A garchomp caring for a fidough reader?
How did a little Fidough like you come to befriend someone as terrifying as Garchomp?
Well, it all started when you were rescued from an aggressive pack of Maschiff, led by a Mabosstiff who accused you of trespassing on their turf. You genuinely didn't think you were intruding, and apologized profusely.
Unfortunately, they wanted to teach you a "valuable lesson", and ended up backing you into a corner.
Or rather..near the edge of a cliff.
At the time, you didn't have any fairy-type moves that could help you get out of this troubling situation. All you could do was shuffle backwards as the Maschiffs stalked closer to you, ignoring your pleas for them to leave you alone.
But just when it seemed like you were doomed...
A Garchomp suddenly swooped down, standing between you and the group of mean dog Pokémon, putting on their best Scary Face.
They ended up exposing the Mabosstiff as a Zorua, causing the whole pack to scatter. None of them dared to test a Garchomp's might.
You thanked them over and over for saving your life, only for them to snarl about how you were all making a fuss near a Gible den they were watching over--hence the reason for their intervention.
Despite this, you had no fear of the dragon/ground type and vowed to become their friend that day.
And yet...they never actually did anything to scare you off, nor did they consider flying to another part of Paldea to be rid of you forever.
You refused to leave their side, following them around like a Pawmi counting steps with its trainer.
Understandably, they got annoyed with this and insisted you left them be, saying you shouldn't get so attached to them.
What you did have, however, were baby-doll eyes that proved super effective against them when you pleaded to stay with them, as you really had nowhere else to go. And you felt in debt to them for rescuing you.
It's not that they were afraid of you for being a fairy type. If anything, it was the least of their concerns. They were far stronger than you.
Heck, you could barely hurt them with Play Rough even if you learned that.
So...they eventually gave in.
That day, Garchomp found out they're weak to fairy types both in...and outside of battles.
............
"Where are we going??"
"Into this cavern."
"What's here???"
"..my home. It will be cold tonight. So we must hurry."
"Okay!!" Wagging your round tail, your stumpy legs raced to catch up with the tall dragon Pokémon as you both entered the cave.
Garchomp could see the little Sableyes who made their home here stare at them, and then you, confusion written all over their faces.
Luckily the ghosts only had an appetite for gems, or else you'd be dessert.
They wondered what life was like for a Pokémon who so-happened to resemble human food, as they were quite common in this region. They've seen very few Fidoughs, and even fewer Daschbunds out in the wild.
Apparently this was because humans domesticated a majority of them for their yeast breath...or so Garchomp overheard.
To them, it just seemed like an abuse of your species. So they were surprised to see you didn't belong to any trainer or bakery owner.
You were still a wild Fidough trying to find your place in this big world.
Eventually, you entered Garchomp's "home": a small nest made from various clothes trainers left behind on the mountains, leaves and sticks from trees....and plenty of shiny evolution stones they've collected over the past few months.
While you were excited to see all the precious gems and trinkets, you heard grumbling noises and noticed they were getting situated in their nest, ready to doze off.
They shut their eyes, only for them to snap open seconds later upon feeling you snuggle underneath their wing. Their golden gaze was stern as they slightly lifted their arm up, confused. "What're you doing?"
"Keeping you warm!" You smiled. "You said it'll be cold tonight, right?"
"....I guess I did. Fine. You can stay there. Just don't..fidget too much." Huffing through their nostrils, they shut their eyes once more, curling up.
Although you were still overcome with excitement over successfully befriending this dragon, the trek to their den made you quite tired.
Soon enough exhaustion overcame you, too. With a small yawn, you curled up into a ball and closed your eyes.
And you drifted off to sleep alongside your new best friend, eager for whatever tomorrow may bring.

It actually baffles me that people actually complained about like. “Back in my day, Pokemon used to actually evolve! Now they just get… bigger!!” to gen 9 Pokémon, specifically Pawmi/Pawmo/Pawmot.
May I kindly remind you of these two fucks from your precious, most prized, and innocent generation 1 who could absolutely never do you wrong?

are there any new pokemon/forms added in ScarVi that you really like?
(clodsire, greavard, skeledirge, and koraidon my beloveds)
Koraidon my beloved I picked Scarlet specifically because I love Koraidon and the whole ancient aesthetic that they having going on for that game (no offense to high tech sci-fi futurism Violet of course). This was, of course, a problem because I also love Ceruledge so much that design is amazing and Amarouge just does not hold a candle to that.
