17. “The princess shouldn’t wait, you know?”

It was definitely one of the warmest and at the same time one of the windiest days of August this year. You just finished your morning shift at the restaurant – you were working as a waitress in one of the smaller but very popular sushi bars in the city center. You liked your job, and your co-workers and bosses were really great people; they were helpful, the atmosphere between you was very family and the whole team was so well-coordinated that you often met privately, e.g. as part of one of your birthdays or even during the wedding of another waitress working with you on shift.

However, you were not currently near your workplace, quite the opposite. You took the subway a little bit of the city to get to the club that your partner, Iori, owned. It was lunch time and you wanted to take your loved one for a quick meal and then go home and fulfill your duties, e.g. cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, and then preparing supper for the two of you (you’ve been living together for almost a year and it was a really good decision that strengthened your relationship and love a lot). Iori will certainly stay after hours at his job, which is why a late dinner together was your daily must-have.

The wind started to blow a little stronger. You almost wished you’d brought a thin sweater or a lightweight hoodie today to numb the visible shivers down your both arms.

So you quickly took out your phone with a colorful case on it, searching for your boyfriend’s number with his nickname and a cute red heart emoji.

you; do you want to go to dinner with me? i'd love to eat korean bbq and tofu ramen...

You waited impatiently for a message from your boyfriend, but instead the dark-haired called you. You quickly answered the call, greeting him in a light tone of voice.

“... Honey, you should have texted me earlier that you were coming. I’ll try to be there as soon as possible, because I’m not at work at the moment. I went with the managers to one of the advertising companies... I’ll be there in less than half an hour, okay?” His voice was worried and a bit sad. He didn’t like to let you down, but lets be honest, it wasn’t his fault. You knew that and you didn’t blame him.

But still, you enjoyed teasing him.

“The princess shouldn’t wait, you know?” You said in a serious tone, holding back a laugh. You barely made it.

“But... baby...”

“Just kidding, Iori. I’ll wait for you at the pub and order us some food. Everything will be ready when you arrive. Sounds good? Don’t worry about it, really, it’s my fault that I didn’t tell you about my plans.”

“I should have written that I was going on business.” He admitted. “Zen should be in the building. Find him and ask him to drive you to this restaurant. You won’t be waiting for the bus... It looks like it’s going to rain soon. I don’t want you to get sick, my love.”

A slight smile appeared on your lips.

Korean BBQ is one thing and you really want some fried noodles, mushrooms and sweet corn, but the love your dearest partner gave you was definitely worth the wait and even better than a hot meal accompanied by music, the smell of tons of sweets and cool soda.

🍊 REO MARUYAMA

You were laid on the veranda of Akanyatsura's house, scrolling through your phone quietly. As you ignored the usual bickering from Reo and Satsuki, that's when a video caught your eye.

You lifted yourself up from your lying position and called for your boyfriend who didn't seem to hear you the first time.

"Reo~" you called again.

"Hmm~? What's up, (Y/N)?" he answered finally.

"Can you peel me an orange?" you asked him, clapping your hands together cutely. "Please~?"

"Eeeeh?" was his initial reaction. He didn't understand why you had suddenly asked him to do this. You could do it yourself, no? You've been visiting the family for a while now, so it shouldn't be awkward of you to just waltz into their kitchen to grab a snack.

He chuckled, then said, "(Y/N), are you still scared to go around the house without me?"

"Huh? No, it's not that–"

"You're so cute!" he laughed. "Okay, let's go to the kitchen~!"

He grabbed your hand and led the way. Your face was sewn with confusion and embarrassment because yes, you were scared to go around the house before, but you weren't uncomfortable about it now! Even Reo knew of this!

"Ah, here!" he chirped. "An orange!"

He plopped it into your hands. You stared at it, utterly perplexed. Before you could ask him to peel it for you though, he was already gone.

You returned to the veranda where Reo was now playing on the grass with the cat Hokusai borrowed from Bar 4/7. He looked undeniably cute, and you really did want to join him, but the fruit in your hands made you hang back.

