Fo3 Companions Realizing They're In Love With Lone

Charon opts to ignore it. He's got a job to do and is bound by contract. His feelings don't matter for this transaction to work and now is no different. Despite it all, he can't help but notice how much more inclined he is to be of service to you — always offering to take the night shift, or more aware of his surroundings than he normally would be. He's never been so fond of the person holding his contract and it makes him feel so conflicted. What would you say? Would you sell him off if you found out? He's a ghoul, for Godsake, what 19-year-old teen would want him?

Clover isn't sure how to act, so she'll act in the only way she's known how — sexually. She'll run her hands across your shoulders and whisper lowly into your ears just so she can get the message across to you, but in all honesty, she truly isn't sure what it is she feels for you. It'll take he a minute to sit down and think everything over before she comes to the realization that she's in love with you. Once she figures it out, she'll tone her erotic actions toward you down, opting to instead bring you flowers, or clean up around your home. She tries to mimic you in how you treat her, hoping that it'll eventually make you feel the same for her as she does you.

Star Paladin Cross feels a bit conflicted about her feelings for you as you're the kid she helped escort to the vault. She's well aware of her body modifications and the sheer age gap between you two and would, therefore, try to extinguish these feelings at all costs. You two weren't meant to be together, and she needs to get a grip before this turns into anything more than you and her being comrades.

Jericho doesn't care if you catch on to how he feels or not, he'll just pin you up against a wall and try to get you flustered. This has always been his way of showing someone that he's interested in them and he'll stick with this method until you say something about it. He's constantly in your face — whether he be throwing his arms around you or squishing your cheeks between his fingers. He loves the way you swat at him and the cute way you roll your eyes at his antics, however, he doesn't realize that he's in love until you get injured badly. Then reality will hit him and he'll (slightly) drop his douchy act and make an actual attempt at wooing you.

Butch tries to play it off and act the same as he always has, but every time he's around you he can't help but fall into a blushing, flustered mess. He's a teenager who's never actually been in love before, and he hates every second of it. Who do you think you are anyway? Walking around as if you're blissfully unaware of his feelings toward you. He gets meaner towards you — teasing you more often and tripping you whenever the chance arises — but it's only to help try and mask his intentions. He'll only put the pieces together when someone else tries to flirt with you, then he'll pull his pocket knife out, scare the guy off, and go right back to how he was before — a bumbling mess.

Fawkes knew he loved you the second you broke him out of that vault, however, he's well aware of how he looks and would never dream of putting you into a situation like that, so he keeps it to himself. He'll be polite to you — always opening doors and offering to hold onto the heavier items and weapons you may possess, but that's the extent of it. He's older than you and would hate to hold you down in any way, so he'll love you from afar and risk his life for you any chance he gets. It's the only way he can think of to pay you back for being so kind toward him.

If you haven't done it already, how would the fallout 3 guys act around a lone wanderer that he has caught feelings for and what is his initial reaction to realizing that he HAS caught feelings for the lone wanderer?

Butch: It started as really small things. The way Lone looked by the campfire light. Hearing their voice call his name. When they worried about him after a fight. All these things made him feel.. something. He was never quite sure what that feeling was. Until one day, Butch sat against a wall, catching his breath after a long day of walking. With no warning, Lone crouched in front of him, "dude your hair's all messed up." They started fixing his hair for him. The closeness made his heart lurch. He instinctively threw his head back, smacking it against the wall. "Holy shit are you okay??!" Lone worried. "Yeah I'm fine. Whatever." Butch held his head in his hands. Thankfully they couldn't see his beet red face.

Clover: Clover has always liked Lone, from the second they got her out of Eulogy's grip. Her affinity for them wasn't much of a secret either. She loved to hang on them, and flirt with them whenever she could. The longer they traveled together, the more she really started to care for them. The moment she knew she really liked Lone, was when they pointed to an old pre-war dress and told her it would look good on her. She doubled down on her physical touch and flirting, to the point that it started to get annoying.

Charon: Charon and Lone's relationship was complicated. They held onto his contract after all. He was bound to them whether he liked it or not. They were never unkind to him though, and he never took it for granted. On a routine visit to Underworld, Lone was busy in the general store. Charon, waiting outside, was asked by a resident how Lone was treating him. Thinking over his memories of them, he realized just how much they meant to him. With an imperceivable smile on his face, he replied simply, "they treat me well."

Dogmeat: idk why I keep adding the dogs at this point lol

Jericho: Being the cold, hardened old man that he was, Jericho didn't feel many girly emotions. (as he would put it) LIKING someone has been outside of his realm of possibilities for decades. He would never admit it, but he developed a soft spot for Lone. Going out of his way to make sure they stayed healthy. He'd often cuss them out for doing stupid things that could've gotten them hurt. It didn't seem like it, but it was how he showed he cared.

