She had four kids of her own. Why wouldn't she want to start treatment ASAP to be there for her kids?
Surrogate claims gay dads told her to terminate pregnancy at 24 weeks on finding out she had aggressive cancer and barred her from having baby prematurely or putting it up for adoption because 'they didn't want their DNA out there'
Brittney Pearson, 37, told DailyMail.com that she was threatened with legal action by the prospective parents after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis
The mother-of-four, from Sacramento, said she felt like 'a rented-out uterus'
By ALICE WRIGHT FOR DAILYMAIL.COMPUBLISHED: 16:54 EDT, 1 July 2023
A California mother has claimed she was told to terminate her surrogate pregnancy at 24 weeks by the child's prospective fathers after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brittney Pearson, 37, from Sacramento told DailyMail.com that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May at 22 weeks. She says that after a full body MRI revealed the extent of the disease, the gay couple who were paying her to carry their child used legal threats to pressure her into terminating the pregnancy. Initially, Pearson claims, doctors at Sutter Health Medical Centre in Sacramento, believed she would be able to have a form of chemotherapy treatment compatible with pregnancy, and would then be induced at 34 weeks gestation. The prospective fathers, who haven't been named but are from Southern California, were allegedly happy for her to receive treatment and continue with the pregnancy. Brittney Pearson, 37, from Sacramento told DailyMail.com she was told to terminate her surrogate pregnancy at 24 weeks by the child's prospective fathers after she was diagnosed with breast cancer
Brittney Pearson, 37, from Sacramento told DailyMail.com she was told to terminate her surrogate pregnancy at 24 weeks by the child's prospective fathers after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Parson claims the gay couple who were paying her to carry their child used legal threats to pressure her into terminating the pregnancy
However, when medics realized the HER2+ cancer had spread further than expected and that more aggressive chemo would be needed to combat it, relations between Pearson and the prospective parents broke down. The unnamed gay couple, Pearson claims, wanted the baby 'immediately terminated' and 'erased' as they believed it had no chance at life. They did not want a baby born before 34 weeks because they allegedly feared the infant would have considerable health problems, it is claimed.
The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network, an anti-surrogacy group which first reported on Pearson's case, claims the prospective fathers also sought to bar Pearson from carrying the child to term, then giving it up for adoption. They're said to have told her that they didn't want their 'DNA out there', being raised by someone else. DailyMail.com has been unable to contact the prospective dads to verify that claim. Pearson told DailyMail.com of the distress she felt after the prospective fathers allegedly 'threatened everyone they could with a lawsuit' including Pearson, her agency and Sutter Health. At one point, she claims, her oncology team, after being threatened with legal action, said they were not sure they could give her chemo and would need to consult their own lawyers. 'It was frustrating because I wanted to give them a family' she told DailyMail.com, 'they said they cared but they didn’t. I felt betrayed and heartbroken.'
Pearson's sisters, Courtney and Ashley Pearson, set up a Go Fund Me page explaining the circumstances of Brittney's diagnosis. Pearson claims doctors at Sutter Health Medical Centre in Sacramento came under legal fire from the prospective parents. Jennifer Lahl, president of The center for Bioethics and Culture Network said: 'This case highlights many of the problems with contracted, largely commercial, pregnancy.'
The mother-of-four, who had already successfully completed one round of surrogacy before, said she was left feeling like 'a rented-out uterus'.' The first thing I thought after I was diagnosed was I want to keep this baby safe and bring it earthside' she said. 'I would have been there, I would have given him every chance of survival , I had people ready to help' she claimed. Pearson told DailyMail.com she found a hospital that would deliver her baby, but would not elaborate on whether or not the procedure was inducement or termination, and whether or not the fetus was born alive. She would only confirm that it has since died. 'The baby was born on Father’s Day, my mother got to hold him and take pictures but he did not survive' she explained. Pearson felt further upset by the prospective parents decision to take the fetus' remains and cremate them. 'I would have done things differently, I didn't understand it since they didn't see him as a baby at all.'
Pearson said she is speaking out about her experience because she 'never wants anyone else to feel like this'. Despite her harrowing account she has not changed her mind about surrogacy: 'I wouldn't do it again, but I still think surrogacy has a great time and place but [prospective] families need to be screened a little more.' Pearson said her surrogacy agency, who she did not want to name, were 'very supportive and still are' but that the fathers had not contacted her since she had the baby. Jennifer Lahl, president of The center for Bioethics and Culture Network said of the case: 'I often say, there are plenty of reasons to get people to see how surrogacy is wrong, is harmful, and is bad for women and for children. 'This case highlights many of the problems with contracted, largely commercial, pregnancy.'
Pearson, who has four of her own children 3, 5, 12 and 13 years-old, is currently unable to work while receiving treatment. Her sisters Courtney and Ashley Pearson set up a Go Fund Me page to accept donations to see her through this difficult time. 'Britt was recently diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. Britt and her family need our love and support during this heartbreaking time' the sisters wrote. Adding: 'She is the main provider for her family of 6 and is unable to work during her cancer treatments. Please help share this so that they won’t have any added stress!' Sutter Health declined to comment when approached by DailyMail.com. Are you the prospective fathers? Please get in touch at [email protected]

One year ago.
The doors open to reveal the setting sun on the horizon. Shades of orange and red paint the sky as the faint presence of stars patiently awaits the giant orb's departure.
Jungkook steps out into the crisp evening air without regard for the gusts that violently displace his perfectly styled bangs.
His urgent steps have nothing to do with the conditions. After a long and exhausting day, he tends to enjoy a nippy pre-spring breeze.
When he approaches the exit, his energy is almost completely drained. The first step he takes out of the building is like an instant charge, and the wind hitting his face is like a slap that brings him back to reality.
If that isn't enough to wake up his brain, the sharpness of his security personnel's tone will surely have him alert.
Two men of large stature guide him to his Porsche. He can only imagine the twinkle in his eyes when they land on his baby—resting idly while she waits for him to claim his rightful seat behind the wheel.
Jungkook nearly bypasses his guards as he takes excited strides toward his vehicle. However, a muscular bicep forms a barricade directly in front of the young CEO, reminding him of the dangers of wandering ahead of them in public.
Only authorized staff are allowed on the premises. Still, even a company as large as Sport's 5 cannot dictate who stands on a public sidewalk. Fortunately, most of the people who choose to spend their time out here are harmless. However, he still understands the importance of safety.
Some people are so desperate they'd do anything to get a picture with the Big 5—a panel Jungkook used to sit on before being offered an executive position.
Sport's 5 comprises five individuals who have had exceptional professional sports careers. These are mainly retired sportsmen and women who still love the game.
Jungkook was offered a seat at the table before he could properly hang up his gloves. Everyone wanted to know his story, his input and opinions, and his firsthand account of the KO he delivered right to Joey "The Rhino" Reese.
Although it was the best highlight of his career, he's never publicly spoken on that night out of respect for the legend and his family. It'd be pointless to keep retelling the events when they're online for everyone to see.
Despite keeping his mouth shut about the fall of an icon, he still receives his share of hate from the boxer's diehard fans.
"Coward!"
He hears a man shouting insults from across the street, but most of his words are inaudible due to the distance. It can't be anything good because a family walking by promptly covers their child's ears every time the man opens his mouth.
Like on any other occasion, Jungkook shrugs off the spew of hate and gets into his car, wishing security a safe night. The engine roars as he pushes start. The sound of purring grasps one of the men's attention, and he turns around with a point, a silent compliment that Jungkook accepts with a nod as he speeds away.
