Missed Communication [Time x Fem!OC x Malon]

This was not how I thought my first visit to Lon Lon Ranch would go.
Maybe a friendly greeting with Time's Misses, a few laughs with the boys and then a well placed excuse to escape the chronic awkwardness (and unease) that seems to dominate my every interaction with the Hero of Time these days.
Not. This. Whatever this is.
---
Our first meeting had been as normal and pleasant as any magic portal driven meeting could be. That is to say, not normal at all but pleasant regardless. Just really, really weird.
The older Hero and I had just clicked, despite this. His nonchalant deadpanned humor matched well with my well-placed instigation and soft-spoken wit. It helped that I was (physically) his age and boosted a maturity surpassing that of most of his charges.
Also, he was handsome as sin. Like, painfully pretty. Don't get me wrong, objectively all the boys were beautiful, but the mature set of Time's jaw and the faint lines around his eyes just stroked the woman in me.
Man has dilf himbo energy in spades. The whole damned package.
Malon was a lucky woman indeed.
The first few months of our aquatince was warm, simple and steeped in a growing trust that grew with each exasperated sideward glance and fond smile shared over the boys' heads. He was, in the truest meaning of the word, my friend. I dare even say a good one.
And then it happened.
That damned fortune teller.
The beginning of the end of our budding friendship. Stopped dead in it's tracks in less than the span of a breath.
I don't know what she'd told him that day, and he wouldn't tell, but it changed something fundimental in the bond I'd thought we'd shared. Now, he can hardly stand to look at me most days, let alone have a full converstion.
And I'm...just so lost.
It hurts, the sudden distance. So unexpected. One moment we're sleeping next to each other each night, whispering fondly about his beloved wife and my beloved pets, and the next an entire fire and six bedrolls lay between us.
But what can I do. He'd made his stance clear, silent though it may be, and who am I to cling to a friendship I was the only one harboring. It wasn't fair to him, and it most certainly wasn't fair to me.
So, I let it go. Just stayed in the back of the group where our paths wouldn't have to cross and began to forge new friendships among the boys. And honestly, I'm still enjoying myself among this gaggle of sweet, overly protective gremlins. Despite whatever misfortune (or miscommunication) caused this rift between Time and I.
Case in point, Legend might just be the funniest guy I've met in a long time and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to grow closer to him. Even if his words sometimes bite a little too close to home. Though Hyrule's quiet concern over the strained interaction between thier unofficial leader and myself often leaves me feeling guilty. His large, inquiring eyes and soft, sympathetic smile enough to shake a woman down to the bones.
Such sensitive boys, all of them.
I wish I'd had answers for them.
Especially when it all took an even deeper nosedive when Time recieved a letter from his wife. Standard fair but for the way his eye had hooded and cut towards me for just the briefest of moments, focused and cold.
Had I not been looking around the group as I had in that moment, I would have missed it entirely. But be it fate or luck (ill though it may have been) I had unintentionally made eye contact with him.
It was the first time in all my interactions with the Chain that I felt...
...afraid. Of him.
But it was gone as soon as it happened. Seemingly a simple misread flicker of the firelight, but for the way my heart stood cold in my chest for the rest of the night afterward.
And many more nights to follow.
So, upon exiting the portal to the wide pastures of a land I pegged to be Time's, I steeled myself. Against what, I wasn't sure, but I was on his home turf now and he certainly didn't seem to want me around. So, I'd imagine he'd take exception to my presence in his home.
But nothing could have prepared me for...
"Goodness! Why, aren't ya just the sweetest thing! All doe eyed and honey dew smile! Dear! Why didn't you tell me she'd be such a darling!"
Malon.
She took to me like a bee to pollen, a moth to light. She locked her arm with mine immediately and refused to budge, even as she embraced the boys one by one. Her dark blue eyes were glimmering (like the surface of deep water) and hair shining in the sunlight. Sun-kissed face glowing with wonder and delight. The freckles on her cheeks charming across her sweat slicked skin.
She was wonderful. She was beautiful.
I was terrified.
I couldn't bring myself to look in Time's direction. I didn't think my heart would survive what I'd find.
I was afraid to see that cold, focused eye ripping though my soul again, as though staring down an enemy.
I made my excuses early, feigning weariness, much to Melon's dismay. She took it well enough though. Called me a delicate, spring flower. Showed me to the guests rooms, offered me my own. I refused (I wanted to stay with the boys. She seemed charmed by the admission). Touched my hand with such warmth, was slow to withdraw.
I smiled at her, small but grateful, hesitant. My heart was hammering in my chest. The hairs on the back of my neck rose at the feeling of a stare on the side of my face.
She smiled back, seemingly eager for my tentative gestures of friendship. So very sincere, radiating the kind of adoration a person spends their whole lives searching for.
I didn't look to her right. I didn't look up nor  over her shoulder. I kept my eyes on hers, entranced by their dark colors and the little sparks of life dancing within depths but afraid to tell her so.
She was absolutely gorgeous and I was so smitten and so very fucked.
I hoped my face didn't give me away. I prayed that my eyes didn't reveal my thoughts.
When her eyes crinkled at the corners, I knew I'd failed.
I bid them a good evening.
Even as I'd closed the door I could still feel his gaze on me.
I stayed in the room all that evening and all through the night. Four was sweet enough to bring me a plate of dinner, and I was once again so grateful to be in the company of such caring young men.
I really, really was.
That night I slept with Hyrule curled against my back, trying to be the best big spoon he could. Sky was at his, the whole damned ladle to encompass us both within his arms. Legend at our feet, his hand curled loosely around Sky's half rumpled sock and face scrunched in discontent, fingers occasionally twitching around the fabric.
I loved them all so much.
---
Then things got weird.
I exited the room the next morning before the majority of the boys had even left their bedrolls and found Time waiting at the end of the hallway. He was wearing a plain off-white shirt and dark pants.
He looked good. Relaxed, almost, but for the tension in his shoulders when he caught sight of me. The reminder was enough to tear my eyes from him and keep my gaze lowered as I moved steadily to walk passed him.
"Hey." The sound of his voice startled me, so long has it been since it was directed towards me.
He sounded awkward and I wanted to ease that awkwardness. I did not have the strength to, however. I was a coward.
And hurt. Very, very hurt.
Petty.
"Yes?" I eventually said after the stilted silence had carried on too long, unable to keep watching this strong man (this good man, still, for all we were at odds) struggling to continue.
His one good eye tried to meet my gaze, feather soft and regretful in my peripheral, so very vulnerable under my carefully blank stare fixated on his cheek.
"I know I don't deserve it, and you need not accept, but I'd like to properly apologize for the way I've treated you in the recent weeks." He finally managed, voice laden with an emotion I couldn't fully place but thought sounded suspiciously like grief. "If you'd allow me, may I please escort you to the kitchen?"
I wanted to say no. I wanted to stay silent. I wanted to be petty.
I wanted Sky to stop worrying about me. I wanted Twilight to stop repenting to me. I wanted Hyrule to stop fretting for me. I wanted Warriors to stop defending me. I wanted Wild to stop raging for me. I wanted Legend to stop hurting for me.
I wanted...I just wanted...
I just wanted my friend back.
I wanted to feel safe again.
"Okay."
I've always been such a fool for vulnerable men.
Tentatively, he offered his arm, eye soft and resigned from the corner of my vision. Waiting for me to reject him, I realized, wanting me to express my rage the only way he knew I'd allow myself. Wanting to be punished accordingly for having suddenly scorned my friendly gestures and inquiring whispers.
What a fool man. Such a damned idiot.
Guess that makes two of us.
I took his arm, fighting down the wave of unease and spite that pushed against my throat. His arm was warm and solid under my tentative touch, barely restrained power coursing under the cloth and skin. I'd nearly forgotten how his shoulders seemed wide enough to carry the weight of the world.
No. No I hadn't. In the quiet of the night, when the unease and uncertainty were strongest, sometimes I wondered if that might would one day snuff the light from my eyes.
I wondered if he'd cry in remorse afterwards. If he'd feel anything at all.
He wouldn't. He wouldn't feel a thing because he'd never do that and I knew it. Wouldn't have been fighting for breathing room between Sky and Hyrule's smothering heat if he'd had any intent to remove me from their lives. Wouldn't have been cradling Wind's small head between the soft valley of my breasts if he'd deemed me dangerous or unsavory or suspicious.
I may have fallen out of his favor, but he loved his boys with a fierce and zealous devotion. He'd never let harm befall them, be it body, soul or tenderly beating hearts.
He'd have cut me down long ago if he ever meant to. To spare his boys the pain of loss.
The kitchen was bright and smelled faintly of herbs when we entered, my arm still folded gently with Time's.
Malon was there, enchanting red hair down around her shoulders and eyes bright, despite the early hour. The faint crease lines of pillow marks reddened the soft curve of her cheek, stark even against the spread of her freckles.
She smiled at me, tired and fond, before pinning her husband with an intense, expectant stare. The set of her mouth and brow was carefully neutral, but the fire in her eyes gave away her true feelings.
She was mad. Not livid or spiteful or even disappointed, just mad.
She was scarier for it. I could tell she wasn't the type of woman to go off on a rampage and say or do anything that would deminish the validity of her own arguements or feelings. She was probably the type of woman to say exactly what she means and how she feels without embellishment nor doubt. She seemed the type of person you couldn't find fault in their anger, because it was perfectly supported by their words and actions.
Noticing this, I almost felt bad for Time and how thoroughly he was probably admonished to make him this compliant after weeks of silence and avoidance. Almost. Mostly I just felt a hesitant spark of validation and kinship with Malon, even as confusion and caution swirled in my chest.
Why? Why was this even happening in the first place? Why this sudden atmosphere around the couple?
They loved each other so much. They missed each other so much. Before- that happened, Time never shied away from expressing his feelings regarding his wife. Nor what she'd written to him in turn.
What happened? What did she see between Time and I that would bring her scrutiny down on her beloved husband? For a woman she didn't even know?
Time led me to the chairs closest to where Malon was leaning against the counter, loosening his grip enough for me to remove my arm from his. It seemed to be another conscious decision on his part, to not pull away and to allow me to be in control of our proximity. Honestly, it was sweet he was trying so hard, and had it been before all of...this, I certainly would have swooned at the effort he was making.
I steeled myself against the warm feeling trying to take root in my stomach though, and instead took a seat at the counter.
"Good mornin', darlin'. You sleep well?" Malon asked softly, eyes warm and sleep dry lips pulled into a tired but inviting smile.
I nodded, before managing to speak around the lump in my throat. "Yes. Thank you for having us, Ms. Malon. I apologize for retiring early last night. The road left me quite weary. You and your husband's hospitality is most appreciated."
I noticed a spark of something glinting in Malon's dark eyes, before it was soothed down with a bright smile. "Now, now! There's no need for that, dear! You're always welcome here!"
She looked to her husband then, and when I instinctively followed her gaze, I wasn't expecting what I saw.
His jaw was clenched, betraying the- false- smoothness of his brow and relaxed curve of his ears. He was upset, but trying to reign it in and project a calm front. The lines around his eye gave him away though.
He looked hurt. Gazing into Malon's eyes with a lost expression.
What was happening?
I couldn't take it anymore. This underline tension and these confusing actions and feelings being tossed over my head. Like fists full of powder clogging my senses.
"I'm sorry, but, please." I said softly, bringing their attention back to me. My stomach rolled, but I pushed on. "I don't understand what's happening right now." I kept my eyes averted. "Please just explain it to me, so I can understand how to fix this."
Silence.
I spoke once more into that silence. Voice tight with emotion and broken, useless pride as I continued.
"I'm sorry for this tension I've caused. I meant no harm. I just want to make amends for whatever I did to offend you." I looked Time in the eyes. The first time since that fateful night we locked gazes across the fire. "I'm sorry. Tell me how to fix this. Please, Link."
The warm slide of tears escaped down my cheeks without permission, my body no longer able to hold back the immensity of my feelings. The hurt, the confusion, the desperation. The pulsing, writhing, whispering doubt that was my fear.
Fear of this man's wrath and the power he so casually holds over me, a foreign woman with no means to properly defend or support herself in this strange, unfamiliar world. Who's very survival hangs by the thin thread that is the Chain's compassion and continued favor.
Fear of his every frown and unreadable silence. Of the loyalty the boys hold for this man and his words, his influence, his command. Of how quickly he can take it all away in a moment of displeasure or offense. This warm safety net of fondness and companionship I've built myself within the soft, welcoming hearts of the boys, nothing more than delicate silk webs weaved around his fingers. Allowed purchase by the grace of his will alone.
Fear of his overwhelming strength, his unrelenting fury in the face of opposition. Of his unyielding might and unfathomable abilities beyond anything my limited understanding of this world can comprehend. The raw talent he possesses, the potential he wields, like magic weaving themselves into mortal flesh.
My shoulders begin to shake, throat closing as I hide my face in my hands, fingers wetting with tears. The weight of everything crashing down like stones upon my chest and I'm overwhelmed by the fall.
I miss my world, my home, my family, my friends. I miss my independence. I miss the security of knowing how to survive in the world around me, of being able to support myself and choose whom I give myself wholly over to.
I miss the power to live without fear of others opinions or goodwill. To stare down those who would judge and scorn me with the confidence of a woman with a full time job and the money to back up her words. Her own apartment, her own bills. A phone and heating and water and food and furry little mouths to feed.
A woman assured of herself and where she stands in the world. I woman without fear.
The woman I used to be. Not this sniveling, begging shell of a creature clinging to life by the favor of a man. Who. Hates. Her.
Eventually, the tears ran their course and I finally became aware of myself again. Arms were around me, holding me against warm muscle hidden under soft cloth as my hands twisted into their long sleeve.
"I...I'm sorry." I choked, embarrassed and struggling to breathe through blocked sinuses. "I didn't mean to...to..."
I opened my eyes.
I realized, staring at Malon's blurred face twisted in compassion from across the counter, that it wasn't her holding me.
She wasn't the one holding me.
My breath nearly hitched in anxiety, stomach dropping in the cold void of my guts. My mind reeled with confusion, a thousand thoughts swirling through my head between one breath and the next. A cold sweat broke out along the nape of my neck, along my lower back.
I'd frozen, still clutching to the sleeve between my fingers and my shoulder tucked into a chest (firm, laden with dense, lithe muscle) that could only belong to one man.
This didn't make sense. Being forced by your wife to apologize was one thing, but to actively comfort the person you resented was something else entirely. I couldn't wrap my head around it.
I felt confused, wrong-footed, relieved. But mostly, I felt stupid. Because I didn't understand a damned thing that was happening right now or what had caused this sudden shift in Time's behavior.
