This is what I love about being a health coach! So glad I said yes to being healthy a year and a half ago releasing 86 pounds and showing up better for my family feeling better have a more energy and just having a more quality of life. Isac will never know what it’s like not to have his dad around because his dad has to work or can’t make some kind of event because he got held over at the police department.. JJ, Kevin and Isaac have full access to Lidia and I 24 seven and that has done so much for our family bringing us closer together and being able to be here for our kids and show them what it’s like to be able to not just take what you get but create what you want ! showing them that you can be happy and healthy without being fitness fanatics. Enjoy life and support your family and your dreams without having to follow the status quo of working at 9 to 5 job we’re going to college or like Me joining the Marine Corps. not to mention doing all that while serving others, and helping them achieve their dreams and their goals! I love that now every day is bring your kid to work day lol! Isac loves to just come in to the office and hang out. I also love to take the office to him and be able to help and serve people while he is watching Blippy and his dinosaur shows lol.!!! We’re not lucky and this is not a lottery ticket and didn’t not just happen. It took saying yes to getting healthy. Yes, just showing up and Lucky we’re not lazy.! When you really want some thing there is a way to achieve it. I am just thankful for moments like these! #stayathomedad #healthcoach #Servingothers #86lbsreleased https://www.instagram.com/p/CnFMxTVp2U4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eurovision 2010s: 160 - 156
160. Margaret Berger - “I feed you my love” Norway 2013
youtube
This is definitely the section of the ranking where I feel comfortable enough to park the fan faves I like, but not love. 🤗 “I feed you my love”, definitely falls into that category for me. It’s a discount Robyn track, and one that liberally abuses its dubstepping budget.
However, I kind of lowkey ADORE Maggie Burger (-mel giedroyc). ^_^ She seems like just.. a naturally evervescent sparkplug of a human? What really sells “I feed you my love” to me specifically is her diction. It’s like Mélovinese but even better, somehow. Enjoy this adverbatim transcript:

159. Lidia Isac - “Falling stars” Moldova 2016
youtube
Yes and I *also* feel comfortable enough ranking random NQs higher than celebrated runners up. 🤭
Real question: Is “Falling stars” really that much worse of a song than “Sound of silence”? I’d say the compositions are quite even  with the only real difference being the care they’re given, which Moldova, a poor country with a population of three million, simply can’t afford to do so, lacking both the talent and the resources.
As hopeless as “Fallen stars” is though, I must commend Lidia Isac here: In spite of the very narrow odds she faced, she pulled of a very valiant attempt at qualification. I think she’s a engaging and has good chemistry with the astronaut dancer (who btw, forgot to take off his backstage pass <3 incompetence <3 <3 <3). I will never reneg on praising a plucky underdog, and Lidia is precisely that.  ________________________________________________________________
158. Leonor Andrade - “Há um mar que nos separa” Portugal 2015
youtube
Lmfao you forgot Leonor was still in this, didn’t you? Well let that be exactly why I rank her this high 🤗. Let me open with a Personal Leonor Anecdote:
Back in 2016, a few of my friends and I did a CO-OP ranking of all entries between 2007 and 2016, ranking them in turns. With over 500 entries in the mix, everyone just *forgot* about Leonor and she quietly made it to 75th place without ever being in danger of getting taken out before. 😂
As you can expect, my Leonor Fandom initially stemned from how memorably unmemorable she is, but as all Ironic Appreciation goes, it’s only a matter of time before it sets itself as Unironic. Much like Lidia, Leonor is not a shabby or a money maker, but a spirited bottomgoddess. Her delivery is much more intense and fierce than you may remember. Kicking the air with her giant plateau heels <3 Aggressively oscillating her shoulder pads around as a means of punctuation <3  Incoherently yelling into a windmachine <3 Ah, the tactile futility of it all <3

157. Tamara Todevska - “Proud” North Macedonia 2019
youtube
Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl
Oh dear how do I even tackle this one. Tamara still feels like a “Pleasant Random Underdog”, but she actually made he top 10!!! 😲
The gulf between “Proud as a song” and “Proud as a performance” is giant for me. I never cared about “Proud” as a song: It’s a stripped down power ballad with “relevant meaning”, which as you know is one of my least favourite Eurovision tropes. Also the “relevant meaning” here is female empowerment, which is awesome, but how much traction does that theme have in a song written by three white cisgender men?
However, with their new name can the time for reinvention. North Macedonia went ToDevSka and it was beautiful. Tamara was a STAR and shone so bright (into the sky):
Tumblr media
and I mean, man, for a song I don’t fundamentally care about, I sure as hell love revisiting “Proud” and it’s all because of Tamara. I thought she would be a Gabriela (Guncikova or Horn, both work) we instead got a Kostov/Dami. She injects SO MUCH credibility in her song by making it a personal experience directed at her daughter. Poised and dramatic, yet warm and inviting. Tamara is the heart and soul of “Proud”. Simply put, she was brilliant.
I can’t think of anyone more deserving of being their country’s first top 10 placer after a 7 harsh NQs. Well done.  ________________________________________________________________
156. Soluna Samay - “Should’ve known better” Denmark 2012
youtube
More pleasant randoms!!
Okay, so I remember how I am going to slaughter the underwhelming 2012 entries before the next shade of green? We’re almost there, so the time has come. Get ready!
However, Soluna doesn’t belong to that group for me, so I’m getting her out of the way first. “Should’ve known better” has a lot of heart and I find it very endearing. Overachieving drummer girl <3 All the backing musicians/singer combos <3 bringing her own furniture. <3 “Should’ve known” better is just a very quaint indie darling that many people overlooked, but never fail to conjure up a smile. ^_^