With only headlights in his rearview mirror, Jungkook zooms through the city—wondering where his journey will take him. After the day he's had, home seems like a great option, but he isn't in the mood to spend a weeknight surrounded by silence in a large penthouse.
So, he drives downtown, aiming for any bar without a crowd. That shouldn't be too hard. Most people have work tomorrow, and they aren't in the mood for a party, and neither is he.
A distraction is all he needs to ease his restless mind.
He reaches the heart of the city and parks near the curb. Heads turn as he exits his vehicle, wondering who he could be. With his shades on and natural hair color, it's hard for people to recognize his identity these days.
Still, everyone is captivated by the car he steps out of. They could care less about his appearance. The real attention grabbers are the wealth that oozes from his body and his Porsche. Without money, he's just another guy.
Jungkook adjusts his suit as he scopes out the area. He notices the establishment across from him has upbeat music blasting through the speakers. Judging by the people lined up, waiting to get in—it's more of a nightclub than a lounge.
He sighs as he eliminates one place after another, eventually deciding to walk the strip and see what it offers.
He nearly misses it as he strolls aimlessly, but tucked in the corner—dark and rustic—is just what he's been searching for.
Somewhere laid back and secluded; just somewhere you go for a drink and maybe a few rounds of pool.
He can count the number of occupants in there on one hand, so before anyone can figure out who he is, he steps inside and removes his glasses. He scans the room and acknowledges those who randomly lock eyes with him.
Jungkook can't help but admire the way this place is set up. The outside doesn't do it any justice; he can't even remember the name on the sign. He'll have to check on his way out; tell some of his colleagues to visit so it can gain some more customers.
He'll have to look into that another time, though. He wants to spend only a little time here, so he makes his way to the bar.
Two women stand on each side; one is at the register printing someone's bill, and the other is already waiting for him to order.
The greeting he receives is warm and sincere. One you will only find in a few places. He offers a smile, the best he can give, at least.
"Hey. Just a Jack & Coke for me," he replies.
With a slight nod, the bartender begins preparing his drink.
While Jungkook waits, he starts going through his phone, checking texts he missed while he was up to his neck in paperwork.
Most of them are from associates, his trainer, and…
His assistant?
The number isn't saved because he hasn't used it, but he sees the name in a previous message—letting him know he's speaking with the woman he hired four months ago.
6:54 pm (###) ###-####: Hi! I think I dropped my earring in your car when we grabbed lunch today. Can you check?
He doesn't have to.
Jungkook saw when the earring "fell" between the center console and the passenger seat. It happened right after its owner dropped it there.
He can't help but laugh at the whole thing. Had he remembered, he would have said something immediately, but he has to admit that the low-cut blouse was a great choice. He can't count how many red lights he almost ran, sneaking glances.
Usually, he has no problem keeping things professional, but with all the flirting and teasing over the last few weeks, the temptation is becoming a bit unbearable.
Maybe he should take a detour on the way home and return the "lost" item.
7:49 pm Him: I'll look in a few
After he sends the message, his drink is placed before him, and he abandons his phone without hesitation.
"Tab or no?"
"No, love. That's it for me.."
He places a twenty-dollar bill on the bar and pushes it toward the woman behind the counter.
"Keep what's left," he insists.
She takes the cash and walks to the register, leaving him alone to sip his liquor and bob his head to some classic rock.
As soon as the glass touches his lip, he takes a large sip, and regret washes over his entire body.
"What the—"
"Don't drink that," the other bartender whispers sharply.
She rushes over and takes the glass from his hand, instantly replacing it with a new one.
"She's trying, but…"
Jungkook understands entirely. She's still learning. Everyone's been there, even him.
"Don't worry about it," he insists. "Let me grab my wallet—"
She declines.
"It's on me, sweetheart."
Before he can argue, she walks away and disappears with the horrible drink her coworker made.
Despite the little hiccup, Jungkook is glad he found this little gem. It seems like a nice place for a good time, but also somewhere to unwind. There's a bar, a dance floor, a billiards table—and whoever is in charge of the music has great taste.
He'll definitely be back, maybe even tomorrow.
The next sip he takes does exactly what it's supposed to do. "Goddamn it."
The liquor makes his mouth and throat tingle as it travels into his body. He can feel his body relaxing already. Now, all he needs is a shower and—
His phone buzzes in his pocket, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Once again, the number is unknown.
Jungkook intends to ignore it, but his thumb accidentally presses accept. He stares at the screen in disbelief as he hears the faint sound of someone's voice on the other end of the call.
Slowly, he brings it to his ear and acknowledges the caller.
"Hello?"
"Hi, son."
Great, this is just what he needs right now. A call from his father, someone who basically disowned him for chasing the same dream that led to his wealth and success.
"Yeah, I'm kind of busy. Can I call you back?"
He lies so he can end the call. There isn't a drink here that can give him enough strength to put up with this man. He can't deal with this tonight, and he won't.
"Hold on!" he shouts through the phone, making Jungkook release a defeated sigh.
He's entirely prepared to hang up in his father's face if he has to, but he'll entertain him for a few more seconds.
"Look, I don't know who pumped your balls up so large that you have the audacity to call me, but—"
"It's your grandfather, Jungkook."
There's a pause.
There is a long, dreadful pause. It's as if Jungkook already knows what he's about to say, and unfortunately, his instinct is right.
"He's dead."

How do World Fertility Services experts conduct a single cycle of surrogacy in Mexico?
Surrogacy in Mexico is a complex process that involves the help of doctors, lawyers, and sometimes agencies. The specific procedure may vary depending on the surrogacy type, relevant jurisdiction laws, and individual circumstances. Here is a general overview:
1. Initial Consultation: Intended parents meet with fertility specialists to discuss their options, medical history, and potential treatments.
2. Medical and psychological screening: Both the intended parents and the surrogate mother in Mexico undergo medical and psychological screening to ensure they are suitable for the process.

5. Medical procedures (gestational surrogacy): In gestational surrogacy, the intended mother or egg donor undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval. The eggs are fertilized with the intended father's sperm (or donor sperm) to create an embryo. The resulting embryos are transferred to the surrogate's uterus during the embryo transfer.

Surrogacy in Noida: Breaking Down the Financial Aspects
Surrogacy has emerged as a viable option for couples struggling with infertility, same-sex couples, and individuals who wish to experience parenthood. Noida, a bustling city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, has gained recognition as a prominent destination for surrogacy services. However, the cost of surrogacy can vary significantly depending on various factors. In this article, we will delve into the details of surrogacy costs in Noida, helping prospective parents understand what to expect when embarking on this journey.
Factors Influencing Surrogacy Costs
Type of Surrogacy:
There are two primary types of surrogacies - traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy. In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother is genetically related to the child as her own egg is used for conception. In gestational surrogacy, the embryo is created using the intended parents' genetic material or donor gametes. Gestational surrogacy is more commonly chosen and tends to be more expensive due to the additional medical procedures involved.
Clinic and Medical Expenses:
The choice of the surrogacy clinic and medical professionals can significantly impact the overall cost. Reputable clinics often charge higher fees but provide better facilities and a higher level of care. Medical expenses may include IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) procedures, screenings, medications, and prenatal care for the surrogate.
Legal and Administrative Expenses:
Surrogacy arrangements require thorough legal documentation, including contracts outlining rights and responsibilities, compensation, and custody issues. Legal and administrative expenses, such as lawyer fees and court filings, contribute to the total cost.
Surrogate Mother's Compensation:
The surrogate mother is entitled to compensation for her time, effort, and the physical and emotional toll of the pregnancy. This compensation varies depending on factors like location, duration of pregnancy, and specific requirements.
