Tales from Deathmakers: A Debt Well Paid: Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Affordable Housing
Tom was currently on his way to his quarters for this mission on what seemed to be the cheapest wagon in the universe he was surprised it didn't fall off the road with how much it was bouncing, the quarters were somewhere on the south side of Luthervill it wasn't a terrible place to live or so he'd heard.
Tom is a paladin well used to be, as of yesterday he was officially no longer part of the order of the Saints of the Infinite Dawn. the church has apparently cooked up some kind of scheme but he wasn't sure, no one really told him anything, all he knew was that he would be let go of his position as a paladin and he would work for the church under the table. Tom supposed that the church's enemies were been getting more confidant over the years but the Saints of the Infinite Dawn cant be seen deploying their forces publicly otherwise they would strike back. it was speculation but he cant think of any other reason for the church to jump through all these hoops.
but that didn't really matter to him if this was going to be anything like his previous missions there would be lots of killing and if there was anything Thomas was good at it was killing.
he spent the time till he arrived preforming upkeep on his sword and armour they were both fresh from the smith since they needed to be reforged to remove the symbols of the church from them given that it would defeat the purpose of working under the table if he ran around with the saint's emblem on his chest.
it took around five hours for Tom to arrive to his destination; a squat little building a bit run down but functional, it fit in well with its surroundings it was clear when he took a look inside that this place has been used as a drug den of sorts and has recently been cleared out.
"those bastards lied to me" Tom muttered under his breath "i didn't expect much but you'd expect it to be at least livable"
well he should get to cleaning then.
Ian stepped out of the wagon it was a long ride but it gave him time to grill the bureaucrat, Howard he learned his name was on what exactly he sighed up for. apparently he would be working with a paladin named Thomas Williams and these missions he will be doing would involve a lot of murder but that makes enough sense but what he still couldn't wrap his head around was why they wanted him, a necromancer to be specific, it was the one question Howard kept dodging. Anyway contemplating wont get him anywhere he should get to his new living space for the time being. Ian looked down at the note in his hand with an address scrawled on it "thirty first Aragon lane" it said written in Howard's hand, a bit messy due to the wagon constantly jerking around but it was still legible and thats all that mattered.
When Ian arrived at the address he was wasn't particularly impressed sure it wasn't terrible but he had seen better and definitely expected better from the church.
Ian walked up to the door and knocked it took a second but a tall well built man in a plain white tunic answered the door.
"who are you?" the man asked in a deep confident voice.
"I'm the uh i was told to come here" Ian said holding up the piece of paper Howard gave him like a shield.
"ah i see they gave me a partner, cute" said the man.
"uh my name is Ian Deadridge" Ian said not quite sure what he was meant to say.
"well come in then I'm Thomas Williams i only got here an hour ago so i haven't been able to clean a lot. oh, are you hungry? you look like you haven't had a good meal in weeks" Thomas asked.
"its more like two months" Ian said scratching the back of his head embarrassed as he entered the house .
"excuse me?" Tom asked incredulously.
"well it's to do with my magic" Ian said tired as he was starting to feel the almost year since he had slept weighing on him now that it was being discussed.
"interesting i didn't know there was a magic that did that" Tom said curious.
"its my sleep magic it keeps me awake and therefore alive it uses magic to sustain me in stead of food and water. it makes me feel like shit but it means i don't need to pay for food so its net positive outcome" Ian said his tiredness becoming almost overwhelming he felt like he could pass out at any second and given how little he has eaten he might actually die "anyway did you say you had food?" Ian asked desperately.
"uh no i was gonna go buy some but if you want something right now i have some rations i could give you" Tom barely finished handing over his rations before they were snatched from his hand and devoured with a speed that would make a striking cobra jealous then immediately passed out.
alright now with that i will go to my cave and make a better planned out world and story so i don't write myself into a corner again. i will keep the Tales form Deathmakers title because it sounds sick as fuck but i think ill tie it into the story better