Then Time started speaking, and it was like the entire world began to shatter and remake itself around me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think- I didn't know-" He paused briefly, before taking a deep, fortifying breath and continuing. "I'm sorry I hurt you. That I put fear in your heart. It was never my intention. I hadn't even considered how the situation must have looked to you."
Another breath, the slightest tensing of his arms around my shoulders. "You always seem so calm and assured in everything you do. It didn't even cross my mind that you might feel vulnerable after everything that's happened to you."
My heart squeezed. All my insecurities, being laid out before me. One glance at Malon's knowing gaze and I understand where this sudden awareness must have come from.
Time continued, heedless of my newfound understanding. "I never once intended to cast you aside or let harm befall you. I care for you so dearly. Even if you had decided to reject my companionship, I'd still protect you all the same. I thought you knew that, but I was wrong. I should never have assumed you knew something I didn't tell you."
He sighed, but it sounded shaky in my ear. "I hadn't stopped to consider your feelings, before I sought to protect my own. And for that, I'm sorry."
The arms around me tightened, as though trying to impart the sincerety of his words with the action. He needn't have bothered though, because despite it all I believed every word he spoke.
If there was one thing I could always rely on, it was his honesty in matters regarding the heart. No matter how strained our friendship became, it was the one thing I knew he would not actively lie about.
But still.
"But I never did anything to you." I sniffed wetly, fingers digging into his sleeve as I fixated my gaze at the countertop where Malon's freckled hands were resting. "I don't understand why you suddenly felt the need to- escape from me." The tears wanted to come again, but I held them back. This was too important to lose focus. "Please help me understand. The fortune teller-"
Time groaned suddenly and Malon laughed with impish delight, a glint of mischief making an unexpected appearance in her eyes. The sound of Malon's laughter brought confused warmth to my chest, cutting through the thick turmoil muddying up my mind.
Awkward silence. Until Time sighed again. Deeply.
"She told me I'd find new and- passionate love."
What?
Wait, what?
I pulled away from his arms a bit, just enough to turn and peer at him through watery lashes, taking in his blurry visage. My brows pulled down and a look of disbelief no doubt found purchase on my face, mouth pressed in a tight line.
"That's it? Weeks of avoidance and radio silence because some lady in a tent said you'd get the hots for someone? And you just assumed that someone might be me?"
I couldn't believe it. All this time. Just because some lady happened to see us traveling close together and decided to play matchmaker? Really?
Of all the-
Wait a damned minute.
"Time?" I said, tone flat as I locked gazes with him. Dead serious.
He looked right back, though there was caution in his eye now along side the regret. "Yes?"
I leaned forward a bit, our already close proximity putting me squarely in his face. My could feel the spark of rightous rage taking form in my chest.
"You weren't having doubts about your marriage with Malon, were you?"
And suddenly there was no space between us, noses nearly touching, his stare so intense I almost pulled back despite still being trapped in his arms. I could feel the warm, damp spread of his breath against my lips and chin.
"No." He said with dead calm, the hard surely of his tone left no room for doubt.
"Good. Because if you were, you don't deserve her." I threw back, still giving him a hard stare.
Silence. He breaths smelled of coffee and something sweet coated over his natural scent. It made my gut twist in a not unpleasant way. It reminded me that his arms were still around me. How warm he was in the morning chill. How firm his muscles were against my hands and shoulder.
He grinned then, eye brimming with fae-like mirth as he rested his forehead against mine. It was the first time I've seen that beautiful expression in so long. My heart ached at the sight of it, warmth and sweet relief flooding into my heart like babbling spring water.
"There you are." He breathed lowly, eye closing as he leaned more into our point of contact. He inhaled deeply through his nose, shoulders relaxing. I hadn't even noticed until then just how tense they were. "I thought I'd ruined this."
"Hmm?" I hummed in question, still caught up in the rapture of seeing his smile again. Head foggy from our proximity, I felt the beginnings of fatigue settling into my bones from my earlier crying.
"My! Would ya look at that! You weren't kiddin' when ya said she had them lovin' eyes, darling!" Malon spoke up suddenly with barely contained glee, popping the bubble that seemed to exist around Time and I.
I pulled away hurriedly, realizing just how close Time and I had been. Sharing breath, foreheads resting against one another and our noses nearly bumping together. His arms around me and my body nestled into his chest. All of it completely inappropriate for the situation. Especially for being right in front of his wife!
And she sounded far too pleased with this whole thing. Like it didn't even matter that I'd just blubbered in her husband's arms and then touched my face to his like I had a right to.
The confusion was back. But this time, it pulled bright, sweet warmth to my cheeks as I stumbled to my feet. The gentle wink of butterfly wings swirled around in my stomach and Malon's delighted smirk only intensified the sensation, sending the flock up into my throat.
I needed to get away. I needed to think.
"I-I accept your apology, Time!" I stuttered out embarrassedly, fighting the blush I knew was trying to heat my face. "I hope we can talk more later, but I'd like time to think about what you said!" I explained a bit too loudly even to my own ears, nearly wincing at my own awkwardness.
Malon, having come from behind the counter, leaned against her husband's back, hands on his shoulders. She smiled sweetly, a complimentary expression to Time's amused grin. Both of them were haloed by the sun shining softly through the window behind them, like a Goddamned magazine cover.
Goodness, but do they make a beautiful couple.
No. Stay focused. Escape first and then figure out what the Hell is happening. Get yourself together.
"Have a good day, Time, Malon!" Time's lip twitched upward. My stomach squeezed. "Okay! Bye for now."
Then, I all but ran from the kitchen, leaving behind what may have been the last of my dignity. Behind me, Malon's sweet laughter chased me down the hall, alighting my face with hellfire.
And therein began my first official day at Lon Lon Ranch.

Because of the limited perspective of first person narrative, a lot of the finer details are implied rather then stated. So if something seems out of left field, it's because the OC herself didn't realize what was happening behind the scenes.
Now I must return to the shadows to rest.

Chapter 9: Catching up?
When Wind sat up Enno was quick to help Warriors.
"Here, let me take something." They said, grabbing the pitcher and walking with him back to the spot. "I still don't see why you said this place was nothing much. I think it's very pretty here."
Warrior smiles. "We'll come back at some point then. I just meant that it was small. Hyrule field used to a beautiful place for a picnic-"
"But it's all destroyed here." Wind takes a sausage and bread for himself, sneaking over to steal the cheese and cut it up for all of Enno. "So this tiny park is the only thing they have until it grows back."
Enno shift awkwardly. They take a little bit of the food and drink for themselves to ignore it. That took a bit of a dark turn. "It reminds me of a park back home. I lived near a city that basically had a man made forest in the center of it. It was made to create jobs back after a war years ago."
"A man made forest?" Warrior takes his share, putting the extras in the middle for anyone to reach. "How does that even happen?"
Wind takes a big bite of his food. "When can we go visit your home, Enno?
"I- Hold on." Enno digs through their pouches to find their phone. Enno leans over to show him some photos as they explain. Warrior leans over while Wind practically throws himself onto their lap. "I don't think I have photos of that but I have pictures of something else. There was a place we called the 'highline'. It used to be a small train shipping rail between factories back when the area was still the meatpacking district. Because the city doesn't have that much nature they decided to make it into a park. I used to hang out there while waiting for my dad to get out of work when his office was there and I was still in school."
Only the trees and benches look familiar but they can tell that their world is very different to their own.
"Enno, which one's you?" Wind asks. "Who are these people?"
Warrior smiles and leans against them. "Looks nice."
"Uh… Some are tourists, some are just people going to work." Enno shrugged. "I was always doing homework, eating lunch, or writing while sitting here. It's a good people watching spot." Enno said, putting their phone down and turning it off. "I don't know if you guys will ever come around to my world but I would like to show you both around. The city is loud though."
Warrior shrugs. "A city is still a city. It can't be much louder than here on a festival day."
Wind frowns and pouts. "I'm not good in loud places.... Is there any way that it quiets down at all?"
"Probably, I can also help you muffle the noise. We have some things." Enno pats his head. They took a bite of their food, wondering what they could do to help Wind. "We could start around my home, then see if we can go into the city."
"Earmuffs, Kiddo." Warrior ruffles his hair right after. "Remember when you were here and saw snow for the first time? Those could work too."
"Maybe.." Wind hums, looking at the pictures some more. "It looks pretty warm there."
“It was taken in the summer. I might live on an island like you, but the difference is that for me it’s not a tropical one.” They lean on Warrior. “We get a lot of snow in the winter. But I really prefer summer and spring.”
Warrior grins, wrapping his arm around Enno’s shoulders, biting into his food. "Let's hope we get good weather when we visit then."
Wind appears to be thoughtful as he chews his food. "I like snow... but I don't like the cold."
“I agree. But it gets fairly cold there. If we were to visit I hope it would be spring or fall. Mostly because we have different things to offer, but also because the weather is just right.” Enno starts purring. They closed their eyes and rested again now that they ate. “It would be another family day out.”
Warrior slowly rubs his hand up and down their arm, resting there contently, watching the sun go down over the horizon. "Sounds perfect."
"I'd like that." Wind's head is placed on Enno’s lap, beginning to purr as well. Warrior runs his hands through the boy's hair, purring as well, feeling content and whole that this little family is within his arms.
"Just don't fall asleep yet." He warns you both. "We still have to go back to the castle."
“What are you gonna do about it?” Enno looked up at him with the most lazy smile. They still sat up. “Just kidding. We should head back soon.”
Warrior pouts from behind their back, wiping it from his face before they could see it. "Well I didn't mean now."
Wind snickers, having seen it all.
"Hush you."
“Well yeah,” Enno pinches Warrior’s cheek like he was a kid. “I don’t want to get too comfortable that I fall asleep.”
Warrior pulls away from the pinch, snapping his head to try and bite their fingers playfully. "I could carry you no problem if you did."
Wind rolls his eyes, pretending to gag. "Go be cute somewhere else."
“First you couldn’t, we bought a lot of stuff today.” Enno pulled their hand back and stuck out their fingers.
“Secondly-” Enno pulls Wind to hug him and just snuggle, fully teasing him at this point.. “We can’t compare to how cute our son is.”
"Hey!" Wind struggles in their grip, turning around to face Enno. He sticks his tongue out.
Warrior snorts. "He gets it from his father, clearly."
Warrior then nudges Enno’s shoulder. "And you underestimate my determination."
But he sighs and moves to stand. "But you're right. It's a bit of a walk back and we should be there before dark? We should go."
“If we must.” Enno follows him and gathers their stuff, making sure to dust off their stuffed animal. “Come on,Sailor.”
Wind hops up and joins them, picking up his stuff on the way. Warrior is left sitting on the ground.
Wind doesn't hesitate to grab Enno’s hand and begin to lead the way back.
Warrior smiles to himself, picking up what was left behind. He trails behind them both as Wind entertains Enno with stories of the three Links' time together. He feels whole.
Enno listens intently and lets Wind talk their ear off all the way back to the castle. Swinging their hands together.
"Are you going to sleep with us tonight? Or are you going to sleep in your room with Four?" They asked Wind.
"A..ha...." Wind’s grip on you tightens. "I shared a room with Time. ...Can... Can I stay one more night with you guys?"
"Oh- my bad," They bring Wind closer "I'm ok with it."
they turn back to Warriors. "Is it ok with you?"
Warrior nods. "I don't mind. My bed is big enough as it is."
Wind grins and sways his hands back and forth, still holding onto Enno. "I’d like that."
"I'm probably going to sort out my stuff before we sleep though." Enno says. They had only just remembered that they moved all of their stuff into Warrior's room. "We kinda just left it on the bed."
 They entered the castle's walls and things weirdly felt calm... Enno didn't know why but that was enough to set them on edge.
"Well you look like you all had fun." Cia says, waiting for the three of them at the entrance. "I was wondering when you'd come back."
Warrior shifts into half dragon immediately and steps in front of both Enno and Wind. "I'm going to ask you to move now, Cia. Don't make this worse."
Wind frowns and grabs a few bags from Warrior, lessening his load. Wind's grip turns fierce in Enno’s hand as he stares down the threat.
Cia's face gives nothing away. "I just wanted to chat."
Enno’s face doesn’t really change. They just blink. “Ok. What’s up? I’ll cut back my slang just because I realize that maybe won’t be ok for me to say to you. You… might be offended. My bad.” They say casually, actually meaning it. “I’m not going to be alone with you though. That’s asking a bit too much for what’s been going on.”
"Not you." She waves her hand, opening her mouth to speak again.
Warrior lets out a deep and threatening growl.
Cia shuts up with a click of her teeth.
Warrior does that over the shoulder look. "Enno, Wind, go inside. Don't wait for me."
“Ok, but please both of you. Don’t burn down the place.” Enno takes some of the stuff Warrior was holding and walks past Cia, keeping up this is the ‘everyday’ kind of behavior. Heading to their room, Enno managed to remain fairly calm.
"Mm, yes, whatever, go now." Cia waves them away nonchalantly.
Warrior growls his claws sharpening subconsciously. "I won't be long."
“Soooo there goes my plan.” Enno said once the two of them were far away.
Wind pulls them along, happy to be away from the magic practicing woman. "Your plan?"
“Well I was hoping to have you give him the pocket watch.” Enno sighs a bit, worried about Cia and him being together. “I should probably find Impa, Zelda or Lana….” They said out loud, knowing that those two are going to be at each other’s throat.
Wind hums. "I'll figure it out. It's not like we're leaving him behind. There will be other chances."
Wind leads them through the castle with practiced ease. They find themselves in front of Warrior's bedroom soon enough and Wind opens the door.
They both hear a roar from outside the castle.
Enno flinched and ushered Wind inside, not really paying attention to Warrior’s room putting the stuff down.
“Stay and lock the door.” Enno closed the door and ran back, not trusting that those two should be alone anymore.
Wind runs after them and grabs their arm before they can go too far. "Don't Enno. If you get hurt, it'll crush him."
He looks up with pleading eyes. "Please...let's just go inside."
They stopped and looked down at him. “I am just going to go to get Zelda.”
They bent down and kissed Wind’s forehead. “Just give me five minutes, I will be back before you know it.” They said, taking Wind’s hand off. They smiled and slowly backed away. “Don’t worry. Five minutes.”
"I don't like this." Wind stays put. "I'm counting five minutes!"
Enno takes off running and finds Warrior. It's not hard to miss him.
He's turned full dragon and he's larger than they thought he would be. He already has a gash on his shoulder.
Enno bounces back to hide behind the corner. Seeing the gash made them angry to the point that they didn’t realize they had transformed half way. They wanted to catch Cia off guard but knew it would be difficult since they didn’t know how to control their magic. BUT THERE WAS A NEED TO SMITE HER.