Screening and Background Checks:
Screening potential surrogates for medical, psychological, and lifestyle suitability is an essential step in the surrogacy process. The cost of these screenings and background checks is factored into the overall surrogacy expenses.
Travel and Accommodation:
Intended parents may need to travel to Noida for the surrogacy process. Travel expenses, including flights, accommodation, and transportation within the city, should be considered.
Egg or Sperm Donation:
If the intended parents require donor eggs or sperm, additional expenses may apply. These costs include compensating the donor and covering medical procedures for the extraction and fertilization of donor gametes.
Insurance and Contingency:
It is advisable to have insurance coverage for the surrogate mother to handle any unexpected medical complications during pregnancy. Contingency funds are also recommended to account for unforeseen expenses.
Conclusion
The surrogacy cost in Noida, like in other parts of the world, can vary significantly based on a variety of factors. Prospective parents should carefully consider their budget and needs when embarking on this journey. Consulting with a reputable surrogacy clinic or agency in Noida is essential to obtain a clear understanding of the total expenses involved.
It is important to remember that while surrogacy can be expensive, it offers the hope of fulfilling the dream of parenthood for many individuals and couples who may not have other viable options. With proper planning and guidance, the cost of surrogacy in Noida can be managed, and the joy of welcoming a new member into the family can be realized.

Surrogacy treatment in Guwahati
Introduction
Parenthood is a deeply cherished dream for many individuals and couples. However, the journey to becoming parents is not always straightforward, and some face hurdles that can seem insurmountable. In such cases, surrogacy emerges as a beacon of hope, offering an avenue for those struggling with fertility challenges to experience the joys of raising a child. Guwahati, the bustling hub of Northeast India, has emerged as a center for surrogacy treatment, blending advanced medical technologies with empathy and compassion to fulfill the dreams of aspiring parents.
Understanding Surrogacy
Surrogacy is a transformative process that involves a woman, known as a surrogate mother, carrying and nurturing a pregnancy on behalf of intended parents. This intricate journey involves medical expertise, emotional support, and legal considerations. There are two primary types of surrogacy:
Traditional Surrogacy: In this method, the surrogate mother’s own egg is fertilized with the sperm of either the intended father or a sperm donor. As a result, the surrogate is genetically linked to the child.
Gestational Surrogacy: This approach involves in vitro fertilization (IVF), where an embryo is created by fertilizing the egg of the intended mother or an egg donor with the sperm of the intended father or a sperm donor. The resulting embryo is then implanted into the surrogate’s uterus. In this scenario, the surrogate is not biologically related to the child.
Surrogacy in Guwahati: A Growing Option
The city of Guwahati has witnessed a growing interest in surrogacy treatment as a solution for couples facing infertility issues or medical conditions that hinder conception and pregnancy. The increasing awareness of surrogacy, coupled with advancements in medical infrastructure, has positioned Guwahati as a hub for this transformative journey toward parenthood.
Legal and Ethical Considerations
Surrogacy is a complex process that raises various legal and ethical considerations. In India, surrogacy laws have undergone changes to ensure the protection of all parties involved, particularly the surrogate mother and the child. The Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2020, seeks to establish a regulatory framework to prevent commercial exploitation while ensuring that the rights and well-being of surrogate mothers and children are upheld.
The Surrogacy Process
The surrogacy journey is multi-faceted and comprises several stages that involve careful planning, medical procedures, and emotional support:
Intended Parent Evaluation: Prospective parents undergo medical and psychological assessments to ensure their readiness for the emotional and financial commitment of surrogacy.
Surrogate Selection: Surrogate mothers undergo thorough evaluations, considering factors such as their health, lifestyle, and willingness to commit to the process.
Legal Agreements: Detailed legal contracts are drawn up between the intended parents and the surrogate, outlining rights, responsibilities, and expectations.
Medical Procedures: In the case of gestational surrogacy, eggs are retrieved from the intended mother or an egg donor, fertilized with sperm, and then transferred as embryos to the surrogate’s uterus.
Pregnancy and Monitoring: Throughout the pregnancy, the surrogate’s health is closely monitored, ensuring the well-being of both the surrogate and the developing fetus.
Birth and Legal Processes: After a successful pregnancy, legal processes are initiated to establish the intended parents as the legal guardians of the child.
Benefits and Challenges
Surrogacy offers a range of benefits, including the opportunity for individuals or couples to experience biological parenthood despite challenges. It also provides options for same-sex couples and individuals who wish to become parents. However, surrogacy is not without challenges. Emotional complexities, ethical concerns, and legal intricacies are facets that require careful consideration.
Support and Well-being
Given the emotional nature of surrogacy, comprehensive support systems are essential. Emotional support and counseling are invaluable for intended parents, surrogates, and even families, helping them navigate the journey’s complexities with understanding and empathy.
The Guwahati Perspective
Guwahati’s emergence as a destination for surrogacy treatment is marked by the synergy of advanced medical technologies and the city’s cultural ethos. The availability of specialized medical facilities, skilled professionals, and a network of surrogate mothers willing to contribute to the fulfillment of dreams underscores the city’s commitment to nurturing parenthood.
Conclusion
Surrogacy treatment in Guwahati represents the convergence of science and empathy, where cutting-edge medical advancements collaborate with the compassion of surrogate mothers to bring the gift of parenthood to those who yearn for it. As the city evolves as a center for this transformative journey, the dream of holding one’s child in their arms becomes a beautiful reality, touching lives and spreading joy. The tapestry of emotions, ethics, science, and support woven into the surrogacy process paints a picture of hope, resilience, and the limitless capacity of the human heart to create families.

The Surrogacy Process: A Step-by-Step Guide

This process has become increasingly popular in recent years, but it can be confusing and overwhelming for those who are new to it. In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide to the surrogacy process.
Starting a family is an exciting prospect, but it can be challenging for some couples. Surrogacy offers a way for intended parents to have biological children, but it can be a daunting process. In this guide, we will break down the surrogacy process into manageable steps, so you can better understand what to expect.
Surrogacy is a process where a surrogate mother carries a child for intended parents who are unable to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term. The process can be a long and challenging one, but it is worth it for those who wish to have biological children. Surrogacy has become increasingly popular in recent years, but many people are still unfamiliar with how it works. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive guide to the surrogacy process, including the steps involved, legal considerations, and costs.
Understanding the Surrogacy Process
Before diving into the surrogacy process, it is essential to understand what it entails. Surrogacy involves a surrogate mother carrying a child for intended parents. There are two types of surrogacy: traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy.
Traditional surrogacy involves the surrogate mother using her own eggs to conceive, which means that the child is biologically related to the surrogate mother. This type of surrogacy is less common than gestational surrogacy.
Gestational surrogacy, on the other hand, involves the use of in vitro fertilization (IVF) to create an embryo using the eggs and sperm of the intended parents or donors. The embryo is then transferred to the surrogate mother's uterus, where she carries the pregnancy to term.
The Steps Involved in the Surrogacy Process
Step 1: Choosing a Surrogacy Agency or Finding a Surrogate Mother
The first step in the surrogacy process is finding a surrogate mother. This can be done through a surrogacy agency or by finding a surrogate independently. Surrogacy agencies provide a range of services, including matching intended parents with a surrogate, legal assistance, and counseling. They also typically handle the screening of potential surrogates to ensure they are physically and mentally healthy.