Baltimore region needs transit not transit phobia
Tumblr media
Southbound train at Lutherville station, August 2014, courtesy of Wikimedia
Note: Below is a recent letter I wrote, which was published in the Baltimore Sun, online and in print. It was also printed in my blog, History Hermann. The bolded phrase, which is bracketed in the text below, is one I should have added before sending in the piece, but did not realize the error until after the letter was published. Oops. Some phrasing and such was changed when it was finally published, as I originally called Sandra German, Mrs. German due to her marriage noted in the letter, but the Sun changed this to Ms. Since this was published it has been shared on Facebook and by those in the Baltimore Transit Equity Coalition, some of whom I have been communicating with. In sum, Baltimore is my city, so I can't just stay silent and I refuse to stay silent.
Recently, Greater Fern-Glen Community Association President Sandra German wrote a screed against the light rail ("Why Glen Burnie is opposed to light rail,” Aug. 2). As a user of the light rail and buses in the Baltimore area, Ms. German's commentary deeply concerns me. The public transit system in the Baltimore area shouldn't be cut back further, but rather should be expanded.
In 1965, as a recent article by D.W. Rowlands on the web site Greater Greater Washington noted ("Baltimore once had an elevated streetcar along Guilford Avenue," July 31), Baltimore received money from the federal government to study a regional rapid transit system. Three years later, the city released a report proposing a "71-mile system with six branches radiating from downtown." If the system had been built, Baltimore's subway system would be comparable to the Washington, D.C. Metro. In 1971, rather than approving a complete transit system, a 28-mile initial plan was proposed, consisting of two lines which would later become the Baltimore Metro subway route (opened in 1983) and light rail line (opened in 1992). Sadly, the southern branch of the subway was cut due to opposition from Anne Arundel County residents. In this sense, the commentary by Ms. German is in keeping with historical mores!
As for what Ms. German had to say, it is not fair to paint the light rail's users as a bunch of criminals. The majority of those who use the service are well-natured individuals going to and from their jobs, those going to sports games, tourists, or those going to the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, to name a few reasons. The point of a mass transit system is that everyone can use it, including some who are seen, rightly or wrongly, as unsavory types. [1]
The same applies to the bus system. Recently, Baltimore County Council members David Marks and Cathy Bevins have said that the bus service stop at The Avenue in White Marsh should be closed at 11 p.m. because of "large crowds of youth in the evening on the weekends," claiming the youth are disruptive, uncontrollable and harming their own safety, after a recent fight at the White Marsh Mall (“Baltimore County council members urge MTA to reduce bus service to White Marsh Mall area after fight,” Aug. 8). For those who use such mass transit, especially those who are transit-dependent, it is not right to stigmatize them because doing so makes it clear there is a "race issue" at play rather than a concern about public safety, despite what Ms. Bevins told The Sun.
Eliminating the Glen Burnie stop of the light rail [2] would be another blow at the inadequate public transit system of Baltimore. Apart from having a better-run light rail or a Red Line in Baltimore, which is advocated by many, including the Baltimore Transit Equity Coalition, there needs to be a full-throated mass transit system for Baltimore. Already, the SmarTrip Card is part of the WMATA system, so why not have a physical connection [other than the MARC train*] between Baltimore and D.C. by rail? Additionally, Annapolis should be connected to Baltimore, possibly by extending the light rail beyond Glen Burnie, in order to further tie the state together. Having a complete and working mass transit system for the Baltimore area, rather than one outranked by those of Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Francisco, D.C., Chicago, Boston, and New York, is vital.
It is time that Baltimore live up to its motto still inscribed on many city benches ("The Greatest City in America") by creating a world-class transit system, building upon the existing and inadequate transit system to make something that will benefit the people of the Baltimore area.

