The thing about Lily Orchard's hatred of Hunter is that she exposes how she is a shitty critic and has no actual understanding of storytelling. Lily goes on and on about replacing Hunter with Lilith or the coven heads. Bruh how do you not comprehend the purpose of Hunters inclusion? Lilith was meant to show the Clawthorne sisters going in two different directions, the lengths Lilith was going to undo her mistake and Belos using her situation to manipulate and lie to her. The coven heads are just the heads of the covens and some of them are following Belos for big promises of paradise and others have seen through his lies and tried to rebel. Belos is a good villain but is pretty flat/boring as the standard "tyrant that's a total douche and must be stopped" like yeah you love to hate how much of a douche he is but its still kind of just not super engaging. Hunter exists for several reasons 1. Showing how Belos abuses the kid he claims as his nephew really hammering in how horrible he is 2. We know Belos is HORRIBLE but he really lacks any depth that makes him interesting which kind of just makes him a boring tyrant. Hunter's inclusion is important in order to show the deeper motivations behind Belos's plans without excusing Belos in any way. Rather than just making him an evil tyrant there is a story about a rift between him and his "brother" that drove him to who he became and he doesn't want to let go of his brother but also wants to mold him into whatever Belos wants him to be and hates when they all "choose to betray him". There's a story about Hunter trying to decide who he is/wants to be despite what he is and his creation. Lily seems to basically just label Hunter as some kind of Zuko knockoff when only half his story is the whole "Kid close to the tyrant switches sides" and the other half is actually a story of identity and Hunter figuring out what he is, who he is, who he wants to be, who he chooses to be. Lilith can't do that she wasn't a creation of Belos. The coven heads can't do that, their whole role is that they are the head witches that have fallen for Belos's lies, some of them realized this and rebelled and some of them believed him showing how the head witches had fallen for his big promises of paradise despite Belos plans to kill them all. These characters don't have the same roles that Lily likes to claim they do.

I mean, she's been exposing she's a shitty critic for a long time, so like, this is just adding to why she is a shitty critic and why she has zero understanding of how writing in shows/movies work.

Honestly, she fails to understand Lilith's character no matter what. Like, she acts like S2 gave her a rewrite but like....no??? That was literally her character developing and wanting to redeem herself for what she did to Eda. Like, she was willing to deal with Belos while Luz rescued Eda from the ceremony. She literally is STILL showing side effects of what the coven made her into when she keeps trying to please people to extreme degrees. Hell, it was argued Eda and Lilith almost serve as foils of what could have happened to Phillip and Caleb. Like, the show handles her writing really well and to suggest we replace Hunter with her makes zero sense. How the hell would Hunting Palisman work with Lilith??? How would Hollow Mind work with Lilith??? Like, does Lily not consider this at all a problem with her ideas??? Like, the fact that she acts like its simple that Hunter can be just replaced with either Lilith or even one of the coven heads- assuming she doesn't mean Raine, Darius, Eberwolf, Terra and Adrian- makes it obvious she isn't paying attention at all and just wants to act like she can do the show better with her half-baked ideas just so she can get rid of Hunter on the basis off he's boring according to her.

Honestly, I'd disagree with the Belos thing a little. He isn't completely boring. He does have the whole commentary of how people acted back in his time with witches and his actions show that, right down to assuming he'd be a witch hunter general upon returning to the human realm. And the way he acts with Luz is pretty much assuming he's saving his fellow human from the witches but when he sees she won't accept his deal, he tries to kill her because he thinks the witches have corrupted her, just like they corrupted his brother. Like, he does have some interesting elements to him and like you said, Hunter helps that a little as we see the lengths Belos' was willing to go just to try and control his brother in some sense, because Belos' cant dare to think its him in the wrong, not Caleb or the various Grimwalkers or Hunter. Every single action he justifies as him being the hero in some sense, when in reality, he's the villain.