If you decide to find a surrogate independently, it is essential to take the necessary precautions to ensure that the process is legally and medically sound. This can involve working with an attorney who specializes in surrogacy to draft a surrogacy agreement and ensuring that the surrogate undergoes medical and psychological screenings.
Step 2: Medical Procedures
Once a surrogate mother has been chosen, the next step is to begin the medical procedures. This involves using IVF to create embryos using the intended parents' or donors' eggs and sperm. The embryos are then transferred to the surrogate mother's uterus, where she will carry the pregnancy to term.
The medical procedures involved in surrogacy can be extensive and may include fertility treatments, hormone injections, and regular monitoring of the surrogate mother's health.
Step 3: Legal Considerations
Surrogacy involves a range of legal considerations, including drafting a surrogacy agreement and establishing legal parentage. A surrogacy agreement is a legally binding contract between the intended parents and the surrogate mother that outlines the terms of the surrogacy, including financial compensation, medical procedures, and any other agreements.
Conclusion:
Choosing the best surrogacy agencies in NYC is an essential step in the surrogacy journey. Conducting thorough research, choosing a reputable agency with experience, considering the cost, and checking the legal protocols are all factors to consider when choosing a surrogacy agency.

Man whose own sister described him as 'socially awkward', 'paranoid' and prone to 'frequent anger fits'. He also 'has a history of being cruel to animals'. was able to hire a surrogate mother to have biological children. And when triplets were conceived he tried to pressure her into aborting one and then tried to keep the cost of care for her and them down.
My 'womb for hire' nightmare: Surrogate mother discovered the father was single, deaf and living in his parents' basement - before he demanded she ABORT one of the triplets she was carrying for him
Melissa Cook became a surrogate mother to help pay her bills after divorce
She discovered the father was single, deaf 51-year-old living with his parents
He then demanded she ABORT one baby because he couldn't afford it
He asked clinic staff to limit her visits despite complications such as hypotension
Believing passionately that bringing new life into the world 'is the greatest gift you could give anyone', Melissa Cook became a surrogate mother.
'When I became pregnant with triplets, I was thrilled,' she reflects. 'I believed then that everyone has the right to be a parent.'
However, six years on, she thinks very differently. For not only did she never see the three babies after they were born, but she has no idea where they now live.
Long-running legal efforts to get access to the children have failed and she is profoundly worried that they are not safe.
'Little did I know what a nightmare it would become,' Melissa says, distraught.
'It's a nightmare that never ends. When the triplets were born, they were taken away before I could even look at them. It's heartbreaking.'
Her story has shocked America and casts a deeply disturbing light on the surrogacy industry, which, however well regulated parts of it might be, can have devastating consequences.
The fact is that commercial surrogacy in the US has become a Wild West, where money tends to trump everything and little is done to protect mothers or the children they bring into this world if things go wrong.
Melissa's story, too, has important lessons for Britain – not only on the dangers of changing the law to make surrogacy easier, but also because many childless couples from the UK seek children from America.
Different states have different laws, but American surrogates can receive handsome payment, whereas in Britain only expenses are allowed.
Melissa, 54, urges would-be parents to think long and hard before they consider a surrogate from across the Atlantic.
Her story began on May 31, 2015, when she signed a surrogacy agreement with a California agency, Surrogacy International.
A divorcee with four of her own children, she freely admits she needed the money – and was to be paid $33,000 (£26,000).
In Britain, expenses for a surrogate typically range from £12,000 to £18,000 – not insubstantial, but leaving little or nothing as profit.
Although Melissa works as a 'mobile notary', travelling to clients' homes and offices to help them with legal documents, she was not well paid.
'As a single mum, money was tight,' she concedes. So she had, once before, become a surrogate to a gay couple – successfully carrying a baby for them.
She says: 'It was a positive experience. One of the dads came to all my doctors' appointments. I felt part of their family. When the baby was born I was happy to hand the little boy to his daddies.'
But Melissa says her second experience as a surrogate was nothing short of a disaster.
She admits she was concerned from the outset, saying the agency gave her minimal information about the family she thought she would be helping, citing client confidentiality.
It was only when she persisted that she discovered the truth: rather than acting as a surrogate mother for a couple, she would be doing so for a 51-year-old single man who was deaf and living in his parents' basement.
For legal reasons, the postal worker from Georgia can only be referred to as 'C. M.'
She wished to keep an open mind, however, saying: 'The warning bells rang but I thought, 'Why should a disability prevent someone from becoming a parent?' So I signed the contract.'
Eggs from a 20-year-old donor were fertilised with sperm from the intended father, with whom she communicated only by email.
Then, on August 17, 2015, three embryos were transferred into Melissa's body.
'I have four children of my own, but this pregnancy was far more difficult than the others,' she continues.
'I suffered from hypotension [low blood pressure] and was placed on medication and a special diet. I also developed gestational diabetes.'
And there was another shock to come. As is often the case with IVF procedures, more than one fertilised embryo is implanted in the surrogate so as to maximise the chances of success.
When C. M. learned there were three viable embryos now growing inside Melissa, however, he asked her to abort one, she says.
'He sent me a text saying, 'I'm not sure I can have three kids. Can you think about aborting?' I was like, 'Are you kidding?' '
Also, court records show emails from C. M. to the clinic monitoring Melissa's pregnancy, in which he asks staff to help him to keep the costs down.
'Please try to make her visits [to the clinic] less often because I get a bill that costs me a lot of money… it causes me financial problems... [I can't] afford triplets… that worries me so bad for real.'
Tears fill Melissa's eyes as she recalls: 'It became obvious to me that this man wasn't capable of raising triplets.
'He demanded I have an abortion. I didn't want one. When I spoke to the doctors, they told me they would inject one of the triplets, who would die, but he would stay in my womb alongside his brothers until their birth.
'It was like something from a horror story.'
The more Melissa learned about the man for whom she was bearing the children, the worse she felt.
He was taking care of his elderly parents (who have since died), both invalided.
According to a sworn affidavit from the man's sister, part of later legal action, a heroin-addicted nephew allegedly sold drugs out of the house at the time.
In court documents seen by The Mail on Sunday, C. M.'s sister describes him as 'socially awkward', 'paranoid' and prone to 'frequent anger fits'. He also 'has a history of being cruel to animals'.
Melissa says: 'I became filled with anxiety. It affected my pregnancy. I could feel all three babies inside me. C. M. kept demanding I abort one of the babies. I wrote back to him saying I would keep one myself and raise it myself.
'The agency owner, who was also his lawyer, said 'These are his children' and I told him, 'I don't care. They're mine while they are in me and I'm protecting them.' '
It is at this point that her lawyer, Harold Cassidy, who is sitting by her side during our interview, interjects.
'The nightmare here begins at the very start of the process, because the rights of the children and the surrogate mother are not protected under American law. It's all about who pays the bills.
'The constitutional rights of children are being violated and women are being exploited,' he says, adding: 'They are treated as nothing more than a womb for hire, a chattel to be discarded once business is concluded.'
Melissa took legal action before the babies were born. She says: 'I was an emotional wreck.
'I went public because I didn't want to abort one of the babies. As a mother, I felt protective towards them. I still do.
'I have never seen the boys, who are six now, but I want them to know I am here for them. My door is always open.'
The triplets were born at 30 weeks in a Los Angeles hospital on February 22, 2016.
Melissa says: 'They were delivered by caesarean section and there was a screen halfway down my body. I heard them but never saw them.
'There was a guard posted at my door. I offered breast milk but was told the father declined that offer.
'I had a friend who wanted to be there with me in the delivery room but the doctors refused because the babies' daddy said he didn't want anyone else in the delivery room.'
