Mikey

At 27, I'm a racer and my buddy is Kenchin! I dreamed of riding a motorcycle all the time. But my biggest dream was for Emma to have a good husband. Emma and Kenchin will soon have a child. And I asked them to put “万(man)” in the name, but they objected saying it’s lame. Does that mean they have thought my name was lame?

Hakkai

Taka-chan and my brother often go out together. They seem to get along very well. I don't like that they don't let me join. I like both of brothers but it pisses me off that neither of them are interested in me.

On the day of my birthday I came home and there was a strange smell like things had rotted and there were my brother, Yuzuha and Taka-chan. Apparently my brother and Yuzuha, who have never cooked before, asked him how to make a birthday cake and they made it for me. It tasted so bad but I was so happy and I cried because I could feel everyone's love.

Baji

Mansaku asks me to train children at the dojo sometimes. Mikey is not good at teaching others because he is a genius, so he prefers me to teach them. Teaching karate to kids is a nice change of pace from all the studying I usually do. Becoming a veterinarian is a difficult dream for me because I'm not very smart.

Sometimes when I feel like falling apart, sweating here helps me get my mind in order and I feel like I can try again. It’s my second home.

Takemichi

Now, at the age of 26, I'm an assistant director, working towards my dream of becoming a film director. Every day I do chores. Hina makes me box lunch every day. Every morning she sends me off with a "good luck" message. When I come home depressed, she joins me for evening drink and listens to me complain. I'm a lucky man.

Chifuyu

Baji and kazutora who don’t have much money always come to my house for dinner after work. It's almost like a freeloader behavior. But I can't ignore them because one of the reasons is that I don't give them much pay.

When I cooked for the first time, I was so frustrated they said it didn’t have much taste and it burnt, so I bought a lot of recipe books. Now my cooking skills are at a professional level. These days I look forward to when they come to my house.

Mitsuya

As a fashion designer, I launched the brand 'Mitsuya Takashi.' Among my assistants is Yasuda, who was vice president of the handicraft club in junior high school. Surprisingly Yasuda married Peh-yan, with whom she had been dogging him, last year. I often listen to her complaints after work. He still clings to Pah-chin even though they are married.

Draken

Mr. and Mrs. Hanagaki live downstairs from where Emma and I live. Takemichi cries to me, "Emma is at our house every day, and even though we are newlyweds, we can't be alone with Hina." Today, the four of us ate nabe together again.

Note: Translation isn’t 100% and I may take some liberties in translating certain things for a more colloquial approach. Anything in brackets are my personal notes.

Sano “Mikey” Manjiro:

I’m a racer at 27 years old and my partner is Ken-chin! My dream has always been riding bikes, but my number one dream is for Emma find a good husband. Her and Ken-chin’s child will be born soon; I told them to use “Man” [“万” from his own name “Manjiro” (万次郎). The "Man" in his name came from his grandfather's, Sano Mansaku, while the "Shin" in Shinichiro's name came from their dad, Sano Shin.] in their name, but was met with strong opposition from both of them and called it lame. Those guys… I started to wonder whether or not my own name was lame.

Shiba Hakkai:

Taka-chan and my older brother seem to hang out a lot and they didn’t even think to invite me along. I like both my brothers, but it annoys me neither one of them take an interest in me. When I went home for my birthday, something smelled like it was rotting and my big brother, Yuzuha and Taka-chan were all there. It looked like they were trying to make a birthday cake for me, with Taka-chan teaching them. It tasted horrible and I cried from happiness from them trying to express their love.

Baji Keisuke:

Mansaku-san [Mikey’s grandfather] asked me to train and teach at Sano Dojo once in a while. Even though Mikey is a prodigy, he’s terrible at teaching and seems like I’m better at this than him. Immersing myself in teaching kids karate on top of my daily studies became a good change of pace for me. I want to be a veterinarian but I’m not very smart, so it’s a long and distant dream. Whenever I feel frustrated, sweating it out [in the dojo] mentally prepares me to keep doing my best. It’s my second home.

