Someone on another social media platform brought up a point that I’ve never thought about or heard talked about much - at least not with this phrasing.

I’m sure other people have brought it up but I feel the need to talk about it anyway. The person said that we may all just be pieces on Flemeth’s chessboard. It resonated with me. We talk about Solas being a chess master and tactician but we don’t talk about Flemeth or really Mythal.

Flemeth took in whatever part of Mythal’s spirit remained after her murder. They made a deal. Mythal would help her get revenge and Flemeth would return the favor. Obviously it would take longer for Mythal to get her revenge because she would need to be stronger.

Flemeth body hops down through the centuries. She gives events a nudge or even a shove when needed. What exactly has she been nudging? We know Mythal’s end game but how will it play out?

Her daughter Yavanna was raising dragons. She wanted Morrigan to do the Dark Ritual to get a purified archdemon soul. She saved some heroes - Hawk - and extracts promises from others - Merric. Why? How will it help her win the game?

Who is to say that she didn’t call Solas out of the Fade when all her pieces were in place? She needs him to take down the Veil. It seems to be the one thing she can’t do herself. But, she had to be ready or she wouldn’t have asked him to come.

If Kieran is in your world state you find her in the Fade. It seems to be pretty natural to her. As natural as it is for Solas.

Flemeth has been in all three games. Everyone knows she is important but what is her game and who is she playing against? What is Solas? Her mage/bishop? Her pawn? Her tower/castle/rook?

Is she as willing as Solas to sacrifice her best pieces so she can win? Mythal has definitely been playing the long game.

Another question is whether or not she is doing this just for herself and her revenge or does she want to help Thedas. Is she okay with Solas putting up the Veil in the first place? Does she think he betrayed the world by doing it? Does she want revenge against Solas? Is she hoping he will die doing what she needs him to do?

So many questions….

Why had she become so angry? And had it happened recently, or just built up over time to the point where she could no longer ignore it? No, it was probably the latter. Most of the time when she said she could not remember, Fíann either realised she did not care enough to be arsed to remember... or did not want to. But the best way to forget something, ironically, was to remember it, and then willingly cast it out.

That was what was happening with her memories of ever kissing other people now, and specifically one person. Merric. Vaas probably hated the guy's guts - any normal person would be in that position - but bit by bit Fíann came to accept and like it. Merric had fucked her up, and she was okay with that. That had been what had helped her survive for so long. To win at a fucked up game you must be a bit fucked up yourself.

And how better to erase the memories of a kiss by having a far more memorable kiss with someone else? She had gotten so much into it, scratching her nails all over Vaas's back, kissing him like there was no tomorrow and all they had was this one moment, that Fíann felt herself sink her teeth into his lip. Before she could realise it, there was iron on her tongue. Blood. Had her teeth sank that far? Huh.

          IT TAKES ONLY A FEW MOMENTS FOR Tiki to recognize this dance. As Merric guides her through a waltz, its steps graceful and precise, memory instantly blooms within her senses. Like a furtive bud giving way to the morning light. Tiki allows herself to bask in its memory.

          "I know this dance," she says softly as Merric leads her into a twirl, "It's from our Marth's kingdom, isn't it?" she nods, "It's quite a bit outdated, I'm afraid. The people of my time know something a bit different."

          She hums while continuing their shared movement. Then, without a word, the steps shift. Tiki slowly takes over, her hands going to Merric's shoulders as she tugs him into a quicker, more modern rhythm. Their bodies press closer together in an almost-embrace, and Tiki can't help the twinkling laugh that shines through her voice. It must feel so strange for him, and for those who had remained untouched by time. Grateful is she, then, that she could bring them witness to such a miracle; the miracle of the future they had all fought so bitterly to win.

          "Here's what the people do now. It's more contemporary, wouldn't you say?" Tiki muses, before twirling him, "I do enjoy how this minuet has evolved. It's grown to be much more fun. Its joy is parallel to that of the people."

Non Life Threatening Bonding

Do you believe in love? The last of the white roses are woven into garlands this time of year, sometimes given to close friends but more often given to someone you fancy. Weave your affections into a garland intended for your beloved... or fight the others for those last snowy blooms, letting your passionate love give you the strength to win out against those stupid fools.