I love Sprigatito and Floragato, Quaxly is precious, and I will confess that Fuecoco was my starter so I too know the love that is Skeledirge
I am also mildly obsessed with the Smoliv line, particularly Dolliv and how they brush out their dressy leaves when you wash them, it's adorable
Despite hating it on first sight I have gotten weirdly attached to Lokix (I plan on training one at some point just because I'm curious)
My need for early game electric types continues and I honestly love the design sensibilities for Pawmi in particular (I caught a shiny recently and I'm still kind of agog about it)
Fidough and Dachsbun. I love breb dogs. The Well-Baked Body ability is also inspired and if not for the fact that I had a fairy type I wanted for my main game team I would have kept the pup I grabbed early on (his name is Sourdough and I have him in reserve for later)
TINKATON MY BELOVED. There are certain aspects of the design that don't quite work for me so I may fuss around at some point with it, but honestly the little pink 'mon with the giant fucking hammer is inspired and yes I named mine Hilda
Clodsire is so very friend-shaped. I grabbed a Wooper named Charlie for early game assistance and she actually ended up out-leveling my starter because of how much I ended up using her, I love her so much (she's also in reserve for later use like Sourdough)
I have become weirdly fond of Farigaraf?? I don't even know when it happened. They scare me but I love them. I want one.
Tatsugiri. I love the sushimon I need ten. also how did that sushi learn to speak
Glimmora kind of fasciantes me?? I want to give one a try at some point just because they are oddly pretty like stone flowers (and after I accidentally got myself attached the Nacli line by training one I suspect that it'll be over for me once I take that Glimmet for a spin)
Chien-Pao and Chi-Yu. Holy cow. Sabertooth snow leopard and magatama goldfish, they are perfection made manifest.
Iron Thorns is just Mecha Godzilla and I kind of love it I want one
I am really attached to these games and their native pokemon okay and I already have trouble picking favorites so this is what you get

what do you think of the new pokemon Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv in the new pokemon scarlet and violet trailer?
omg a pokémon ask, thank you
Tumblr media
I did start screaming when i saw Pawmi, but the excitement sort of wore off. Call me crazy, but I feel like we’ve done the electric mouse thing before. So much of it is so similar to Pikachu, that I was surprised it wasn’t a regional variant. then again, i’m not opposed to an electric hamster, and omg i love the design so so much. at the end of the day, it’s super cute and i would die for it.
Tumblr media
Lechonk is perfect and I will accept 0 criticism. look at this mf!! a normal type pig?? love it. LOVE IT. whenever they bring in real-world-esque pokémon, i feel more connected to the game. i can’t wait to see the absolute beast of a hog it evolves into. i kinda hope it becomes normal/rock, if only bc i need to see it use rollout.
Tumblr media
Smoliv has a face I just TRUST. I know i’m biased bc grass types are my favorites, but my god is it precious. i’ve been trying to figure out its future evols too. the thing on its head could be a tulip, but that feels too close to Budew. I’m wondering if, bc we’re kinda in a Mediterranean region, it’s an olive that becomes a sorta tree. i would love a non-Sudowoodo tree Pokémon!!
overall, the game looks fantastic. i’m so hyped for pokémon centers to be partially-exposed bc my lazy butt gets so exhausted w the scene transition into the building. the open world design is gorgeous but i can’t wait to see more of the cities! i feel like sword and shield got a little underwhelming with cities, but this game looks ambitious.
also the legendaries are 🤤🤤. Scarlet’s (Koraidon) is a lot, i’ll admit, but i love his dopey face. Violet’s (Miraodon) is straight up gorgeous, though a lil phallic.
but the only thing that matters is the character design for Professor Sada. Sorry!! i’m in love!!!! the female professors are always so hot
Tumblr media
what do you think??

Oh look, more new pokemon opinions. 44-53
Frigibax
The Ice Fin Pokemon, a dragon/ice dual-type which is nice to see, I just have no idea what it’s supposed to be. At first look it looks like somebody tried to cross a frog and a koala. Fingers crossed the pokedex will be informative there. Until then, it has the new ability Thermal Exchange that makes it immune to burn and raises it’s attack when hit with a fire move. Apparently they live in forests and craggy areas, absorbing heat and then converting that heat into cold that it uses to chill it’s nest.
4/10, I have no idea what this it besides an air conditioner
Arctibax
Okay, at least this fucker looks like something. I sailfin dinosaur I guess? Or maybe one of those fuckers from before the dinosaurs, I know the name but damned it I can remember it off the top of my head. Don’t care, bitches look like something now. They freeze the air around them into an ice mask for their face and to turn their back fin into an ice blade, which they attack with by doing a front flip.
