I know all too well that I might be late to the party on this take (still not gonna watch ISWM or delve into the lore for the sake of my health, sorry and thank you✌️), but it only hit me today and I am just elated that Dark is directly responsible for the box from AHWM.

They didn't just find it. They didn't just lead us to the museum that was housing it. They built it, and either left it out for the curators to find or planted it there themself. And their smug ass is sitting there in AHWM, admiring not just another source of power they have complete control over, but one of their own design.

First of all, I'm really happy to know they're more crafty than I gave them credit for -- in every sense of the word. Secondly, this does mean that Mark isn't sweeping them completely under the rug, and that's a fact I'm really dang grateful for; like I get it now, they just didn't have anything to contribute for the on-screen story for ISWM.

But I just hope Mark knows that doesn't deter my interest in Dark at all. If anything, it makes me wonder what other obstacles and tribulations they're responsible for... or WILL be responsible for.

Okay so about MatPats Theory,

-Spoiler warning-

I think he got most details correct. After all most of us did get the hint that Ms. Whitacare has a striking similarity to Celine.

I believe he did get a few tiny things wrong that I will point out here:

It isn't just the old Mark that is Actor Mark. (After all there is an ending that shows Actor "behind the scenes") Which seems to show us that he really is every Mark... he is an actor after all.

In Who killed Markiplier at the very end when Darkiplier looks in the mirror there is still the key detail that... when he walks away... we are still there. We dont move. He does. Which yes could suggest that we are playing as him, but it gets pointed out again and again not just in universe but also on Mark's explanation streams, that we are a character. "Y/N" is a character in universe.

So while I think the Hero-Villain dynamic he pointed out is interesting, And that the "We were Dark all along" could be a possible plot twist, I dont think this is the only way this could go...

After all ISWM is a direct continuation to Adwm and Ahwm. Where Dark and Will show up SEPERATE from us.

But considering the code MatPat did read out (with the 7 Gods) I think this does mean we are straight on the ramp to a showdown of sorts.

Personally I'd love to see Actor have to face the consequences of his actions and come to terms with the fact that he DID hurt people... I do wonder if the regret he shows is just an act tho.

That does lead me to wonder what Celine's Ms. Whitacare's line was about then...

"Do you even know who you are?"

Could it be... are we possessed by the evil house entity?! Is that why Mark thinks we're the villain? IS THAT WHY DARK WANTS OUR SOUL?!

but then where does Damien fit into all of this. Especially since Mark has been teasing his phrase of "Life is ours to choose" from "Hunie Pop" to "Try not to crash simulator"

.....Aaaargh we will have to wait and see I guess.....

IN SPACE WITH MARKIPLIER THEORY!!

Okay, theory time. So Dark is wearing the same outfit at the end of ISWM as he is in AHWM. We know this, even tho we only see his shoes in Space because he’s got the signet ring on and the suit is white. All his other suits are black.

Then there is Wilford. We’ve theorized about him and knew he could teleport and had telepathy as well as time travel. BUT Now we know he can control wormholes (“I said no choices!” While we are going into the wormhole) and he set the date for the same time as Heist!

Then the biggest connection is one of the paths takes you to hunting down Mark Iplier after escaping jail, the jail he was in after Heist when we escaped with Yancy’s help.

I don’t know what this means exactly. I just know that the blue crystal for the wrap core seemed very similar to the blue crystal in the box. And obviously with Dark being in the ending it is directly connecting Heist and Space.

I need more time to think about it. But I needed to compile some evidence while it was still fresh.

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ALL OF THE MARKIVERSE, I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE THE 'KEEP READING' TAB ON MOBILE

it's currently 11:30 pm, and i'm going to share my take on the markiverse that i shall pull completely out of my ass.

it all starts when a homie named actor murders himself to frame a dude for 'making his wife leave him' bc he's sexist and bad and doesn't think women have free will.

after this happens an old friend of his (mayor meowmeow) and actor's ex-wife and mayor meowmeow's twin sister (2econd 2ight 2eer by will wood) get yoinked into a mirror dimension. they do a steven universe fusion and become a demon known as darkiplier (villainbutnot).

see, villainbutnot sacrificed the district attorney (viewer) so that they could take their body bc everyone thinks that viewer is hot, always. (it's true <3 /p)

now, this brings us to the end of iswm where villainbutnot finds a crystal on the ground. he says the line that people find hot, and put that bitch on a box.

here's the fun part, now that box is in a museum. viewer and heist!mark (thief) steal said box from said museum. this is where viewer is allowed to start making choices.

if you go down the 'correct' path of choices, a crazy scientist lady will tell you that taking the box caused the universe to split into a multiverse. however, it's not the box causing the rift, but the crystal itself.

for instance, in one of them a musical prisoner (my boy) will sing at you to stay. in another, a captain will kill mark and will take you on his ship.

almost all of these 'endings' happen at the same time. EXCEPT for the TRUE ending, the one where the scientist tells you what happened (i'll get to this in a moment). when the scientist destroys the box, it takes you to the 'correct' universe, efficiently setting up space. it, however, DOES NOT 'fix' the rift

now, before that universe can happen, we need iswm to happen.

in iswm, the way these universes are 'connected' is via the wormhole. i'm assuming that all of these happen at the same time, similar to heist, minus the ending itself. yknow, the one where villainbutnot finds the crystal?

lastly, we have adwm to wrap everything up, once and for all.

how do we know that it goes heist, space, date? well, there are two reasons.

firstly is the 'noir' universe in iswm. mark's inner monologue states "maybe i'll as them on that date sometime." after that comes heist, and the true ending where mark asks us on a date "hey, wanna go on that date?" and then, finally, the actual date.

second is in ahwm where my boy claims he doesn't wanna leave, and hadn't met you yet, but knows you by the time iswm happens. we also see that actor is currently doing parole (which could link yancy and actor, though i highly doubt it)

"but river!" i hear you ask "what about the part in iswm where mark takes you on your second date!" i promise, i hear you. your questions come to me like a distant scream in a memory of what once was.

now, for this to happen, the warp crystal must be in one piece, which is why villainbutnot found it again, setting us up with this "so much trouble... all for something so small" line. he knew what he was dealing with, it was an endless loop.

WHICH IS WHY he is so adamant on taking your choices away in date. he's tired of it all.

so how does wmlw and damien fit into this? well, wmlw happens always, it never stops. this is one universe that loops for all of eternity, which explains seeing wilford in the same scene in both wmlw and iswm2.

damien happens almost directly after wkm, this is what caused villainbutnot to mess with every mark.

this is because ALL OF THESE UNIVERSES ARE ALL BEING CONTROLLED BY ACTOR WHILE YOU'RE STUCK IN THE MIRROR!!

REMEMBER WHEN IRL MARK SAID THAT ENGINEER MARK ISN'T ACTOR BUT ACTOR IS ENGINEER MARK?? THIS IS HOW!!

engineer had no knowledge of this; actor is like a puppeteer!! he controls all of these stories!! this is why there's no viewer character in wmlw and damien!! because those are true stories, not ones that actor made up!!

this is why we see actor in adwm in the meta ending! he made all of these for his own entertainment, making you the 'star of the show' so you wouldn't catch onto him!!

but this all just a theory.