FALLING STAR: MOLDOVA’S LIDIA ISAC ELIMINATED FROM THE VOICE OF ROMANIA | wiwibloggs

HEY LIDIA ISAC IS PARTICIPATING TO THE VOICE FRANCE :D I usually don't really like it when singers come to the Voice because they already have an audience, however, I like that Lidia explained how difficult it is for artists in her country to keep singing due to the lack of funding and the conditions of discography houses... She made the chair of Florent Pagny turn :) Florent Pagny is one of the most prominent figures of music in France (and beyond!), due to his extremely powerful voice (he sage everything from French pop to opera) and charisma. He's also the coach who's been doing the Voice since the very first season, so I think that Lidia Isac is wonderfully served with him, since she's a huge lover of French culture and music :)

I really appreciate how Moldova can send a pretty conventional pop tune and still somehow be incredibly memetic about it.

In one of my previous posts I said Moldova always brings something crazy to the table so I decided to test that so behold:
MOLDOVA in Eurovsion appreciation post 🇲🇩
If I update tumblr will I get yellow and dark blue for fonts??
They participated 16 times, year after year like the champs, came last once (ooops), never won and I say they should for the vibes alone. Since 2005 they gave us:
This year's train folks (research shows that this is their third time competing yay)
Natalia Gordienko (2021 Sugar, still mopey that we didn't get dancing ice cream cones on eirovision stage)
Tumblr media
DoReDos with their doors (2018 My Lucky Day)
Tumblr media
Epic sax guy! Twice! The meme, the joy, the living legend, also their best result #3 (officially Sunstroke project, with Olia Tora in 2010)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My research reminded me of astronaut in 2016, they had astronaut! Still nq unfortunately (Falling Stars - Lidia Isac)
Tumblr media
I want your love - Eduard Romanyuta in 2015 is a bop, bye
I loved A million by Aliona Moon and now I find out there is a moldavian Version?? Also look at her dress
Tumblr media
I got decently into eurovision in 2012 so everything before is foggy. The rest of this list will be filled based on Google images and vibes first 5 results give me
These guys don't dissappoint, as I thought (2011 Zdob şi Zdub -So Lucky)
Tumblr media
2009 looks fun *their entry because "Moldova 2009" gave me burning buildings and that probably wasn't fun (Hora Din Moldova - Nelly Ciobanu)
Tumblr media
In 2008 they had...a couch?? (A Century of Love - Geta Burlacu)
Tumblr media
2006 hiii Natalia didn't know you were there
These guys really never dissappoint (Zdob şi Zdub - Boonika Bate Doba, 2005, they were kn wheels, they had a GRANDMA with a DRUM on WHEELS, what a debut)

ESC2019 Preshow #22
22. IRELAND Sarah McTernan - “22″ SemiFinal 2, #02
youtube
Oh come on guys putting her at #22 was just a given, bear with me. Don’t tell me you did not see it coming. 😏
ENTRY ANALYSIS
What I didn’t see coming however was a lovely entry from Ireland, but here we are. 😊 I’m not sure how we even got here? RTE claims they conducted an “extensive search” and got over 350+ submissions and the best they could come up with is apparently a generic bubblegum pop song by a muppet woman who was rejected from 1in360?
Still I enjoy this song. There’s something warm about “22″ that always makes it a pleasant listening experience. It sounds retro in a timeless, rather than dated, sort of way. Like, a song from Hairspray maybe?  (which Sarah definitely should be using because her giant fluffy ponytail keeps battering her face in that VC  😂)
Tumblr media
I quite enjoy the lyrics as well: they’re banale and very silly, but in a good way:
~Everytime I’m with somebody I’m confusing him with you~
How does that even work, like... you decide to date and then sleep with someone and you spend the entire time imagining he’s someone else?  😂 I mean, think about it for a sec: you’re hooking up and letting some random dude bone you (or you bone some random dude/chick we don’t heteroshame/topshame here) but all you can think about is your ex? Imagine how awkward your sex life must be. 🤭 but let us move on before this turns into a Jack Whitehall sketch.
QUALIFICATION ODDS: not qualifying.
Not a chance, sadly enough . "22″ joyfully bounces around in the Leonor Andrade Zone of “There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with this entry, but it’s never going to qualify, despite their best efforts” and it’s sad because I hardly ever like Ireland in ESC and when I do they always get drawfucked 😭 (RIP Sinéad Mulvey & Molly Sterling)
The issues Sarah struggles with though are problems which Leonor (or Svala, or Lidia Isac) never had deal with: Sarah’s live performances are sort of... listless? Lifeless? Slow? Inert? Definitely not something you’d want to pair with a cheerful and uptempo song such as “22″ It creates a disconnect that shouldn’t be there. As much as I regret saying it, I think Ireland will be the last place of the year. They’re just waiting to become an embarrassing mess, and when it happens you can be damn’ sure I’ll be there to affectionately poke fun at it, like always :-)
Projected Placement: 14th-18th in the SemiFinal.