Notes
[1] On ipetition is a petition (strongly pushed) to close the Cromwell and Ferndale Light Rail Stations started by none other than Ms. German. Currently 395 people have signed it. Some even say the Linthicum station should be closed too! Hilarously are the comments on the community association's Facebook page that it is "horribly unprofessional and clearly not in support of any type of "community"...this person clearly has no idea what they're talking about. Whoever is representing this association is the kind of person who ruins communities, not builds them up for the good of the people living there" and another saying "Horrible site run by a nasty racist woman. Not accurate about the area at all." There are some positive comments of course, but many negative ones. The organization, with the page run by Ms. German herself as it seems from some of the comments, takes a clear anti-immigrant stand, saying that "I think it's time to secure the boarders, build the wall, and make sure these kids are given back to their parents" and talking about the "illegals" (undocumented immigrants). They also oppose affordable housing, watches for what they see as crime (like this post), and praised those in the Sun who did not call her racist, reprinting her screed, which was also published in the Gazette in a shorter version. She is clearly preparing for some sort of fight, possibly even in court, apparently, angry at efforts to keep the light rail open, even threatening the Baltimore Sun with newspaper cancellations if her letter was published. She thanked the Maryland Gazette for covering a protest of the association opposing the light rail, which she claims is "unaccountable." I have a strong sense she supports the current U.S. president.
[2] Its officially called the "Glen Burnie (Cromwell)" stop of the Light Rail, or Cromwell Station. It is in Glen Burnie, despite one of the comments which said it isn't...

Still Day 3
7.00pm
So today we decided to go and visit The Little White House, the home of Franklin Delaney Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States ( not Theodore as previously stated )
I decided on a breakfast of turkey sausages, sausage gravy and biscuits ( scones to you and me ! ). Actually it was delicious and very filling, especially washed down with a hot cup of coffee.
We left quite early and as it was a Sunday morning, the traffic was reasonably light and soon we were meandering through towns such as Moreland, Lutherville , Fayetteville and Gay, all pictures perfect small American towns, rather Disneyesque in their appearance, with immaculate, manicured lawns and StationWagons facing in the same direction.
Each town had a church, that looked like it was made of icing sugar, crisp and bright in the sparkling sunlight, it’s congregation yet to descend upon them to sing their Hallelujahs .
In between this small town America, we saw huge billboards, advertising food ( Cheescake pancake anyone? ), doctors, lawyers and taxidermy !
We finally arrived at The Little White House in Warm Springs. The town was named after the natural, warm water that gushed from the depths of the earth and formed pools of water, that supposedly had healing and therapeutic properties.  Mr R had contracted Polio from an early age and was paralysed from the waist down and was in pain for much of his life, and the only way to ease that discomfort was to take in the waters, so he built a small, modest house for himself and his wife so that he could regularly enjoy the benefits of the springs.
FDR appears to have been a successful and much loved President and had 3 terms in office, he took his Country through the Great Depression and WWII, he changed the way Americans looked at the world. He introduced affordable electricity to the rural areas of Georgia and through the Depression created job schemes to get the nation back to work.
April 4th 1945 was a relaxing type of day, FDR was going to put the final touches to his Jefferson Day speech and then he was going to sit for his portrait for an hour or so and finally a BBQ was planned for the afternoon.
Whilst he was sitting for his portrait , FDR complained of a severe headache and was taken to his bedroom to sleep, it was here that he passed away a couple of hours later at the age of 62 with a celebral haemorrhage.
We went to see the “unfinished portrait”, it is still at the LWH and is still unfinished.
The Sherman Tank has taken on a new identity, it drives itself. I didn’t believe it myself, until Tony showed me… it even goes around bends on its own as well. I have no idea behind the technology, only that I know it’s alien.. it’s got to be. Actually it’s quite frightening to think that Sherman can “ see” the road !
Well tomorrow we are going to leave the Peach State of Georgia …
However one last thing ……
Margaret Mitchell the author of Gone With the Wind lived just a few minutes away from here, in a tiny one bedroom flat ! I wonder if she would’ve have realised how much controversy her book would cause 70 later

