I sketched a posing with Emmet looking like he was skating, it gave me an idea of other poses where at the end, well, snowballed effect into a comic, so er, that's it.

@madredhattie and I discussed a Ratchet and Clank AU a few days ago, and the suggestion that the twins would be Nethers really clicked for me. While most of what I have to say is summed up above, there are some extra notes below, too.
No one has any idea which of the twins is actually older. The current state of things is a guess, and the odds are 50/50.
Due to their skin coloration and the spots on their faces, they're often mistaken for hybrid or mutant Markazians.
Their coat tails are holograms projected from their vests-- that way nothing gets snagged in a firefight.
Ingo only wields one weapon at a time; Emmet almost always dual wields. Often, this means that he's providing cover while Ingo takes a decisive shot.
For the Deadlocked plot in my head, they were both targeted for DreadZone, but Ingo was able to assure Emmet's safety and, therefore, was the only one captured.
During this fight, they accidentally caused a temporary rip into the Netherverse, allowing something to slip through, unnoticed.
This tear is actually to blame for Ingo's resultant amnesia, but the assumption is that he hit his head during transport.
Even somewhere where dual wielding is the norm, he will not do it; he's also unable to work with support warbots, because the balance feels off.
This would put him at a disadvantage, but the juvenile Nether following him around has had an additional effect on him: awakening the racial ability to teleport, which helps to even the odds. He just assumes he's always been able to do that.
Nobody knows the Nether is there for a long time. Eventually, it gets put into an expended ammo box to help it survive in their dimension.
Ingo's primary support team consists of Irida, a Cazar working tech/communications, and Sneasler, a robot who works on any damaged equipment and handles upgrades. (Neither of their designs is final; it was just midnight and I wanted to get my thoughts down.)
A lot of people know who Ingo is, and have tried to help him remember, but it just won't stick. It's assumed this is due to a (nonexistent) head injury, but it's the Nether interfering again.
While he's a very popular Gladiator-- the most popular, by ratings-- he's rarely seen on Vox News. His static expressions and upbeat demeanor make it hard to get under his skin, so the (lack of) outrage isn't worth the air time.
The twins reunite during the game's climax, but wouldn't be able to escape the station if not for the juvenile Nether, which temporary pulls them into the Netherverse to traverse an impassable path in their dimension.
After the game, they help to get everyone who'd been displaced home. This is what introduces them to working in transportation.
Not retired, but on indefinite sabbatical until they've recovered. They work with grav trains.

A Father's Resolve - Prologue
IM SO NORMAL GUYS IM SO NORMAL IM SO NORMAL IM SO NORMAL I SWEAR THIS IS THE THIRD IDEA IVE HAD IN TWO DAYS PLEASE HELP ME
Word Count: ~800
Emmet would later swear that it started out normal.
He woke up in his bed, his team asleep in the room as well, at exactly 4 am. He would take a shower and get dressed, his white shirt and pants ironed and freshly pressed. He made a light breakfast, consisting of a bagel with peanut butter and some coffee. He'd fed his team their breakfasts and grabbed his coat and hat and had done all the normal morning things. His day bag hadn't felt any different on his shoulder, the walk hadn't been any longer or shorter. The station doors opened the same, that one light still flickered slightly, his office was exactly the same as he'd left it. He'd sat at the lone desk in the room to fill out some paperwork before boarding the same line for the day.
The battles had gone similar (but never the same) as normal, he'd congratulated and praised and encouraged as normal, he'd reached his destination as normal. He'd eaten his lunch and texted Elesa and checked in with the depot agents as normal.
The first sign of something not normal was during his break in the control room. He could still remember idly chatting with one of the older agents when he'd heard that sound. The same one he'd heard only once, exactly a decade prior.
It sounded like someone was trying to cut sheet metal with a pair of fabric scissors. A horrible, loud, ripping noise, reverberating in his ears and chest and lungs. A distinct sound.
He'd started to run.
He could barely hear the voices calling for him over that sound. It was getting louder, droning, crackling, ripping, searing, it was unnatural, it was something he was not supposed to hear.
