The sting of irritation wars with the swell of the new-familiar-unfamiliar emotion rising in Vegas’ chest as Pete secures them together, helping Vegas back to the bed. Why, sits at the back of his tongue, Pete’s smile at the high-pitched sound of protest in Vegas’ throat only pushing it harder against his teeth.

“I could’ve made it on my own,” he bites out, bitter, though his voice lacks much force. Pete only seems to press himself closer in response, the heat of him so near muddling everything else until it becomes wholly unimportant.

“I know,” is the soft reply, hand tightening on Vegas’ where it lays on his shoulder, “I just want to be use— just want to help, that’s all.” The slip-up doesn’t escape Vegas’ notice, squeezing with something tight and painful around his chest — Pete’s smile no longer present as they stop and he looks up to Vegas, all at once hesitant and so, so vulnerable. “Can I?”

Vegas swallows, spit like sawdust in his dried-out mouth.

“I need a shave,” is what comes out instead.

Finally finished editing that months-old post-canon VP fic, omgg 😩 Hopefully I can write my rambling notes tomorrow and post it too! That'd be nice.

Well, the epilogue for LitA is at 3,5k rn, and since I don't see it being longer than 4,5-5k, it seems more and more possible I'll be able to finish my baby up before the year ends 😁😁 And woah, what a feeling that is...

I've managed even less than yesterday, but at least I wrote something and reached a lil' over 1k overall, so I'll take it. And I think I've got a more clear idea for this one-shot now, it's shaping up to become a 5+1 thingy and gotta say, writing those small, no pressure, just for fun scenes is quite nice. Hopefully it'll be one of those wips I manage to finish up 🙈
