So Atomic Time of Monsters early incarnations had a zombie-apocalpyse turned Superhero setting sequel

As in, supervillains and superheroes showed up in a city that managed to become a metropolis in the wasteland, a shining beacon from afar that is dystopian up close. Where public expression is cracked down on by the basis of “better safe than sorry”.

What was interesting is that a large number of characters were based on research created in attempts to make “scaled down kaiju humans” : the powers without the gigantism.

And now I’m thinking of a Dr.Moreau type villain making anthro versions of kaiju in setting, though for ease uses mostly DNA from those that could be rendered in suitmation.

Why at least one mad scientist in the ATOMverse will be convinced the reanimation viruses are linked to origin of life on earth

The connection to humanity in only known “natural” samples only infecting humans will fit into religious ideas of humanity’s importance and something like EVAngelion idea of an origin of life.

The ability to make dead tissue animate (while still connected to a body with an inner pulp of living tissue) brings to mind primordial slime forming into the first life forms.

The sheer tenacity of fish , and their muscles frequent ability to move when dead duet to sodium can be linked to zombies by a madman. And the ocean is the cradle of life!

Thinking about the Beyonder kaiju

I can't help but wonder if the KT meteor drove a few kaiju up to the survice to be caught by the Beyonders but I doubt they got many and those able to be captured would likely be unimpressive in order to be caught without expending a large fleet (the Beyonder army in Vol 2 can justify bringing their kaiju with the official records because they will be used to subjugate the kaiju created on their new Kaiju Factory Planet). Giant Jawless fish and Cambrian types.

Unlike the SAoM version where an unseen Ghidorah homage was earth-borne kaiju. 

Wish I had thought of this during of the past contests,.

Wishlist if Atomic Time of Monsters somehow got an animated series

Creative time padding such as showing a flashback episode or episodes consisting of newsclips about some of the monsters.

Give the prank -Tor trio of Allotor, Cerator  and Collosaraptor,  a narrative role as the subordinates of Tyranta. I could see them setting off pits and other pranks they set up for eachother on intruders to the island. 

Perhaps glimpses of the Beyonders forces in short scenes similar to how Vegeta was built up showing conquering and destroying planets on the way to Earth.

Have glimpses of the Beyonder monsters attacking around the world, but only showing a single head or claw or tail at a time , and make a contest for kids to try and design what they think the attacking monsters looked like.

Had a dream before

I dreamed I had somehow forgot that Tyrantisterror had made a monster similar to my entry for the contest, making my idea look unoriginal.

If I was a lucid dreamer I would have realized that’s BS.

Working on a review.of Atomic Time of Monsters Volume 2

I ...am going to be more scathing on the final chapter.than most fans probably.

But I am only harsh out of love.

The monster parts are great, and my issues with them sometimes going away on re-reading. 

But the human and reptodie parts...seem to contradict a lot of the themes and such building up. (and a conversation  on pg 244 gets repeated on 254) 

Still...that ending sticks the landing even after almost swerving off a cliff there, regaining my love with only 3 paragraphs. 

Lerna comes off unintentionally as a petty monster and the other characters feel out of character.

It feels like one of the dumber jokes from superhero movie. I had flashbacks to Superman making out with Louis lane while people lay trapped under rubble and the pettiness 

I got some thoughts on Grossk.

Maybe its someone who recovered from depression recently , but Grossk saying her people don't deserve to have a voice on whether they live or die is...really awful to me.

Spin off stories I’d like to see of The Atomic Time of monsters

A story anthology of the “ancestors” that gave rise to the reanimation viruses that were used to create the Omega Pathogen. Could have stories taking place in hell with the demonic creators of some strains. Tales of the living dead and what happened to them in moments before they were neutralized in a way that left useful tissue when their remains found by SPOOK centuries later. Some of the last more feral living dead and their encounters with SPOOK.

A xeno-anthropology survey of items from the remains Beyonder ships 

Fastforward into the future where the kaiju are basically space mercenaries. Someone gave Diablosaurus an arm cannon. (I might write fanfiction about that myself)

It was a two-tusked, flea-legged, parrot footed motorcycle...

Post reading, this made me smile and is something I want to see more of

Bobo the giant spider tying up the monster-capturing robots rather than destroying due to her pacifistic nature and not understanding what a robot is was so wholesome
