Total Drama Future AU design number 8!

Alejandro is 39 in this AU.

After All Stars, he took some time to improve his mental health and rekindle his relationship with Cody. Little did he know that Cody had been hopelessly pining for him, and he couldn't deny that he liked that funny little guy as well.

After 1 year and 3 months of dating, Cody proposed to him at the Café they had both grown to love.

It was nice to have someone who loved and appreciated him for more than his body.

With the help of Alejandro's mother, they had a lovely wedding and invited both the Gen 1 and 2 casts as guests (Minus Chris and Chef).

For their honeymoon, they went around the world and revisited all the destinations from World Tour. (Minus the island from the finale).

On December 26th, 2013, at 4:49am, they welcomed Axel Burromuerto-Anderson into their lives.

Alejandro runs his own Pub in Toronto, he's very fond of his work.

Alejandro never thought this is where he would end up in life, but he's quite pleased he got this far.

TD Alenoah AU, where Noah came from a messed up family like Alejandro did...

*Noah's parents became divorced when he was somewhere in the first grade.

*Noah's mother took the sisters, while leaving Noah with his ambitious father (because the mother grew to resent anything male).

*Noah's father wanted to take advantage of the fact that Noah was a genius to make Noah a scientist or something and get rich off of him.

*Noah's father pressured Noah to study hard all the time, to go to a great college and earn the love of his father.

*Noah's father never attacked Noah or anything like that, but he was emotionally abusive to the little boy.

*Also, the father would sometimes even make Noah stay up late at night studying until Noah knows everything perfectly (which is why present teen Noah gets tired so easily).

*When Noah was finished with elementary school, his Aunt (from his mother's side) and Uncle came to visit Noah and they were horrified at how his father was treating him.

*Noah's father got thrown in jail and Noah's mother refuses to take care of him, so Noah was taken in by his aunt and uncle; they became Noah's true family.

*The aunt and uncle were very loving and kind and patient with Noah, which Noah is very grateful for.

*Noah's little cousins look up to Noah and idolize him, while in return Noah cares about them deeply.

*His cousins are currently 10 and 12 years old girls; they're chaotic, love sports and love having adventures in nature... Izzy and Eva remind Noah of his dear cousins.

*Noah doesn't even remember what his mother and sisters look like.

*Noah had NEVER told anyone this before, not even Owen, because Noah is ashamed of his past.

*But Noah eventually decides to tell Alejandro (who he was friends with for a super long time at that point), when Alejandro first told Noah about how horrible his family was.

*When Alejandro heard what Noah went though, he gave Noah a hug.

*They understand and empathize with each other in a way that their other friends can't.

Two loving parents, the youngest with at least 3 older siblings, all sisters. Closely enough related to the Chief of the Name and Arms of MacTavish to a) be considered low upper class and b) know his exact place in the line of hereditary succession. Also the kilt he wears on special occasions is always the modern MacTavish tartan, do your research. Grew up in Bonnyrigg outside Edinburgh and is emotionally attached to Sir Salter Scott

Ghost

Simon Lorcán Riley

Same family and circumstances as '09 Ghost (extremely poor, abusive dad, oldest of two boys), but give him loving maternal grandparents and three cousins. He's Irish by ethnicity and heritage, which a few family members kept alive and passed down to him, but British by nationality. His great-great-(great-?)grandparents migrated to Manchester during the Great Hunger, but his aunt moved back to Ballylongford where some of the family originally lived. His cousins and maternal grandmother are all alive but think he's dead and he keeps it that way for their safety. His middle name is after his maternal grandfather who died when he was young and was given to him by his grandma. I do also hc he's trans and have a deadname headcanon for him but I don't share those. The specific neighborhood he grew up in inside Manchester was Beswick

Grew up in Brixton in London, relatively poor with two loving but working parents, but also with an enormous tight-knit community and more neighborhood aunties and uncles and cousins than he knew what to do with. Has one baby sister but she's 20 years younger than him so she's a baby baby and he was already enlisted and moved out when she was born

He loves the twins but wants to hang them upside down by their shoelaces more often than not, his sister is just as mischievous but more mature and subtle about it which made her easier to raise

Born into a poor family, cartel killed his parents when he was three, adopted by a single mom after that. His new family is unrelated to the Cartel but his bisabuela is just as feared and respected as El Sin Nombre and La Araña before her, if not more in some parts of the city. Learned his best chancla skills from her. Only child but grew up in a massive multigenerational multifamily home with at least 20 older cousins - was the baby until he was 7 and now he's the second youngest

Phillip Windsor Graves

Upper class, born to parents who had an heir to the company because it was expected of them but who didn't actually want or like kids. Essentially raised by a rotating cast of nannies

Oh boy!

