Saw a recent post that got me thinking about the difference between the AI used by House and Benny respectively. Especially how they reflect on their ideals and personalities. Namely between Victor and Yes Man

Yes Man lives up to his name. He quite literally can’t say no. He’s been programmed to agree and comply. That being said: that doesn’t mean he doesn’t make his opinions clear- and he BOY does he have opinions. He has a full personality! No matter where he goes, who you talk about, what you suggest, you can tell what he’s thinking through tone or how he phrases something. He’s sarcastic! He’s playful! He’s prideful! Additionally, he’s been built with a contingency plan where he can be uploaded to any other securitron in a moments notice.

Victor, meanwhile, is outwardly incredibly friendly and warm! When you first meet him in goodsprings he’s clearly a staple of the community, even if the townsfolk don’t quite understand him, and he’s been there for years. He saves the courier, and provides what insight he can when you talk to him. However, the closer you get to Vegas, the less he sounds like himself, until you get to the Lucky 38 and he’s clearly just an AI. Something being controlled. A false personality put on display to entertain and endear.

I think it highlights what Benny and House value.

Benny wants power, and for someone to follow his plan to the letter. But, beneath the veneer of compliance, personality remains. Independence, individuality, those are fully on display. House wants compliance, and to cement himself as the one in charge. In removing individuality, he secures his place as leader of masses which might be able to do as they please, but largely have to listen to him and him alone.

Random ass au where a certain someone is a magical girl.

Not who you'd think.

So, as Vlad was straight up dying on his hospital bed cursing Jack and his life choices to hell and back, a magical little creature just pops by his bedside and asks "Yo you wanna be a magical girl?"

Vlad, who was entirely sure he was hallucinating went fuck it and said yes.

A while later Vlad finds himself fighting against magical beings he was sure as well didn't exist before this. Well, he knew ghosts existed but not any other magical/mystical being.

It all just seemed a bunch of honeybunch to him.

All of this in a cutesy dress he was sure he never would have worn -or afforded actually- before that fateful day that he can surprisingly pull off really, very well.

He's so busy enjoying his newfound freedom and fighting against magical creatures for so long that he just genuinely forgets that the Fenton family existed. At least, until he was invited over to Amity Park via letter and decides to meet his old friends in the flesh.

Surely, him being out of the game for a few days wouldn't lead to anything bad, right?

He meets Jack and Maddie, then their children who he was sure they didn't have any of. He's a bit off put by Jasmine, because he doesn't have any unresolved trauma thank you. Then he's a bit suspicious of Daniel because the boy is quite literally on the verge of pinging his magical senses but also far away from doing so.

Not to mention the mention the entire surge of energy coming from their basement.

But this is a vacation and so if nothing is wrong, then he doesn't have to deal with it. He's just here to relax, maybe do a bit of sightseeing, try not to murder Jack Fenton and maybe investigate what's up with Daniel.

Unfortunately, he wasn't that lucky.

Two things happen at the same time. One, a ghost attack and two, a monster attack. Vlad is just, incredulous at this because it was fine for all of the two days here, of course he does the whole transformation thing and does his job.

Then he finds out why Daniel was so close yet so far from pinging his senses. Because the boy is literally like him except for the fact that he transforms into a ghost instead of a magical girl and, conveniently, Daniel also finds out his secret.

It was going so well too.

heres an old comic i gave up on </3 it was a better idea in my head..

its a bit incomprehensible but basically i like the concept of villian eating the sidekick of their hero nemesis to lure them into a trap. But also. I think it would be funny/angsty if the hero didnt even bother saving them and just assumed the sidekick was a lost cause.

It's been a hell of a fortnight, which has shaken up all my self-doubts and insecurity regarding TGMY. Like, is this a dumb idea? In a fandom with so much fanon, will me building my own vision of the Watford era be unwelcome or seen as arrogant? For example, having no DeNiall and giving them my own invented surnames? Or will I bother someone with my own interpretations of how magic works, or how pre-CO canon events went down, or what creatures like paindeer might be like? But I also know I don't care when someone else does that (in fact I love other people's interpretations of this stuff) and this is just crappy brain self-talk.