The intended father, C. M., meanwhile, stayed at home 2,000 miles away in Georgia.
'No one at the hospital would even tell me how they were doing.'
The babies spent weeks in hospital before a medical team of three nurses and a doctor flew back to Georgia with C. M. and the triplets.
Melissa says she eventually turned down all offers of payment from C. M. 'because it would have felt like blood money'.
Her lawyer Harold Cassidy filed lawsuit after lawsuit in an attempt to establish her maternal rights to the babies.
Melissa's case was thrown out by the District Court of California and the Appeals Court. A request for it to be heard by the Supreme Court was denied.
'All this has been devastating. It's affected my own children and my boyfriend, too,' she says. 'I think about the triplets all the time, wondering how they are.
'Commercial surrogacy shouldn't be allowed. The mother has no rights. No one ever checked the home of the intended father before the triplets were born.
'He didn't even have to go through a psychological background check like I did. When we went to court, the judge said the contract I signed basically gave the father all rights to the children.
'The judge said what happens to those children is none of the court's business. When I signed that contract, I terminated any of my parental rights.
'During one hearing, the judge said, 'What is going to happen to these children once they are handed over to C. M., that's none of my business. That's not part of my job.'
'I feel bad every day for those babies. I wonder what he tells them about their mother? They are six years old now. I know they will be starting to ask about where they came from. I feel so bad for them. The babies never deserved this.'
The affidavit filed by C. M.'s sister in support of Melissa's case accused him of being an unfit parent.
'It claims C. M. has been known to leave the children unattended 'for hours at a time' and that the triplets had allegedly been obliged to eat food from a dirty floor.
His sister told the court: 'If C. M. applied to adopt a child and a home inspection was conducted, he would never have qualified to be an adoptive parent.'
Of course, there are two sides to every story. Robert Walmsley, the lawyer who represents him and also owns Surrogacy International, denied Melissa's claims that the children are not being cared for properly, insisting: 'My client is a good and caring father. He loves those children. He owns his own house and the children are being very well looked after.
'Of course, caring for triplets would be a challenge for anyone, but he's doing a great job. He sends me pictures and videos and the children are smiling, happy and healthy.
'He's a doting father and any suggestion otherwise is totally wrong.'
When asked about Melissa's court fight, he retorts: 'The courts backed C. M. every step of the way, as they should have done.
'His sister said what she did because sadly there is a rift within the family. C. M. is a private man who never wished to be in the limelight.'
As for Melissa, she 'is not the most stable of women', he suggests. 'I've been in the surrogacy business for 30 years and 99.9 per cent of cases have no issues.
'There were medical reasons C. M. and the doctors recommended the abortion. They are not her children, they never were her children. So she had no right to see them in hospital.
'To be honest, by that stage she was in litigation with my client, so why would he want anything to do with her? She was trying to block him becoming a father.
'He is devoted to those boys. He's loving being a father. He's coping very well.'
None of this helps comfort Melissa, who today remains haunted by thoughts of the triplets she carried.
She says it's her priority to ensure they're being treated well. 'If I find out they are not being cared for properly, I will take further legal action,' she adds.
And what about commercial surrogacy generally? After her shocking experience, she tells me: 'It's not only disreputable – it's evil.'
She adds: 'When I went into it, I'd read all those stories about celebrities having children via surrogates and they had all apparently had happy endings. I had no doubts.
'But now, I would urge people in the UK to think very seriously before thinking of getting surrogate babies from abroad. In America it's a free-for-all.
'You always hear the 'happy' stories, but people are never told horror stories like mine.'

The agreement states that the surrogate mother willingly carries a baby in her womb for nine months & then hands it over to the biological parents. On the other hand, biological parents will take full responsibility for the surrogate mother until the baby delivers.

After the court verifies the documents & they will order the Department of Vital Statistics to issue a new birth certificate of the baby born through surrogacy in the name of the biological parents as the legal parents.

The Pros for Surrogate Mother
For the majority of surrogates, the chance to create life for another family is the most wonderful thing they could ever imagine. It seems sense that most women wish to consider both the advantages and disadvantages of becoming surrogate mothers before embarking on this path. The majority of surrogates describe the experience of bearing a childless couple's kid as remarkable and lovely, but there are a few small drawbacks to being a surrogate that you should be aware of as well.
The decision to become a surrogate is made by women for a variety of reasons. Earthly Angel sees a majority of surrogate mothers feel the chance to add to another family's happiness to be incredibly fulfilling and a highly rewarding experience. Earthlyangelsconsulting.com is discussing are some more advantages and rewards of making this significant life decision.
Being a surrogate is a rewarding experience.
The joy of bearing a child for a parent who is unable to do it themselves is unmatched. The majority of surrogates feel content and accomplished when they reflect back on their experience. Typically, surrogate moms are kind, sympathetic people who have a great desire to aid others in need. Giving people who struggle with infertility the chance to have a child and complete their family may be a life-changing event that brings happiness and fulfilment to all parties involved.
Among surrogate moms, there is a large support network.
Being a surrogate may be a difficult journey. Candidates for surrogacy must consent to background investigations, medical examinations, and psychological testing. Sharron Woten says there is a lot to consider. Sharing your experience with other female participants in the process may be uplifting, energizing, and enjoyable.
It is possible for surrogates to become pregnant again.
The majority of surrogate mothers genuinely love becoming pregnant. One prerequisite for surrogates is having experience as mothers. You may enjoy being pregnant once more without having to worry about raising the child alone if you decide to carry for someone else.
Surrogates are compensated well.
Gestational carriers are paid in exchange for their dedication, sacrifice, and risk-taking. For their willingness to carry a child, surrogates often paid between $40,000 and $50,000. The cost of travel and medical expenditures is also covered. Getting healthcare coverage during the surrogacy process is an additional perk. The compensation you will get can assist you in achieving your own objectives, such as debt repayment, home ownership, or educational expenses.
Surrogates are entitled to protection.
After the adoptive parents and surrogate mother have been matched, contracts with legal standing are created to safeguard both parties. These agreements spell out in detail what each party must do to guarantee a healthy pregnancy. The contract will also reaffirm that you have no further obligations to the kid after delivery.
Having confidence,
There is always a chance that a potential birth mother will change her mind and decide to parent after you finalize an infant adoption. While a surrogate is aware that the child is not her own, you may be confident that, as long as the pregnancy goes smoothly, you will give birth to a child. You are also aware that a surrogate's ability to carry a baby to term is decided by the comprehensive testing she goes through.

"Eskel give me your goat!" Geralt shouted thundering into the training yard of kaer morhen a wailing hungry baby tucked in his arm.
"what- Geralt what the fuck?!" Eskel yelped trying intercept the white wolf that was striding towards his terrified lil'bleater
"She's hungry and our goat... Is incapacitated" Geralt said growling irritated at the loss of their goat just over a day ago.
The Witcher's growl spooked the goat sending it running for its life.
"Who? Oh god not again?" Eskel grounded spying the infant that was waving its tiny fists sobbing as loud as it could.
"Geralt why do you keep returning with children?" Eskel said with a chuckle finding his brothers plight amusing.
Geralt really seemed to over complicate his life. Djiin wishes, mage girlfriends, children of surprize and Jaskier? Now a baby.
"shut the fuck up and give my your goat!"
"boys! What is going on- Geralt why do you have another child?" Vesemir said with a worried look
"He stole it" Jaskier piped up from behind which made the other men frown at Geralt both furious and worried
"I did not steal Mai!" Geralt snarled turning to give the bard a death stare but Jaskier merly scoffed
"Bought it then" the smaller male shrugged looking to Vesemir and Eskel.
