Gerald Robotnik was Eggman's grandfather, introduced in Sonic Adventure 2. He made a false deal with Black Doom to create Shadow the Hedgehog in exchange for the Chaos Emeralds, making them both Shadow's dads. They definitely banged and had some kind of toxic mess of a relationship.

Grimer Wormtongue is a nasty little assistant to Ivo Robotnik in Fleetway Sonic the Comic. He is extremely devoted to his cruel master, which is for sure a sexual thing.

Ebony the Mystic Mog and Pyjamas the Psychic are two characters from Sonic the Comic who appear briefly in a Knuckles story, then become minor recurring characters that take in Super Sonic from the streets. They appear as old friends in their introduction and are implied to live together. If these two aren't married, it's only because Mobius is homophobic.

Mephiles the Dark and Iblis are two halves of the sun/time god Solaris, introduced in Sonic '06. Iblis is kind of just a big fire monster I think but Mephiles orchestrates this whole plot through the course of the game to re-merge with Iblis and form Solaris. Which sounds like some pretty twisted villainous gay devotion to me.

Starline and Eggman were allowed in by popular vote, mostly by Eggman's qualifying age. Dr. Starline is a character from the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comic. He is a fanboy and devotee of Eggman, restoring Eggman's lost memories and assisting him in his Metal Virus plot. Starline eventually plots to betray Eggman, as he believes himself smarter and more genre-savvy than his idol. He is of course wrong and Eggman beats the shit out of him and kills him to death. Starline is sort of like gen z's Grimer, kind of the tumblr sexyman dark academia Grimer, in that he's younger and prettier than Grimer, but he probably still wants to fuck that old man so bad.

I forgot the whole point of this blog was to post art and discussions about Sonic. I’ve literally only been talking for the past 2 years. No Good :(

so originally, my plan was to make Iblis (he/him) a mimic form based loosely on Princess Elise, but as I replayed ‘06, I started thinking that doesn’t fit in the sense that Elise only houses Iblis rather than has a deep story alongside it. If anything, a form that resembles Blaze the Cat would be fitting for it, but that’s not the angst factor I want.

In a moment of desperation, Iblis the Light uses his godly power to tap into the mind of the Duke of Soleanna, if only for a brief moment to figure out why he and his Holy Other were being abused and torn to shreds. Iblis finds greed, selfishness, and above all, a lost love that the Duke desperately wants to return.

And it’s like something breaks. Iblis, in such desperation, attempts psychological warfare. He changes into the deceased queen, using her voice to beg the Duke to stop and have mercy upon their gods. It doesn’t work.

Mephiles himself doesn’t mind the state of form; they’ve a love that doesn’t mind form or even state of mind so long as they’re still together. (Because I love the idea of love between gods being something so complex yet so simple.)

but y’know, that’s just the word vomit in me :D

here’s the spooky old version of Iblis! (in the old ver, pronouns were she/her, but now I’m sorta liking the idea of them using pronouns as a title rather than an extension of themselves).

Sonilver is definitely the close second and most in focus besides Knuxadow. Mostly because they are pretty intertwined story wise.

Other than that, Mephiblis, because I love these disaster half gods. They just be vibing while the mortals try not to set cities on fire.

Metonic, Sonlise, Light Drive (a rarepair of Solaris x Chaos), and Mephiblis. And, for the crackship due to a roleplay, Solaris x Sonic.

Metonic: Love the vibes, love the character development, absolutely stunning. I could honestly go on forever about these two, but I'll keep it brief, because otherwise I may eventually devolve into the rambling gibberish of a madman with a mobile corkboard, plenty of paper, and lots of string.

Sonlise: I'm not a huge fan of Sonic being shipped with human characters, and of course the infamous kiss scene is infamous for a reason. However, I can see the intended relationship arc between them and on its own, it's not terrible. Could be better, could be worse.

Light Drive: I've never encountered this ship in the wild before but it sounds interesting. Two powerful deities who could destroy the world by themself, let alone with each other. Solaris is undoubtedly the more powerful of the two, so the power imbalance dynamic could be played off of, assuming Chaos cares enough about it. I imagine that Solaris would probably see Chaos as more of an amusing pet than anything else at first, though over time they could consider each other as equals in an identity sense if not in power, maybe. It depends on how the author characterizes them.

