fact i did, and still do lmaoooo all of these pics are memes i made after i read it because rahul deserves the hype and i need every single soul on earth to read it idc if you haven't seen the gifted just. READ IT.

seriously anon please Please do yourself a favour and read the aftermath fic. it has hurt/comfort, an amazing character development, food as a metaphor for love, chanon and pom slowly learning how to let the other in and how to forgive each other and themselves for all that happened, and of course, it has the gifted kids being basically chanonpom's actual children. which reminds me.... as if all this wasn't enough, it also has the most wholesome epilogue of all times

OK. OK ok im done. i just can't help it when it comes to the aftermath fic. but

YOUR LINE BY LINE ANALYSIS OF HOW IT RELATES TO LOKI AND ASIS IS WOW. AMAZING. i really really liked how you made the point about Loki feeling like maybe if the roles were reversed then he wouldn’t have been someone reader noticed. i had never thought about it like that before and that’s really such an interesting thing to think about, and i definitely can see him thinking that about himself. also like ok do we think loki was a little shy in school or what. ig it doesn’t really matter but what a cutie (babe i would notice u i promise). the “who am i to ask for more” line too wowie. hit the nail on the head fr that’s definitely something loki would spend a lot of time thinking/worrying about 🥺.

also as for songs he should listen to omg AAAH i could go so many directions with this i’m overwhelmed by choice. i think maybe the chorus to Smoke Signals since it’s so vague & could be applied to a lot. i see it as kind of like a cry for help being answered? idk but i think that really applies to both the reader and Loki. also KILLER!! i think Killer sounds a lot like a lovesick or just desperately in love person feeling like they aren’t enough for their partner or are like too “screwed up” which is..Loki in a nutshell i feel lmfao. I’m sure i’m forgetting a lot of songs that would fit them and his inner monologue super super well but really any song can fit if you choose to interpret it like that so whatever you choose (if you end up doing it) will be so perfect. AND YAY OMG IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKED THE LINE ANALYSIS!!! to answer your question, i don't think loki was necessarily shy, but i also don't think his social life was super riveting. i can see him in class trying to look nonchalant while his prof tells everyone to get into groups, but on the inside he's sweating because he's never invited to be in a group and he's tired of his professors making exceptions for him so he can work alone. kind of a downer :( i do think he hooked up with a fair amount of people, but that was almost worse because no one seemed to want anything more with him - which is part of the reason loki doesn't know if you would have noticed him in any other context. or, at the very least, that he would have held your attention. i'm right there with you tho, i would notice mr lokey 🥺

and omg... you r a genius because that 2nd verse of killer is calling out to me. i'll have to write the scene, and if the surrounding inner monologue/overall emotions are too heavy then i'll go with the chorus of smoke signals (GREAT interpretation on ur part top tier). but i think killer is going to be one and i'm definitely going to credit phoebe bridgers anon in the author's note of that chapter (unless you don't want me to! i know you're on anon so if that makes you uncomfortable i 100% get it) :D (PS i was reading a random article about songs that are subtly about serial killers and Killer was on there and they cited the line about jeffery dahmer and i was like a) not subtle b) not what the actual song is about?? this is a dumb thing to tell you but i just did it anyway)