Warrior shifts down halfway, holding his shoulder. He curses and turns to run into the castle. "I can't let her get to them."
He turns the corner and takes a deep breath and suddenly freezes.  Warrior turns to look at Enno, shock all over his face. "Enno... what... why.... I thought you were with Wind."
“I was. You're hurt. Who is she after and I swear if you said Pinky I am going to start swinging.” They growled. “Either way you need to go to the medical center.” They take the arm that wasn’t hurt. “Come on.”
Warrior shakes his head, letting them lead him anyway.  "I need to find Cia first. She was going after you. Pinky might be on the list but she's convinced that if she can either send you away or disfigure you, then we'll leave you both alone."
Warrior growls and whips his arm around to unleash a fairy. "I said I'd save this but I'm about to tear into her. I don't care what Lana or Zelda say anymore."
“Oh good. Fun even.” Enno was angry, running down the stairs two steps at a time. They didn’t know what they were going to do when they saw her but they had some choice words for her, not really caring anymore. They try to gather themselves though since it felt like they were getting close.
Warrior was able to keep up better once the fairy healed his wound. "Enno."
They keep running.
He called out to them again. "Enno?"
Still nothing.
A third time. "Enno. Enno!" He pulls them to a stop. "Where's Wind?"
“He is in your room. The door is locked.” They pull their wrist away “He is fine, Link.” They turn back and  continue to stomp down the hallway. “I know I’ve known her for less time but I want to do something.”
They wanted to just shock some sense into her. Literally or mentally, hopefully both.
Warrior nods and follows them once more. "If she can't get to Wind, she'd probably go after Pinky as an easier target. She might still be in the medical bay."
He looks Enno up and down appreciatively as he sees their half form once more but he doesn't comment on it. "What are you planning?"
“Sadly it seems like we share something. Which is being able to know and slightly witness things that we really shouldn’t. I have a sinking feeling that, while I can’t talk to her out of it. I gotta somehow wear her down. Her behavior is almost like Ganon took control over her again.” Enno said, wanting to get there quickly as possible. “Well first I want to just spice up something.”
The door was slightly opened. There was shouting already from the inside. Enno peaked through to see what was going on in there. Cia’s back was to them, they felt sparks inside of their hands.
“Change of plan. Don’t kill me” They whisper, shooting through the door and tackling Cia down, acting like a human taser, hoping to just knock her out. They didn’t realize that their magic was a lot wilder than they thought.
Pinky opened her mouth to speak but she recoiled in fear from the sudden lighting in the room. It appears she was already crying. It's too bright and she was too busy covering her head, ears and eyes from the onslaught of information, sound and light.
Time, seemingly in Fierce Deity form, had thrown himself over Pinky to block the sudden barrage of magic, forming a barrier over the bed she was in.
Warrior dives in after Enno but is forced to take a step back from the sudden burst of magic. He's knocked off his feet, hitting his head on the door frame before he tries to get up again.
Cia screams and her staff goes flying through the room. She doesn't scream for very long before she falls unconscious.
Time shrinks back down to his hylian form and tries to calm Pinky by purring and shielding her from seeing the outcome of what’s happened. He wasn’t expecting Enno to just explode like that. He turns to see them rolled onto their back next to Cia. “Are you ok?”
They shakily gave a single one thumb up, magic disappearing quickly. They feel low and semi-nauseous again, both tired and awake. “She did this to me so it's just her actions catching up to her.” They pant, dropping my arm down. “Wat ‘bout you two?”
Pink stayed curled up for a moment, letting the silence drape over her. Slowly, she unfurls, the pain pulsing through her body. Her previous injuries have been irritated. It’s hard for her to move. "Is she gone?"
Pinky looked up and around. She opened her mouth to ask Time a question before she caught sight of Enno for the first time since the party. "Oh my god, what happened to you?"
Warrior shakes his head, rubbing the spot where he was hit, focusing on one person only.
"Enno!" He runs to them and drops to his knees beside them. "That... was frankly very impressive but stupid. Are you hurt? Are you ok?"
“I think we need to call a nurse to check on Pinky but for now we are both ok.” Time says holding her. “We should probably get her out.”
Enno sighed and turned to Warrior, “m low again.” They couldn’t even keep up the dragon form as they shrink back to their hylian body. Pinky’s comment then registers, “’m dragon now Cia’s fault idk why.”
They rolled over to their side, groaning.
Pinky whimpers as she moves, holding onto Time as she tries to get over her pain. "Is she dead?"
Time shakes his head. “Only knocked out. That's why I want her out of this room.” He honestly doesn’t know how more people aren’t alerted and it's this calm within the medical bay. “You fell on your back. How are you feeling?”
"It hurts." Pinky whispers, trying to sit up. It feels like electricity is blooming over her back while it's pulled taut against itself. She lies back down and curls up. "A lot. It hurts Link."
Time gives Warrior a questioning look before returning to Pinky once more. “Do you want me to put the cream on?” He whispers to her, trying to ease her to lay on her side instead.
Pinky bites her lip, the tears slipping out despite her efforts. "Yes please."
Pinky takes a shaky breath, trying to roll over. "God, I feel like I've been ripped open."
Warrior takes a deep breath, he checks Enno’s pulse and their temperature. He fishes in his belt for a magic potion and uncorks it for them. "Here Sweetheart. You scared me."
Enno drinks a bit of the potion, “I promised Wind I would be back in 5 minutes.” It’s probably been more than five minutes.They were slow in drinking the potion as they stared at Cia. “So what now?”
Warrior sighs and looks over. His hand comes up to where his injured shoulder once was. "I'll take her out, check her in. Enno, stay with Pinky until you drink it all, ok? Wind can wait a bit. Or he can come find us. He's a smart boy."
Enno didn’t like Warrior’s idea but they sigh once more. “Yeah yeah. I’ll head to your room soon though. We have to put things away.” They stumble up and walk over to Pinky and Time, sitting on the floor.
Warrior soothes Enno over first, completely sidestepping Cia.
He runs his hands through their hair and over their shoulder before kissing their forehead. "We'll head back together when she's taken care of ok? If you're feeling better after the potion that is. Don't drink it too fast. Don't move too much. If it doesn't get better we might have to check you in as well, ok?"
He stands and looks at Time. "Watch them, please."
Warrior then turns and picks Cia up effortlessly, tossing her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
He leaves.
Time nods, watching Warriors leave, he sees that Enno was already looking away and grabs the cream. “Afterwards, I can get someone to look at you. While it doesn’t look like it's too bad, we will still need to double check.” Time states, he hears Enno growl softly. “She will get punished for this. This is too far.”
“You don’t- she” Enno sighs, bonking the back of their head against the bed lightly, “Pinky would probably know what I mean, but Cia sounds like those fans that claim ownership of a character and attack people for even mentioning their names.”
Pinky hisses when Time applies the cream on her back. The area is the most sensitive as it has been the entire time. "Link please ...calmer."
Pinky tries to steady her breath and looks at Enno through her peripheral vision. "I vaguely know the people you're talking about. I avoided their circles on principle. I never met one of them. Until today, I guess... I thought she was gonna kill me."
“Sorry.” Time lightens up and does it more slowly “She wouldn’t have… not with me around.”
Time massages her back lightly, frowning at the amount of pain she must be in after that attack. It’s clear that her nerves were shot. Enno snickers in the background, taking a swig of the potion.
“Did you guys plan the wedding yet?” They asked. “You guys sound like an old married couple. Or at least Time sounds like a true husband.”
Pinky grips the sheets around her and tries to relax. "No plans, just engaged."
Time tries to help ease her out of it. He doesn’t turn to Enno but he answers what they’re no doubt wondering. “You probably can't tell since you're so young and not used to everything still. But I’ve marked her.”
"To dragon standards, I guess we’re married?" Pinky sighs, trying to get the last of the tension out of her shoulders. She gulps and slowly forces herself out of the fetal position. "What about you and Warrior? You both suddenly seem very close."
“Ahhhhhhhh, that's why. There was a vibe, now I know.” Enno turned to face the two of them, crossing their arms on the edge of the bed. “I’m still unsure? Like how it was explained we are dating, yet we have Wind who is our son, and calls us by mom and dad. So it's just a thing? Right now?”
"From what I've gathered, you two would technically be dating." Pinky snickers. "But between you and Wind, I think you both just leaned into it. You've been calling Wind your son for years. That carries over."
"Besides... Wind also knows Warrior for longer. He might just feel more comfortable with it now that you're here. Like a missing puzzle piece." She finally relaxes fully, trying to ignore the pulsing on her back. "What does Warrior think about it?"
“About Wind? Warrior is loving it- being called Dad all the time. About me? I don’t think Wind has ever acknowledged me as a parent in front of him. So like that's going to be a thing.” Enno downs the rest of the bottle and rests their head on the bed. “So like are you guys going to have two weddings?”
"...Why?" Pinky hums. She closes her eyes, trying to keep her emotions clear from her face. "It's not like we had a dragon one. It just happened."
“We will get there when we get there. All I want is for you to get better, my love.” Time stops putting on the cream and puts it back. “Two sounds equally fun but stressful. Even though it would even be easiest to have two in each world.”
“Sounds like you're a man with a mission.” Enno teased. “As long as I’m invited.”
"You're mandatory at both." Pinky huffs. "You better show up."
The door creaks open. Warrior raises an eyebrow and puts his hands up in mock surrender. "And what am I walking into?"
He laughs a bit to himself and reaches down to help Enno to their feet. "Can you stand?"
“I can. We were talking about marriage and weddings.” Enno lets him help them. “I’ll probably be back down here tomorrow. So I’ll see you then?”
“If the nurses don’t move her to a different room, yes.” Time sighs, rubbing circles on Pinky’s arm.
“Yeaaaah….” Enno looks around. “Well… good night, have fun with that.”
Pinky waves slowly. "Goodnight. Expect an interrogation when I'm better."
Warrior grimaces. "I'll get some supplies in the morning for her. I'm sorry I couldn't stop Cia in time."
Warrior wraps his arm around Enno’s waist, holding them close as he leads them through the castle. He takes a breath, a deep one and pauses in the middle of the empty hallway.
What a mess.

╰┈➤ ❝ Chain/OC Pairing! ❞
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Warning! Long list of Chain/OC pairing ahead! Ahah!
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Just a notice, the OCs do have a name I, however, just referred to them in this post with their title to make them recognizable easily! Next time, I'll post a little short fanfic individually 😊
Four/Seamtress
I make you guess to which I took the seamstress inspiration
Four and Seamstress met when they were children. Seamstress' family travels around the land and sells their fabrics, outfits and products.
Edited: Four and Seamstress before the Minish Cap event.
Four went to relax in the field after he helped his grandpa at the work, not bothering to change his torned clothes.
Seamstress saw him decided to help him.
During this, she found that he is the grandson of a blacksmith while Four got to see Seamstress' parents works (from clothes to jewelry).
There on forth, Seamstress always looked after the boy with green tunic whenever they visit Hyrule Town.
During the FourSword Adventure, Seamstress got targeted by Shadow because she's close to Four (to which I won't go in details now because I'm going to write a fanfic of it)
one of my favourite. why? because I'm into elf/gnome trope, except seamstress is not a gnome but she's taller than Four and I adore the idea of them being lovey-dovey. Four not minding to be lifted up by Seamstress and Seamstress sitting to lean on Four whenever she's tired.
Wholesome, loud, very supportive of each other. Seamstress loves watching Four smithing (helps him when she can). And also want to impress him with her works like little plushies that kinda reminds of Four the picori.
Warrior/Inventor
I got inspired by the sheika from botw!
Also one of my favourite but for different reason.
Inventor is a son of biiiiscuit— you gonna hate him. He boast and is cocky. Arrogant mf and only love his inventions.
Warrior wonders why Cia didn't targeted this dude yet
Inventor have many projects but sadly is more ahead of time so, much to his dismay, he gotta step back a bit so the things he invents can be properly used—
He is actually passionate about his work and tends to overwork himself.
I can't write much about Inventor since he still in w.i.p. but kinda have some scenarios about him and Warrior
I kinda imagine their trope to be idiot rivals to idiot friend to idiots who won't admit they now fallen for each other and historians will say they were good friends(TM)
Wind &Explorer
Platonic Childhood Friends!
I got inspired by Mido but this one is less mean lol
I like the idea of them going in adventures and playing around their island
Explorer is the one who mostly leads Wind back then but Wind comes up with the crazy idea they do!
Is also protective of Aryll!
Explorer, Wind and Aryll stargaze together and Explorer likes to keep books and charts about the sea and sky.
Explorer never got interested at the old folks story about the bero ("Let that ancient dude's soul rest in peace, for Goddesses' sake!" —Explorer, probably).
Maybe he do a little but lil' lad just want to explore the sea
But it's real business when Wind turns out to be that hero and was devastated. Not because it's true or envy. But because his friend is departing. Aryll got taken and the idea of his friends leaving and never to return again filled made him sorrow.
Still have faith in him tho and yelled at the ocean, sky and horizon to be kind to Wind or he gonna fight them—
Wind cheered him up by promising once he returns they gonna explore the sea together and teach him the ropes like once Explorer did to him
They spit swear!
Other ships that I have but don't have much yet
Twilight/Witch || Witch lives in the forest doing her daily witchy stuffs. Kinda imagine their dynamic to be shaky at first. Once they get to know each other, Witchy and Twilight would be a bit flirty to mess up each. At least try to. Because later they would just go with casual talk, wholesome and domestic dynamic. If one is at the home of another, they look like have lived together for years! Very lax and gremlincore aesthetic pair.
Wild/Historian || I've read somewhere that Wild is around 4"11 so I made Historian 4"6 lol. Came from family of historian who worked for the royal family. Historian is a bit shy but he looks up upon the champions, especially Wild. Pending whether to make Historian live in the past or present 💀
Legend/Bard || Their trope is that "Person A hates Person B's guts so they annoy B. But Person B thinks of Person A as a friend anyway". Don't have much yet but Bard came from a family of historian too who worked in the castle but preferred to travel the world. At time they visit Hyrule Castle, they and Fable have a cup of tea and tells story. May have invited Legend from time to time but some of them got turned down. Anyway, Legend and Bard have mutual respect to each other and has been on travel together when they bump to each other! They are very fluffy-angsty genre.
Hyrule/??? || I adore this dude but I can't help but to be totally unsure since I don't know a lot about him or his game. I'm doing more research
I don't have any for Sky and Time but if I have any it would be a platonic one ^^). For Sky, I was thinking about a mysterious person who resides in the land and raised by the kikwi dhsjdhqks
And for Time, a gerudo. He, Malon and the gerudo are a trio and have a platonic dynamic. Gerudo would protect this two with her life 😤😤
»»———-  ———-«
That's it! That's all! For now!