Understanding The Value And Reach Of High School Psychology
The majority was in three-year higher general examination high school program. Approximately one third of the students had parents with upper-secondary education. The prevalence of emotional wellbeing differed for males and females; with a larger proportion of females than males reporting emotional symptoms and a lower proportion reporting life satisfaction and self-esteem. Conversely, relatedness, self-efficacy and autonomy were more equally distributed across sexes. The U of M Psychology Department will create the multiple-choice exams . CIS teachers can schedule these exams throughout the trimester/semester in a way that works best for CIS students. There is both structure and flexibility in the use of assignments. Weekly assignments are usually required (e.g. writing reflective essays using concepts discussed in lecture). However, the specific writing assignments may be chosen from a group of assignments created by the U of M Psychology Department or may be created by the high-school teachers, if they follow basic assignment guidelines . Videos from each lecture are streamed online and are available for viewing either in a regular classroom setting as a group or in a school’s computer labs, either individually or in groups. Mr Thorpe has taught in Wake County for 10 years, and this will be his seventh year teaching AP Psych ! AP Psych is a social studies elective which is also taught at the honors level. Although Psych is an elective, it could count as your social studies elective for your graduation requirements. After AP Psychology, high schools don’t offer any more psychology classes. “The closest thing that you would find in the high school curriculum is sociology.” said Mr. Thorpe.

Furthermore they promote and facilitate the practice of these skills in real-world settings with the support and guidance of veteran school psychologists. These experiences have allowed me to feel confident in my ability to positively impact and support the students, families, and colleagues with whom I work. Race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. What are the psychological effects of being physically and emotionally persecuted because of who you are, what you believe, and/or your identity? She plans to attend Harvard to begin her studies in psychology with an ultimate goal of becoming a psychiatrist. All have been outstanding citizens and accomplished young adults in and beyond the classrooms of NBHS. The top three students of the NBHS Class of 2022 will be recognized during the NBHS Graduation Ceremony on June 15. Valedictorian Regan Leete will also be providing a speech during the graduation ceremony. Despite coming from a family of teachers—her mother and grandparents were teachers—Fowler only started seriously considering teaching while completing a degree in communications at the University of Central Florida. For Camil Fowler, a 2018 graduate who teaches intensive 9th grade reading, working at her alma mater made a lot of sense.
This young man gives his time and effort not only to excelling in his studies, but also in serving others.
He wants to attend Notre Dame University and play soccer for the Irish.
We studied verbal and nonverbal communication, gender constructions, oppression and power dynamics, and romantic relationships, as well as risk-taking and peer influence on decision making.
Mental health in high school students cluster together in four categories among both males and females.
The founders were Lorne Elbert Sr., Frank Fritz, Boyce Goldcamp, Bill Hartman, John Lydon, John Pluta, Sylvester Rothgery, Ted Seward, and Dick Teasdale. Thirty to forty men started selling tickets for a monthly cash drawing. Porter, an intern at an accounting firm in Lutherville Timonium, plans to secure a full-time position there. http://www.cityschools.net/departments/school-counseling/resources There would have been little use for a mind designed to engage in abstract statistical thinking about large numbers of strangers. As far as scientists can tell, our prehistoric forebears lived in relatively small groups. Most people would live out their entire life in this group, and one’s social standing within it was determined during adolescence. How much one was admired as a warrior or hunter, how desirable one was perceived to be as a mate and how much trust and esteem was accorded to one by others – all of this was sorted out in young adulthood. A person deemed to be a loser at 18 was unlikely to rise to a position of prominence at 40. Thus, from an evolutionary perspective, the competition of the teen years had lifelong repercussions.
Psychology Teacher Speaks Out
To acquaint students with the basic areas of study covered by the field of psychology, including learning, personality assessment, abnormal behavior, social psychology and psychopathology. I have been a faculty member of the Psychology Department since 2016. During the academic year, my research and teaching interests are primarily focused on the biology of our brains and investigating how brain processes contribute to behavior.
Schools Offering Accredited Education Programs
While free online psychology courses usually do not confer credit, they provide access to knowledge and information. This engaging and rigorous psychology course is designed to help students become more aware of themselves as unique individuals. Delving into their own experiences, students are encouraged to be scientists in the process of exploring themselves and their place in the universe. This simulation also records data for each trial including the burn probability, where the fire started, the percent of trees burned, and how long the fire lasted. This activity allows students to explore the idea of chaos in a simulation of a realistic scenario. Supplemental materials, including background information about the topics covered, a description of how to use the application, and exploration questions for use with the java applet are linked to the applet. High school psychology students learn about hypothesis testing, the central nervous system, and how to use statistics when conducting research. That’s not touchy-feely, and it’s no surprise some states are considering making psychology a science credit. While psychology appeared occasionally as part of the high school curriculum as early as the late 1800s, and more frequently since the 1920s, the original focus was on the study of the mind and mental hygiene.