But that is true with Hunter having to decide who he is. Like, we've seen ever since Hollow Mind, he's still unsure on who he is and has been doing research on Grimwalker's even. Like, he has a plot going for him, but again....Lily can't stand the idea that he's redeemed himself even, so like, are we surprised she can't take the idea he has a plot? I mean, you know that, I know that about how Lilith and the coven heads cant fill the same plot Hunter does....but as we all know, she's pretty much in favor of skipping Hunter episodes, so uh, no surprise she just assumes she's right in what she says about replacing Hunter in episodes. Wait since Hunter's in King's Tide, does that mean she'd recommend skipping King's Tide now too?

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I believe it didn't hit me before Spider-Man: Homecoming. Civil War was about Steve & Bucky for me, but when I saw that growing up Peter with Tony, their dynamic, chemistry. Tom & Robert are really just like that.

2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2?

Lmao. I've read like 50% of the tag on AO3, I wrote my own & started a few wips on them. They are amazing. Plus, with that shitty canon? We didn't get enough of them & they deserved better, so it's only logical to save yourself with fanfiction.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr screen saver?

I was living with The Outsider icon on my twitter & tumblr. That one is still my Google profile picture I believe. Don't remember about having an icon with the two of them. Also had The Outsider as my lockscreen on my smartphone for a while.

4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

Funny how it fits canon, lmao. Rhys literally tried to erase Jack's AI in TFTBL, so I guess another day on Pandora, nothing new. They torture each other, they kiss each other, they kill other people in the process. It'll be fiiine.

5. Why is 1 so important?

I love them since the first time I met them, which was much more than 10 years ago, I don't even remember when. At some point they were the reason I was waking up & forcing myself to eat just to read more fanfiction & feel something. Even if I was drowning in pain (I was extremely depressed), it was still something. I read every fic I could find at that time. The depression that Harry went through, all these feelings, his love for Sirius. I was living through it, I could relate.

I'm currently drowning in these two again, though in a much healthier & happier state. I see their flaws & I know as much as I can. I see them differently as an adult. They saved me, they keep being my number one, I still consider making a tattoo of Padfoot/Sirius or of both Harry & Sirius together. I have many headcanons, ideas, I write fics about them. They are everything, you see? They were my choice when there was nothing, no one. They are HOME.

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Both. There goes the dynamic of Jack & Rhys: torture, fighting, flirting, a lot of trauma. I'd definitely say that they are wild and comical sometimes, but they are definitely serious. With the Asylum, the mental health issues. There is so much more to it, the complexity of their relationship. The struggle of loving who you probably shouldn't (but hey, when does it work like that?) Thinking about Tettlate's Batman, about Batman: Europa & how Joker was: "You must be crazy, putting me in charge of the plan, letting me decide. Okay, well..."

Nah, they are entertaining, but this is a serious ship.

7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

Are you kidding me? They are all the definition of CHEMISTRY. I'd say 5, but then go 2, 6, 7, 8. Come on. I'm not choosing. Most of they are WILD.

9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom?

The fandom itself? Idk. I found one of my favourite artists through this fandom. If it's about the characters themselves, I played the first game with the DLC from start to beginning, looking around every corner. Spent more than 60 hours in there. Watched a second game (my laptop can't run the game) and the DLC (obviously), since Francis is in the DLC & not in the main game. I have a tag for them on tumblr, I read fanfiction, I tried to write my own. I still follow Elias & want a third game. Elias liked my tweets about Adam and Jensen being an actual couple a few times. I'd say I interacted with all of this a lot? Still do, actually.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

5. Best friends since childhood, fought & died for each other, still found their way back to each other. "It would break your Captain's heart, to see what they did to you." That only the MENTION of Steve can pull Bucky out of this brain washing(ed?) state, distract him in the middle of a fight. When Steve died in the comics because of Sharon & Tony sent Natasha to take Steve's shield from Bucky because even Tony knew how much Steve means to Bucky. And Bucky was like: "Oh, I see what he did. Not happening!" Fought Natasha (that is his ex in the comics) & kept going for Steve's sake.

Well, you see the point, I can go on and on.

11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?