I have some images made from picrew but they kinda don't have whay I have in mind soooo... I guess I'll just draw them as the next post! I found a cool brush!

"Yes ma'am," Dovah playfully saluted and chuckled.

Pinky Isn't Suffering - Chapter 9
ALMOST DONE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To say that you were able to have lunch with your future self and his wife was not in fact what Twilight was expecting from this adventure. Really anything in the adventure was not something he was expecting.
Yet here he was, red faced as an Older Pinky coo’s over how cute he is. He hoped Pinky was ok. This was very overwhelming. At least it would have been, if his brain could work.
“Is everything ok dear?” She asked, fully aware of what she was doing to him.
“Yes, perfectly ok.” Twilight was more or less attempting to convince himself of it. “It’s a lot to take in.”
Older PInky giggles and takes a bite of the snacks she’s prepared. “I understand, if it gives you any peace of mind. You didn’t push me to choose between my family and you.” She puts down the tea cup. “In fact, we have a way to get between the era’s and the worlds.”
“What?” Twilight lets that sink in. “What do you mean?”
Pinky looked surprised that he even asked, then took a moment to think about it. “Well, I’m not sure how. But apparently Sky got all of us… hand mirrors? That open a gateway to where you want to go.” She look outside to the farm she built up with her husband. “I’m happy that I get to be here and not be away from my family.”
Twilight visibility relaxes; it's been the one of the things that's been in his mind for a while. It was the main reason he hasn’t said anything to Pinky about his feelings even though she knew about them. He is aware that she feels the same. The proof also being right in front of him.
Older Pinky seems to know what exactly he was thinking, “you worry too much, my dear.” She said, leaning back in her chair. Pinky looks outside “I didn’t think I would be up for ranch life.” She looks back at him with a smile “But I love it here and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Twilight looks down at his tea as he repeats what he said before. “Do the kids know?”
“Of my world? Yes, but they know not to say much about it.”
Speaking of the kids, the daughter and son barrel in.
“Mom! Mom! We finish our chores!” Jr. grinned grabbing on his mom’s skirt. Both him and Melody were covered in grass stains, dirt and cooco feathers.
Their mother smiles and ruffles their hair. “Good work today! Go washed up before eating lunch.” She said despite knowing they will just get dirty all over again.
“Race ya!” Melody dashed away, leaving Jr. gasping as he wasn’t ready for a race.
“Hey! No running in the house Mel!” Jr. said, also running in the house.
Older Pinky sighed and shook her head as her husband and Twilight’s Pinky came back. “What did we miss?”
“A race to the washroom.” Standing up, Older Pinky ushers the two to sit down. “Melody got a head start.”
“Is it just me or the more the Kids hang out with a certain Sailor the more rambunctious they get?” Older Twilight took his seat again next to his wife while Pinky went to her own Twilight.
The rest of the time spent in the future was the two time travelers getting caught up on what the others have been up to and what part of the adventure they were on. It was all strangely familiar and nice, for people that technically had just met, the conversation flowed better then how it started out as.
Soon as the sun began to set, Older Pink looked up at the clock, “you two should be sent back soon.” She said pretty disappointed.
“Geez, when did the time go?” Older Twilight said not believing it but he got up, “I’ll walk you two to the forest.”
“You both will go back to the moment you left your era.” Older Pinky adds on since that's pretty important info just so they don’t feel insane about it.
“Thank you for everything.” Pinky says as she and Twilight follow their motions getting up from the table. Pinky couldn’t help but take one more look around the small cozy house. There's a part of her heart that has already fallen in love with this family. Twilight, feeling that same warm and cuddly feeling, sneaks a hand on her lower back as he leads Pinky out with his older self.
Older Twilight gives his wife a kiss before leaving, “I’ll be back.”
“Be safe you three!” She calls out as they head out back into the forest.
It was the same path as the trio took before. Twilight was studying the area as best he could since he probably should remember it for later. “Don’t worry about remembering. I found you guys completely by accident.”
“Oh that sounds like fun.” Pinky was being sarcastic. “It would still be a good idea to remember this location.”
Older Twilight hums. “I mean it would be ok. It’s in the same place Hateno will be if my assumptions are correct.” That was some interesting information to just drop. Twilight had to hold his tongue as he knows that this is himself and anything, he knew he could can fire something back. “But just keep walking here and it will transfer you back to the surface.”
“Thank you Twilight, for everything.” Pinky smiles up at him.
Older Twilight couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “It’s no problem Darlin’ I just hope the both of you make it.” He says like he doesn’t already know how it will end up. He helps turn those two around and pushes them back towards the past. “Be safe!”
Twilight takes Pinky’s hand and waves goodbye to his older self.
Slowly, they made their way through the forest, things shifted and twist around them as they got back in time. Soon enough, they came to the makeshift gates of the surface settlement. Both Pinky and Twilight stood there for a second. Twilight looked at Pinky in the evening light. It somehow made her look prettier than normal. She looks up at him wide eyed, still processing everything.
The question was now… “What are we?”
The chain meets wild, but it’s not wild it’s sage Part 3: Electric boogaloo
A story about Ceres and Aaliyah meeting and slow burning together until they kiss. Written in collaboration with @neverchecking
Warnings: Sage
4.3 K WC (First)
Tumblr media
Akkala wasn’t far. Well, Aaliyah wouldn’t say it was far. But Aaliyah would also say the distance from here to Rito was a leisurely stroll. So, who was she to be the best judge of distance? Or character for that matter. Rolling her eyes, she blatantly ignored the battle cries ringing out from behind her. Link, or Sage as he had been dubbed for convenience sake, had been nothing but a buzzing pile of nerves since last night, when they had hummed and hawed over a game plan. What to do with the new traveling partners, what route actually was the most efficient, and how to lose them in the depths should the need arise. It was needlessly paranoid thinking, but it kept him level enough he wouldn’t commit arson right off the bat, so she counted that as a win.
“Should we-...Should we stop them?” A timid voice called behind her, making her loll her head to the side. Her eyes went from Ceres, then to Sage, who was yanking at Twilight’s hair from where he was perched on his shoulders while the cowboy tried throwing him off. It was almost comparable to bucking bronco really. She was almost impressed. She sucked in a breath then grinned. “No.”
Ceres took a deep breath, eyes never leaving the two…boys fighting. “What are they even going at it over?”
Aaliyah shrugged, “Something about the last egg for breakfast.” Ceres rolled her eyes, not knowing how to stop the fighting themself, so opting to sit back on the ground. She patted the spot next to her.
“May as well sit if we are gonna be wasting time.” Aaliyah looked down at them, then the spot next to them.
“Yeah, I suppose.” Aaliyah turned and made her way to them, sitting with her knees up and hands back as she watched the fight drag on.
“Who do you think is gonna win?”
Aaliyah laughed at that question, watching on as Sage was flipped off of Twilight’s shoulders onto his back. “My money is on them knocking each other out at the same time.”
Ceres snickered, “My money’s on Sage.” They extended their hand to Aaliyah, who shook it firmly.
“You got yourself a deal, Doll.” They watched and waited for a few minutes longer, Sage biting any bit of arm or leg or, hell, even stomach he could get at. Twilight pulling on Sage’s long hair in an effort to get him to stop gnawing at him. Twilight eventually was able to pull him up to eyelevel. Which then they both promptly head bashed each other. They both fell back in opposite directions, hitting the ground hard.
“I guess you win.” Ceres sighed.
“Do I?” Aaliyah smirked, one ear flopping in an act of sarcastic glee. There was no mirth in her eyes, simply attuned amusement. “Guess I get a prize, don’t I?”
Ceres did not like that look in her eyes. It made their stomach feel funny. And what good was that? She swallowed. “...Anything in particular you want?”
Aaliyah’s cheeks dusted a musty rose color, something apparently foreign to the Sheikah as she seemed taken aback. “Well, shit- if you’re offering I got a few ideas.” She laughed, head tossed back in a laugh. Something in her voice tinged with an accent she was unfamiliar with. It was nice. Ceres flushed and Aaliyah laughed even harder. She was a bit of a cunt, but apparently Ceres was into that. “Young larrikins like you are so easy to tease.”
“What did you just call me-”
“Down girl.” Aaliyah settled, shaking her head a bit. “Larrikin. It means you're young. Rowdy. But, ya have a good heart.” She looked at the boys, then shook her head. “We’re gonna get caught with our heads up our asses at this rate. I say we leave ‘em to fend for themselves.”
“No!”
“Worth a shot.” Aaliyah groaned, pulling out a tablet. She scrolled along the screen for a second before pulling out a yellow bulb like fruit. “Wanna see something fun?” Her grin turned devious and before Ceres could say anything, a shower of sparks lit up the area along with some yelps of pain.
“Aaliyah!” Ceres scolded, starting to make their way to help Twilight before realizing they couldn’t. Both of the men jumped to their feet, yelping and leaping away from one another and the yellow bulb between them.
“Aaliayh!” Sage screeched out, holding onto his back as he staggered over to the girls. “You can’t just fuckin’ shock us like that!”
Aaliyah crossed her arms over her chest, “You two knuckleheads are the ones who knocked each other out!”
“And you are the one who just shocked us with a fucking volt fruit!”
“Whatever, you’re fine, crybaby.”
Sage looked as though smoke was coming out of his ears, but it was truly just his slightly fried ends sending the smoke into the air. Twilight finally snapped out of his shock long enough to follow Sage over. “That was kinda rude, doncha think?”
“You shut the hell up, Mutt. She can do as she fuckin’ pleases.” Sage hissed out, taking another step towards Twilight.
“Okay.” Ceres stepped between them before they could beat each other senseless. “This, has to stop. Now. Y’all are being ridiculous right now. If you need to hug and kiss to make up, do it now.” Ceres moved out from between them, motioning with their hands to do something. Both men grumbled before stepping towards each other and shaking hands, a bit too aggressively.
“How did you do that?” Aaliyah whispered, eyes wide watching the scene in front of her.
There was a moment of silence before the Sheikah quickly added. “That was hot. Maybe we should kiss and make out sometime-”
“Aaliyah!” Came the indignant, scandalized shout. “Not in front of the boys, they might get jealous-”
This made the woman perk-up, “Say the word and they are gone-”
Sage turned around in exasperation. “I fight for your honor and this is the thanks I get?”
Aaliyah blinked for a second before shrugging. “I mean I can suck your dic-”
“OKAY-” Ceres quickly cut her off. “How far did you guys say Akkala was? Maybe one of the others already dropped there-”
Before Ceres could say anything more, the same sound from before warbled out. All eyes looked to the sky. There was another one of those damned portals, angry and red and glitching out around the edges. It was facing downwards towards them which could, really only mean good things. Ceres stepped to the closest person near them. Which happened to be the Sheikah- How was she always right next to her? The woman hummed, holding out an arm for Ceres to hook hers into. Well, she wasn’t gonna complain now that was for sure.
“Think something fun is gonna come out this time?” Aaliyah mused, her free hand resting on the hilt of her sword. “Or are we getting another cowboy?”
“Jokes on ya. There’s only one of me.” Twilight scoffed, his own weapon being drawn.
Sage huffed, sending Twilight a warning glare. His mouth opened only for something to fall right on top of him. There was a series of groans at the action as the blond fell like a sack of bricks. Yet another blond on top of him.
“I’m betting twenty rupees that guy’s name is also Link.” Aaliyah blurted.
“I am not taking that bet, because I already know it is.” Ceres added, looking between Aaliyah and the pile of flailing arms and legs on the ground. “Welcome to paradise, Legend.”
“Excuse me?” Sage stood closer to Legend.
“Legend? What kind of stuck up pretentious name is that?” The Sheikah laughed, shaking her head. The legs finally fell to the ground, rising to their feet as they glared at each other.
“It’s my name, fucking thank you.” Legend hissed out, shooting a glare at the Sheikah.
Legend looked up at his face, close enough to feel the others heat radiating off of him. “Did I fucking stutter?”
Ceres sighed, rolling her eyes. “Can all of you knock it off for fuck’s sake?!”
Legend finally took note of his surroundings at Ceres’s voice, releasing Sage’s shirt from his fist and making his way to her. “Squirrel? You’re here too?”
“Squirrel-” Aaliyah snapped at Sage before he could finish that, grabbing his arm and pulled him away from the growing scene. He grumbled his whole way out of the clearing.
“I’m so glad you’re here! We all got separated in the portal.” Legend grabbed her hands in both of his.
“I’m here too. Things are a bit rough right now.” Twilight spoke up, coming up behind Legend.
“Did I fucking ask?”
“Look, just ‘cause ya got into a fight with Sage don’t mean you gotta be fightin’ me too.” Twilight put his hands in the air.
“You have been in a nonstop constant fight with other Sage since you showed up, Twi.” Ceres rolled her eyes, again.
“That ain’t mean he’s gotta be goin’ at it too.” Twilight turned and went a bit away so Legend and Ceres could speak.
Legend shook his head. If nothing else, the cowboy had enough emotional intelligence to know when to give someone space. Even if his regular I.Q. was fighting for its life. “I cannot explain how much a relief it is to see you.” He hummed, reached a hand to cup her jaw. She leaned into, forehead falling to rest on his. “You’re telling me.”
He hummed softly, relishing in the feeling of her. The warmth she provided and the light she carried so naturally. “So…Who were the other two?”
Ceres blinked before her eyes snapped wide open. “Shit-” She paused before giving a heavy exhale. “This is their world they’re…probably fine. Those were Aaliyah and Sage…Well, her Sage. Not ours. Acts the same though.” She huffed. “Aaliyah seems okay though…Maybe a little more than okay. She’s been helpful…” Was the loosest term she could use. Who knew if the Sheikah could still hear her? That was not a risk she was willing to take.
“They’re willing to help us-”
“They helped enough. They brought you back to me-us. We don’t need their half-assed help any more.” Legend hissed with another shake of his head. “This Sage and whatever else fucking versions of him there are can go fuck right off.”
“They’re trying to help us, Legend.” They tightened the grip she had on his hands. “I’ve been with them for three days now and everything has been perfectly fine. We wouldn’t have found you without their help.”
“They’re probably just making you comfortable before they take you out, Ceres.”
“Why would they want to take me out?! I haven’t done anything to them, they don’t even know who I am.”
Legend sighed, “Why don’t you trust me on this?”
“You really want to talk to me about trust?” They pulled their hands from his, letting them hang at her sides. “You really have a great track record with that.”
