The new EV02 fully complies with the new FIA 2022 technical regulations and features new aerodynamic solutions and intake system. The braking system has also been updated. The car will be delivered to customers from the second half of 2022, and previous Huracán GT3 EVO model can be upgraded to the GT3 EVO2 specifications via an evolution kit. Its track debut is slated for the 2023 Daytona 24 Hours.

BENJAMÍN HITES COMPETIRÁ POR LA SEGUNDA CONQUISTA DE UN TÍTULO EN EUROPA

-El piloto chileno es el líder de la categoría Silver en la Copa Endurance del GT World Challenge de Europa que tiene la última fecha de tres horas en el Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya.

SANTIAGO / BARCELONA / ESPAÑA / 29 de septiembre de 2023.- Con 54 autos en la grilla se realizará este fin de semana la quinta y última fecha del Campeonato Endurance del GT World Challenge de Europa, donde el chileno Benjamín Hites (Grasser Racing Team), junto a sus compañeros Glenn van Berlo y Clemens Schmid, correrán por la corona de la serie Silver en posición de punteros a cinco unidades del segundo en el ranking.

Un total de 97 puntos suma el trío conformado por el chileno, el neerlandés y el austríaco en el Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 #85 que saldrá a la pista este sábado 30 por la mañana a las prácticas libre y por la tarde a la tanda preclasificatoria. El domingo 1 de octubre se conformará la grilla de largada por la mañana y por la tarde de Barcelona (10:00 a 13:00 horas de Chile), se desarrollará la carrera final de la temporada.

Un total de 54 autos competirán en el circuito de 4.675 metros, lo que representa la mayor lista de inscritos en los ocho años de historia del popular evento. Con cinco campeonatos por decidir en las categorías Pro, Gold, Bronze, Pro Am y Silver, seguramente habrá mucho drama en el enfrentamiento en la pista española.

La batalla por el título de pilotos de la Copa de Silver la encabeza el equipo Lamborghini Grasser Racing #85 de Hites-Schmid-Van Berlo con 97 puntos por delante de Sam Dejonghe-Loris Hezemans-Finlay Hutchison (Audi Comtoyou Racing #12) con 92, mientras que el Audi Tresor Attempto #99 de Alex Aka-Pierto Delli Guianti-Lorenzo Patrese también está en juego con 77 unidades.

Disputadas cuatro estaciones del torneo en Monza (Italia), Paul Ricard (Francia), Spa Francorchamps (Bélgica) y Nürburgring (Alemania), el trío del chileno consiguió  dos poles position, dos triunfos y un segundo lugar que los tiene en la cima de la categoría Silver.

 

Asimismo, el team del deportista nacional, el Grasser Racing, disfruta de una saludable ventaja de 18 puntos en la clasificación por equipos gracias a la contribución de su Lamborghini #58  de Fabrizio Crestani-Sam Neary-Gerhard Tweraser. En la Copa Silver estarán representadas las marcas Audi, Aston Martin, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche y Ferrari, que suman en total un grupo de 10 máquinas.

La lista de inscritos de 54 autos es la más grande vista en el evento, superando la parrilla de 53 autos de 2018. En las cinco carreras de resistencia anteriores en la pista, la parrilla promedio fue de 48 coches.

The Huracán GT3 EVO2, the pinnacle of race tech and progress for the Huracán platform, was just introduced by @lamborghini. The GT3 EVO2 is a race-ready version of the STO designed exclusively for GT3 class racing. There are significant differences from the STO, with rear-wheel drive being one of the most significant. A redesigned intake system, which directs air through a snorkel rather than side intakes, optimizes airflow into the engine, is backed by all-new aerodynamics. New carbon-Kevlar honeycomb side panels have also been added to improve side impact protection.
