The Unsolved Murder of Jessie Earl

Jessie Earl was a 22-year-old art student studying at Eastbourne College of Art and Design. Described as independent and strong, Jessie enjoyed reading and walking along the coast.

On 15th May 1980, Jessie rang her mother from a payphone on the seafront, she said she would visit on Friday. On Friday, when Jessie did not return home, her mother decided to go to Jessie’s apartment and see why she had changed her plans.

On 18th May, Jessie’s mother arrived at her daughter’s apartment and realised something was wrong- the place looked abandoned yet Jessie’s purse remained on the bed, the diary Jessie wrote in daily gave no indication she had gone anywhere. The police were called but no trace of Jessie or clues as to what happened to her could be found.

In 1989, a skeleton was discovered in undergrowth on Beachy Head, this was identified as Jessie’s body. The body was nude with a bra tied around the wrists, her jewellery was missing. A coroner claimed Jessie had committed suicide despite her parents arguing that she had no reason to and was not unhappy.

In 2000, Jessie’s death was classified as murder, however due to the original investigation being closed as a suicide, evidence had been destroyed including the bra which had been found, this prevented modern forensic techniques being used and was described as a ‘significant mistake.’

Serial killer and sex offender, Peter Tobin, was known to have been in the area of the murder at the time and Jessie had fit his victim profile however due to a lack of evidence from the crime scene no link could be found. Jessie’s murder was also linked to the unsolved murder of Louise Kays, who disappeared from Eastbourne in 1968, Louise also frequented the Beachy Head area. It was also speculated Louise was a victim of Peter Tobin, though no evidence could be found. Louise’s murder is unsolved.

Jessie’s murder remains unsolved.

Will any of the surviving Zarelli family members recognize this flannel blanket as something used in their family back in the day? . A man's cap was found near the box in 1957. Police were able to find a witness who remembered the man with that particular cap, however, he was never found. Did the man with the cap have anything to do with the murder? Will any of the surviving Zarelli family members remember anyone in their family wearing this cap? . I can't wait to hear the explanation of how this young child beaten and malnourished, had all these scars and surgical marks on his body and no one seemed to know who he was. . A child killed more than 60 years ago has finally been identified through police work and DNA testing, the Philadelphia Police Department said.

The case known as "The Boy in the Box" is Philadelphia's oldest unsolved murder. On February 25, 1957, a naked, emaciated boy between the ages of 4 and 6 was found dead in a box in a wooded area of northeast Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith said he was severely beaten. No one ever showed up to request it, said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.

Victim Identity

The boy has now been identified as Joseph Augustus Zarelli, born January 13, 1953, Smith said. Genealogists used the boy's DNA to look for possible ancestry and eventually determined the identity of his birth parents, Smith said, adding that investigators learned that a Social Security number was never released for Joseph. It's unclear who was responsible for Joseph's death, Smith said. "We have our suspicions as to who might be responsible, but it would be irresponsible of me to share those suspicions," Smith said, citing the ongoing investigation. Katelyn Slivenski was only 24 years-old when she was tragically killed in June 2020. The young mother-of-two was living in Knoxville, Tennessee at the time of her death. Katelyn was shot and killed close to her home in the Western Heights neighborhood.

Police were called around 7:00 AM on the morning of June 30th about an unresponsive female in the 1200 block of Better Tomorrow Drive. When first responders arrived, they discovered that the young woman, later identified as Katelyn, had been shot. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Very few updates have been given about the investigation into Katelyn's death. In 2021, Katelyn's older sister Jessica Slivenski told reporters that several people had told her a similar story about the events leading up to the shooting. Jessica said that she heard Katelyn was out looking for help because she had lost power at her house and wanted to charge her phone. According to the report, Jessica was told "someone was going to let her sister charge her phone, but then a couple called her sister’s name, she went over to them and was never seen again." This is believed to be the last known sighting of Katelyn alive.

It's unclear if investigators have identified any of the people that Katelyn may have interacted with prior to her murder. Investigators have also yet to comment on what they believe might be a motive for the killing. Jessica believes that drugs might have played a role in her sister's murder, but this has not been confirmed.

I thought the "detrans lesbian" was a little sus, so I checked meowchinery's blog, and was instantly hit with this bio, multiple openly transphobic posts, and reblogs directly from self-proclaimed TERFS. (Full disclosure: some of these blogs were marked red on Shinigami Eyes before, but I did mark some of them myself after checking their posts. I also marked some users red after taking the screenshots. I am not using Shinigami Eyes as my "proof" here; I don't need to when they're so open about it.)

I replied to the Hello Kitty post with "@.meowchinery silence terf", and unsolvedmurder blocked me. Before that, though, I did check out their blog to see if they'd posted anything explicitly transphobic. They mostly post innocuous aesthetics, but I did find the following:

Implication that men can't have clitorises/all women have clitorises, and stating that people without them shouldn't be allowed on the site (not to mention ignoring that FGM and especially intersex GM exist 🙄). Even as a joke, this plays directly into TERF beliefs about the supposed inherent evil of DMAB people. It's just biological essentialism, babes!

No TW for suicide, but a TW for *checks notes* ...sex positivity? Not "sex mention" or "nsfw" or tags that would normally be used for sex-repulsed aces, survivors, or anything like that. Sex positivity. Sex-negative and anti-sex worker beliefs are core to radical feminism, so naturally they disapprove of sex positivity.

Literally just lying about anal sex in the name of "feminism." In case anybody reading is unaware: you don't need a prostate to enjoy anal sex, it is not painful if you do it correctly (same as vaginal sex lol), and it is perfectly hygienic if you do it correctly (again same as vaginal sex lollll). Maybe this is TMI but I'm speaking from experience on that. The idea that DFAB people only consent to anal sex under pressure from a man, and that DFAB people cannot derive pleasure from it, is literally radfem bullshit. Also saying that anal sex is inherently unhygienic while also saying it's for gay men... homophobic!

Please don't harass any of these people, but please do block them. I'd also encourage you to report any posts that are openly hateful.