"I did not-Her mother gave her to me" the white wolf growled and looked to Vesemir and Eskel who were both watching the back and forth between them trying to make heads or tails of it.
"In exchange for gold! Geralt! You bought her!" Geralt winced as Jaskier's voice rose an octave then yipped and Yennefer slapped him across the back pf the head with a small 'whoops there was a fly'
The older Witcher's sighed deflated as Geralt didn't argue over buying the child with coin.
"Oh Geralt really?" Vesemir started making to scold the man but Geralt strode around him with a huff.
"can we discuss this another time? Shes hungry. Eskel where's your fucking goat run off to?"
"Geralt clam down, stop cursing in front of the child!" Vesemir chided sternly making the Witcher duck his head slightly, which in turn made Eskel roar with laughter and tease him.
"Yeah Geralt she will have a potty mouth!"
"Mia, is not going to have a potty mouth because I said a few fucks! Now bring me your goat!"
"No. Not until you ask me nicely" Eskel snipped crossing his arms his brow only twitching slightly as Mia's cries became hoarse.
"Wha- she's hungry just go get it!" Geralt seethed pupils contracting dangerously as his anger soared.
He did not like hearing his pups crying! Especially when he could stop it.
"Geralt say please" Yennefer warned him glaring at the Witcher, both Ciri and Jaskier were also glaring at him wanting the hungry child to be fed as quickly as possible.
"Eskel... Could you please bring your goat out here? So I can feed Mia" he sighed defeated and grimanced as his brothers face lit up in victory
"yes, I'd be delighted to just wait here." Eskel said waltzing off to fetch his precious goat.
In a matter of minutes Mia was quietly nursing on Lil'bleater
All eyes turned to Geralt who was sitting in a slouch. He was pouting after having lost Mia to Vesemir who was holding her securely keeping her comfortable as she fed greedily.
"What!? What's your problem?!" He snipped with a growl.
"... So you offered gold to take your whores baby; a baby that she had said she didn't want?" Eskel chuckled shaking his head unable to stop a grin from splitting his face.
"Yes, I... didn't want her to hurt it and... I knew the others would help" Geralt said trying to brush it off as mothing. He didn't want them to think he'd coveted the child after hearing her first tiny whimpers.
" and now you and Yennefer are raising two girls and a bard?" Vesemir asked with a chuckle eyes crinkling as he smiled at his son. Everyone chose to ignore Jaskier who stuttered at the comment of being 'raised' by Geralt.
"He's a glutton for punishment" Yennefer smirked finding it amusing that both Vesemir and Eskel found
"I hadn't known she was a girl at first, it was only that night I actually checked" Geralt huffed growing a tad embarrassed.
"So for a whole day you didn't even know what you had?" Eskel gawfed before roaring with laughter, he could imagine the look on geralts face as he discovered she was in fact a female.
"No, and he wouldn't let anyone hold her much either! I had to physically wrestle him for her" Yennefer added fanning the flames in geralts cheeks as he got more and more embarrassed
"Well I for one am happy with yet another addition to the family" Vesemir smiled slowly raising the child and began to pat her back burping her.
Eskel and Geralt smiled, it would appear the old man had missed having youngsters about.
Vesemir was a combat trainer back when kaer morhen was in its prime but when he was not training he was helping with the much smaller children that were left for the Witcher's to find.
And it was safe to say the old Witcher hadn't lost his touch.

The Donor chapter 1
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
JJ's POV
I was worried. My best friend's desk was covered with brochures about traditional surrogacy after Garcia left. I thought maybe he was taking not having kids too far, as he had a year after Maeve died. "Spence, I didn't know you were in the market for a surrogate." I said to my friend who had just come back with a new cup of coffee.
"It's something I'm just considering, Jayje." Reid replied as he sat down. "I haven't met my soulmate yet." He'd thought Maeve was his soulmate but she had made it very clear to him during his brain bleed 7 months ago that she hadn't been. I guess his brain was trying to tell him something.
Because I didn't make this offer lightly and it was Reid - my best friend, "You didn't consider asking me?" I asked. Spencer looked at me.
"JJ, you're married and the mother of my godsons. That would be highly inappropriate, not to mention unfair to Will and the boys." Spencer replied, making my heart sink. Why was he so stupidly stubborn? Didn't he get that I would do anything for him?
"I'm just worried that a surrogate you might choose will take advantage of you, Spence." I explained. Spencer started cleaning off his desk in annoyance, something he did as a distraction. "With me you wouldn't have to worry about that."
"I appreciate your concern, but it is really inappropriate." He murmured. Which for Spencer, amounted to his saying, 'Keep your nose out of my business…'
--
Reader POV:
It's funny how you can find your soulmate through the most ridiculous of decisions. When I lost my first husband and child to a drunk driver, I skipped denial altogether and was furious with myself. What if I had insisted that my husband stay home a few more days instead of driving over a mountainous icy pass? Both he and my daughter might still be alive today if I had just been a little more persistent.
My fury lasted two months. Each stage up to acceptance lasted two months in fact. When I reached acceptance, I had no more fucks to give... I was well and truly broken, believing that my soulmate had been killed. Looking back, I’d loved my first husband but deep down, I somehow knew that he hadn't been the one Fate intended me to have.
For one thing, I shouldn't have been able to see him very clearly in my dreams. Second, my senses would have been on edge before meeting him and finally, there would be some mishap forcing us together.
Anyways, on the day I met Spencer, I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a surrogate due to the many creeps that lied. In fact, I had ignored all warnings from both my friends and family about how it was best to wait for my soulmate to father my child. Up until the day I met Spencer... the first of the three signs, my visions, were extremely blurry.
There were a few profiles I'd been given that I wouldn't mind meeting with, if they were interested. One was a real estate broker, one was a high school teacher and the last one worked for the FBI as a profiler for the BAU. All but one didn't want contact with the resulting child or children. You can just guess who **did** want contact...
Truth be told, I kept coming back to the third profile quite often. There was something about him that piqued my interest, something that I couldn't quite put my finger on and I'd already been on edge for a week.
---
[Dream Sequence]
I was heavily pregnant with my soulmate's children and listening to him read The Indian In The Cupboard while soft Mozart plays in the background. He suddenly stops and says, "Are you sure everything is okay, Y/N?"
"You asked that question 15 minutes ago." I chided with a giggle, snuggling up to him as he set the book down and lifted me onto his lap.
"You're frowning." He said.
"I just wish we could have met without making a contract for a baby..." I sighed.
"Yes but then we wouldn't be having our twins now." He murmured, affectionately stroking my swollen belly with two of his long fingers.
"Spencer, what did I tell you about that particular area?!" I yelped. My soulmate softly laughs.
"I can't help it." He said softly. I roll my eyes at this grand understatement.
[End Dream Sequence]
---
Spencer POV
[Dream Sequence]
I was holding my soulmate close in bed. We both seemed exhausted when we heard a baby's cry. "My turn, Y/N." I murmured.
"It was your turn last time. Just because y/d/n is a complete Daddy's girl, does not mean you get to hog *all* the midnight feedings, Spencer." Y/N complained.
"You get to feed her during the day. I'm at work all day. Let me have the midnight feedings at least. She's not going to stop until one of us goes in." I shot back.
"Fine. You can have the midnight feedings." Y/N muttered.