She actually has someone special this year to give her rose garland to.  An actual, real boyfriend and not just someone she’s pining for.  Someone who would really appreciate the effort she’s going to put into it.  And for this, she certainly plans on putting in quite a bit of effort.  It has to be perfect.

Traditionally, it’s the white roses that are used but something about that just doesn’t seem right for someone like Ewan.  Ewan is bright and cheerful and fun and amazing.  A gift for him should be as colorful and unique as he is.  But what if that’s not what he wants?  What if he’s expecting the the typical white tradition?

Then again, their relationship has hardly been traditional.

While she internally debates and redebates with herself, Merric just so happens to be passing by and Hilda is quick to grab him by the arm and drag him over.  A mutual friend--perfect!

Anyway I expect Gatekeeper will be Gatekeeper becuase they don't really wanna try with Three Houses characters so they'll just keep him in his base outfit but add like sparkles and then never add him to the game aside from that.

Marianne will be a holy knight with her sword. The real question is will they treat it like a sword or is the sword gonna be a sword looking staff? She'll also probably come with some type of calvary/flier buff/heal thing

Marth,if Marianne is indeed a sword,is either gonna take after Merric or Elise,but if she's not,they are probably gonna go the lazy route and just give him his 90s look with an even fancier Falchion that I dunno,deletes dragons lefts toes. I suppose he take after Jagen to,but we already have axe calvary Marth and Green Tome Marth would be more interesting. But we also have like 3 armored axe Edelgards so. That aint gonna stop them.

Eirika is the most difficult to place,becuase Gatekeeper is almost assuredly a Lance unit so she can't take Ephraim's weapon. Wouldn't want her to anyway,becuase that would somehow be treated as a win for Ephi and that's tiring. If Marianne is a sword unit and Marth is the green unit,Eirika would probably steal the staff Latona,she has no problem snatching legendary weapons from other countries and Heroes showed that Eirika has SOME talent in magic of both kinds.

Either way,unless her outfit ends up completely horrid,I'm only gonna use my free summon for Eirika and then dip. But hope ya'll are able to get a perfect iv of your winner of choice if you chose to summon with orbs!

@alphakuriboh That was too many separate replies so I’m doing it all here.

Nino does currently have Odd Atk.  I forgot which was which, but I do run her with Permanent Wave, which is consistent for her but also only gives +6.  Not exactly ideal when the purpose is stacking buffs.

Spd/Def Link is a possibility, since that comes at 4* on Norne, but in my experience with Link skills (and this kind of support in general, like Annette), it’s never worth it to waste an entire unit’s action just to buff up one attacker.  It never goes well.  You’re basically dedicating an entire unit to just powering her up every turn and it severely limits flexibility of the team.  Tactics on a dancer would be far more beneficial at that point.

The Oath is largely considered because Swift Sparrow 3 off Celica is the obvious and consistent A-skill for a purely player phase option, but she’s already got SS2 from back in the day, so the Oath would be the only thing she could inherit alongside that.  Every other SS3 option I have doesn’t give her anything useful.  Catherine’s Lull is terrible for her, and Summer Laegjarn is really for units who need the full chain of SS3 but don’t need other fodder.  Basically, this is the only option to get anything but a singular skill added to her repertoire, and I’m not wasting fodder.  I could give her an alternative A-skill for offensive sets.  I did mention Atk/Spd Solo.  But I really don’t love Solo skills for general content, because most maps pressure your units together and it’s really hard to get her isolated; you can’t always keep your units separate.  I guess Ideal would be a good one, since she’s buffed all the time, but currently that only exists on Louise and I would never.  So essentially this loops around from “SS3 is the only accessible fodder option” to “the only one I can give her that doesn’t make a waste of things is L!Celica” to “I guess I have to take the Oath skill so she has something else to use.”  Guess I should’ve pulled a Young Merric when he was around...

Windsweep could be an interesting option, since she really is designed to try nuking something in one attack, and can’t take the retaliation hit anyway.  And these Sweep skills are the future of the meta, I think, so it may not be a bad choice, necessarily.  A lot of her winning matchups are done in one shot, while her losing matchups are lost because of the foe retaliating and having easily enough attack to one-shot her, often through Sturdy Impact.