Hanagaki Takemichi:

At 26 years old, I’m currently an assistant director with a dream of becoming a film director. Everyday is an odd job, but Hina makes me a bento everyday. Before I head out every morning, she tells me “Do your best!”. When I come home completely disheartened, she’ll drink with me over dinner while listening to me complain. I’m a very lucky guy.

Matsuno Chifuyu:

Baji-san and Kazutora-kun always comes over to my house to eat since they have no money; it’s almost like extortion. But I can’t raise their wages without a reason and I can’t exactly refuse either. When the 3 of us cooked for the first time, the food was a mess, burnt and tasted thin. After suffering through that, I went out and bought tons of recipe books. Now, I’m cooking for 3 at a pro-level. They’ve recently been coming over, happily waiting for me.

Mitsuya Takashi:

While establishing my fashion brand TAKASHI MITSUYA as a designer, I hired Yasuda-san as my assistant, my assistant manager from the Handicraft Club back in middle school. She somehow married Peh-yan last year, even though their relationship were on bad terms. I hear Yasuda-san grumbling about him often while we’re working. From what I heard, Peh stuck with Pa-chin even after being married.

Ryuguji “Draken” Ken:

Emma and I live on the lower floor in the same apartment complex as Takemitchy and his wife. He came crying to me saying, “Even though we’re newlyweds, Emma-chan’s at my place every day and I can’t be alone with Hina.” The 4 of us are eating nabe [hot pot] together again.

Do you have any nicknames for the characters in the game? Since some of their names are quite long or hard to pronounce.

I was thinking of MC actually calling them by some of the nicknames/shortened I kinda came up with, and the shorter named characters are jealous that they don't have their own nicknames.

Some examples could be like I call Gabriel, Gabby, but when it comes to Satan it's just Satan. If he's jealous I was thinking MC could call him "Tantan" 😂 then with Sitri, since in the Japanese pronunciation, his name is "Shi-to-ri" instead, so why not call him "Tori", aka birds in Japanese. Leraye could be just "Raye", while Paimon can be "Pai-chan" or "MonMon." Then there's Asta(roth), Beli(al) and Za(gan)-chan.

How would you even give nickname to Bael, Amon and Stolas. I can call Naberius, Nabe, but calling Amon, A, is funny. My brain suddenly said call Bael, Baa, like straight up do sheep noises at him. And maybe from our knowledge of some of the human interpretation of Stolas is an owl, we could call him Stowlas even though he's a raven(or crow...I forgot which one 😭 if it was crow, MC could call him Crowlas...)

Calling Michael, Mike, right in front of his face and watch his face twist with anger. Raph ain't that bad, so he probably won't be as angry as Mike would.

I will be honest, nicknames are not usually my thing. I drop pet names all the time, but actual nicknames? Those take me a long time because they have to really fit the character. Like, I almost feel I can't shorten Leviathan's name because of how serious he always is (and because Levi is the OM brother in my mind). Beelzebub gets shortened to Bell all the time. I know it should be Beel, technically, but the game uses both spellings interchangeably (and Beel, again, is the OM boy to me).

Satan is just Satan, Sitri is Sitri, and so on. Nicknames come over time as I learn more about characters. Although, when I'm speaking, I will call Glayalabolas "Glass" because I cannot pronounce his name to save my life. Valephor needs a nickname immediately, like how I nickname my stuffed toys. Man would love it.

Bael's nickname is "Mine"

So I found out that ginger anime girl character is Ouka Chan. She comes from a 2D side scroller shoot-em up called Nitro-Wars, that came in a set of games on the Sabato Nabe - Nitro Amusement disk which is a collection of porn games (Yea, found that one out the hard way) however I couldn't find out if Nitro Wars itself was a porn game itself.

