PS: Due to the new job where I can’t dick around as much I will probably only do my usual lore posts like once every 3 days, but I’ll still be around on my bullshit on the day to day because now I have a long relaxing train ride to do nothing but brainstorm.

For example: Today I realized Hitth has limitations.

Because of course Eos would want to see a world where they were born a pearlcatcher and didn’t have to grow up with the intense psychological strain of being an imperial. And Hitth has to tell them that it can’t show them that. It’s a reality so far removed from Eos’ origin that it doesn’t exist in terms of Hitth’s powers. And it’s not even because Eos is a G2 or one of the Parhelia, it’s because for Eos to have been born a PC means either a world where they had different parents or a world where their parents were born as PCs.

Either of which would fundamentally change the genetic material that makes Eos themself.

In Hitth’s own words “You might as well ask me to show you a world where the Lightweaver made pearlcatchers first.”

Also fun fact: Hitth fucking hates Bestealcian because all she does is come around, see her heart’s desire (which is to kill Actias in a fair fight fyi), then go teach Actias about the weakness that made him lose against her, only to come back to Hitth and get an updated vision of the same thing like 2 weeks later.

And she never gives in to the vision because first and foremost the viewer is just that: an outsider to the other reality. And Betsy wants to experience killing Actias so much she would never ever be content just having seen it happen.

On the other hand, Ashes is extremely susceptible and Hitth can’t wait til he slips up, because his desires are so complex that whenever the day comes where he figures out his ideal reality, if Hitth can show him, he will not be able to resist reaching out to it.

🦋The Luna Moth🦋

The luna moth, or Actias luna, is a nocturnal, light green moth that you might have seen chillin’ in your backyard once or twice.

Appearance

These large moths (2-4 inches in length) are an eerie green color, with a brown line on the tops of their wings and, depending on where you live, a light pink or yellow line surrounded by a slightly larger white line on the bottom. Like many moths, they have 4 eye-like spots on the outer edges of each wing! They are covered in a fuzzy material, with large abdomens, comb-like antennae, and 2 long flaps at the back of their wings.

Habitat

The luna moth calls the north-eastern part of North America its home, ranging from Texas and Florida to Minnesota, Maine, and southern Canada. Many of them live in the neutral climate of the West Virginia and Maryland area in the deciduous wooded areas, which is funny since the elusive “Mothman”, a cryptid known for appearing before small disasters, is often seen. Now, anyways, back to the luna moth.

Personality

They are strong fliers, and like most bugs, are attracted to lights. They mate at after midnight, and the females lay eggs in groups on leaves. The eggs hatch about 1-1/2 weeks later, and out emerge luna moth caterpillars, green and big! They feed on leaves alone, and soon make their cocoon, hatching about a month later as a fully fledged luna moth. The adults, oddly, do not feed on anything!

Misc. Facts

- they belong to the family Saturniidea

- many, many kinds of nocturnal animals call the luna moth their prey

- they are very common, but are usually pretty rarely seen!