Fawkes: Fawkes would never call his feelings for Lone romantic, though he definitely cared for them. They saved him from his confines. They were possibly the only person willing to have a civil conversation with him. He often mentally cursed at himself for not being able to do much for them, other than protect them from harm. He didn't know how important that one thing was.

Star Paladin Cross: Cross has known Lone since they were an infant, sort of. Romance between them never crossed her mind, but she certainly loved them in a way. She was especially protective of them. Always sure to check if they were wounded after a fight. Always making sure they were eating and sleeping well. Though sometimes it was a little overbearing.

FO3 Companions Reactions to Dukov Being Gross to the Lone Wanderer.

Content warning ⚠️ themes of sexual assault!

This guy slaps your gf ass, wyd?

Butch

Butch sees red and immediately punches him square in the jaw.

"Get the hell away from them, you sick bastard!"

He doesn't go further than that — although he gladly would — but he leaves it up to Lone to decide what they want to do about this.

Charon

Charon deftly slips behind the pig, and before he can say, "You must have sat in some sugar, because you've got a sweet ass," there's a shotgun barrel against the back of his head.

"Your hand or your head. Your choice."

"Alright, alright, big man," Dukov says as he raises his hands in surrender.

If Lone gives the order, Charon will eliminate the problem with neither hesitation nor remorse.

Clover

In one fluid motion, Clover slices his hand clean off with her sword, and will decapitate the fucker if Lone chooses not to stop her.

Cross

She practically crushes his arm in a grip of steel, fingers leaving dark bruises on his wrist.

"Nineteen years ago, I swore to protect this child by whatever means necessary. Do I make myself clear, Mr. Dukov?"

"Fuck! Yes, now let go, you crazy bitch!"

"That's Star Paladin Cross to you, civilian."

She wrenches his arm away before turning back to Lone and asking if they're alright while using her power armor-clad body to shield them from Dukov's wandering eyes and hands.

Dogmeat

Dogmeat growls and bites the hand that grabbed them before Dukov kicks him away. If Lone does not step in in defense of their dog, Dogmeat will go for his throat and it's anyone's guess who wins that fight. Dogmeat is quick and tough, but Dukov is a renowned gunslinger, booze be damned.

Fawkes

"My friend... I would advise against that if I were you."

His hand wraps around Dukov's entire head and he lifts him off the ground as he speaks. Firm pressure is applied; not enough to crush his skull, but enough to get the point across that he so easily could.

Jericho

Although Dukov is a quick shot, Jericho is quicker and sober. A speedy and precise bullet to the wrist is all it takes to make Dukov regret his life choices.

"Damn, and to think I was starting to like this place."

Before Dukov can even think of using his other hand to pull out his gun, Jericho shoots a second round through his head and steps past the body as if he were stepping past a fresh pile of centaur dung.

"You okay, kid?" Jericho asks, holstering his weapon.

RL-3

RL-3 turns towards Dukov with a whirling buzz blade and three red eyes. An astute eye would notice a brighter flame as he peers at the despicable sack of flesh before him and asks his owner:

"What are your orders, Commander?"

Fallout Companions in Hero Forge Day 23!

This week's Fallout character is Star Paladin Cross!

First, we have Cross how she appears in game, with Brotherhood power armor on, holding a high tech gun, and carrying a hammer on her back!

Then I imagined what she'd look like off the field. She's dressed in a cozy sweater and teaching the Squires about the wasteland.

I think the pale blue is a good color for her, so if she needs to look fancy, I gave her this dress inspired by Annie Lennox here. 🩵

Here's another one of the main design! This way, we can see the power armor better.

Fallout 3 Companions Ranked By Whether They Should Have Turned on the Purifier

Fawkes. Absolutely no excuse. This isn’t even different from the G.E.C.K. except that HE WILL ALSO DIE if no one goes in. Obviously he’s radiation-resistant and he’ll be fine, but nah. What was all that stuff about owing the LW your life, again? He gives some excuse about destiny. What?? Just because it narratively makes sense for the main character to die here doesn’t mean you have to enforce that from inside the story, Fawkes. Booooo.

RL-3. His Broken Steel dialogue clarifies that he does understand that he’s immune to radiation, so he’s basically saying you should die because your dad did, which is deranged. Why would a soldierbot even think he can disobey that order? How does his programming even allow for this? Unclear.

Charon. Buddy, we know that any day you can find a loophole and disobey your employer is a good day. Happy for you. But now is perhaps not the time? His original dialogue is just flat-out cruel, but in Broken Steel he sounds more like he’s teasing. I’ll give him a few points here because I don’t think it’s impossible that high radiation could turn a ghoul feral. Also, he doesn’t necessarily have any reason to be loyal to the LW since he’s not here by choice. Still, you’d think he’d see the logic in avoiding anyone’s death altogether. (Unless their death would free him? Somehow I doubt that.)