They're not actually canon so none? They had a few fights: In Civil war (the comics), in Homecoming (the movie). That only means that they’ve got history & love each other.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

As fierce Grace is, they wouldn't stand a chance against Damon & Elena. Those two had to deal with worst thing than brainless stupid zombies. On the other hand, if there were no alive humans to drink their blood... It's either an animal diet that Damon hates so much or I don't know? Still, they're faster & more powerful. Their bodies have advantage of healing the wounds as well.

13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

From some people, yeah. Don't tell Athena, don't tell Vaughn, don't tell Fiona. Though Rhys wasn't very subtle about it & Jack just doesn't give a fuck. You will probably end up dead if you disagree or bore him, or if you're useless.

"I can take you to the top, but you gotta know where the top is" & Rhys doesn't tell anybody until Jack makes him the President for like whole 20 minutes lol.

Fiona & Sasha: "This can't be happening." Sure it can, darling.

14. Is 4 still together?

I have a headcanon about The Outsider finding Emily & Corvo after Billie frees him from the Void. He doesn't have anybody & they are his only friends aside from a potential friendship with Billie. And if we don't consider TOTO dlc, they definitely are! The Outsider visits them both when they sleep & takes them to the void sometimes. How could he not?

15. Is 10 canon?

Not really but also sort of? Let's say that they really care about each other in canon, despite Adam pushing Francis away because of his trauma & fear that Megan caused him. :/

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Can you imagine wizards fighting extremely powerful vampires? Superheroes with venom in their bodies that make them super strong with people that made a deal with the Devil himself (hi Le Bail)? 5000 y.o. God and his lover that share his powers and an augmented human protecting his tired IT guy? Combine mental health issues to that, Jack and Rhys with Batman and Joker. Corvo & The Outsider would probably slay them all as Corvo and Emily did in both games with entire islands, though it will still be a slaughter anyway.

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?

All the fucking time, lmaooo. I’m not even talking about it.

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

I feel like I already did with Steve & Bucky after many Marvel movies (we're not even mentioning Endg*me, I fucking died & was dead for full 4-5 months).

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?

I used to do that a few years back, but not anymore. There is not much content since the trilogy is finished.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?

1 already went through it & fandom lives, so I'd say maybe 7? Rhys will find a way to bring Jack back & they are both so wild. It’s what happened in canon anyway. Jack kidnapped Lilith & forced her to do Angel's job, so I'd like to see that witch try at first. Jack is an immortal bastard. <3

Now that I think about it, Corvo would also deal with her in seconds as she waits to curse them.

As a conclusion: no one breaks up forever, we're killing the witch.

Sacrifice (Kingdom of Unrest)

