Listen I'm absolutely willing to give you sources (though, and I don't mean this in a mean-spirited way, you could also google it because it's not exactly an obscure fact or anything and there's plenty of info available, which leads to a lot of delightful rabbit holes) but what interests me more is... why do you have a hard time believing Egypt had lettuce?

Ancient Egypt also had cucumbers and chick peas and green onions and barley and grapes and coriander and ... oh, I could go on for a while here listing foods that people may not necessarily think of when they think about Egypt, for whatever reason.

Anyway, while I await your answer, here's a relief showing an offering table with lettuce, from the tomb of Khu at Abydos (Middle Kingdom):

This depiction may not necessarily read as any lettuce we know, but as stated before the lettuce would have been a variety of romaine. The ancient Egyptians liked to portray things not the way we see them with our own eyes, but in a way that in a sense shows the sum of all its parts. This is why we see both shoulders, for example, and the eye from the front even though the face is facing sideways. So in this case, that means elongating the lettuce so that the observer can see it’s a crop that consists of multiple leaves.

Man in Critical Condition After Car Hits House

Two men were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday night after the car they were in ploughed into a house in Barrhead. The female aged 77 driver was uninjured, two men aged 60 and 66 were taken to the QEH in Glasgow, the 60 year old was released. Police are appealing for anyone with information, cctv or dash cam to contact them via 101 quoting ref 2804 of 24/04/2024.

Here are the root verbs. If you like, you can go back to the earlier drills and translate what you hear on the sound files, and what is presented in the text.

In every case, the translation is in the present tense - is/are X ...?, Does / do X ...? - or even in the future tense - Will X ...?.