“Ceres-”
“No, these people were kind enough to take me in, feed me, help me. And you are saying all of these things when they can probably hear us. Do you know your way around Wild- Sage’s Hyrule?” When she didn’t get a response, she continued, “Yeah. That’s what I thought. Just accept the help.” She backed away from him, looking at the ground before making her way to join Twilight. Who was definitely pretending to not be listening.
He let out a low whistle once they got close enough. “Feeling okay?”
Ceres groaned. “Yes. No. I don’t know. Maybe when we get moving I’ll cool down.”
Twilight simply nodded, gently brushing back their bangs to press a kiss to their forehead. “It’s a stressful time right now, darling. We’re all on edge. Whether you wanna admit or not, those two probably aren’t helping things-”
“Not you too-”
“Not because they’re two halves of a whole twisted joke from Hylia. But because they’re new. And Legend doesn’t do well with new. Makes him kinda…bitchy.” Twilight cocked a grin. Ceres huffed again. Was that the word they were using now?
Shaking her head she gently pressed a kiss to Twilight’s chin before moving along. Aaliyah had dragged Sage this way and she knew if they didn’t start moving they’d be caught in the dark. Legend was already struggling with these two and she didn’t wanna strain whatever possible relationship was there by making him trust them on nightly watch.
True to her intuition, there was the Sheikah and Sage. He was sitting on the ground, holding her in his lap with his head on her chest. His ear was laid just under her collarbone, eyes closed as she ran careful fingers through his hair. Her own eyes were closed as she leaned her chin on his head.
Her ears twitched in recognition of the footsteps nearing, reassuring Ceres that she wouldn’t get stabbed. Which was nice. She preferred their body in one piece.
Yellow eyes peaked open as Aaliyah watched Ceres inch close before pressing a kiss to the blond locks. “I love you, but you gotta get up now.”
Sage groaned, eyes scrunching before he stood, Sheikah still held securely in his arms. “There ‘m up. Less’go.”
Ceres smiled lightly at the sight before turning her back to them, letting them have the last bit of their moment. “I’m sorry for all of… that. I know it wasn’t pretty to listen to.”
Aaliyah shrugged them off, still holding onto Sage. She planted a small kiss to his forehead before pulling away from him with a groan of protest. “It certainly wasn’t. Are you alright?”
Ceres was taken aback by the sudden worry for their wellbeing. “I- uh-”
Aaliyah walked passed them before she could respond. “Since you are, lets get a move on. We need to hurry to make it before dark.” They nodded, following behind her and infront of Sage. Legend and Twilight stood together in the middle of the clearing.
“We all set ‘n ready to go?” Twilight attached himself to Ceres’s side before they could wander off with the Sheikah.
Aaliyah nodded, “After that little fiasco, it’s time to get going.” Sage made his way to Aaliyah’s side, settling into their rhythm of quiet or wordless communication. Legend fell into place behind the group, claiming he was ‘keeping watch of the weak spot’ but they all knew he was just paranoid.
<><><><>
Eldin was next, with its spits of fire and lava, and the Gorons mining away. It was rhythmic and steady, something trained through years of hard work.  Aaliyah and Sage lead the way effortlessly, almost as if they had been born and raised in these looping roads. Minecarts rattled above them, dropping bits of coal with every harsh turn.
“-We can drop them off at Rollin’ Inn and go check out the mines-”
“-Are you kidding? And leave them with what? A packet of rocks and a stick and hope that keeps them entertained?”
Sage shrugged, a dumb smirk plastered on his even dumber face. “There’s three of them there, surely they can find ways to entertain themselves either with each other or-”
“And I’m cutting the train of thought off right there.” Aaliyah scoffs, pushing his face away with a barely concealed grin. He chuckled at the action before catching her hand and using it to pull her closer. “It’s like free babysitting!”
“Uhm…” A small voice called out for a second, making both turn. Ceres was watching them intently, eyes darting between them. “What’s next?”
They exchanged a silent look for a second, Sage shrugging while Aaliyah sighed. “Look, if one of your friends is gonna be here, they’re gonna be down in the old Rock Roast mines. But you guys don’t have the equipment to go down there and we don’t have the patience to get you all your own. So, you’re gonna stay back here while we go look-”
Bailey’s turn :D bitch boy
“But I don’t want to stay. I want to go searching with you two.” They let their shoulders slump forward. “They won’t know who you two are, I or one of us should go with.”
Sage shook his head, “No, they will know me. So that’s fine.”
Ceres practically stomped their foot, “Please? I won’t get in the way.”
Aalyiah would have considered the act childish, if not a bit cute in a way, if she was not trying to put herself in explicit danger. “Ceres, we said no. That’s final.” She walked past her into the inn. Explaining that they needed rooms for the group.
Legend came up next to them, “I hate to admit that she’s right, but she’s right. We should stay here and work on a plan.”
“A plan for what, Legend?” Ceres shot back, not even giving him a glance in his direction. “Gonna kill them too?”
“Are you- Ceres.” Twilight grabbed Legend’s shoulder, as Ceres walked up to the desk to join Aaliyah. “Stay out of this, rancher.”
“Kinda hard to when ya got the attention of the whole inn.” He released the others shoulder, “We really have been alrigh’ even before ya got here, Vet. Things are alrigh’.”
Legend smacked his lips, “Something is off.”
“Ya always think somethin’ off.” He rolled his eyes. “But the only thing that’s off was the portal behavin’ all cattywampus.”
Legend gave him a look for the langue but nothing else, instead taking the room key from Aaliyahs hand before she could give it to him and heading down the hall.
“He’s a pleasant one.” She spoke up, shoving the other key into her pocket.
“We’ll be back before too long, before nightfall at the very least. The inn will provide you with cookware and a fire, but other than that you’re on your own.” The Sheikah shook her head, reaching for her tablet. In a flash an assortment of ingredients popped out, to which were handed to the rancher. “I’m sure you have some level of basic cooking skills? These will get you through the day before we return.”
Aaliyah paused for a second, brows furrowing before she was scratching the back of her neck and replacing her tablet on her hip, instead digging into a satchel on her hip. She hesitated for a second before grabbing one of Ceres’ hands and holding it between her own. Her ears lowered and flickered for a second, piercings clinking together before Aaliyah was dropping smooth and thin into her hands. “I-...I know this whole situation has put you in a weird position. And I know that while you may not like it, you staying here is for your safety above all else. I know what's down there and how to handle it, but you do not.” Ceres opened her mouth to protest before Aaliyah shook her head. “Besides the point. This, right here, is a travel medallion. If you desperately need us, throw it to the ground and it’ll alert us that it has been placed. We- I’ll be there within seconds.”
Ceres swallowed before Aaliyah was dropping her hands and turning to Sage, who had just finished handing over a handful of rupees. The Sheikah waved at the brunette, who clutched her closed fist to her chest, giving a shy and slow wave at the other’s retreating form. The disk felt cool to the touch in her hands.
“Okay. I will.” Was all that they could get out as the couple walked towards the center of town. Twilight draped his arm over her shoulders.
“Lets go find the room, yeah?” She nodded, following with him down the hall. Legend had, conveniently, left the door open for them to find him. In the middle of the room was one oversized bed. It made sense with them being among the Gorons. She sat at the end of it, feet swinging awkwardly at the tension in the room.
“Look, I know we’re all stressed right now, but bein’ like this ain’t gonna fix nothin’.” Twilight waved his hands between the two of them.
“He’s on his shit, Twi. I’m not gonna deal with it right now. That’s a tomorrow problem.” Ceres leaned down to unlace her boots.
“Oh, so I’m a problem now?” Legend’s venomous words shot in her direction.
She sat back up, loose laces falling around boots. “When you show up and problems immediately start? Yeah! You’re causing problems!”
Twilight sighed, getting onto one knee and taking their boots into his hands. She looked down at him for a moment before turning their head back to Legend.
“I’m tired of this, Legend. We shouldn’t be arguing like this, not with everyone missing.”
“You’re the one starting fights!” He exploded, standing from his chair so fast that it fell to the ground behind him.
Ceres flinched backwards at the yelling and metal hitting the stone ground. Twilight rubbed her knee lightly before pulling the boot off and putting it next to him.
“Legend, lower your voice. Ya know better than that.” Twilight barely looked up to the shorter man before starting on the other boot.
“You know that this fighting isn’t necessary.” He said in a quieter, but none the less aggressive tone.
“Actually I think it’s well warnented. We never resolved all of that.”
Legend flinched back for a second before rubbing his hands along the bridge of his nose and scrubbing his face up and down. “Look, Ceres, you have to understand. I did it to protect you. Everything I ever do is for you.” His hands flew out in a wild gesture. “I would never purposefully do anything to upset you-”
“But it did. And you knew it would.” They shot back. Somewhere in the back of their mind, the reminder of the medallion rang out. She shook her head. “...What is it against them that you have issues with? They haven’t done anything to you.”
Legend’s face turned pleading. “What have they done for you for you to be so on their side? You’ve seen how Sage acts. You’ve seen what he’s capable of-”
“This isn’t him!” Ceres snapped suddenly. Suddenly enough even Twilight stopped from his place knelt before her. Her hands fiddled in front of her, toying with the silvery blue gift. Yes, they shared the same voice and face and ideologies. But they weren’t the same. Ceres knew this almost intimately so. There was one glaring difference with this Sage and her own. “He’s not…like our Sage. He has something he’s fighting for. Something he’s put his faith in and it hasn’t immediately been spat on. He has…He has his person.”  Like Sun was to Sky, or Ravio to Legend, this Sage had found his counterpart- no, his soulmate and was someone entirely different yet intimately familiar all the same.
Silence fell around them for a second before Ceres continued.
“You should see the way she looks at her. Like she’s the stars, sun and moon all in one. Like the goddesses themselves put her here just for him and he’s going to make sure there’s not a second that goes by where he doesn’t think that. The way he holds her is just so-...It’s not like our Sage at all.” Ceres huffed at last, a pout on their lips. “Like how you or Twilight or Hyrule hold me at night, or the way Wild watches me like I’ll disappear. Or how Wars and Sky treat me like glass because to them, I’m irreplaceable-”
“You are.” Legend choked out.
“But that’s just it. This Sage won’t do anything because we’re just as dangerous to him as he is to us. Only in a completely different way. He doesn’t care what happens to himself, as long as she remains safe. And we pose a threat to her the entire time we’re here.” Ceres patted the spot next to her as Twilight took the other side. Legend slowly crept over to it, leaning his shoulder on her once he was close enough. She hummed, running a hand along his thigh. “They mean you no harm as long as you bring none. This Sage’s priorities are different. Give him a bit of slack, yeah?”
Legend didn’t say anything, instead reaching up to squeeze her hand. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Legend.”
The cold medal medallion grew warmer in her hand as she turned it over.
“We should just ditch them.” Sage put his hands behind his head as they walked into the mine.
Aaliyah hit the back of his head, “We are not doing that.” He groaned.
“But why?! They have not one, but two Links to help her now. Why can’t we just go home?!
Aaliyah shot him a look as she lit her torch. “Would you just leave me to fend for myself?”
“What does that have to do with anything?” He stopped in his tracks and watched her walk ahead a few more before turning to face him. “You know I wouldn’t do that to you, snowdrop.”
“Then keep walking.” She went back tracing the walls with her free hand as they made their way deeper into the cave.
“Do you really think someone is down here?”
“Only one way to find out.” She grumbled as they entered a larger room. “Hello?” She asked out in a quiet tone.
“HELLO?! ANYONE HERE?!” Sage cupped his hands over his mouth as he shouted.
Aaliyah hit him again, “Be quiet, idiot! You may cause a cave in!”
“You weren’t saying that last time we were here and you were throwing bombs around like candy.”
“And you weren’t letting up with your loud ass last time either.”
“As I remeber it, you were the one screaming my name.”
“Enough.” She hissed out, turning the torch to the middle of the room.
Just as he went to retort, their ears flickered at the sounds of steps behind them.
Note
Is your oc gonna be a rito? Or a hylian with wings? (I think you mentioned a winged oc but I forgot 😅)
I'm thinking of maybe something different but probably Hylian, though I'm thinking more of a guardian and was always in the stories just never seen and was a background character that looked after all of the Links but they don't know them 👀👀✨💖
Like a being made by Hylia or perhaps they're not connected to Hyrule at all and somehow Dink made a mistake and his portal malfunctioned and landed elsewhere and the oc may be a hero in disguise where they're from (probably our time and has wings they can summon and is a superhero that's not well known) and went through the portal and landed up in Hyrule 👀💗
------------
Sky sighed as the group finally found a good spot to set up camp for the night. They have been walking for about half a day, they all woke up, got ready and then headed out around sunrise much to the dismay of the hero of the wind. Sky smiled a bit. He's been traveling with this group of heroes for a few months now and everyday was full of surprise to say the least. One day Sailor and Champion are messing with Korok leaves, the next they’re all fighting groups of monsters. Sky looks over at the rest of the group, smithy was frustrated because Champion broke another sword , the old man was leaning against a tree observing the rest of the heroes. He may look relaxed but he's constantly on guard from what sky knows, the eldest hero gave sky a small nod of acknowledgement. The rest of the group was cooking, setting up camp or just got back from checking the perimeter of the area they’ll be making camp in for the night.
Sky needed to give his feet a break so he sat on a nearby log, today so far hasn't been very interesting and honestly that concerned him. They had no idea where they were and that means they have no idea what dangers lurk in this forest. Taking Fi off of his back he decides to clean her a bit , she needs it after the past few days of fighting monsters. The group was quiet for once , all nine of them doing their own thing. It was like this for about half an hour before something happened. The silence was broken when the Veteran pointed out that a portal just appeared a few feet away from the main part of the campsite. Not knowing if it was the shadow or the mailman the party of nine got ready for anything. Yet what came out of it was something they would have never expected.
What came out of or rather what was thrown through the portal was a hylian. They looks to be around Champion's height, and had a similar build maybe a bit slimmer. From what Sky could tell they had short dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. They were in a cream shirt, with brown pants and boots of a darker shade. Around their waist was a belt that held something that looked a lot like the slate Champion has. On their back was a shield that there weren't using and a sheath to the broad sword they were using. despite getting thrown they very quickly regained their composure, but they weren't the only thing that came out. What came out after them was a giant beast, more specifically a silver lynel.The nine got their weapons ready to help out but before they could the mystery hylian quickly rushed at it easily dodging its attacks. They slashed at its knees and brought it down. As quickly as they could they hopped onto its back and began plugging their sword into the spot with its neck and back met. Unfortunately they weren't ankle to kill it like that, the lynel quickly got up and almost knocked the person off of its back. They held onto their swords hilt in order to stay on, the beast was thrashing around and that's where it messed up. The hylian used the momentum of it thrashing to their advantage, using all of their strength they pulled their sword out of its neck getting its bloody on them and quickly jabbed their sword into its underbelly. The hylian got out from under the beats and fell to the ground before slowly getting up; they were exhausted , and in pain.