Session 39 -Once in the Castle of Yamato -Yamato is unwilling to help fight the Lich -Yamato says he will assist them if they can defeat Fushino -Yamato has a son who is a LOT cooler than his stoic dad -Yorou is his second cousin, WHAT??? -Yorou left after being cursed by a beast, he wanted to kick stuff hard -Yamato claims he has the god’s blessings but Aima does not believe this -During the debate with Yamato, Natlia is straight up like, “Fuck you, you SUCK!” And Yamato is like, “Meet me by the flagpole.” -They duke it out a bit, Yamato is impressed he even got scuffed by Natlia and decides he can consider joining their cause -Hotto has already sent a message of peace and wants to meet with Yamato -Hotto is tactical and rational, doesn’t trust monsters but won’t actively kill them -She only wants Yamato to split ownership of the Jade Kingdom and is willing to end the war -Hotto knows she cannot kill Yamato, so there is no concern in her mind -Hotto says they cannot be a unified nation with Yamato as their ruler -Yorou says, “Me think, Hotto come too.” -The party are welcomed to meet at the Jade Kingdom with the Yamato family -There, Yamato, Yamato II, and Yorou pray and await Hotto’s arrival -When she arrives she lays down the TRUTH bombs (even though shes still kind of shitty) -The original reason the Kingdom split was the demon son, ignoring the people’s wants, and attempting to repurpose the Jade Kingdom in their own image. Yamato fought on behalf of his mother in an attempt to hold onto their rule. Eventually the battle settled and the land decided to split into two separate Kingdoms. Yamato and the old ruler agreed to preserve the Kingdom in it’s original state. But the two Kingdoms still found themselves at odds for many years after. Now the main concern is over the legitimacy of Yamato’s rule and the recent mysterious raids of the Jade Kingdom (off landers stealing valuables). Concern remains over who is in charge of the Kingdom, as both Kingdoms own it. But Yamato claims it is still for the people of Kyosaka -When all four pray at the altar, they are visited by their dieties -Two wolves, one is silver (Moon) and the other is gold (Sun) -Sun believes the Kingdom should be for all, Moon suggests they destroy the Kingdom -Moon believes a Kingdom divided is a mistake, no peace can be achieved -Sun believes there is still hope believing the change is good as it can unify all -Yorou, Yamato II, and Hotto are blessed by the Sun as this new change -Moon warns them of an ominous future, “A great calamity is on the horizon. I can smell it.” -The Four Rulers (?) return to the Kingdom and begin planning for the future. Yamato remains unmoved -”I will not stand down. There remains tragedy in our future. Tsukuyomi’s warning is not to be taken lightly. I must keep my promises. After that... “ Yamato shakes his head and walks away -A few nights later, Merlin appears with Grobbler -Half of the city is killed in an instant as Grobbler uses her life drain -El Hueso talks to Yamato, saying he’s been dying to meet him -Merlin destroys the castle and everyone falls into different locations, there they must fight the Undead -The party is split and they are forced to figure out where to go and fend off the undead -Yamato, Natlia, El Hueso, Minuet, and Merlin end up in the same area -Minuet warns Natlia that she must go, giving her one chance -Natlia ignites -They have a scuffle and eventually, Yamato is stabbed by the Diamond Sword -However, with a smile he proves he had a fallback for preventing this and magically comes out okay with the sword lying at Natlia’s feet -She picks it up and must choose who to stab -Natlia hesitates -She chooses Merlin -Merlin looks at her and winks, “Alethia” before teleporting her in front of Yamato -Yamato is stabbed and turned to Diamond -”Perfect, that’s exactly what I wanted.” Ate’s voice rings in Natlias head -Merlin teleports Natlia away and Natlia pretends it never happened -The party gather together and teleport the FUCK out of Kyosaka -Yamato II, Yorou, and Aima decide to return to see what they can do to help the remaining people of the Kingdom -Narius requests that the party track down knowledge about the Lich’s phylacteries -They are sent on a mission to find an Abolyth (I can’t believe this is the same session???) -There the party encounter tricks and traps but most importantly they rescue a Manticore who becomes their buddy (Manny? What did we name them shit) -They also happened to kill a Beholder due to some MAD trickery and tomfoolery -In the end they killed the “Dwegon Queen” and got the fuck out -They also fight some Stone Guardians like in the 4th (?) session while searching for Understone -Finally the party meet with the Abolyth and in exchange for information about the past, they update the Monster about the present -Abolyth reveals the confirmed and also likely locations for the Phylacteries 1.) Lich’s Head 2.) Diamond Sword 3.) Dracolich 4.) Large Oak beside his hometown 5.) Vampire’s Chest (Proven to be wrong) 6.) The Ocean -Also learning more about the Lich himself -Used to work for royalty -Killed the rulers for their castle and wealth -Half Monster/Half Human... considered a freak by most -Sacrificed himself to return as a more powerful being.. a Lich -Cleric was a friend, a goatborn who saw their fellow Great Magician as a desperate and lonely being -Obsessed with Dragons -Abolyth also says that cannot defeat the Lich without being stronger, in exchange for their Books :’( -Party hand over their Books of the Gods and gain their Ultimate Abilities -Fein (Ultimate Parry) -Hachi (Roguish Precision) -Lilith (Nature’s Wrathful Smite) -Natlia (Ultimate Time Stop) -Nim (Warlock’s Rage) -Leonne (Soul Charge) -After all of this, they headed back to Narius’s via teleport because we always teleport lmao -Or we go directly to El Hueso’s hometown either way that's where I'm starting the next recap
