‼️You can’t get much better than this… for serious whisky collectors only‼️ • Mythical Beasts – The Qilin: 30 Year Old Bruichladdich Single Cask Malt Whisky This exquisite and very rare 30 year old Single Malt from the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay is one of only 212 bottles from Cask No 2283. We have the privilage of a very, very, very limited number of bottles so be quick as they wont be around forever. Who Is The Qilin? She is a magical beast whose mythology combines the essence of Scotland with the spirit of Asia. Galloping through eastern forests, proudly sporting a majestic horn and with a wreath of divine flames coating its equine form, it mirrors the Unicorn, the national symbol of Scotland. Their distant familial ties interweave the sterling values of Scotland with the magic of Asia, representing wisdom, justice and truth. Key Facts About This Single Cask Whisky From: Bruichladdich Distillery Region: Islay Cask#: 2283 ABV: 53.3% Bottled: Natural colour and without chill filtration Outturn: 212 bottles Size: 700ml Tasting Notes By Ian Wisniewski (Spirits Writer & Broadcaster) Nose: Focussed with hints of espresso, dark chocolate truffles and caramel. Then toasted notes with linseed and extra virgin olive oil. Palate: Delicate texture, lightly creamy vanilla broadens into panna cotta, chocolate truffles and espresso. Then crisp toasted notes usher in malty, digestive biscuits and linseed. A finale of orange marmalade on buttery, well-done toast. Finish: Juicy fruit and balancing dryness, with a medley of figs, light oak, toasted notes, espresso, raisins and chocolate truffles. • • • #craftyconnoisseur #whisky #whiskeyreview #whiskyoftheday #whiskeynerd #whiskycollection #whiskycollector #whiskycommunity #bruichladdich #bruichladdichdistillery #bruichladdichwhisky #bruichladdich30yearold #mythicalbeasts #mythicalbeastswhisky #qilin #scottishwhisky #singlemalt #singlecask #singlecaskwhisky #singlecasknation (at Crafty Connoisseur) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjVH0QXsHZi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Well, if 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we could all use a little more whiskey in our lives.
So as we look ahead to whatever 2021 has in store, I’m stoked to share our first review of the year with y’all.
Unlike every bottle I’ve reviewed prior, this one showed up on my doorstep—not in the hands of a FedEx driver—but in the hands of Evan, the Tennessee Market Manager for Edrington Americas.
I bring that up first and foremost because it was a pleasure getting to spend some time with Evan and hear first hand about what makes this bourbon unique. And second, because if you’ve never heard of Edrington, you should know this is the same company that produces The Macallan (among others).
So when you’re about to review a bourbon finished with sherry oak staves, it’s good to know the folks behind it certainly know how to handle the sherry maturation process.

@corsairdistillery out of Nashville, Tennessee is definately on the cutting edge of American craft distilling. In the land of corn whiskey, they put out some very interesting takes on American whiskey. This is my first exposure to them and I'm very impressed. This single malt whiskey uses 3 batches of malted barley each smoked over either peat, cherrywood or beechwood. The result is a slightly sweet, almost bourbon like, whiskey with some smoky characteristics of a pleated Scotch. This whiskey makes a great Manhattan but is also amazing near. At the $45-50 price point, you cant go wrong. #whisky #whiskey #singlemalt #whiskeyreview #nashville #tennessee #malt #dram #instagood #photooftheday #craftbeer #eater #thrive #bourbon #instawhiskey #drink #corsair #triplesmoke #marylandbrewer MARYLANDBREWER.COM (at North Beach, Maryland)

WHISKEY REVIEW: Henry McKenna Single Barrel Bottled In Bond 10-Year-Old . ABV: 50% (100 Proof) . AGE: 10 Years . PRICE: $30 MSRP . DISTILLER: @HeavenHillDistillery . REGION: Louisville, Kentucky (USA) .
MASHBILL: 75% Corn, 13% Rye, and 12% Barley (same mashbill as @ElijahCraig, @EvanWilliamsBourbon, and Fighting Cock) .
CASK: New Charred Oak
. NOSE: Aside from the oak, the most dominant part of the nose is definitely the Rye. I’d describe it as a spicy burn on the front end with the wood present, and some vanilla on the back end. Overall, a good nose, especially if you enjoy the spice. . PALATE: Though the mashbill is the same as Elijah Craig and Evan Williams, I think the Rye shows up much more in Henry McKenna Single Barrel 10-Year-Old. It’s spicy up front, but the vanilla shows up towards the finish. And there’s a pleasant amount of oak in the aftertaste. Also has a nice feel in the mouth, full bodied like many Bottled In Bond expressions. . NOTES: I’m admittedly late to the party on this one. It really is a great value at $30 a bottle in both quality and presentation. It’s a Single Barrel with each bottle being hand numbered with the barrel number and date. Though it wouldn’t get my vote for Best Bourbon, it did just that at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (@SFWSpiritsComp). However, I appreciate that this year’s Best Bourbon Award Winner is an expression that most people will be able to find to enjoy themselves. And I do concur in that it is a very good selection, and a great value. . OVERALL RATING: 89 . . #Follow @WhiskeyJourneys #WhiskeyJourneys #FollowMe . . 📷 @WhiskeyJourneys . . . . #HenryMcKenna #HeavenHill #ElijahCraig #EvanWilliams #FightingCock #OldFitzgerald #HeavenHillDistillery #Whiskey #Whisky #Bourbon #WhiskeyReview #BourbonReview #TastingNotes #Review #WhiskeyLife #BourbonLife #WhiskeyLover #BourbonLover #BourbonBar #WhiskeyBar #CarmellasPlatesAndPints #Bar #IrishWhiskey #Scotch #Alcohol #Liquor #Cheers . @WhiskeyJourneys @HeavenHillDistillery @ElijahCraig @EvanWilliamsBourbon @CarmellasPlatesAndPints (at Carmella's Plates & Pints)