The old man narrowed his eyes and had his sword pointed at them and slowly walked towards them. He couldn’t tell their gender right away but they appeared to be more feminine in appearance. The look on his face told them a clear message, and that message was a warning one that said if they tried anything it would be their last mistake. The others were in various states of shock they couldn't believe what just went down in such a short time span. The youngest of the group was standing wide eyed and in awe , he quickly regained his composure. Sailor and the rest of the group had no idea if they were an enemy or an ally yet. Hes hoping they’re an ally, the group could use another swordsmen like them.The shortest of the group walks over to the fallen lynel and inspects it making sure it’s dead these days they couldn't be too sure if something was truly dead or not. Smithys mind was exploding with questions. Taking a deep break he calms himself and notices something about the beast's blood. It was black, showing it was corrupted. He looked over his shoulder to look at the person who killed the lynel.Champion was grinning like a child during the winter festival. This person got launched through a portal by a lynel and didn’t stop till it was dead! And a silver one at that! This person is the same breed of crazy as him! He gave them a quick look over and his grin turned to a look of shock. They had something on their body he recognized and now his mind was full of “how did they get that”s,“who exactly are they?”s and “are we connected”s.
Both Captain and Traveler ran up to this person to check for injuries. The Captain’s questions were bordering the lines of actually being concerned and integrating them. “Where are you from and why did you come through that portal fighting that?” Before he could get a response the Traveler shoved him out of the way “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING TAKING ON A LYNEL BY YOURSELF! YOU COULD HAVE DIED!” Traveler was quickly checking them for any injuries. He did in fact find some, mostly close calls with the beats blade and a few broken arrows.Traveler healed what he could before the captain made him stop and look at their appearance closer. This wasn't a swordsman, it was a swordswoman. The veteran was just staring , he’s been put into a state of pure shock. He easily could tell that she’s a woman, and a strong one at that. He has to admit that has to be one of the coolest things he’s ever seen but that doesn't mean he’ll trust her. For all they could know she's an enemy and was sent here to kill them. Yet there's something about her that seems familiar.
Twilight stood there with a look of shock that quickly faded to suspicion ,due to how his secret affects him he knows she’s a she. He slowly starts walking over to her, a million questions are running through his head, ones similar to the others. Yet he had to give her some props and she took down that beast on her own. It was something three times her size, and she was fighting it even before she got thrown. Those monsters aren't easy to take down, he's seen Champion get nearly killed by them, he himself has almost gotten killed by them. He never took his eyes off of her, while she didn't seem like a threat but looks can be extremely deceiving.
Sky walks over to where the small crowd has formed “give them some space.” His voice was firm yet calm. “Look how overwhelmed they are. I apologize for the bombardment of questions.But i'm sure you can understand why we’re being cautious. It's not everyday we see someone emerge from a portal fighting a beast that big. I’m link- well rather all of us are but you can call me sky. Do you when the portal opened near you or why?’” The girl just stares with disbelief, shock and awe in her eyes. Quickly putting her sword away she begins to sign “ I don't know. Also a portal? Is that what I got thrown through?” She's extremely confused but she's hiding it with wariness. “Where am i? And how are you all here??”Sky looks at her confused “you know who we are?“ The girl gives a curt nod “ you’re all heroes of the past. The ones who I walk the same path as.” Veteran squints at her and asks the next question. " We barely knew who the others were. How do you know who we are?" Champion nods in agreement before looking over the damage to lynel from the sidelines.
It's clear that they don't have the same technique. But maybe he should ask her how she did it. It would be useful back home, and maybe he can teach her his if they come across another one and she's an ally. The old man puts his sword down but the look stays. "Chosen by the goddesses and burdened with the same glorious purpose? Do you bear the mark?" The girl nods before removing her right fingerless glove, she holds her hand up for the group of nine to see. Right there on the back of her hand was the mark of the hero. The triforce of courage. Once they all got a good look at it she put her glove back on “there's your proof, i'm no enemy just another unfortunate person with the biggest job in history.” The veteran scoffed “we don't truly know that just yet. Last time I checked, the hero wasn't a woman. You could be lying to us. You also didn't answer my question.” The veteran walked up to the girl, given she was the same height as the Champion he glared up at her and she glared back. She looks at Sky, her glare is gone when looking at him but she's still being stoic “may i see her? The sword? It's the only way I can think of to fully prove that I'm one of you guys. After all only the hero can hold her or in this case heroes” Sky is a bit wary at first but he obliges , taking the master sword out of her sheath he hands it to her. Carefully taking the sword in her right hand . She looks at it with a softer look and in response the sword glows a bit as if it's saying hello to an old friend.
The nine heroes just stare a bit, that hammered the nail into place, the sword proved she's not lying. The girl hands the sword back to sky, and right after she does Traveler speaks up “now that's done and over with can i finish healing her up? She still has some bruising and small open wounds. We can finish interrogating her as I'm patching her up.” Traveler gently grabs her wrist and leads her to a log before making her sit and he gets to work. The others follow to get their questions answered. "I’ll answer the question the one in red asked me. I know who you all are because I had to learn about you and what heroic deeds you did for hyrule and its people. The castle archives in my hyrule has decent records of everyone of you and the important people of your adventures. As the current hero, his majesty made me study every text and journal about you guys or written by you. Next question I'll answer are the ones I was asked by the one in the blue scarf.Im from hyrule and I got tossed like a rag doll through the portal. Now for the healer's questions I wanted to take the lynel down because I wanted to blow off some steam and it was getting too close to where a village was located. Also I usually take them down by myself, but for some reason this one was as strong as a golden lynel for some reason.”
“You fight them to blow off steam?!?” Sailor was flabbergasted “you might be a really good fighter to do that, but that makes sense like the rest of us you took down Ganon” the sailor walks closer to her “was yours a pig like veterans and travelers? Or was he a gorudo like the rest of ours?” The girl's shoulders drop “I don't know yet. He's yet to show up but time is ticking before he does. So I have to get home fast.” No one wanted to bring up the ganon thing so Champion asked the next question“ why do you have a sheikah slate?” The girl smirked a bit “because i'm the chosen knight and was raised by the sheikah chieftess ,also I kind of need it to get into shrines and help the rest of the champions out when needed.Oh and to hold my gear” Champion gave a look of fair enough but that just confirms she's connected to him.
“Okay my turn. Who are you and who taught you how to fight?” The old man finally spoke up and walked closer to her and squats to be face to face with her. She knows he's trying to intimate her and unlucky for the old man it doesn't work. “I was trained by the best knights of the royal guard ,making me a knight. I was also raised by the sheikah chieftess who trained me since I was five. I've had other teachers as well but only for short amounts of time and they were the chief of the ritto , the chieftess of the gorudo and the king of the zora.” the older hero squinted at her, she was telling the truth but she left out something. He could sense it and for once he was hoping he was wrong “you didn't tell us who you are.” she smirks “sure i did, im his majesty's chosen knight.” he scowled “i mean your name.” she grins mischievously “since you all share a name and go by nicknames i'll go by one as well, it's only fair. You can call me Dame, for it's the term for a woman who was knighted.”
Sky could tell having her come along would make things very interesting. That was enough questions for now the others can wait. This girl Dame is something else and maybe what the group of nine needed. He hopes at least.
LINK has always been rather thin. That was especially the case when he was a child. Something about a Kokiri child's diet not fitting what a Hylian needed always kept him frail.
When you both were children, he had quickly gotten used to you plucking his arm when it was idle to compare his lack of fat to your surplus.
(He never minded. He always looked forward to being reminded why he put one foot in front of the other every day during his fight against Ganon, or repeated cycle after cycle when it came to Majora.)
(Funnily enough, you had always made fun of him for being shorter than you as a child as well. You always mentioned he needed to drink more milk and eat more cuccos so he'd one day pass you.)
It was when you were able to cook more than simple meals and wouldn't risk burning down your cottage that you would invite (force) Link over more often than you already have.
Link had always tried to limit his visits to when he absolutely needed to. Free food, bed, shelter, care, supplies, clothes, bathes (the list was endless), and whatnot were always appreciated, but he never wanted to become to comfortable lest he wake up one day (or night. Or afternoon. His internal clock was always ruined when it came to sleeping at your cabin) and decide not return to the world outside.
He does his best to turn down any seconds, or thirds, or fourths, or fifths, and so on you may offer him when he does stay long enough for you to finish whatever extravagant meal you made just for him.
Past experiences often make him sick (with trauma or physically) and result in him vomiting his food, but there's always more from you to replace what he had just eaten and the meal before (if he remembered to eat it).
What he can't finish at the table (or on the sofa, or in the bed), he takes with him when he leaves. Link is respectful in all meanings of the word and hates to leave anything to waste.
When it comes to thanks, he either finds ways to help around your cottage or brings back items from new regions for you to cook. Whether it be repairing the busted bathroom door you've been complaining about before fixing your water faucet so the pressure is what you want it to be, or bringing back a spice the Gorons specialize in you've mentioned wanting to try, Link typically feels his gifts fall lackluster when compared to your treatment of him.
(He trusts your skill and creativity enough to know you won't poison him on accident. He never brings back any recipes or instructions either if it's not a dangerous material.)
(He's always excited to try whatever new dish you've concocted, so his only condition is that you wait for his return to cook whatever it is he brought you. "A celebration, of sorts," he calls it.)
A look in a lone puddle had told him his cheeks had gotten fatter. He supposes he now understands why he was refused entry into one of the pubs when he had to retrieve Malon and Cremia's uncle.
He had noticed that the details of his arms were less visible through his shirts when a Goron had pinched one,— not in the same way you did when you were younger— he had mentioned that he had an amount of muscle and fat to be proud of before asking him to join a tournament. Any attempts prior to were quickly shut down.
During a day of horseback archery with the Gerudo, the sweltering sun had gotten to him enough that he had to remove his tunic and the shirt underneath to feel some sort of relief. One of the women who were training him took a look at his stomach and nodded approvingly, mentioning that he should praise his soon-to-be spouse for feeding him so well.
The last nail in the coffin came when he was riding Epona into Castle Town. His tunic felt uncomfortably small and his tights (curse those damned tights) felt as thought they were stretched more across the expanse of his thighs than they usually were.
He's back in your cottage when he finally vocalizes his thoughts, preferring you to any other tailor or seamstress in the country. "I've gotten to big for my clothes," he either sighs or signs to you while eating. His gaze held a thousand yards in them, idly watching his clothes move with the wind.
The tunic, hat, tights, boots hang outside the window on a string connected to your shed. They had to be washed after a (admittedly well-planned— even if they don't think) ambush by a hoard of chu-chus.
You throw a hazy look to them before returning to the bowl you were tirelessly mixing. You were making dinner, he thinks, or maybe it was in preparation for the big breakfast you were making with the variety of bread from the Gerudo he brought back.
You'd already given him a large snack earlier.
The thought makes him look down at the plate in his lap. Every spot of it was filled and piled with bread, and eggs, and meats, and jams. He couldn't see the white bottom of it even as he pushed and prodded around.
He takes a bite of it gratefully.
"I saw you before you left not even three days ago. You fit everything fine enough to me." At some point you had stopped stirring and held the bowl out to him. Link grabs something off the plate and dips it in without a thought, eating it before responding with a hum of approval. "I can make adjustments to then, if you'd like."
You leave the bowl with him before attending to something on the stove.
"Please," he responds, halfway through another bite of the (what he now recognized as) Gerudo bread and cocoa dip you had made. "Different pants would be nice, though. It'd be a nice excuse to finally get rid of those tights." Both tasted sweet by themselves, he realized, but left a calmer aftertaste that he'd like to savor.
"You've always hated the tights," you hum in response, moving from the stove to the coolers that he'd built you after bringing you a large fish that only lived in Zora's Domain. "What would you want to move on to now? Leggings? Shorts?"
Link watches you remove a pitcher from one of the coolers. He isn't sure how long it's been in there (he doesn't even remember watching you make it), but he assumes you took some ice out so the pink liquid wouldn't freeze over into complete ice.
He watches you try to take a cup from one of the cupboards, watching you struggle to grab his favorite one from the higher shelves.
He stands from the chair sat just outside the kitchen (he liked to watch you cook when you had the time), placing the bowl and plate on one of the many cleared counters (you liked to clean as you worked), and grabs the cup for you.
Link lowers his head with his hand when he hands the cup off, head resting upon the crown of yours as he watches you pour the pink liquid into it, idle arms wrapping around your waist as he makes some slick comment about eating enough milk and cuccos for your liking.
You don't elbow him in the stomach like you might have when you were younger and he doesn't hold the cup above your head teasingly like when he was younger to (— then again, he had to climb a counter to get it out of your reach.)
Instead, you wordlessly pass the cup back to him and he wordlessly drinks it despite not knowing what it was.
He likes it, as he does all your works, and notes how it was both sweet and sour. A taste that fills both his childhood need for sweet all the time and his older palate's need for other tastes.
Handing the cup back, Link tilts his head so he can press a kiss to your crown. "Anything you'd think I'd look good in," he finally responds, the flavor of the moment leaving a tooth-achingly sweet taste on his tongue.
ARAM is often humbled in your abode.
He may have acted arrogant to others in his younger years and horrifyingly aloof now that he's a more seasoned god, but he never failed to (willingly) crumble to his knees when in your presence during either times of his life.
He had no need for the sustenance mortals require, prayers and whispers of his name were always good enough for him, but he'd kiss the ground you walk on if it meant you'd bless him with another food you've created (he already does).
Aram is the provider to your fire-lit home, an arrangement the two have been living by for as long as he can remember.
He is the sword to your shield. The arrow to your quiver. The moon to ever burning sun (which he did create for you, after all). The wound for your gauze. The life to your world— and one cannot live peacefully without the other.
Your food had quickly become an addiction to Aram. He'd eat as much as often as he could, giving little response to when questioned why he loves it so much.
("Because it comes from your hands," he once explained hours later when you were sleeping. "Your hands, that create all. That nourish all it touches and replenishes all that is extinct. I am your antithesis, and I must destroy that which I love."
(You never had the heart to ask again.)
He has enough sense to slow his eating around you. One concerned comment about him choking was enough for him to indulge in needless your wishes, but a question regarding its taste had him eating like a mortal.
His relationship with food prior to getting hooked onto yours was brief and filled with obligation. He never ate to feel full, only to make the people he was fighting with shut up and leave him out of whatever conversation they were having.