5/10, I have an idea what it is now, still not impressed
Baxcalibur
The Ice Dragon Pokemon that wants to be Godzilla. Seriously, it looks like a knock-off ice Godzilla pared way the fuck down. Again, maybe the 3d model is better, but this isn’t doing it for me. It launches itself into battle by flipping upside down and blasting freezing air at the enemy. Finishes them off with it’s dorsal blade, probably with another flip.
4/10, I know what it is now and it’s lost points for it
~
Tatsugiri
The Mimicry Pokemon, water/dragon dual type (never gonna complain about more of them). It looks like something you’d see in Putt-Putt, and I mean that in the most loving way. Comes in three color variations as well. New ability- Commander: goes into Dondozo’s mouth, can no longer take dmamage, Dondozo can no longer switch out, Dondozo’s stats go up two stages. Well that’s not too fucking broken. Apparently the forms change depending on where they were caught and are as follows- Curly Form: described by the pokedex as living inside Dondozo’s mouth to protect itself, also extremely cunning, it feigns weakness to lure in prey. Droopy Form: pokedex explains that the different forms are to better attract different prey, also that it plays dead to attract prey and uses it’s intelligence to survive despite being small and weak. Stretchy Form: Tatsugiri is, according to this one’s dex entries, one of the smartest dragon pokemon, this one hunts bird pokemon with it’s Dondozo partner and inflates it’s throat sac to lure then in.
8/10, not the best dragon ever, but certainly delightful in its own way
~
Cyclizar
Everyone knows this one by now. It’s a dragon, it’s a motorcycle, it’s a friend. Precious thing and the best dragon of this gen so far in these reviews. They’re depicted in 10k year old murals letting people ride them, can reach 70 mph, and enjoy the warmth human riders give off. It’s a mutual relationship.
9/10, good lizard
~
Pawmi
“Achi! Look! An electric type!” To which I can only say... eh? Not really impressed. I mean, look at the competition! Bellibolt exists! And Pawmi... tries, bless it’s little heart. It’s an electric type and so I give it more benefit that I would otherwise, but it’s not doing it for me. The sacs on it’s cheeks are underdeveloped and it needs to rub them to get them to generate power, the pads of it’s paws, meanwhile, can also generate power but to use it they have to stand up on their hind legs and they’re not good at it.
6/10, a serviceable electric type
Pawmo
Electric/fighting now, nice combo, it’s gotten lighter and can stand on it’s hind legs now. They defend their groups with attacks that combine hand strikes with zaps of electricity... Okay, they learn Thunder Punch, I’d have had to kill somebody.
6/10, still serviceable
Pawmot
The Hands-On Pokemon. Once a Pawmo walks 100 steps in the overworld they evolve, get darker, and get scruffy looking. Or maybe just fluffy looking. It’s fur can store as much power as an electric car, and while they’re slow to reach they’re lightning fast.
7/10, a bit better
~
Wattrel
We have a flying type, this is not a drill! And it’s an electric type too! The Storm Petrel Pokemon, with the new ability Wind Power- getting hit with a wind move boosts the power of it’s next electric attack. It looks, like a bird, bit of blue-grey, bit of black, bit of yellow. Makes me think a little of batteries and a lot of seagulls for something that’s not a seagull. These pokemon’s bones generate electricity while they coast along on the wind, then they use it to stun their prey while they dive into the water for them. Their nests are built on cliffs, have a crackly texture, and are- you guessed it- fucking eaten. This region, man.
6.5/10, it’s a good bird
Kilowattrel
Oh, this fucker looks cool. Darker colors, a more defined shape, the Frigatebird Pokemon is definitely an upgrade. A poor swimmer, it stores the electricity it’s wings generate in it’s throat sac. It can cover over 430 miles in a day.
8/10, better bird
~~~
Can’t have too many electric types, you really can’t
Alright, after playing through Scarlet for the past few days, I'm gonna give my two cents.
Some spoilers ahead.
Did Game Freak drop the ball? On some stuff, yes. We'll get my biggest issue with the game out of the way first. And that's the lack of character customization outside of the very beginning of the game. I don't like the fact that you're locked into one variant of the school uniform the entire game. I don't like this, because I went to a school that required a uniform.
And for the majority of the game, you're outside of the school. Yes, for a big school project, but the school can't enforce a region wide uniform policy on its students, especially when one is aiming to be champion. Now I know you can go back to the school to attend classes and take tests. But have there be a mechanic that puts your character back in the uniform before they can reenter the school.