[End Dream Sequence]
I blinked. I'd never even seen my soulmate during dreams before so to see her this clearly during a daydream took my breath away. Currently, I was concentrating on picking the mother of my prospective child from the files on my desk. I'd already gone through three of the five files and the choices so far had not impressed me. Every file so far indicated that the mother would not allow contact even if the donor wished it.
I couldn't donate under those circumstances. I sighed and opened the fourth, expecting the same. Instead, I see a photo of my soulmate. She'd written down on the form that if the donor wished, he could remain in contact with the child/children. I intended to be a hands on father for my kids.
“You okay, Spence?” JJ asked. I still was unsure if JJ had listened to me.
“Yeah. I think I've made my choice now.” I said as I gathered up my messenger bag and headed to the clinic.
---
Reader POV
I was so focused on wanting to figure out what I was missing that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and bumped into a tall lean, wiry, gorgeous man with messy nearly shoulder length brown hair and mischievous, intelligent brown eyes. “I’m sorry.” I said immediately.
“It’s okay.” he said kindly. “I was preoccupied with something else.” I grinned and got up. Noticing my papers on the floor, I quickly picked them up. Our hands met when I reached for his file and I felt a quick electric spark as our bare skin made contact.
“I was considering sperm donors.” I said as I realized that his eye color was between the shades of milk chocolate and amber, not the shades of complete gray as I was accustomed to.
“Oh, you're going for surrogacy?” he asked out of curiosity. I nodded. “Well congratulations in advance to you and your...”
“I’m not married.” I blurt as his file fell open and my face turned scarlet. His lips made a perfect ‘O’ as he stared into my dark blue eyes.
“Your eyes are the most beautiful shade of blue I've ever seen.” he murmured, making me blink in shock. “Would you have dinner with me? Maybe we could talk about the contract, if you're still interested.” I nodded. We made arrangements to meet at 5:30 for dinner and as he walked away, I realized I didn't know his name. Disappointed, I headed home and after setting my alarm for 4:30 so I could get ready, I fell asleep.
---
A half hour later, I was standing in front of the restaurant, waiting for him to show up. I was wearing a sweetheart dress in blue with white pumps and white jacket. "Y/N?" I turned to see the same tall, lean, wiry, gorgeous man that I had knocked over earlier stride over to me with messy nearly shoulder length brown hair and mischievous, intelligent brown eyes. I nervously nod. "Dr. Spencer Reid." He held out his hand for me to shake. I clasped it and gave him a firm handshake.
“I didn't think we had exchanged names...” I murmured as he opened the door to the restaurant for me.
“Oh we didn't. I’ve been looking into surrogacy myself and your file was the only one that interested me.” I blinked. Mutual interest? Rather unheard of at this time, because I had a friend who did the same thing as me and her donor couldn't even give a rat’s ass to care. “I’m surprised you're 13 years younger than me.”
“I wasn't expecting my soulmate to be older, either.” I replied evenly as we sat at our assigned table. He chuckled. “What do you do for a living?”
“I’m an FBI Agent with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. What about you?” he replied, then asked.
“Romance novelist.” I could tell that he was the type that didn't read romance novels. Probably not his style. However, he got an interested expression on his face.
“Hey, do you write under the pseudonym of Krysta Wickham?” I blinked in surprise and nodded. That was indeed my author’s pseudonym. “Blind Shot is my favorite novel.” Blind Shot was my first novel. I had based the hero off of my then-unknown soulmate in my dreams.
“I never pegged you for a romance reader.” I replied after the waitress took our order. Spencer smiled at me.
“My therapist wanted me to read outside of the box.” he said with a shrug. “Yours by far were the easiest to read... I'm surprised that I was able to connect with the hero, actually.”
“Thank you but I’m not.” I said with a smirk. He gave me a puzzled look. “Since Nicholas is technically based on you.”
“He is?” Spencer asked. I nodded.
“I’ve been having dreams about you since eighteen. Nicholas's tone and the way he says his words are based on you, or rather the dreams that I had.” I explained. Spencer nodded thoughtfully. “But back to what we're actually here to talk about.”
“I do want to be a hands on father.” he murmured. “I apologize if that is not what you're looking for...” I absolutely adored this man. He **was** my only choice.
“I would love it if my child had both parents in their lives.” I said softly as the waitress brought our meals.
He held my gaze and smiled. For a moment, I felt like Bella in Twilight when Edward dazzled her. “Have you planned anything?” he asked. I gave him a puzzled, blank look. “You’re not planning to get pregnant right away?”
“Well I was going to wait a bit since I wasn't expecting to find my soulmate, why?!” I asked out of worry that he might back out. He thinned his lips.
“I don't want our child to start life in a petri dish.” He explained. I blinked.
‘A turkey baster isn't the answer either...’ I thought with amusement. Aloud, I asked, “Come home with me after dinner?” He nodded.
---
Spencer's POV:
I couldn't believe it. My new favorite romance author was my soulmate! She's gorgeous and I can't wait to get started on our child. I bit my lip. “What if...I want more than just one child with you?” I cautiously asked. She blushed.
“We’ll see.” Okay I admit, her answer was fair. We finished our meals, paid and headed to her house. When we got inside, she pulled a novel off her bookshelf and quickly scribbled something on the fly leaf before handing it to me. It was a first edition of Blind Shot. “I’ve been saving this copy for you.” I opened it.
It read, ‘To Spencer, the inspiration for Nicholas Carmichael, I love you so much and hope you don't mind being Nicholas. Love, Y/F/N Y/L/N aka Krysta Wickham.’
“Thank you.” I said, swallowing the lump in my throat and putting the book down on the coffee table. Suddenly her lips were upon mine; they were soft, and full. I was sure my heart skipped a beat. This was different from any of my rather limited experiences with women. Her kiss was unsure, though honest, I knew and somehow it made me want it to continue indefinitely. I brought my free hand up to cup her cheek and marveled at how soft her skin was. Her arms had somehow made it around the backside of my neck, and I was suddenly hyperaware of the large difference in our height. She stood on her toes, legs straining to keep her upright before her full weight was against me and I stumbled back to sit on the couch as I was very clumsy.
I was surprised when she tore my button down shirt off and unknotted my tie. The intimate touch of her hands against my bare chest was obvious and I think she enjoyed knowing just how affected I was by her touch. "Y/N," I protested when she began loosening my belt. "Don't you-" I cleared my throat suddenly. "-think the fact that I'm half-way undressed and you're not is a little unfair?" I asked.
"Maybe I'm waiting for you to do something about that." she answered slyly as she grabbed my hands and brought them to the top of her dress. As I shakily began to unzip her dress, she once again began working my belt loose.
Soon our clothes, save for our underthings, were splayed across the sofa around us.  She once more straddled my waist as our lips met. One of my warm hands cupped her cheek, while the other deftly worked at unhooking the back of her bra. Her fingers hooked under the waistband of my briefs, slowly pulling them down to reveal my leaking manhood.
I felt myself harden further for her as we made out on the couch. She loosened my belt and slipped her hand down to cup my growing bulge. “Spencer...” she moaned as she straddled me and her pussy met my bulge.
“Spence.” I breathlessly corrected as I took off her dress and bra, staring at her beautiful breasts. “Call me Spence and we should take this to the bedroom. It'll be more comfortable there.”  she nodded at the suggestion and got up to head for the bedroom. I was just a moment behind her, discarding my underwear before following.
Slowly, she slid her panties off for the first time, showing off her neatly trimmed bush. I swallowed convulsively as I took in her naked form.  Again we tumbled onto the bed, and I leaned over her, one knee parting her legs.