And then were the screams. He burst out the maintenance door into the main area of the Subway. People were screaming, running, trying to get away from something, that sound. Emmet ran straight towards it, a pokeball raised in his hand. This was not normal.
He merely caught a glimpse of a hole in the air, a hole leading to somewhere and yet nowhere, a purple and black and yellow and blue and red and green swirling things that spat out matter. And then, with a horrendous sucking noise, it closed itself and disappeared.
The sound had left a ringing in his ears. He thought about leaving. Not investigating. But he needed to, not just for the Subway, but for himself. He knew he recognized that sound.
He directed the depot agents to handle the panicked passengers as he ran to see what the thing had spat out.
It sat in the middle of the floor. A huddle of fabric, mumbling to itself. Emmet could not make out what it was. He crept forward, unsure of how to proceed. This was not how he remembered that noise happening last time. In fact, instead of leaving something in its wake, the ripping had taken something from him. Something precious.
He pushed the thought aside to focus on the matter at hand.
He kept the pokeball ready as he approached, his shoes squeaking on the floor. He caught a faint voice speaking a foreign tongue. What language was it? The voice was rough from use.
But it was also familiar.
Emmet summoned all his willpower to speak. "You are halting the activities of the Subway. Please state your intentions."
The thing - no, the figure - froze completely. Then it stirred, getting to its knees, then its feet. As it rose, Emmet could see the hauntingly familiar coat it wore shredded and sunbleached, the large collar in tatters, the two lines reminiscent of train tracks faded, but still present. The hat it wore, torn and bleached like the coat, most of the stuffing gone.
And then he turned. And Emmet saw his own face reflected in them. The sharp chin, now covered with facial hair into a trimmed beard. The silver eyes, the sharp cheekbones, even the hooked nose. Their face was tanned, their eyes slightly sunken, but bright and confused. Their silver hair had streaks of white. Wrinkles, small and numerous, riddled their cheeks and eye sockets.
Emmet's eyes had widened as his hand lowered.
"Ingo?"
The man's eyes had also widened. He'd slowly nodded his head, visible confusion still written across his face. Emmet's vision grew blurry as he reached in for a hug-
That was not reciprocated. Ingo had held firm, stiffening. Emmet had stopped dead in his tracks. "Ingo?"
He had opened his mouth to speak when Emmet had noticed something else. Two small sets of chubby white hands gripping the bleached and torn coat, tugging at his black pants. Two matching sets of silver eyes staring up at him, wide and alarmed, hiding in his coat.
Ingo had leaned down and plucked them up, scooping one into each arm. They'd buried their small faces into his chest, refusing to look.
Emmet steeled his resolve suddenly. People were staring. "Let us take this to my office. Somewhere more private." Ingo had said nothing, but had followed his brother, the two children glancing up as he'd begun to move, watching Emmet with large eyes.
And yet the day, he later swore, had started out normal.

Doing something a little different for day 6 for month of emmet. I did a sketch and some writing. Imma do a reunion for emotion. Haven't done any writing in a while so I'm throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Seeing the missing subway train speed into the station was something Emmet thought he would never see. It had been almost 4 years since its disappearance.
When it started to slow to a stop, he swore he could see someone in the driver's seat. Despite the condition of the train it was some how strong enough to travel from Anville to Nimbasa.
Tears started to well up in his eyes, was this really happening, did he pass out in his office again?
The wheels screeched as the damage train came to a stop.
Running up to the conductor's car, Emmet stood in front of the door to see if what he saw was real.
He thought he was seeing a ghost when the door opened. Tattered and ripped up coat and hat that looked similar to his own.
"I- Ingo you're... by the dragons..."
"Alive, and tired but mostly alive"
Emmet couldn't help but hug his brother, a little too tight of a hug.
"Glad to see you too, uh little tight of a hug there!"
Depot agents came running to the scene, there where some tears and celebration from finding out the news.
The battle subway is back in business!
(Really tried my best here, haven't really written anything in a while, also just was going off of the top of my head)

so, just for fun: What is the worst thing you think the Submas have ever done to each other, or someone else. (In terms of pranks, or general lightheartedness, although 'Their greatest mistake' could also be interesting)
Oh man haha, fun prompt but there’s a lot they could do!! I had to do at least two for each haha.