You sat back down, looking at the orange on your lap. You sighed, thinking that you should try asking him again next time when he wasn't so preoccupied. As you dug a nail into the skin, Reo ran up to you.

"(Y-Y/N)!" he cried.

"R-Reo, what's wrong?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing!"

He is SO confusing today, you thought.

"Hokusai said that you looked sad, so I came to see what's wrong. (Y/N), are you alright?"

He sat down beside you as close as he can get, caressing your hand in a way to comfort you.

"I'm fine," you replied with a lighthearted chuckle. "I guess... I just wanted you to peel me an orange..."

"Huh?" he said. "I don't get it... you already have it in your hands!"

"But you'd still do it for me, right?" you asked slowly.

He smiled at you, pinching your cheek.

"Is that what you wanted me to do?" he laughed.

"Well yeah, I said that to you earlier...!"

"You did...? Oh, right! Sorry!" he exclaimed, genuinely feeling apologetic. "I thought you just wanted me to accompany you to the kitchen– Sorry– Here, give me that! Of course I'll peel an orange for my cutie!"

You watched him peel the orange effortlessly – it was a quick process too. He smiled at what he accomplished, taking a piece off the fruit and then hovering it in front of your lips.

"Say ahhh~" he sang.

You giggled before repeating, "Ahhh~"

He placed the fruit in your mouth and you started chewing.

"How does it taste, (Y/N)?" he asked curiously.

"It tastes nice!" you replied. "Thanks, Reo."

"Hehe, I'm glad."

He pulled out another piece and plopped it into his mouth. When the two of you finished eating the orange together, you joined in with Hokusai and Satsuki in the sun as the four of you played with the cat together.

🍊 HOKUSAI MASAKI

Without a doubt, Hokusai is overly affectionate towards his partner. He would treat them like a cat, petting their heads and praising them for the little things they do. He was happy whenever you were happy so when you had asked him to do this little task for you, he was already gone to do it.

"Alright. I'll be right back."

You didn't even need to ask him to peel you an orange anyway. You could just tell him you were craving a snack, and he would just get it for you. So this test of yours was pretty redundant.

Hokusai returned with a bowl of the fruit you had asked for, but it was inadequately peeled.

"I'm sorry," he stated. "I tried, but the skin was hard. It was difficult to peel."

"That's okay!" you chirped, taking the bowl from him. "Thank you, Hokusai."

"Mm. Anything for you, (Y/N)," he smiled, patting your head gently. "Tell me how it tastes."

You nodded, putting a piece in your mouth before chewing it. You smiled at how sweet it was which Hokusai caught on.

"It's sweet," you said. "Here, try some!"

You pulled out a slice as he opened his mouth. He took it in between his teeth and started munching. He nodded in agreement to your statement that it was sweet, smiling ever so softly.

"(Y/N), if you need anything else, just tell me, okay?"

The affection in his voice will always make you melt. "Mhm, thank you," you said. "I appreciate it, Hokusai, truly."

And with that, he pecked you on your forehead. The two of you resumed your afternoon together outside, basking in the sun, with your head on your boyfriend's shoulder.

🍊 SATSUKI ITO

Despite how long the two of you have been together, Satsuki will still be your bashful boyfriend. He sat on the floor of his own room as he let you sit on his bed to play video games. You had told him earlier to come join you, but he awkwardly stuttered that the floor was 'comfier'.

"Satsukiii, come on..."

"N-No, no, it's fine, (Y/N)!" he stammered with a light chuckle. "I-I like it h-here!"

"Then I'll join you–"

"No! J-Just stay on the bed. I don't want you to sit on the floor!"

"Satsuki..."

You sighed, but resumed the game with him. You led most of the conversation, but because Satsuki was so attentive towards you, he still kept you well entertained albeit awkwardly.

"Satuski," you said suddenly.

"Y-Yeah?"

"Can you grab me an orange?"

He was visibly confused, but didn’t question it. If his partner wanted an orange, he was going to get that orange!

“Okay!”

He got up and left the room. You continued with the game, waiting for your boyfriend’s return.