Here's some screenshots I found. I couldn't find a fuctional emulator for it, so I think tbe only way to play it is to buy the whole collection. It's a shame, cause I also love her design!

Ooh thank you bi-trick! She's so cute! It's crazy that these days even relatively mainstream characters haven't gotten nendos yet but characters like this were relevant enough back then to get two! And uh. I guess I also see why her nendos aren't listed on the English site lol.

Hey friend, I was wondering: What are some of your favourite experiences from when you lived/worked in Japan?

Aw friend! This is a fantastic ask! I have so many great memories of being in Japan that I am delighted to share with you!

My favourite experiences from what I lived and worked in Japan

-Kappazushi: In case you don't know, Kappazushi is a conveyor sushi restaurant chain. While there are many different conveyor sushi restaurants, I like Kappazushi the best. Also, they have kappa as their mascot. 10/10.

-My parents + sister visiting me: My first year in Japan my parents and sister came to visit me during Christmas. They saw the school I was working at, my classes, and then toured around Tokyo with me. It was a lot of fun and I have a lot of happy memories.

-Staff dinners: Every three months the staff would have a dinner at the local restaurant. It was always a lot of fun and my favourite part was during autumn/winter they'd serve nabe (hotpot).

-Getting lost on the way to my own farewell party: We held my farewell/going away party in Nagano-shi and I didn't realize the restaurant was on the fourth floor of the building. I walked past it and Google Maps wasn't helping. They ended up sending three of my coworkers to come find me. How embarrassing.

-Maid Cafe in Akihabara: Before I left Japan I spent two days in Tokyo. On my first day I went to a maid cafe. The staff were panicking because "we don't speak a lot of English" (I know enough Japanese to get by). Coincidently there was another English speaking person there at the same time. They sat me beside this person LOL. We had a nice hour chat at the very least.

-@a-little-harmed-shinra visiting me: I'm still so happy that Yuki managed to visit me! I was so happy and had a lot of fun going around Tokyo with them! Shout out to our first day in Tokyo where it rained while we were at the Tower and that doujinshi store that became gayer the higher up we went.

-Wearing a kimono to Kinkaku-ji and having a foreign couple want a photo of me: I was gifted a kimono and wanted to wear it while I was in Japan. I ended up wearing it to Kinhaku-ji where this couple wanted my photo. I felt very cool in that moment.

-USJ (Universal Studios Japan): The same trip when I was at Kinkaju-ji I went to USJ. It was right around the time the live action Attack on Titan movie was out too, so I was able to see the props and a sculpture of the wall post S1. One of my favourite photos I took.

-Danjiri-matsuri: If you've never experienced the Danjiri-matsuri in Osaka, I highly encourage it. It's my favourite festival and I love my Nakamachi shirt.

-Being short change for the parkade and needing to ask a stranger for 120 yen: This was so embarrassing! I emptied all my change and only had a 5000 yen note. I thought I could slip out and break it at the convenience store right beside the parkade but a lady was waiting to leave. I didn't have the Japanese to tell her my plan so instead I asked her for 120 yen.

-Visiting the Pokemon Centre in Ikebukuro: Honestly, one of the coolest stores in Japan. I took a lot of fun pictures and while I didn't buy a lot, I have some items that are very cute.

-Homemade noodles in my village: Where I lived we had cute little old grannies making homemade noodles all the time. I didn't realize how spoiled I was until I had ramen somewhere else.

-"Yamada Denki!": There is an electronics store in Japan named Yamada Denki. They have this little jingle that is stuck in my brain for eternity.

-Buying my own kotatsu: My first year there I had to buy myself my own kotatsu. Sadly I couldn't take it with me home, but I love my little kotatsu and had fun picking it out.

-ARUKUMA-CHAN: Arukuma is the mascot of the prefecture I lived in and I love Arukuma with all my heart. There is a statue of Arukuma in the Nagano-eki so if you're ever there, please check him out.

-Oyaki: My beloved... I miss you... especially nozawana.