To themselves
Ingo to Emmet
Stealthily stuck a sign on Emmet’s back that said “test my ninja skills: I’ll prove you can’t pickpocket me”. Emmet is horrified with how many people inexplicably start rushing him and jabbing their hands into his coat pockets, only to be surprised when he screamed instead of dodged.
Asked Emmet to go to the Gear Station’s deli bar and order him a drink that doesn’t exist from a “secret menu”, and the trick is to keep asking for it, as part of the secret menu’s initiation is for the baristas to act like there is no secret menu. He watched Emmet make a fool of himself asking for the drink over and over, and that his brother already told him how the secret menu works and to give up the act.
Emmet to Ingo
Tried to pants him in the middle of a very important depot agent conference meeting. Ingo’s secure belt ended up causing Emmet to just plain rip a giant strip of the back of his pant legs off, ruining his pants instead. The conference was being filmed.
Told a bunch of preschoolers on a field trip through the Battle Subway that it was National Use-Your-Train-Conductor-Like-A-Jungle-Gym day, and pointed at Ingo.
To someone else
Ingo and Emmet to Elesa
Switched Skyla’s contact information on her phone with their uncle Drayden’s and didn’t tell either of them.
After Elesa said she could tell them apart no matter what they did, they pretended to act like they did the thing every identical twin does at least once, and swap each other’s clothes. Except they didn’t. They essentially did purposely bad impressions of themselves to make it seem like they had swapped, and were trying to trick her. Elesa believed it, to her dismay when they revealed they never switched, and she couldn’t tell.

Enemies to lovers domming Emmet
There was an ask I did that I read wrong
Thank you for the sender that told me about it, it was my mistake. I'm going to leave the original one up and just make a new post :)
I didn't want to go with a similar story so I made something with more plot
Gn!reader, they fuck Emmet whether they have a harness or a dick is up to you
Cw: the two buttheads a lot there's a little bit of fighting. Degrading, overstim
I hope I didn't make this too wholesome I was trying to do hate fucking
Emmet's smile twitched. God it's you again...
"Emmet, don't be rude. They came all this way to discuss business with us," Ingo whispered to his brother
"I'm Emmet, they're from a rival Railway company we shouldn't have to"
You just had to shoot Emmet a smirk as you walk up to his older brother.
"Thank you for having me again, boys; Opelucid city's Drake Station is happy to work with you again!"
___
When rumors of Drake Station's powerful Subway boss reached Nimbasa, Emmet's interest was peaked.
This ended up in a humiliating defeat. One Pokemon of yours decimated his party after weeks of training your Pokémon still ripped through. It was trending on Swellow for weeks of Emmet getting brutally humiliated.
This started a rivalry that people tuned into, interested to see the battles between Drake and Gear station.
But what they didn't know was the even spicier relationship behind the curtains...
Ingo was kind enough to let Emmet go early,
" See you at home; I'm going to go see some places; make sure you bring back something to eat,"
Ingo gave his brother a small smile and a nod" try not to be out too late."
He gave a nervous chuckle before getting on the line to Opelucid city. When he got off, he made his way to Lacunosa town,
---
It was evident that your rivalry would become something more the two of you as much as you swore up and down that you hated each other had excellent chemistry and got along well. It was clear you both wanted something from each other.
---
Emmet open your door and came into your house, throwing his coat on your couch before sitting down. " you know you could at least knock." You snipped
"I'm Emmet, and you gave me a spare key and I'm going to use said key, also you already knew I was coming~"
His monotone voice ended in a purr when you came over and kissed him.
You deepened your kiss, unbuttoning his polo shirt and running your hands all over his chest, running your thumb over and pinching his nipples.
Emmet whined when you broke the kiss removing your hands from his body.
" patience, pet, there's Lube on the nightstand in the room. Get ready for me."
Emmet's eyes lit up, his smile going wider before making his way to the bedroom.
He displayed himself for you moving up his fingers before slowly pushing them inside his asshole, shuttering on how cold the liquid was.
You bet your lip when you wrap the collar around his neck. Fuck, he looks so good like this collared and obedient, eager to please
You rub the liquid on your cock, giving it small Strokes before slamming it inside of him,
"Oh Fuck!" Emmet held back his moans as you started to pound into him mercilessly.