✅The Hibiki 17 years is an interesting whisky Due to its richness and quality, most of the people mistake it as a single malt rather than a blend. It is made from whiskies coming from other Suntory distilleries around Japan. These are Yamazaki (Single Malt), Hakushu (Single Malt) and Chita (Grain whisky) Pretty exiting combination isn't 😁. Another beautiful aspect of this whisky is the 24-sided bottle (decanter) 👌that distinguishes the Hibiki 17 and it represents the number of hours in a day as well as the number of seasons in the traditional Japanese lunar calendar. Even the label is made from precious echizen paper which is handmade. Tasting 📝: 🥃Aroma: Orange peels, honey, smokey char, plums, lots of toffee and butterscotch, it is a solid complex aroma. 🥃Taste/Palate: Orange marmalade, tropical fruits, toffee and butterscotch, wood/oak, sweet vanillin and hint of spiciness, very well balanced on the palate 🥃The Finish: Remarkably long with toffee and butterscotch sweetness balanced with bitter oakyness and touch of cinnamon. ✨Conclusion: One of the finest examples of Japanese approach to whisky making, anyone lucky enough to get their hands on a bottles or a glass will definitely want more ✅🥃🥃🥃✅. . . . . #whisky#whiskey#singlemalt#scotch#scotchwhisky#rarewhiskies#whiskyandcigars#lovescotch#whiskeyreview#cigars#cigar#singlemalts#craftbeer#malt#dram#themacallan#blendedwhisky#bourbon#glenfiddich#rum#whiskyporn#sydneydrinks#hibiki#hibiki17#hibiki12#japanesewhisky#balvenie#cognac#macallan#instawhisky (at Sydney, Australia)

(via Jameson's "The Blender's Dog" Irish Whiskey - Review)
A very nice, almost dangerously quaffable, somewhat expensive Irish whiskey from Jameson's The Whiskey Makers series. Also a (very) little bit about real dogs...

I was at a whiskey tasting at Micah’s house when our buddy Jeff gifted me a bottle of Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon, selected by the fine folks over at Fairview Liquors and Fine Wines here in Nashville.
As you can see from the liquid line, I’m quite deep into this bottle. If I’m being honest—and if you follow our Instagram Stories, you’ve probably seen this once or twice—I’ve been spiking my Southern Style ‘Merican Mule with 1.5oz from this bottle for a strong cocktail on nights I’m feeling something a little different than whiskey neat.
But this bourbon certainly stands on its own. And at 120 proof, you know it’s going to be a party, one way or another.

By far the best #tamdhu I have tried. Aged exclusively in sherry casks this 15 year old is a delight. Sweet, but not too sweet. A little bitter, just enough to compliment its earlier notes. Sweet and zesty on the nose while palate has Christmas cake like sweetness with apricot and raspberry coming through mid palate. The finish is creamy and malty. The 46% abv accentuates the positives in a big way. Another great Christmas bottle! . . . #mondaymotivation #whisky #motivationalmonday #whiskybar #whiskycollection #whiskeycollection #instadram #dram #mondaymadness #liquidgold #bourbon #sherrybomb #christmas #kyandkey #instareview #whiskyreview #whiskeyreview #singlemalt #singlecask #sherrycask #kanpai #slainte #whiskyporn #whiskygeek #scotch (at Sydney, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJDiL-gM9E9/?igshid=1chcq0xrfj9s3

(via Blood Oath Pact No. 5 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – Review)
I've been lucky enough to try 4 of the 5 Blood Oath bourbons from Lux Row Distillers. They've all been pretty darn good, but I think this one, No. 5, is the best one yet...