A have of whole. timeline in my head for this.

So. so the youngest reference we have of Heather is TDDDDI

“I’m guessing either your parents are divorced or you were really fat and pimply once.”

With the video messages from home Island’s final five received showing us Heather’s parents together, it’s the latter that is strongly implied to be true.

Of course, Heather very much does not look like this anymore. While a lot of people do thin up around puberty-

“Of course, only the toothpicky of us is going to fit through that vent. I’m talking model thin. So surely the most athletic of us would want to show off her natural sleekness!”

“For once, I agree with you.”

-I do not consider this to be the case with Heather.

I think of this as a young Heather feeling body dysmorphia and coming to her parents (mainly her mother in my head, as she speaks of her mother far more than her father) for support. However, her mother tells her she feels this because she isn’t thin.

Heather feels miserable, so she listens. She does whatever it takes to look like what others want her to. And eventually, she does.

She still feels miserable. Because it was never about that

The general concept of Heather performing mainline attractiveness for the approval of others extends to World Tour. In Can’t Help Falling in Louvre, Heather is in the line up of girls who wish to be DJ’s model in the tiebreaker. She certainly doesn’t seem to be enjoying herself there, rather seeming very desperate for some form of validation (possibly heightened by the recent loss of her tooth).

Furthermore, we have the idea of femininity being forced on Heather in Brunch of Disgustingness.

“Thanks Heather, but I prefer to keep it natural.”

“Like my mom always says, a lady can always use a little boost in the looks department.”

To me, this scene calls to mind the idea of a younger Heather in Bridgette’s position, not wanting to wear makeup (so to say, not wanting to appear feminine) but having her mother enforce in onto her.

I believe most of Heather’s dynamics with female characters as being drawn from this experience. Lindsay is very outwardly feminine and finds nothing but joy in it, which Heather never did, Gwen rejects a lot of traditional expectations people have of her because they see her as a girl, which Heather was never able to escape. Thus her relationships with them and others are incredibly hostile.

Now, going into World Tour, we have Heather’s antihero arc and her relationship with Alejandro. With both of these things, we see Heather at her happiest.

Now, Heather’s villainy in Island is strongly gendered. Her dynamics with Gwen, Leshawna, Beth and Lindsay, even Trent, are fundamentally written with the idea Heather Is A Girl to the extent you can’t conceptually genderswap Heather and write her dynamics in anyway similar as they are in canon.

In contrast, in my own opinion, WT Heather is not even half as gendered as she was before. You could genderswap Heather and her relationships with Alejandro, Gwen, Courtney, Cody, Sierra, DJ, etc would not change in any particularly notable way. In that sense, Heather as an antihero is strongly opposed to her as a villain.

Regarding her relationship with Alejandro, as it nears its climax we have this moment

Which is an interesting bit of gender non conformity, putting Heather in the traditionally male role while putting Alejandro in the traditionally female role.

Then we have the iconic moment of:

“You mean… I’m the good guy?”

Not only do we a bit more nonconformity with “good guy”, but we also see that Heather’s dynamic with Alejandro puts her as the hero and that she finds joy in that position,

Taking this in addition to how Heather’s villainy is so strongly tied to her status as a women, we can equate the concept of hero vs villain to the concept of male vs female.

As I already said, Heather’s relationship with Alejandro and her antihero arc are where we see Heather at her happiest, which is why I began viewing them, especially the good guy line, as equating to Heather experiencing gender euphoria.

As for when the Gender Thoughts finally hit Heather, I think it would be post TDA but pre-Celebrity Manhunt, when Heather’s hair was growing back.

We never see Heather with short hair, and to me, never had Heather until then. For the first time, Heather saw himself looking “boy-ish” and started to feel some amount of gender euphoria. Though, I don’t think he really understood what he was feeling at the time, and immediately started wearing hair extensions to bury that feeling out of panic.