"If only they could see you now getting fucked like this underneath me."
Emmet shuttered at your words clenching around you,
" Subway boss Emmet is actually just a little whore"
"S-shut the fuck-hah!"
His eyes roll back biting into the pillow when he feels your hand wrap on his cock.
" Little do they know every time you talk shit, you still come back just to have a taste of me, pathetic."
You change your pace hitting harder and deeper.
Giving his cock a squeeze, he loses that, exploding all over your hand and chest while you fuck him through his orgasm, milking every shot of cum from his cock.
"S'much, oh~ so fucking good! More, More!"
You wrap a finger around his collar, pulling him forward, your lips meeting his, his cock still throbbing; you stop your pace for just a moment reaching over to grab a new toy.
You press the cold plastic tip against his shaft before turning it on you stayed deep inside of him while the you press the vibrator harder against the tip of his cock
"Mmph, such an annoying tease~!"
Man isn't he talkative tonight.
His soft moans of pleasure were like music to your ears.
Occasionally Emmet would try to grind his hips or buck against the toy only for your hand to come down on his thigh; he only whimpered, his cock jumping at the sharp pain.
He was getting close again but instead of you finishing him off you lower the vibrator settings.
"Beg Emmie, ~"
He gave you a glare there is no way in fuck-
" beg, man whore or I will leave you like this" you grow your hand coming down on his dick.
"HAH! Fuck! Please make me cum! please- I am yours I am forever- oh~"
You pick up your pace putting the toy on the highest setting.
You slam your lips down on him once again as he cums again. His arms wrap around you as you move deeper, staying nice and still as you milk his cock
Emmet purrs, feeling your tongue run up his neck before sucking. He loves when you mark your territory.
Cock growing soft in your hands you slowly pull yourself out of him.
Emmet snuggles closer to you laying his head on your chest.
"I love you Baby"
Yeah, I think it's time to come out to the public about your relationship with your rival.

Emmet was reaching Wayward Cave, which would lead him to the end part of the Coronet Highlands. While he felt excited to keep looking for Ingo, he still had that anxious feeling in the back of his heart. Eventually, the exit end of the cave came into sight, and Emmet thought he saw movement inside. Something welled up inside his chest. Emmet decided he'd call out into the cave. He put a hand up to his mouth and shouted.
"Hello! I am Emmet! I am a Subway Boss! I am looking for my twin brother, Ingo! Do you happen to know him by chance?"
Emmet half expected no one to respond. But then, the exit of the cave glowed as a torch was lit in someone's hand. Emmet's eyes widened. The person set the torch against the cave wall and stepped forward.
Emmet's eyes filled with tears and the biggest, most genuine smile he had produced in years spread across his face.
It was Ingo.
Ingo held one last torch as he reached the exit of Wayward Cave. He thought again about the rift, his origins and the items he had found. Would he really be able to find something about himself via the rifts? He wasn't even sure if he had fallen through one. But Akari, someone from his world, had. That had given him hope, and continued to do so now. With all that had been happening, Ingo was determined to get some type of answer.
Now, the exit of the cave was in sight. Ingo swore he saw some sort of movement from outside the cave, and he paused. Suddenly, he heard someone shout towards the cave from the outside.
"Hello! I am Emmet! I am looking for my twin brother, Ingo! Do you happen to know him by chance?"
Ingo's eyes widened, and something welled up in his chest. That voice.
Emmet.
Ingo quickly took the last torch and lit it, leaning it against the cave wall and stepping forward. Now he could properly see the person who called out.
Ingo was struck with a strong wave of emotion; Confusion..nostalgia..happiness...longing….
Emmet looked..like himself, except his coat was the opposite color. Ingo could barely see a smile on the man's face, and his stature was more expensive than Ingo's own. One of the gloves Ingo once had and the armband he still had were missing on this person. Small amounts of water began to prick at Ingo's eyes. He was so familiar…
A blur of white…a smile…
Someone who looked..like me…
We'd battle and discuss Pokémon, I think…
"Subway Boss...twin brother..."