It never lingered in his stomach like a warm fireplace that others had described it as. It never made him warm and filled with love. It never gave him the energy he needed to keep fighting.
It just went through his digestive tract (why did he even have one?) and disappeared like an heavy smog finally dispersed by a strong gust of wind before he had to fight again.
When a war was over, you always came. You took the battle-shaken soldiers away when it was their time and healed their ailments if they were able to withstand everything. You went through war-stricken cities and set everything as they should have been. You feed and clothe and bandage and sew and reunite and Aram isn't sure why he lingered.
He's seen the effects of what you can do long after you've left. He knows of the good you're capable of doing just as much as he knows the bad he can cause.
He craves your touch when he sees it at its peak. He indulges himself when he sees it first-hand.
Aram understands what the soldiers mean when you beckon him closer and offer him food, uncaring of how he stands tall above all else.
The soup warms his insides. The flavor resides on his tongue hours after he's finished it. His energy, though far from depleted, had made him feel as though he were a youngling again.
He craves more.
The addiction to your presence and your food (and subsequently, you) had started then. It's an event he could easily recall when asked, one he would happily recount to you if you ever forgot where his devotion to you started.
Meeting after a war or battle had become frequent enough that he had finally learned your name; not some silly alias those who followed you often referred to you as. He felt like one of those lovesick children soldiers talk about, tripping over himself and his words.
He's curious to you, an admirer more than a stalker, fortunately. When he wasn't on the battlefront, he was always hovering around as you worked, busying his hands with whatever task you've given him after noticing his lack of mortality.
You treated him well; doing so even after the era of wars were long gone and he was seldom needed. You cared for him as though he were one of the many wounded soldiers with no family to return to once all was done and said— and to an extent, he was.
He's eating when you bring attention to his softer thigh.
You were reading to him, a romantic thriller that held as much of his attention that your captivating voice did. His gaze focused heavily on you, watching as you lick your lips after each page, how your eyes rake over the page to ensure the tone you speak the next sentence in is correct. He notes how you shift less often, how he doesn't have to move you further up his lap so you can lean against his stomach.
"It's not as painful to sit on you anymore." Aram doesn't think that line was in the book, but he doesn't mention it. It dawns that you were talking to him when you look up, using your finger as a bookmark as you closed the book around it. "Have you gained weight?"
He's a big man; it's a fact he's known since the beginning of his existence. He has large arms, muscles well know for how he snatched prey up to bring back to you. His height made it a simple feat to reach into the trees and capture any avian you wanted to experiment with that night. His legs that would stomp on any fish swimming downstream during a day at the lake you suggested.
He was sculpted by the Goddesses themselves. If they hadn't meant for his body to change along with his lifestyle, they wouldn't have designed him to dough.
(He'd never be ashamed in the fact either. He was contented knowing he had someone to dote over him constantly; a sentiment he had gained after recalling a conversation with wedded soldiers.)
(Also, the prospect of defacing what the Goddesses had long since disgraced was exciting, in a way.)
Aram doesn't look at himself, already well-acquainted with his body as his brow raises in amusement. "You feed me well, My Grace," he responds with a peck on your temple, "I would hope to become more comfortable for your pleasure." He refused to stop eating as he indulged you in conversation, the leg you sat on jumping once in place of his busy hands.
You hum that sweet, quiet hum of yours that Aram has come to associate with your contentedness (he aimed to hear to several tomes every day). Removing yourself from his lap, discarding the novel to the side as you raise your hands to cup his cheeks. "It suits you. You look healthy. Happy."
"Did I look ill before?"
You don't fluster as you might have like in your younger years. He's honored to have grown alongside you, reminiscent of the older couples you've both watched and escorted when he was still an active god.
The same filling feeling your food gives him fills his heart. The lingering sense of peace that he felt since meeting you dancing through his body when your thumbs rub the apples of his cheeks, the softest and fondest gaze anyone's ever given him in your eyes.
"No," you answer in a quiet voice only he'd be able to hear. "Never. You've always looked perfect."
And Aram has never been more thankful that he separated himself from the Goddesses as he preens under your touch. Never been more thankful that he lingered after the war was done. Never been more thankful that he had readjusted his psyche to more readily accept your gifts and affection.
He frees a hand to cradle to back of your head, a threat to all that aren't you, and brings you beneath his chin in a protective gesture. "As have you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. "And as you always will be."
Chapter 5: Explaining a Mark
Warrior shakes his head. "Nonsense. Cia has been wanting me to claim her since we first met. Let her be lost to her own mind. I just want you."
There’s a knock at the door.
Enno hid themselves into Warriors more before realizing they should be the one to get the door.
“I’ll get up.” They said, not really wanting to face anyone right now but he is the injured party.
Warrior growls before they leave his grasp entirely, falling back into a whine. "Enno, it's fine."
They open the door and it’s Lana.
"I came as soon as I heard-" She gasps, borderline screaming. "Oh my - in! In, in, in, in!!"
She charges forward, pushing Enno through. "I knew Cia used a transmutation spell. But I couldn't figure out what."
She spins and yells out the door to some poor sap on the other side. "Call Zelda, it's urgent!"
Warrior huffs from the bed but he seems more relieved than before.
“Um…” Enno stood aside, wanting to  stay out of sight of the people outside. “We called you for him instead of me but I’m happy about getting both over with.” They point at Warriors and his wing, wanting nothing more than to just go back and curl underneath him. “Do you mind if I just… go back to hiding until Zelda comes around?”
They shift awkwardly, completely ignoring to ask about their own health.
Lana pauses and looks at Warrior before folding over. She looks like she's going to vomit.
"Yeah..." She coughs. "I'll get right on it. For both of you."
She starts rummaging through her spell book, a knock at the door coming only a few minutes later.
Lana goes to open in and the Queen storms in. "I came as soon as I heard what seems to be the prob- gasp"
Her eyes widened at the two of them, instantly filling with tears. "Oh no..."
Enno poked their head out from their hiding spot. They smile a bit tensely, not wanting to deal with the tense atmosphere. “Yeah so I played a dangerous game and won a dangerous prize. It seems like she not only reverted me back to how I was in my world but also made me into a dragon. Not to make things uh… more complicated but uh… how do I say this… in my normal body I have a medical condition? So while there isn’t a rush because I feel fine for some reason. I still don’t want this to be the full norm if I can’t at least go back to being human.”
“You say this now?” Lana pauses what she was doing, a little stressed as it is.
“I haven’t worried about it this whole adventure!” Enno clarified. “The Hylian body I got didn’t have it.”
Zelda curses but she pats down her dress and pulls back her hair. "I'm sure we can revert you back to your Hylian form... the dragon I'm afraid..."
"I can't find a way to undo it completely." Lana whines. "All I can do is give you a Hylian form to revert to but the dragon part will have to say."
She shuts her book. "I'll have to keep looking if we're going for something more permanent."
Warrior frowns and nuzzles Enno tenderly. "Just whatever it takes to undo as much damage as possible "
"Oh. Link..." Zelda gasps. "Your wing...."
He coughs. "Worth it."
“Not worth it Sir,” Enno flicked at his jaw lightly. “But basically no matter what I have to figure out what exactly is wrong with me again?”
They sighed wiggling out of the big bad dragon that they’ve been hiding under. “It’s a start.  Undoing it completely might not even be a thing.”
Their back still hurts a bit as they sit up, crossing their legs applesauce style.
“Hit me with it when you're ready.” Enno said, sighing and opening their arms, fully welcoming that it will hurt again.
Warrior nuzzles into their hip and rests next to them.
Zelda looks at Lana. They both share a look and turn to them, summoning their magic to their hands. They both hesitate for a moment before they fire.
While Cia's spell was hot, burning and tearing, this one is cold, freezing and it's as if all their joints have been glued together suddenly.
Still painful but arguably more bizarre.
Enno bit their tongue, trying their best to not scream. It happened anyway as things fell back into place. Their heart was pounding in their ears. They felt the blood rushing all over their head as if they had taken a hammer to their skull. They felt the vibration which comforted them to a degree but the pain was still there. When it was over, they collapsed. They took in shallow breaths but everything hurt. The best part was that they felt squishy again and there weren't any wings nor a tail on their back.
“Liiinkk” They slurred his name with a whine as they rolled to their side, blindly reaching for him. They’re freezing cold.
Warrior shakes himself off and suddenly becomes a furnace right next to them. He is incredibly warm as he cradles them into his side. "I'm here. I've got you."
Lana huffs put a breath. "I'll try to find a more permanent solution to the dragon side of it... But now, Link... we need to heal your wing."
Warrior grumbles but exposes the wound.
Lana looks through her book again with more practiced ease now that she knows what she's actually looking for. Zelda doesn't hesitate to chip in, the golden light from her hand cleaning up the blood and any impurities that might have formed in and around the wound.
When Lana finds the spell, her hand also begins to glow a faint blue and the wing starts to be reversed to its original condition.
"The Dragon Thing can wait. You guys have other things to focus on first. We still are going through this adventure." Enno slowly inched back into the hiding spot they were in. Everything was back to being super painful and super sore. They surprise themselves that they can still purr. "So what’s next?"
"What do you mean?" Lana asked while working on the wing.
"Cia. I doubt she is going to stop after today."
"We can keep her here." Lana sighed. "It's how we've been doing things so far."
"She would have kept the Hero of Time and the Hero of Wind's here since they came to this universe. Despite their significance back home, she wanted them to stay." Zelda crosses her arms, letting Lana take over the healing.
Warrior sighs in relief and tucks Enno in close. "We know how to deal with her. Between my claim on you and most of the heroes being together in one place might have set her over the edge. She's outnumbered anyway by people of equal strength."
"We'll do things as we always have." Lana frowns, a regretful smile on her face. "I'm sorry you got caught up on it."
"Eh. Don't worry about it too much. Not the first time I just got thrown into a weird situation." Enno isn’t taking this too seriously for their own sake. Humor helps the worry. "I'm probably gonna be careful and behave more though, just to not be too much of a bother."
They make note of the claim comment in the back of their head for now. They don't want to ask while Lana and Zelda are there. Just because this sounds like something they should ask in private.
"You could never be a bother." Warrior murmurs.
Lana sighs. "Still. We don't know the full effects of this. It's better to try and fix it before you go home."
Warrior huddles over Enno a little tighter.
Zelda hums, a soft smile on her face. "Well the major damage has been reversed. Link, I don't recommend any grandiose flying anytime soon. But it'll heal, even if it scars."
"Great, another one." Warrior huffs. "I'll look battle worn before I'm 200 if I keep this up."
Zelda laughs a bit. "All the more reason to keep you around. We could use someone like you to scare the younger ones into behaving."
"Har har." He huffs. But deep down it’s evident that he's just playing along.
"If it's all settled-" Zelda bows. "I'll take my leave."
"I'll come back to check up on the both of you." Lana nods to herself, marking something down in her book. "Just take it easy for a moment. Call again, if you need anything."
Warrior sighs. "Thank you Lana."
"Anythi-... Anytime Link."
Both girls leave the room.
"Byeeee, stay safe, love u both." Enno waves to Lana and Zelda. Waiting for a moment when the door closes, they crawl out from under Warriors and sit up straight, still sore. They hissed a bit, moving slower, but then went to sit on the top of the bed.
"Soooo what is this about a claim?" They move the cushions a little bit so it would be more comfortable sitting up.
Warrior shifts down this half form and sits crossed legged.
"Oh! Right, that was a thing I wanted to explain." He also hisses a bit when he has to shift his wings but otherwise he's just stiff. "Basically... I uhh.. wanted to be subtle. But a claim is a means of showing attention to those you consider your own. I wanted... I... got jealous.. and panicked when I saw you. I didn't want anyone else, dragon or not, to make a move before I could."
He blushes profusely but to his credit he stays in front of them, keeping eye contact. "I want to romance you..  I've wanted to for a while. But to make it clear to everyone else what my intentions were, I gave you the headband. Granted.. I probably could have done a smell claim, but humans don't smell as much as a dragon. I wanted you to at least understand the gesture when I came clean."
Warrior scratches behind his neck and bites his lip. "Cia knew. Because of course she does. She's been vying after my mother's headband for years. So she lost her mind when I chose you instead." He clears his throat. "Not that I think she would have kept her mind anyway. But it certainly didn't help matters."
Enno lets out a sigh as the tension starts to finally relax. They take in the information. "Is there any way she can swoop in and undermine the claim? Like she isn't a dragon but the anxious part of me wants to be prepared for like the worst case scenario here."
Warrior shakes his head. "I want you to be a part of my treasure. My heart and sole purpose of protection is bestowed upon you. It's my decision. Unless you reject me, Cia can't get rid of it. She can try to claim you too but I doubt she'd do that."
He places his fist against his cheeks and looks at them dreamily.  "There's no room for her here, between us. She has no say nor any power in this. That's why she's so pissed."
He smiles boyishly. "I bet with your dragon half, you can start claiming things too. We can piss her off some more by just giving you some of my stuff and she won't be able to do anything."
They squirm, not really knowing how to hide the blush and are a tad bit self conscious. "She's gonna realize what she did and freak out more. I would bet she is gonna try to undo it once it hits her."
They look up at him "I'm not worried about her getting in between us. I am worried about her forcing it. I don't know much about magic and really since the start of this it seems like you can literally do anything with it... but I would like to keep pissing her off. She's gonna have to learn about dealing with someone with 0 impulse control, I guess."
Warrior laughs, loud and unrestrained. "I knew you were a good choice."
He calms down. "She can probably try but dragon magic is deep rooted and ancient. There's very little anyone can do to stop it once in motion except for those that are involved. You're not marked yet, which is a permanent claim. Between people, it's akin to marriage I suppose. Life long partners in crime."
Warrior blushes a bit, becoming a bit shy and flustered. "She can't undo a simple claim. A mark… she would probably be able to look into undoing but it's too deep to dig out, if that makes sense. I wouldn't worry too much about it being tampered with."
"A... Mark..." Enno nodded, confused. "So like, is that like a bite on the neck like werewolves? Or like…” They can’t think of other examples. “And when will that happen during this relationship?"
"Um!" Warrior flushes a deeper color. "For dragons there's a small courting process but things move really quickly. I don't want to pressure you, especially since you don't know all the bell and whistles of dragon culture."
"A mark is typically a small exchange of each dragon's magic... if both parties are dragons anyway... Like tattoos on your DNA instead of the typical rings humans use. There's also visual symbolism, like the rings, that constitutes the same purpose. Those are typically used when one party isn't a dragon. Smells as well... but it's mostly used for claims since it doesn't really work for all races."
"Sounds se-" Enno stops themselves from making an inappropriate joke but they still snicker thinking about it. "You know I don't mind it. I'm pretty good with anything at this point. As long as there isn't that much pain to it."