I think Heather wouldn’t start transitioning until he was into his romantic relationship with Alejandro. Now, I personally hc Alejandro as genderfluid, so being in a relationship with him is what made Heather realize he didn’t have to be a girl if he didn’t want to. I have a similar train of thought regarding his friendship with Harold, who I headcanon as transfem.

I was inspired to make this au by seeing the John loves you au by @zzoupz and @salmonandsoup

Drawings of character’s appearance will come soon, also Tiffany is in her early thirties in this au and Amy is 27 years old in this Au. The Martin twins are alive.

John ward: he takes the place of Amy, instead of working as a priest he works at the clinic like Amy did, he wears a Turtleneck Sweater with angel sleeves and black bell bottoms with boots. His face is gone due to the ritual. He is Tiffany’s favorite.

Father Garcia: takes the place of Father Allred, he wears a blue stole with a purple cross on each side of it at the bottom over his priest uniform, he aids Amy in John’s Exorcism, still smokes cigars, poor Father Garcia fly high 😔🕊️

Amy Martin: Is a nun who helps with John’s exorcism, she is trying to save her siblings from being sacrificed by Tiffany, is friends with Michael, poor baby needs therapy. Like she needs a hug really bad, give her one. She gets a fuck you from Tiffany. She also wears gold cross earrings to match her crucifix. Her finger nails are painted black but in a certain light it looks blue.

Father Allred: takes the place of Father Garcia, smokes tobacco pipes, he helps Amy the rest of the way and aids her from the wrath of Tiffany, He tries to exorcise Lisa and John’s brother (you’ll learn more when you scroll to his description) but fails. he wears a purple crucifix necklace, he also has a stubble. Haha rifle go pew pew.

Michael Davies: he doesn’t swap roles with anybody. Instead of being a demon he’s an angel, he is friends with Amy and follows her to aid her at every beck and call when she needs his help, he also gives her courage and positive affirmations. basically a more friendlier version of the mirror demon. Though the mirror demon still lurks around but Michael basically says fuck you to him and shoos him off.

Lisa Pearson: is one of the characters that takes the role of Michael (haha two crack headed goblin demons 😂, Michael is honestly one of my favorite characters in Faith) basically the same demon as Michael but yellow and has hair, she also has antlers. she wears her hair up in a ponytail which has a few twigs and leaves in it, She skedaddles around with John’s brother Gabriel around the area, fly high Lisa 😔🕊️( a gun with one bullet and truck-kun). Crazy fun fact her, Gabriel, and Gary are basically nude due to their demon transformations.

Gabriel Ward: is my oc I put in to go with the story line. He is the other character to take the role of Michael. The same demon as Michael but indigo and has short fluffy hair. He’s the one who jumps Amy in the garage before she scares him of with a crucifix. He was the twin brother of John Ward, their parents are divorced and his father took him while their mother takes John, he is angry at his father for taking away his brother because his brother was his best friend but misses his dad still because he was taken by Father Alfred to do a exorcism on him.

Miriam Bell: she takes the place of Lisa, she’s a retired nun who loves to bake cookies, wears a black turtleneck sweater and a long red skirt with a gold cross necklace. She used to have a close bond with her son but that changed when he grew up and met Tiffany, she misses the sweet guy her son used to be.

Gary Miller: Takes the place of Tiffany, he loves her and he is envious of John, like he hates him. Calls John a manwhore often, he willingly did the ritual and became THE SON OF THE UNSPEAKABLE.

The twins: basically the same but I gave them a different appearance, Nate has short hair while Jason’s hair is a bit longer

Cop: basically the same

Alejandro Kruger: my oc I used for the story line. is the ex husband of Amy, basically taking the role of Molly. He is still her friend but lives far away. He has cancer. He still loves her and would try their relationship again.

Tiffany Robinson: cult leader, basically takes the role of Gary. Has a stitched up scars, one each side of her mouth and a scar on her neck, Had an upside down cross carved on her head as well as small scars on her left eye (her left not yours), SWARM OF SCORPIONS. She doesn’t love Amy. Wears thick high heel boots underneath her cloak. Always carries her ritual knife besides her trident and whip of spikes. In her final form her face splits like the demigorgon from stranger things and grows to 7’0 ft tall.

Duncan and Courtney get between action and world tour to spite their parents probably. You can technically get married at 16 in Canada and legal loopholes feels up both of their Ally's. They both do it to spite people and basically ruined any potential relationship they could have. You can guess what happens after world tour.