So here we are, prepping for an epic photo shoot next week for a very special publication where Veronica Varlow and I will be re-creating massively famous artworks from an era/movement very close to my heart, and where the women look simultaneously fabulous and also like they are thoroughly spaced out and care about absolutely nothing. ☕️ It will take practice—here I still quite clearly care about at least a couple of small things. Like digestive biscuits perhaps and the price of marmalade. But that’s not the point! ☕️ The point is, my eyebrows!! Look! I’ve painted them a light red (they’re naturally almost black, as you know) in an attempt to persuade myself not to bleach them (the art demands matching hair/brows). So, the question is, can I pull this off? If I bleach, will I regret it forever? I’ve heard that I will regret it forever, but I need the truth, for heaven’s sake! . Plague Rats 🐀, if you’ve ever bleached/dyed your precious brows, please do tell me all about it before it’s too late!!! . ~W14A🥄 . P.S. Before you ask what’s wrong with my hair, don’t worry, this is just what it actually looks like 20 minutes out of the shower—I have not been mauled by an amorous raccoon. 🦝

✨ Thank you ever so much, Plague Rats, for helping me decide upon my eyebrows for the epic magazine shoot this week!!! (The question, if you’ve just arrived, was bleach and dye or simply conceal and shade as I’ve done here, as they had to match my hair color.) 🐀 Every single bit of all of your advice/opinions/suggestions was incredibly helpful, and, in the end, 7:30 AM last Tuesday found me doing just as I did above (the concealing trick), and I think they went over smashingly!! 🐀 I’m not allowed to say anything more about the shoot yet, except that I modeled with my lady husband Veronica Varlow like you’ve NEVER seen us before, in a location that must be seen to be believed, and also that it was a childhood dream come true. I can’t wait to share more, and thank you all again for your love and encouragement, always!!! . ~W14A🥄 . P.S. oh no!! I just found that I left my #asylumemporium rose gold Inmate bracelet at the shooting location!! It was the first time I’d taken it off in at least 3 months and I feel very naked now... . #plagueratsrule #preraphaelite

I am incredibly honored to be on the cover of the Spring Issue of what I like to call “Vogue for Witches,” #EnchantedLivingMagazine Faerie Magazine!!The best part is what is behind this cover however: a massive photo spread featuring myself AND Veronica Varlow, channeling Victorian supermodels and frenemies Lizzie Siddal and Jane Morris respectively, recreating several of the most famous paintings of the Pre-Raphealite era!!This experience was an absolute dream, and there will be much more info to come, but I do want to thank Carolyn Turgeon and #FaerieMagazine for the faith you put in Veevers and I in representing these artworks, as well as @steve.parke for capturing the essence of an artistic age that I have always had an obsession for (see my “The Art of Suicide” and “Shallot” for proof;). And Veevers, we both know Jane & Lizzie were secretly into each other.~W14A🥄 aka Lizzie . #preraphaelite *** @faeriemagazine wrote:We're super excited to be wrapping up our Pre-Raphaelite-themed spring issue in the next couple of weeks and are even more excited to finally share this wondrous cover, featuring Emilie Autumn, with you! ✨ Click the link in our bio to subscribe! ✨ Or pre-order the issue at https://enchantedlivingmag.com/.../enchanted-living-issue... ✨ This image from @steve.parke shot last summer at the @cloisterscastle in Baltimore, Maryland. All hair and makeup was done by @hairbynikki_v of Baltimore's @nvsaloncollective, Emilie's dress is from Bullseye Clothiers, and the ultra-tempting box was designed by @metalartistsue.~ .