“Here, (Y/N),” he said as he entered the room again.

"Thank you, Satsuki!" you chirped happily. "Can you please peel it for me? I'm pretty busy at the moment!"

“O-Of course!” he exclaimed, fidgeting with the orange. He didn’t really do a good job at it as he peeled the skin bit by bit, but he got the job done.

“I’m done…!” he sighed out victoriously. “(Y/N), here!”

You smiled up at him, a smile so cheeky that even he wasn’t oblivious to it.

"W-What?"

"Feed me!"

"WHAT?!"

"Well, I obviously can't feed myself. My hands are busy!" You motioned him to look at the controller in your hands. "Please, Satsuki~?"

You were teasing him and he knew it. He also knew that you could just pause the game at any given time to eat your orange, but if that's what you wanted then...

Satsuki sat down beside you, pulling a piece out from the fruit. Shyly, he aimed for your mouth, quivering a little. Once it was close enough, you ate it, chewing on it happily.

"Hehe, thanks!" you beamed.

Satsuki was sweating, but most of all, blushing like crazy. Sure, the two of you have been a couple for the longest time, but he still can't get over the fact that he's yours. It still makes him nervous – you still make him nervous.

"More, please!"

Satsuki did as he told until the orange was no more. When you finally paused the game, you turned to him.

"Gotcha!" you exulted, pointing at him. "My plan worked. You're finally sitting next to me!"

Upon realisation, Satsuki's face turned redder than before.

"(Y-Y/N)...! I can't believe you did that...!"

"And I also can't believe you fed me," you giggled. "You're sweet, Satsuki... just like that orange~"

Summary-Aeryn has been avoiding Naoakira after what Miss Akane Minagawa said to her at music room and how it hurted how, so her friend, Letitia and BAE decided to the Inn but upon there...fate decided to make her heart twisted even further.

Letitia invited Aeryn to join her and BAE on outgoing trip, a inn. Aeryn wanted to refuse it but decided to go anyway since she needs to get away from the city...and Naoakira.

You see, about a few weeks ago. Miss Akane Minagawa, professor of music decided to hurt Aeryn's emotions by getting Naoakira and even...seeing her attempt to kiss him.

This made her cry and call Letitia and Anne after hearing what happened...it anger Allen as he wanted to yell at her but Hajun pull him back as it will only cause more trouble.

So the only option is a trip to the inn while the BAE team will train for there finals. But for now, the young auburn hair sat alone in lounge as she needed this, alone in environment.

Allen is probably goofing off while Letitia and Hajun are doing some couple stuff...and Anne is probably busy with something...

She close her blue eyes as the memory from what happen still fresh in her head...

*Flashback at college music room*

Aeryn stood at the entrance of the music room when Miss Akane requested her to be there...but upon standing in the entrance...there..leaning against the window...is Naoakira...and Akanae.

Aeryn forgot that the Akanyatsura and Cozmez are here, she forgot due to her depression lately.

"I've finally caught you..." his tone sounded that his patient has finally at its breaking point as Aeryn lips quiver afraid to speak but asked him.

"I was gonna asked the same thing, but the real question is..."

But she was not prepare on the revelations.

"You do realize that I don't have feelings for that woman...after all...you should have seen her when I slap her after that kiss attempt she did."

"Letitia told me what happen, you should thanked your friend...for now...I have to take care of you..."

*Flashback, this afternoon*

While booking in the inn, Hajun and Letitia and Anne spotted the Cat's Whiskers and upon doing so, Letitia decided to approach the linguistic professor.

"Professor, can we talk? Its important." Letitia pleaded him as Naoakira knows Letitia well as she is good friends with Aeryn.

"If its about Aeryn's odd behavior...then please do..."

They head to a near by indoor lounge were there Letitia filled in the details and explainations.

"When she saw you and Miss Minagawa, she got her heartbroken and thought you left her for someone else and we tried to tell her that you don't do that.

Naoakira bit his inner bottom lip as it confirm his theory, that bitch made his little mouse cry...

And his not going to let this slide...not by a long shot.