My lips met hers again. Slowly I left a trail of kisses down her throat. She reached for my head again, lacing her fingers through my brown locks, and pulled me back to face her. My brown eyes looked back at her, wordlessly questioning whether she wanted me to continue. She answered by kissing me and wrapping her legs around my backside. I grinned at her mischievously, and ran my hands languorously across her abdomen. I brought my head further south, trailing kisses down to her belly button, before coming up to flick my tongue at each of her pert nipples, bringing them to a stiffness for a reason other than being cold.
I then enveloped one with my mouth, suckling lightly, my eyes looking up to meet her own lidded ones when she moaned in pleasure. I would not leave the other neglected, leaving her to wonder who had taught me to make love like this, if anyone had. Nobody had as my eidetic memory just kicked in and became beneficial.
She was taken by surprise when I moved lower, trailing kiss after kiss across her stomach, and then bent my head to her mound, pulling her legs up to rest on my shoulders for better access. Knowing that this would drive us both up the wall, I kissed her mound. “Spence...” she whined. I grinned again as I greedily sucked her clit.
---
Reader POV
“Fuck, Spence.” I murmured as his stubble abraded my sensitive skin. He inserted his finger, though it wasn't long until he inserted a second.
“Isn’t that what I'm doing now, love?” he cheekily asked. "You know, I love the way you look with my fingers inside you."
“As much as I love that, I want your cock inside me Spence.” I moaned. For a second, I thought he would ignore my impulsive demand. “I need to feel you.”
“So, my fingers aren't working.” he sighed dramatically. It finally occurred to me that he was using Nicholas's lines from near the end of the first book.
“Are you seriously using Nicholas's lines from the book?” I asked. He laughed.
“I have an eidetic memory...” he said through his laughter. I snorted. “And I think you like that because you're finally orgasming.” He was right. I couldn't believe it. Between that and the slow, gentle thrusts of two of his long, piano fingers within me, once in a while brushing across a part of me that made me thrust back, the pleasure seemed to make something wind up tightly inside of me.
"Spencer," I gasped, "I want you inside me, now." I meant it as an order, though I was sure it sounded more like a plea.
"You're sure?" he queried.
"Yes." It took a moment but Spencer brought my sex to nearly meet his own. I arched my hips towards him, begging him to just hurry up, impatient to quell the fire burning within. He fumbled a bit, missing his mark twice before he slowly entered me. I loosely wrapped my legs around his waist as he began to thrust, slowly, with utmost care. One hand caressed my body, while the other cradled my head as he kissed my lips once more. I eagerly tasted the mix of my juices with the bittersweet flavor that was all Spencer.
He found that spot within me, easily rubbing against it with each thrust of our hips crashing against each other. We worked into a frenzied pace, until finally that spring within me broke, unleashing wave after wave of euphoric pleasure while Spencer's thrusts continued, though now short and urgent. Suddenly he stilled, and I watched as every muscle tensed.
Still recovering from my own climax, I could feel his throbbing length pulse as his own was met. I was, however, suddenly aware of my name being desperately muttered, and I smiled in satisfaction. Spencer tiredly kissed my neck. “Did you like my acting as Nicholas or...” he asked.
“That eidetic memory of yours sure came in handy.” I said, grinning. “Just warn me before you do it next time. I may want a recorder so that we can reenact Nicholas and Estella’s steamy scenes for my writing.”
“Are you writing a second book?” He asked with interest. I nodded. My first book had been incredibly popular, according to my editor after it was published. “I’d love to help you write it.”
“You’re welcome to verbally model Nicholas any time for me as I do want to modify his character to closely resemble you, if you don't mind.” I said.
“No, I don't mind.” he said, gently fondling my breasts. “So why did you choose surrogacy?”
“My husband and daughter were killed by a drunk driver. I wanted another child.” I remarked as I could feel him hardening inside me again and he pressed kisses to my neck.
“If you’ll allow it... It doesn't have to be just the one baby that I give you, you know.”
“We only agreed to one.” I remarked.
“*I* did ask you what if I wanted more kids with you.” he reminded me.“You’re my soulmate.” I smiled, imagining 6 kids.
Never would I have imagined 9 children!
---
Spencer POV
I walked in and sat down at my desk. It had been wonderful to wake up to Y/N’s blow job earlier. “So what happened last night with Y/F/N Y/L/N, potential baby mama?" Alvez asked. My lips curved into a smirk.
"I'm not telling." I replied. I just wanted to keep the fact that I had a soulmate for a bit longer to myself. 'Well that makes the contract unnecessary now' I thought. I checked my watch. Maybe I should call...
'Probably not a good idea...' Y/N spoke to me, which nearly made me nearly choke on the coffee I was drinking.
'What? How...' I sent back.
'You didn't know that we could communicate like this?' She asked. I hadn't known but now that I did, I found it kind of hot.
'No, I didn't...How did you know?' I inquired.
'My parents are soulmates.' She explained. 'It drove me nuts when I got into trouble as a child.' I smiled at that as I shifted in my chair. 'Another reason that I should have known my husband wasn't my mate. And I was wondering,' here she paused before continuing, 'Do you prefer natural conception or...'
'This isn't the time to be having this conversation.' I chided as I scooted my chair a bit farther underneath my desk.
'Ooh...this arouses you?' She teased. 'Cool, new bit of information I can use!'
'Y/N...' I groaned in warning.
'Okay, okay... I'll save it for when you get home...' she said, laughing.
'I mean offspring conception talk can wait.' I sent. 'Anything else is fine, baby girl.'
----
Reader POV
I laugh at the idea of Reid being aroused by talk of conceiving a child with me at work. 'Y/N!' Spencer complained.
'Sorry, Reid.' I said, trying not to laugh again.
'Spence...' His retort caught me off guard. 'Please call me Spence...' I blinked at his request. I expected to call him Reid until our child was born.
'Okay, Spence.' I replied.
With that, I shut down my line of communication with him to give him a chance to work. Occasionally, I heard snippets of his thoughts related to his work and they made me shiver.
'It's no wonder that Spencer wants a bundle of joy to distract him when he isn't at work.' I thought as I cleaned my apartment. 'What he needs is a family apart from his team...'
'You're not wrong there, Y/N. Are you sure that you aren't a profiler in disguise?' He teased. I groaned at the joke.
'Do you have a case?' I asked instead.
'No, what you're hearing is my thoughts related to past cases.' He explained. 'We do a lot of paperwork here.'
'Why am I not surprised?' I deadpanned and the sound of his laughter soothes my nerves.
'How can I shut down our connection?' He asked. 'Luke's getting suspicious.'
'Just imagine you're hanging up on a phone call.' I replied.
'Okay, I'll see you later, Y/N." He said and I felt the connection temporarily sever.
'Does that mean he doesn't want his team to know about me?' I think to myself as I fix myself lunch. I didn't like the implication of being hidden like dirty laundry. 6:00 comes sooner than I think because I'm awoken by Spencer knocking on the door.
"Did you not want the..." Apparently, Spencer must have heard my earlier thoughts before hanging up.
"Oh no, that's not it, Y/N. I just wanted a little bit of time to keep the fact that I have a soulmate to myself. You know, savor the fact." He said softly. "I want the team to know about us."
'That was so sweet,' I think to myself. Aloud, I said, "Natural or..."
"I actually think we should try natural first but if you want to do artificial insemination first..." Spencer said, looking at me.
"Either way we decide to do it, multiples run in my family." I informed Spencer. "I'm the only one in 5 generations not to have a twin or a higher number multiple siblings." His eyes mischievously sparkled.

"You don't mind?" I asked. He shook his head.
"I like kids." He admitted.