Mephiblis: This is also a ship I haven't seen much of before, but at a glance, it has some decent potential. Considering that Mephiles and Iblis are two halves of a whole and have a built-in fusion au, it's pretty appealing. However, there is the characterization of Iblis in particular that dampens things- Iblis is supposed to be the mindless power and instincts of Solaris, with Mephiles being the one with all of the cunning and intelligence of Solaris. As such, it's difficult to say that Iblis would even be capable of understanding a relationship, and a relationship can't really be mutual when one party doesn't comprehend the fact that it's a relationship at all. If Iblis was more intelligent though, I could see a nerd/jock thing going on maybe? Once again, this ship depends on how the author characterizes them.

Crackship Solaris x Sonic (I'm calling it Sonaris/Solaric now): As with Light Drive, there is an inherent power imbalance to be played off of here, in that Solaris needs to be defeated in multiple times simultaneously and Sonic can only go for one at a time. However, I'd say that Sonic and Solaris are closer in power than Chaos and Solaris are, so Solaris would probably be more aware of Sonic as an intelligent entity rather than a glorified pet. It's important to consider that Mephiles is part of Solaris, and how he killed Sonic in order to allow Solaris to exist, so there's some built-in angst there, though Solaris is different from Mephiles and Iblis in that they are basically a fusion. So, while this is a crackship, there's actually a lot to explore. Good luck anon, have fun with your RP xD

Okay, so I’m sitting around, combing fanfics for any new entries pertaining to Mephiles (because we all know that I seriously can’t get enough fodder for him), when one in particular catches my eye.

It’s a one shot, which tends to be a good format for self contained short stories.

The summary boasted itself by being an excerpt of the content, which I honestly enjoy when that happens.

The pairing, it appeared, was MephIblis, with a Fem!Iblis, which is something I don’t really object to, as honestly, Iblis from the game could have in fact been a chick this whole time, and we all just assumed Iblis was a dude because of the whole massive lava monster thing, and characters using masculine pronouns to refer to the semi-sentient creature. I know I tend to write Iblis as a male and as a sort of twin to Mephiles (or some incarnation… *cough*), but that’s the whole fun of reinventing characters.

So… This was a Fem!Iblis fic, it seemed, which is a concept I’ve usually seen executed with surprisingly good results, <i>especially</i> when paired with Mephiles. About 90% of the rare subject fics I’ve seen are very well done with the entire pairing subsisting on either a spiritual connection or truly deep devotion… A concept very well backed up and presented within the game itself, albeit in a more abstract way.

Seriously, watch Mephiles during his Totally Focused on Iblis Moments. I’m more convinced that the true pairing in that game was MephIblis and not SonElise, even…

*Cough*

Anywho, this fic caught my attention, and I found myself tapping the link on the screen of my iPod, figuring that at best, it would be an intriguing new original story that wasn’t a rehash of some movie, and at worst, I could easily back out of the page if things took a freaky turn, but the “T” Rating insured me that at least it wasn’t one of those weird mature ones. I like the “T” Ratings more, as you can find good stories with minimal, um, kink.

So it starts out as an alternate take on the whole infamous “Mephiles murdered Sonic” scene from the game. Some characters that had been missing in source material are now present, but I’m not complaining; I like Cream, I wondered why she didn’t show up in that game to begin with.

I should note that there is some brief language, mostly on Knuckles’ part, but hey, a long time friend, teammate and ally has just been murdered. Dude has every right to spit death threats to the laughing culprit.

Eventually, Elise finally gives in, cries, breaks the seal, and Iblis is freed. Iblis has a hedgehog form, is a chick, and is, in this story, Mephiles’ dear wife. Her presence now brings him down from that little psychotic thing he was doing in the game to lead up to this, and it at a first seems like Mephiles gets a happy ending at the cost of tearing Elise from hers… Until Iblis realizes what Mephiles did to free her, and boy… She was furious.

So, what happens when Mephiles is rejected by the very piece of his soul that he has spent so long orchestrating an elaborate scheme at the possible cost of his sanity?