Devin and Carrie are such classic married young divorced young couples I can't even describe it. Does this ship have fans an I gonna make someone mad with this because I don't think anyone cares

Stephanie and Ryan get divorced. It takes them too long. Significantly too long. Like they have kids and get them tied up into the problem.

I mostly stuck to canon ships but eh what the hell

Cody and Sierra get divorced but there are two possibilities. Either Cody divorces Sierra because she keeps acting the way she did before and is unable to change. Or she does change but doing so is forced to realize just how flawed of a person Cody is.

Total Drama family headcanons (and my urban fantasy editions)- Killer Bass and World Tour additions

Bridgette- only child; her mom had her as a teen and she's hasn't met her father.

Courtney- oldest of 4 sisters. Her mother, Maria, was born in Peru but was adopted by an interracial Canadian couple at young age.

DJ- canon is giving me mixed signals regarding DJ's family situation. One episode has him mentioning brothers, but they never show up, not even in the Celebrity Manhunt special. As for his parental situation, I originally headcanoned DJ's dad as having died when he was around 4, but lately I've been getting into the headcanon that he has 2 moms. In my AU, he'd definitely be an only child, but I'm still not sure what the parental situation would be except that his dad's no longer in the picture (if he was even in the picture at all).

Duncan- youngest of 4 siblings with the eldest being the only girl.

Eva- only child

Ezekial- only child; in my urban fantasy AU, he is the cousin of Jude.

Geoff- his online bio says he's the oldest of 5 brothers, but in the show, he mentions having an older brother. So I say Geoff is the 2nd oldest. In my urban fantasy AU, the older brother is Wayne from the 2023 reboot (which almost certainly isn't the case in canon, though he could still theoretically be one of Geoff's younger brothers), and one of his younger brothers is Rock (which again I don't think is the case in canon, given their lack of interactions in the Ridonculous Race).

Harold- his bio mentions him having an older brother and a younger sister. The younger sister in question may or may not be Scarlett. His parents are divorced and have joint custody.

Katie- Jen the fashion blogger is her older sister. In my urban fantasy AU, she is also the cousin (and possibly adoptive sister) of Mike and Dawn.

Sadie- she canonically has a sister named Cindy.

Tyler- only child; his mom died in a car crash when Tyler was 7.

Alejandro- He is canonically the youngest of 3 brothers. I also headcanon that his mother, Esmeralda, was born in Peru and (at least in my urban fantasy AU) grew up in an orphanage and she worked as a lounge singer before meeting her husband.

Sierra- I hc her canon self as being an only child. In my urban fantasy AU, she has 6 older paternal half-siblings, one of them being Ashley (the fourth clone from that episode of 6teen).

Inspired by the Haunting of Helena but image the husband is Alejandro or Rudy with the wife is kind of a magnet for ghost. Yeah, I make this while in the middle of shower and I just have to

So wifey kinda haunted and didn't tell Alejandro or Rudy about it since after some talks she assumes he don't like those taboo things, she doesn't want to be despised and have their daughter taken away like she lose her parents that abandon her. However their daughter inherits her ability to see so she have to teach her about it. Problems arise when a particular ghost try to take over daughter and because of husband absence, they decided to divorce with wifey taking daughter and move to another country.

However daughter kinda attract another, more dangerous evil spirit. Rudy or Alejandro who still loves them suspect that wifey is threatened or something so they went to talk again, to learn, only to discover wifey house windows and doors lined with salt. Alerudy (sorry I got lazy) try to talk with her about it, but accidentally broke one of the salt line in process. Daughter is screaming and they immediately goes to check her, fearing the worst but different expectations. Alerudy is surprised to see the evil spirit, grab a chair to smack it but it did nothing. Before it can hurt him, wifey throw holy salt on it to banish it away.

Alerudy is very disturbed as he learn about it after wifey redo the salt line. They talk and reconcile as Alerudy and wifey still very much love each other and Alerudy willing to do anything for them, even learning how to deal with evil spirits and whatever entails. Alerudy goes detective mode in order to learn about this evil origin and wifey helps by giving him numerous protection items and ways.

Turns out the spirit is using daughter which makes Alerudy pissed as fuck as he can see how stressed their beautiful queen is because of them.