I think we're in the same area, based on some of your comments about locations and who you foster for. I adopted an unaltered male about a year ago. I want to get him neutered so I can add females to my pig family. Can you recommend a couple of vets who'd be good? I also email MGPR to ask. If you message me I can get more specific about my geography--I'm definitely south of you. Thanks!
Hi! We live in the center of Baltimore City. Since fostering with MGPR, we’ve been using Warm and Fuzzy, in Middle who River (Bal. County). It’s about half an hour away from us, definitely worth it. We have had really good experiences with them, one of their vets specializes in guinea pigs. They were very patient and knowledgeable, and this was back early in COVID when we weren’t allowed to come into the building. They did the whole assessment at the front window where we could see! We love them.  Other than that, we used to go to Lutherville Animal Hospital (we used to live closer). They have one vet who was always really great, and they were always happy to answer questions over the phone (one of our pigs ate a whole leaf of one of my plants once, so we panicked and called them; very helpful!).  I’m not sure about other vets, I’m glad you reached out to MGPR! That would have been my  next suggestion. I believe other members also like Chadwell in Abingdon MD, Blue Ridge in Purcellville VA, and Stahl Exotic Animal Veterinary Services (SEAVS) in Fairfax VA. Not sure if you’re far enough south for VA, but they would probably be great options.
Let us know if you don’t hear back from MGPR soon, I can post in our forum and ask for you! - Kat

12 Monkeys (1995)
Tumblr media
Director: Terry Gilliam Writer(s): Chris Marker (film La Jetée), David Webb Peoples (screenplay), Janet Peoples (screenplay) Cinematographer: Roger Pratt Editor: Mick Audsley Production Designer: Jeffrey Beecroft Costume Designer: Julie Weiss Music: Paul Buckmaster Cast: Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe
Camera: Moviecam Compact, Cooke S3 Lenses
Filming Locations: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania / Montréal, Québec, Canada / Lutherville, Maryland / Baltimore, Maryland
In a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.
According to the old me, I felt that this movie was too sci-fi for my taste which made it boring enough to lose my interest. When I say too sci-fi, it’s because I’ve never been a huge fan of that genre, but in no way does that mean I’m not ever interested to watching any. Just about the only thing that got my attention was Brad Pitt’s performance as a lunatic. I do wonder if the new me will take a liking the second time around so I honestly would give it another chance. Only if it was free on a streaming service. 😉

#8 A bit late and a bit short
Once upon a time in Lutherville-Timonium, the sadistic blonde was sitting in her stronghold. She was quite too quiet pondering being called soft. Let me pause here and take you back to the land of Baldwin where there was a splendid party (of the pool variety). During said party, a comment (in jest) was made about the she-devil maybe flipping sides a bit. A splendid time was had by all in attendance. But she filed it away in her mental file-a-fax.  Even though it was said in jest this didn't sit well with her. So after much thought she concocted a plan that would suit her subjects well, for the thought of her being perceived as soft didn't sit right.
Tues night we learned that we all pay the price for one person calling her soft, in any way, shape or form. In true team form, where one goes we all go. Poor choice of words equated to a warm-up of sprints and planks. This set the tone for a workout that shall be called I Am Not Fucking Soft…Workout. This workout was a statement, but then the next run was on flat ground.
For some, this was great. For others, this is absolute hell. For me, I despise flat and the NCR. This run was both of those. Fortunately for me I am on IR. The gods have slightly forsaken my Achilles as I have aligned myself with the dark one for a few years now. I see it as time to pay the price for allegiances.
Sunday the running god continues to laugh at me. As I watched, all my amazing and fellow students of the Dark One racked up awards at an amazing race while all I could do is stand by and cheer them on. This week should see my return to the masses of pavement/trail pounders.
