We are Afflatus Africa, what We have achieved in 2018
In December, 2017, we have decided to start Afflatus Africa with a mission of promoting the intergenerational exchange through mentorship and career guidance to build a strong and impactful legacy to our beloved Africa.
We have trained 430 youth on the benefits and impacts of volunteering in solving unemployment, and we help them to get jobs and internships by linking them with companies
We have organized 1st Annual *Conquerors Conference from 8th to 10th August* that aims to Unveil African youths' full potential to conquer African greatest challenges by finding solutions with in them.
From April 2018 we organize reading for change a monthly event that brings together Authors, Readers, writers, librarians and publishers for networking and discussing how we can develop and improve the culture of Reading and writing. Now 9 editions have been organized.
We have established Clubs in high schools that we facilitate on weekly basis in their fields of interests like journalism, Writing and entrepreneurship.
We have paid subscription for 5 high school students at Kigali public library with a goal of subscribing 20 students every year to encourage parents to subscribe their children and give them access to books.
We have also launched and worked on Live your dream a program that provides a caring, inclusive learning environment to young people through a series of activities such as onsite learning, camps and competitions.
And "Inspired to inspire project" which aims to provide a platform that helps old generation to impact the community by sharing their stories and opinions/tribulation/experience to help young generation in different fields in career development and goals achieving. In a variety of mentorship programs and career guidance sessions, provision of package of skills and experiences are ensured through positive discussions that will move youthβ s potential to success.