Star Paladin Cross. MA’AM. You are third-in-command of the Brotherhood. Those people who style themselves after knights? Who make this big fuss about honor and bravery and stuff? Yeah, them. Neither you nor Sarah should even be entertaining the idea of letting this teenager die for you. If anyone’s going to survive it’s you, since you’re a cyborg. I swear James’s ghost is punching you in the face right now.

Jericho. Yeah, not likely. Would be better than letting the teenager do it. But not likely.

Butch. He’s pretty much in the same situation as the Lone Wanderer, except that it’s not his family legacy driving the story. He’s a sad 20-year-old hairdresser who didn’t sign up to have his insides roasted. Understandable that he wouldn’t want to go in.

Clover. You tell them, queen. Set those boundaries. Sure, LW could theoretically blow up your head for that, but every other option here also means probable death, so just take back your autonomy while you can. You owe them nothing.

Fo3 Companions Living in Megaton With Lone

Charon doesn't really have much of an opinion on the matter. If this is where you want to live, then this is where he'll follow you. Moira is always stopping by to ask if he could grab her something in a place that's just a bit too irradiated for her to do it herself, so he eventually refuses to answer the door for you. He'll gladly do anything else though, and he's not picky about the decor.

Clover doesn't mind, wherever you go, she'll go. She likes arranging things around the house and putting flowers in vases and whatnot. She does her best to keep the place as clean as possible and, although she covered him in graffiti, gets along decently well with Wadsworth. Moriarity will definitely try to manipulate her into some sort of contract so that he can have another "worker" alongside Nova, but other than having to keep an eye on her, she's easy to get along with.

Living in Megaton reminds Star Paladin Cross about when she escorted James here 19 years ago. It makes her feel slightly nostalgic being here again after all that time and seeing all the different changes that have been made. She doesn't mind how you decorate it and is happy with whatever as long as she's allowed to have a weapons workbench in one of the corners. She and Jericho might get into a few altercations from time to time, and she's always telling you about her gripes with Nathaniel, but she has enough manners and self-control to refrain from street fights. (more so for you're sake than hers).

Jericho is the trashiest roommate on this list, he doesn't even bother throwing things away. He'll just pile garbage into a corner until you decide you'll throw it out. The good news is, none of your neighbors are going to be trying anything with you since you're living with the town's local raider. Jericho also frequently gets into arguments with Wadsworth and eventually just locks him in a cage upstairs, so you can forget about having a butler helping you pick up all the junk he leaves around the place.

Butch will beg on bended knees for you to pay for the wasteland explorer theme for the house. Nothing would make him happier than having Moira wheel a motorcycle into the house. Overall, he's a decent roommate. He'll leave a mess in the living room and leaves his clothes everywhere, but other than the average frat boy shenanigans (expect there to be beer bottles everywhere), he's not so bad.

Besides him accidentally breaking things, Fawkes is probably the best to live with. He keeps the place relatively clean, keeps people out, and is just an overall joy to be around. He's sweet to all of your neighbors, even if they're open about not wanting him around. In all honesty, he's just happy to be out of that vault. He'd be happy anywhere and he especially loves having his own little nook for him to read and study. Soon enough you'll have a live-in doctor.

Every day, RL-3 will wake you up early so that you can begin your 5 a.m. workout routine. There is no resting when the possibility of communists lurking is high. He'll keep you and the other residents in line. Megaton will have a competent police force in no time, but the locals are gonna be upset with how demanding and loud he can get. Some (Jericho) might even try scrapping him for parts.

You'll get no complaints with Dogmeat. Everyone loves him and the kids that run around are always playing with him. Moira might try to train him to get her things, but other than that, you'll have no issues living with him.

I love the angst of a one sided pining a character who is in love with another but knows that the person they are in love with will never share their affections and having to accept it

I headcanon that Star Paladin Cross is one of these characters

She was in love with Catherine but knew she could never be with her because Catherine was with James

While she did consider James a friend and escorted him and The LW to Megaton and was saddened by his death there was a small part of Cross that resented James for marrying Catherine

She took Catherine's death incredibly hard

The reason why I think Cross cares so much for The LW and even willing to betray The Brotherhood for them which is what she does in River's story is not because they are James' kid but because they are Catherine's kid

Unlike James Cross has no problem with telling The LW about Catherine and The LW can tell with the way Cross talks about her that there are obviously feelings she has for Catherine and she still has them

In my headcanon she talks about Catherine being proud of The LW instead of James and while I do think that James would be proud I think Cross would want The LW to know that Catherine is proud of them too