They managed to send the spirit to hell where it belongs by burning whatever items it attached to with fire, salt, and holy oil. Alerudy and wifey re-married and go back to Las Almas. Alerudy goes to kill whatever evil spirit haunting his princessa first and the cause of his divorce in the first place before they settles back tho, man is protective and pissed, no man and now spirits can disturb his family as long as he's alive.

Rough drabble but damn, don't I love a man who's willing to listen to his wifey's "nonsense" because it clearly upsets her and helps her in whatever way he can ? And Alerudy ? I just thought they are perfect for this since there's still taboo stuff used over there so they have ideas on what's happening, but nothing more.

Valeria probably has some shit with her parents, but I really liked the idea of her mother joining special forces to find her. (Only to be betrayed) So.... this is Val's mother 🥰

Ok so, I kinda have a (back)story set for one of my cod fan-characters for once.. Before I get into the whole lore stuff I'll just ramble on rq; So I saw this one fanart on Pinterest where it was just Valeria in military gear (guessing during her time in Special Forces), and I was like "Like mother, like daughter!!" so that's where Chelo's bottom portrait came from. Now for the semi-lore! (Using some headcanons I saw for Val as inspo, tried finding them but no luck) ______

Basic info/lore:

Chelo "Mariposa" Garza lieutenant within the YHF 5'4, 140 lb, early 50's Spanish Personality: An amiable yet mousy person. Often her motherly instincts kick in, whether it would be a small mishap of a spill, or something big as work drama; she's there and prepared. Past restrictive experience makes her childish and gullible to a more refined eye, though she has a good hand in her work ethic.

Backstory:

Summarizing her childhood: Chelo was held under quite some expectations in her household, forced to be "normal" in their eyes. She'd always found culture beyond Mexico interesting, yet she could never really touch up on it. Her parents set her up with another guy at the young age of 18. It was a loveless marriage, but Chelo at least wanted the man to be alright. They had a kid (or maybe a few?), and the pair rose Valeria under her grandparent's expectations. This includes going to church. Her family was really heavy on religion, maybe to the point where it might have driven Chelo insane. She certainly didn't lash out at anyone, but she was extremely preachy. Murmuring sermons from the bible to correcting Valeria's behavior if she chose to do something that would "defy god." This made her daughter (/kids?) bitter about it, resulting in luring her out with treats, or just letting her hide completely. Later on when Valeria was in high school (this is me only guessing lol), she had some kind of partner (maybe Alejandro??) that wanted to make her join the Special Forces. A brainwashed Chelo certainly didn't approve of this, punishing her daughter by restricting her further. This had only caused the girl to slip out of her grasp, joining the special forces anyways. This left both parents pretty solum about their daughter, and Chelo had let her be.. Years later, she found out about the disappearance of Valeria. Out of sheer motherly will, she joined the Special Forces to find her. (Her family was apprehensive, and ended up disowning her.) Mission after mission; nothing came to fruition. It was just endless despair. But just because she didn't find her daughter, didn't mean she discovered new friends in the meanwhile. She did get herself acquainted with Alejandro.. He was alright, but Rudy was better. Later on in her training, she received the callsign "Mariposa" for her extreme growth in her training over the years. The news of her daughter being El Sin Nombre stunned her. She found out during an off-duty break and was severely heartbroken. Her previous hobbies of piano and dance were left in the dust. This caused some extreme arguments with her spouse, soon ending in a divorce. Now free from her family's expectations, she gets to see the world as it really is. Her true self is quite the clutz, and bashful. Motherly when the situation needs it. She invests herself in new waters, like fashion and exploring beyond the walls of her past home. But the trauma her family instilled in her had left her unable to remain on the field. Instead of being in battle, she dived into intel work. The first few cases proved herself worthy, getting a swing of things. A year or two later, she was scouted by Laswell for an assignment to take down the Las Alamas Cartel. Being affiliated with those within Special Forces, she used firsthand accounts and info accumulated by them to form together exceptional notes. Chelo heard the rumors of the Station Chief and was careful when treading waters. Laswell was surprisingly not so bad. They now work together in order to delve into the mishaps of the Cartel, eventually for the ultimate takedown.