 Something dawns on them. "The others are going to flip."
Warrior sits up as straight as a rod. "You.. um! Ok... Flip how?"
He starts off easy. "Admittedly a lot of things happened today, I just want to be on the same page here."
"They leave for town and come back to me being a dragon?" They point out. "That's something to be weirded out about."
"Ah." Warrior nods. "Yeah, that'll do it."
They felt better to get back on their feet so they slid off the bed and stretched before regretting it instantly. "Ahhhhh nope still sore. Anyway, how do I claim things?"
He snorts to himself and grins a bit. "Well... claiming is personal preference. If you build your hoard big enough you can use visual claims. If you want to use smells you need to find the spot where your dragon scent glands are at. That's different from dragon to dragon but you'll probably figure it out on your own soon enough. It happens naturally, just pay attention to some of your mannerisms. And then there's a magical claim, where it's put more on the object or person, like a temporary spell. Admittedly, I'm not good for it so Zelda would probably know more about that one than I would. But that one also varies from dragon to dragon as well since each has different branches of magic."
He scratches the top of his head and leans back, getting comfortable. "That's the basics anyway. It'll come to you in time or when you don't even realize it.... Sometimes it happens when you don't really mean to. It can give away your intentions before you realize they're there."
He smiles at them gently. "Do some soul searching and maybe poke around a bit. It'll come to you."
“mhm… So let’s say…” Enno walked over to where he was sitting, happy to get some steps in because it was starting to get cramped with simple sitting around. they carefully get onto his lap, hands on his shoulders.
Warrior watches them carefully as they move. He tenses when they approach and he flushes when they directly place themselves in his lap.
“I want to claim you. Would you be able to tell?” They ask, dragging their hands behind him so they could just lazily wrap their arms around his neck. “Like- How can I know that you have one on me?”
Warrior’s blush makes his scales seem brighter and he has trouble meeting their eyes. His hands land on their hips though and he's smiling. "Um...Yes... I would be able to tell. Be it smell or magic, it's quite obvious when a dragon marks another."
But then he smirks slightly. "You can tell I’ve claimed you because you’re wearing my scarf and my shirt and you were wearing my headband that I gave to you."
One hand comes up to twirl their hair around his fingers before dipping to guide their chin, bringing them closer. "You're absolutely drowning in my scent now. No one is going to second guess who you're with."
He leans in, giving them a quick peck on the lips before he pulls back, reverting to the distance they had before. "The only thing missing is some magical residue but that can wait. There's no need to go overboard."
Enno blushed at his words and looked down at themselves out of curiosity because they didn’t notice before. They bring the scarf up to see if they could smell something.
They pull back almost instantly as the scent instantly reminds them of a cozy night in front of a fire. Wood ash, the scent of an old book and something more floral. For some reason it made them really happy but also filled their stomach with butterflies. There was something underneath it all that smelt like the ocean and a grassy field. It reminded them of Wind and Time.
They pull back and turn to face Warrior. The words sitting on the tip of their tongue.
Loud bangs interrupted the moment. “WARRIORS, ENNO OPEN UP!”
It was Twilight. Enno yelps and jumps back, basically falling off of Warrior’s lap.
Warrior grabs onto them before they can fall and places them securely back where they were.
"It's open!" He calls back, a concerned furrow in his brow. His grip on Enno tightens instinctually but it's not enough to be painful or damaging. He's being very mindful of his claws.
Twilight throws open the door and ushers Wind inside.
Instantly, they can see that the boy has been crying. He doesn't hesitate to run to the both of them and throw himself into their arms.
Warrior adjusts accordingly, and lets Enno hold him while he moves to stand protective over them both.
Warrior looks at Twilight. "What happened?"
“Time has gone full Deity. Pinky was taken. There was a noble dragon stalking her since the ball. Wild saw him last night hanging around her room. We think it was him.” Twilight explained quickly gasping for air, putting down Time’s bags too. “He said Pinky was taken to the north. I think he is going to kill the guy.”
“Wait, back up. Pinky was being stalked and no one told her? Or like anyone else?” Enno was instinctually comforting Wind. Twilight turned to face them but went wide eyed. Enno sighed. “It’s a long story… where the hell is the guy?”
“I don’t know. I think Time just wanted to warn Warriors, since it is a nobleman. I can follow the scent but I-“ Twilight struggles for a moment. “I can’t fly. But I can still track in my Hylian form.”
Warrior stands fully and drops from the bed. His landing is a bit awkward. They can see it in the way he over compensates, nearly sending himself to eat the floor.
He grunts and pushes himself up. "No need. Do you have a description of him?"
"Warrior, what happened here?" Twilight asks, horrified.
Warrior growls. "I'm fine."
"That is not what I asked." Twi places his hands on Warrior's shoulder. "You're in no condition to fly either, so we're both-"
"We need to tell Zelda." Warrior interrupts. Which is unfortunate, given all the work she has to do anyway. "There are laws for this.... that is if Time doesn't kill him first."
Wind sniffles and frowns, looking up at Enno before turning to the boys. "Twilight can’t fly and Warrior shouldn’t..." His lip quivers. "We're not gonna get Pinky back.... Time is going to go crazy..."
Wind shoves his face into the crook of Enno’s neck. They can smell ocean salt radiating off of him from his jaw as he looks toward them for comfort.
They start rubbing circles around on Wind’s back not realizing they were claiming him as family.
“It’s ok Wind. She will be ok.” They whispered, picking him up. “The Deity is also a protector god. He won't let Pinky die.”
They look at Warriors. “You’re not going out there. But yes, we need to tell Zelda or Lan- IMPA! Isn’t this more in her area? We have to let Zelda know, yeah. But Impa is her right hand man.”
Twilight was still uncomfortable with the lack of answers he was getting about the events that happened here. “You two would know more than me, but I don’t think we can prevent Time from killing the guy.”
Warrior looks at Enno adoringly, his heart clenching at the sight of them with Wind in their arms.
"I'll send word for Impa then..." He turns back to Twilight. "Do you know what he happened to look like? Does anyone know what he looks like?"
Wind sniffles and shakes his head. "You didn't see him, Enno. I've never seen Time so powerful... I've never been so scared of him before."
“Red unkempt hair, brown eyes. He looked around your age. Lean, I think he was a knight because his posture was so tight. He was wearing a dark red suit yesterday and spent most of it on the sideline by the buffet table.” Twilight repeats back. “That’s all I know.”
“I know Wind, I know.” Enno tucks Wind’s head underneath their chin as they gently rock him “I got you now. Don’t be scared.”
They give the sailor a few kisses on the head, before turning to the other heroes. “You should get her now. The more time we spend talking the more likely the deed is done.”
Warrior's eyes sharpen. "I think I know who that is."
"You were gone for more than a month Link!" She reasoned. "I waited for you for as long as I could but I couldn't just stand in the castle forever when my father hasn't returned!"
"Yeah, and you went and took the glory all for yourself while you were at it."
"I was looking all over for you as I journeyed Link. I wouldn't have known you were trapped inside that mirror for who knows how long!"
"Because you didn't bother to look hard enough!"
"Maybe you wouldn't have been trapped if you weren't so busy trying to get another kiss from a noblewomen."
Fists clenched.
"That so called guide you call of an intruding fairy didn't help you at all; in fact all she did was stall you in your journey did she? She didn't have a lot of magic or powers with her, and as someone outside of our world what can she do?"
"Didn't have a lot of magic?..." "So you noticed— you knew she was weak. And you took advantage of her condition and sealed her away?!"
"You're so defensive. When did you care about her so much?"
"Ever since you never spared me a glance."
!!?
"I admired you. I adored you with all my being, and I worshipped Hylia wholly. With not a speck of recognition given your way. And her? That so called 'intruding fairy' you call her gave me more than what you could ever hope to give me. Even if you gave me your power glove, or the wand of gamelon, or the entire kingdom of Gamelon and all the wealth and status I'd need you will never be able to give the one thing only Ava could do best. The one thing you will NEVER be able to compete with, and in turn I can never be yours, or be the soldier that white goddess demands of me and my brethren to be."
"Return to Ava what is rightfully hers...
...or we shall see how well your wand can compete with my glove."
Start of a Cycle | Part One
@gliphyartfan @imprisioned-in-the-hole @screaming-until-god-hears-me Here’s something I’ve been working on that I decided to post now before I spend another week working on the second half. (Mind the tags)
This is heavily inspired by @my-insanity-is-an-artform’s AMAZING “not zelda au,” just taken in a different direction.
Kokiri designs are heavily inspired from @earthnashes redesigns for them, specifically the ones in this post.
The sound of the wind blowing through the trees and birds chirping softly were the first things you heard when you came to. There was the feeling of warm sunlight on your skin and soft green grass under you and when you groggily opened your eyes, the you saw the sky that shade of blue you can only really see in the early morning.
A groan left you as you slowly sat up, an ear ringing headache pounding through your skull. What happened last night?
As you sat there, trying to figure out how you fell asleep in the woods of all places, all your memories of last nights events came flooding back to you.
The portal.
The dreams.
The shadow.
Your eyes widened as you realized that you had been kidnapped by a shadowy doppelgänger, literally taken in your sleep. The shock of the sudden realization has you shooting up and off of the grass, looking around frantically. To your dismay, nothing about these woods seemed familiar to you.
Okay, calm down, you thought, taking a deep breath. You tried to assess the situation calmly and look on the bright side.
For example, at least you were tied up in some dingy cabin out in the middle of nowhere!..Although that could just mean that you’re going to be hunted for sport-
Not helping!
“Alright..alright, I’m just going to walk out of these woods and find the nearest civilization,” you stated firmly, refusing to allow panic to settle in.
Setting off on foot, you headed in the direction that looked like it had the least amount of foliage, though that was hard since this forest was dense with plants. Plus, there was a thin layer of mist that seemed to cover everything like a blanket.
As you walked, you took note of how the trees were incredibly large, wide bases and trunks that grew high into the sky. You also noticed quite a few structures placed in odd places around the forest, ranging from small stone statues to wooden bridges leading to nowhere.
Is this like…a playground or something? you thought, continuing on and hoping that you were getting close to the forest’s edge.
It felt like you were working for a solid ten minutes until you ended up…exactly where you started.
“Oh come on!” you yelled up at the sky in frustration. All that time spent trecking through the foliage, getting leaves and the occasional twig stuck in your hair, and you had apparently walked in a complete circle like a dumbass!
Not a circle/You just got lost/Please don’t ever call yourself dumb
“Ugh, what do I do now?” you groaned to yourself, pacing back and forth as you contemplated going in a different direction.
A sudden giggle brought you out of your thoughts and you snapped your gaze over to the source.
Peaking out from behind a tree was what appeared to be a little girl with long green hair pulled into a long braid. You nearly yelped out of shock when you noticed the wooden antlers atop her head.
Oh my God, where did that stupid shadow drop me, you thought, eyes nearly bulging out of your head at the sight of the little girl. Well, at least you could ask her some questions.
Unfortunately, as soon as the girl noticed you noticing her, she darted off.
“H-Hey! Hold on just a minute!” you called out, immediately running after her.
You chased the young girl through a new part of the woods. There were the same large trees and statues and structures, but there were also hollowed out tree trunks that served to connect other areas.
Strangely enough, it seemed like the girl wasn’t really running from you, but rather leading you somewhere. Whenever you ran out of breath and were forced to stop, you’d always find her peaking out from the opening of another tree trunk, watching you with big open eyes.
But every time you called out to here, trying to explain how you were lost and needed help, she’d dart away as quick as lightning. And if you were pretty sure you heard her giggling more than a few times.
If it weren’t for the fact that she was incredibly fast, you’d think she was just playing a game with you.
She is/Children of the Forest/They love games
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of running, you managed to catch up with the strange little forest girl. Or rather, she had stopped running, allowing you to catch up with her.
“Geez, kid…I’m not..as fast as you…!” you panted out, hands resting on your knees as you desperately tried to catch your breath.
When you looked up, your eyes widened as you took in just how odd this girl’s appearance was.
Wooden bark matching that of her antlers crawled up the girls arms and faun-like legs and small flowers dotted her hair and the antlers atop her head. The only piece of clothing she wore was a small, dark green cloak with a golden clasp depicting a symbol you couldn’t recognize.
Holy crap she looks magic! you thought, mouth agape as you took in her appearance. There’s no way that’s cosplay, is it?
As you studied the girl, she seemed to be studying you too. She slowly circled around you, observing your clothes and eyeing the bulge in your pocket where your phone was. When she was done, she stood right in front of you and made direct eye contact, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“There have been visitors who come to the woods before, but I have never seen anyone like you..!” she explained, voice filled with wonder.
“Oh, uh, thanks?” you responded, wondering if that was supposed to be a compliment.
The girl smiled from ear to ear, bouncing in place a little as she squealed loudly like a kid on Christmas.
“That’s wonderful! We haven’t had anyone new come to the forest in such a long time!” The girl suddenly reached her hand out. “My name is Cyra, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!”
Though a little surprised by her outburst, you politely shook the girl’s hand, giving her a smile of your own. “It’s nice to meet you too, my name’s (y/n). Could you, uh, actually tell me where I am?”
“Hm? Don’t you know if you came here?” Cyra inquired, blinking in surprise as she let go of your hand.
“Yeah I didn’t really come here as much as I was…kidnapped and dropped off here,” you stated bluntly, rubbing the back of your neck awkwardly.
Cyra looked up at you like you were crazy and you couldn’t blame her, but it was hard to come up with a better story to explain your situation when you barely understood what was going on in the first place.
“Oh no, that’s horrible! We should go ask the Great Deku Tree for help, he’ll know what to do,”Cyra advised with a determined look.
The Great…Deku Tree…? Why did that name sound familiar?
Father/You know him/He knew you
As Cyra began to walk down the path leading deeper into the forest, you in tow, you continued to wonder why that name rings a bell. It was only when Cyra pulled aside the hanging vines that blocked your way that you realized where you heard that name before.
The Great Deku Tree…was a character from the Legend of Zelda series.
At the exact moment you came to this realization, eyes widening as it dawned on you just where you were, you were greeted with the warm sight of a forest village bustling with little children that looked similar to Cyra, except they lacked her cloak. Alongside them you spotted a multitude of little wood babies running around and playing with the bigger kids.
And not too far off distance, you finally saw the top branches of a truly humongous tree, the Great Deku Tree himself if your hunch was correct.
“Come on, let’s go!” Cyra chirped happily, not noticing your internal plight.
You swallowed thickly, a nervous sweat building up on your forehead, and nodded slightly.
Oh Christ, how did I get into this situation?