Because I don't wanna become champion of the Pokemon League wearing a shirt and tie. No, I wanna become champion wearing comfy pants, cowboy boots, and a Garchomp hoodie!
Next thing is the designs of the Pokemon. Oooo boy... most of them are seriously mid designs. Wigglet, the Pawmi line, Tandemouse, hell, Finizen is just a blue dolphin with a ring on its tail! And don't get me started on what they did with Tentacool...
The legendaries are meh, but the story they're part of is really good.
And one final complaint, before I get to the good stuff about this game. And this is really a mishap on my part. I didn't realize that the way higher leveled Pokemon obeyed due to how many badges you have had changed. It's no longer all Pokemon up to X level depending on the number of gym badges. It's now Pokemon you catch up to a certain level will obey due to X number of gym badges. I didn't realize that until I got to the ice gym leader, who wiped the floor with me because my team was seriously underleveled.
Alright, onto the good stuff.
The three stories. Especially Arven's! Won't say anymore so as to not spoil it. But I would have 100% done the same in his shoes!
Team Star are essentially the juvenile delinquents/social outcasts of the school.
There are good Pokemon designs. Wooper, the Tinkafluff line. The giant fucking catfish who's name escapes me. The pompador/electric flying birds who's names also escape me. And if anyone starts hating on my precious croissant Fidough, I will personally introduce you to my Greavard!
And let's not forget about the pseudo-legendary! I mean come on! It's Godzilla for fucks sake!
KLAWF!!
Scarlet and Violet Thoughts
So, I saw the trailer for SV this morning, and I’m hyped as hell for it!  We don’t have much new Pokemon to see yet, but this trailer has given us five new creatures, all wonderful in their own ways, and also some room for speculation with the plot!
Under the cut since it’ll be long
We’ll be starting with my little rambles first off:
The plot seems really interesting with the hints we have so far, with a pair of a pair of rival schools competing against each other.  There seems to be themes of tradition versus progress, which are also very interesting, and I’m excited to see where the game goes with this.
I’m wondering if we’ll have multiple rivals, I know there’s Nemona, but since there’s rival schools, there might be multiple rivals.  I think it would be a bit weird for a character’s personality to change between versions.  Maybe Nemona just wants to be neutral, with both schools having their own rivals.
I LOVE the details on the new mons, especially Miraidon’s eyes.
Idk if anyone else noticed but I noticed a Sprigatito following the player character, so if that means what I think it does, that’s cool!
A lot of people have commented on this but the professors have great designs
I might actually choose Fuecoco as my starter, now that I think about it.  Also, I’m going with Scarlet, since I prefer both the box legendary and professor for that game.
Okay so now I’ll discuss the new mons
Tumblr media
The trailer gave use this region’s Pikaclone, Pawmi.  Honestly, I don’t like Pikaclones in general, they’re all rather meh (except for Mimikyu, if you count it as a Pikaclone).  I will at least say Pawmi is very cute, though I’m a little confused as to why they’re pure electric, while the four previous gens have have dual-typed Pikaclones.  I kind of wonder if they might evolve, which would be interesting to see with the Pikaclones.  6/10, a lot more than I can say for most Pikaclones.
Tumblr media
We also got the common normal mammal of the region, which is named... Lechonk.  Yes, really.  While all the normal type mammals are kind of boring, that is their basic purpose, and it’s at least fun to see a pig among the mix of rodents and other small mammals.  Also, they’re goshdarn adorable, and I love the name.  6.5/10
Tumblr media
But the best of the early route mons revealed so far would have to be Smoliv, a tiny little Grass/Normal type (...interesting combo).  And they are so goshdarn fucking PRECIOUS.  Look at that perfect little face.  LOOK AT IT.  LOOK AT THE BABY (9/10)
Tumblr media
...uhhhh maybe I got off track there.  Anyway!  We’ve also had the box legendaries revealed to us, and I absolutely love both of them.  While I somewhat prefer Koraidon (the box legend of Scarlet), both are amazing designs.  Miraidon has an awesome futuristic vibe to them, with their electric accents, engine legs, and their pixel eyes (seriously those eyes are amazing).  Meanwhile, Koraidon has a cool rugged appearance, with more natural and overall lizardy features, but what I really love is their neck, which both looks like a wheel and like the spiky necks of some reptiles in real life!  Both would definitely be 9.5/10, both of them are wonderful babies and I love them