valerian 'val' spex (leo howard) is the grandson of the late nurse spex, who raised him after his parents - his dad: a super and his mom: a regular human who was a news reporter - both died on the job. in her opinion, there is no one better than him in all of maxville. after nurse spex passes away quite suddenly, mr and mrs timmerman offer to foster him. he accepts. val can shoot laser beams out of his eyes and he often uses it on khione and other pretty girls to get their attention. as a result, val often gets turned into an ice statue and is intimately familiar with the super powers of the other girls at school.

morpheus 'morph' hellman (ross lynch) is the son of a regular human and jeannie elast who are now divorced. whereas his mom's mutability power primarily has to do with physical elasticity, morph's mutabilty power makes it so he can shapeshift into other people. currently, he uses his powers for kicks and little jokes here and there. some of them are actually funny. others? not so much. he has this in common with his half brother, lash.

(he doesn't pull pranks on khione anymore after she froze him, learning the hard way that elasticity plus ice abilities equals getting fucked up. and not in the fun way.)

khione and morpheus befriended each other on the first day of school (freshman year for him and sophomore year for her) because of their first names and subsequent nicknames - freeze girl and carbon copy kid respectively.

morph can actually carry a tune and he's decided that if this superhero thing doesn't work out, he'll just start a band or become a super(hero) influencer instead.

he abhors the fact that his mom seems to have an actual crush on coach boomer.

tierra fernandez (paulina chávez) is also a legacy. whereas khione's family has had multiple hydrokinetics and cryokinetics in their family tree, many of the fernandez' developed geokinetic abilities. tierra is the introvert to morph's extrovert. despite this, they work rather well together and often partner up. tierra's parents are often traveling around the world and it was during one of their trips that she was born. it wasn't until the fernandez family moved to maxville that tierra had something stable. a place to plant her roots and grow.

jolene hamilton (abigail cowen) comes from a household with no super heroes. she was a late bloomer when it came to her abilities. her parents did not like it so they kicked her out. much like val spex, jolene is also being fostered by mr and mrs timmerman. in school, jolene can often be seen with her best friend, alejandro ramirez.

alejandro ramirez (froy gutierrez) comes from a household with no super heroes as well. all in all, his family took it well and so did his boyfriend, who doesn't have powers either.

karol topolski (grace van dien) is the daughter of leslie topolski, a sky high alumni and her wife francesca. karol can shapeshift too. but the catch is: she can only shapeshift into inanimate objects.

sterling ti (brandon soo hoo) is the son of patty ti and her husband. cousin to magenta lewis, sterling is also named after a color albeit in a subtler way. sterling can replicate and sprout multiple body parts from the surface of any object or living thing - including his own body - and manipulate these body parts remotely. his favorite trick is to give himself six arms.

zayden 'zay' bruber (amir mitchell-townes) is the son of alex bruber and his husband. zay has the ability to turn his saliva and other bodily fluids into acid. he can also solidify his saliva. when he's not training to become a hero, zay writes original songs. who do you think gave morph hellman the idea to start a band in the first place?

For community headcannons I gotta go with the gay vampires and the witches adopting Scotty And for the bros I have two headcannons for each!

Alejandro- He also loathes Luke almost as much as Wanderlust because he was with Wander before he lost it on Ale but also because he feels a demon (even half demon) doesn't deserve the power/rank Luke due to being Derkes' son. He also doesn't like Triton for a similar reason

Fernando is a bit of a kiss up to higher class coaches since he cares ALOT about his family's reputation especially after Alejandro's stunt. He also took over the family's business of planning concerts and even planned the second showdown! (Takes place a year after the game's cannon showdown and was the idea of the lovely _beadoeseverything on instagram!)

Roberto works at a motorcycle shop and is the most liked from the family since he gives zero fs about his family even being the only one that has a good relationship with their aunt Louise while the others shun her for being a criminal. His brothers try to force him to be their mini me with Fernando wanting him to help out with the business and Ale wanting him to help get revenge. Though all this does is make Roberto draw away from the family more.

Finally for all of them, their parents are divorced with their mom being from Sun Horizon and the family even has a sun house there. They live with their dad since their parents divorced when Roberto was a lil baby. Also their family's flow can manipulate lights (like maps where the lights go out and just the outfits are lit up such as Pound the Alarm) and they can change their clothes with a simple move

Born and raised within Covington city limits, Cami lost her mom during childbirth and, in his grief, her father pulled away from most responsibilities when it came to raising a child. It was her grandparents - her mother's parents - who played the biggest role in her life.