"I can't remember my own home, nor my family, if I had any…"
Ingo took in a breath. He did have a family.
Emmet.
Tumblr media
Emmet froze in place. For a moment, he couldn't move, but when he could, he put one foot in front of the other, beginning to move his legs.
One shaky step at a time, before he was in a full on dash, soon barreling into his brother's arms, gripping him with a hug that time and space could rip from his cold, dead hands. He tried to say something, but all that came from his mouth was whimpers that accompanied the stream of tears that started rolling down his face almost immediately after he spotted Ingo.
Upon stepping out from the cave, Ingo also felt himself move towards the man who looked like him, if not much slower and making much less distance.
Ingo didn't have much time to process what was happening. He felt confused, excited, happy...and sad. Ingo almost immediately returned the hug. He was crying. Tears stung at his eyes, and when he tried to blink them away, only more came. Eventually, he allowed them to.
Finally, Emmet spoke between sobs.
"Ingo..you are here! You are really here..I knew I would find you! I knew my searches would not be useless, no matter how many people told me they would be..it worked! I found you! I am sooo happy to see you! You can finally come home.."
Home.
"I can't remember my own home…"
Not only did Ingo have a family, he also really did have a home.
A home he had before Hisui.
Suddenly, Emmet pulled away, tears still streaming from his eyes.
"We have to tell Elesa! Our Pokémon, too! Yup! The Subway System has been verrry lonely without you, you have not been there to even battle! Are you alright? You look a bit sickly..you have grown a beard, too! When–"
"Wait." Ingo said suddenly.
Emmet was important. Very important. He could feel his mind grasping at it, but it couldn't quite grip it.
Emmet stopped talking and blinked.
"You look like me." Ingo said simply.
Emmet was taken aback, but nodded. "Yes. Yes of course, you do. We are brothers! A two-car train!"
A two-car train.
Yes. Ingo knew that. The moment he saw Emmet, he knew he was important.
He was his twin brother. One part of their two-car train.
Ingo was so happy to see Emmet again.
And yet, as a moment of silence wavered through the air, Ingo realized
He hardly remembered anything about Emmet.
"I'm sorry, I'm just..a bit delirious," Ingo then said, focusing, "I'm really happy to see you."
Emmet nodded "I am happy to see you, too! So verrry happy! Although, about being delirious..you look…beat..are you okay? You are acting a bit strange. We should go find someone who can fix you up."
Ingo appreciated the thought, but he was thinking of something else.
How would Emmet react if Ingo told him he didn't remember? He would be heartbroken.
But somehow, it seemed worse to keep it from him.
Ingo spoke, "I'm sure there's many things that must be done, Emmet..but there's something..very important I need to tell you. It will be unexpected, but please, just listen."
Emmet's smile dissipated a bit, but he nodded.
Ingo took in a breath.
"I…I really don't want to have to tell you this, but…when we were separated, I…"
Emmet blinked, looking at Ingo.
"I had..forgotten about you, and I still don't remember everything…"
Emmet's eyes widened.
"What…?"
Ingo winced, but continued regardless,
"Let me explain. One day I woke up in this land called Hisui that I had never been to, and I couldn't remember anything but my own name. All my time there, I knew there were things I was forgetting. Things so important. But I could never remember."
Emmet's chest was tight, and he had a horrible feeling in his stomach. He felt like he might throw up. Ingo? Forgot him?
"No. N-No, you know me! I am your twin brother! Your best friend!" Emmet blurted out.
"You're right, I do know you." Ingo responded, "From the moment I saw you, I knew you were important. Family. But I only know so little."
Tears welled up in Emmet's eyes, and he used his hands to pull on the hair on the sides of his head. He began to weep.
Emmet felt like he couldn't talk. His legs collapsed from under him and he landed on his knees, his tears coming down harder
"I knew it was something I did. You would not say such a cruel joke otherwise."
Ingo's eyes widened. He rushed to sit in front of Emmet.
"Emmet, I'm…I'm not joking…but I swear, everything will be okay–"
Emmet was hyperventilating at this point.
"How could this ever be okay…?" He whimpered.
Seeing Emmet like this broke Ingo's heart. What he felt and how he thought was endlessly complicated, but he had to try and explain it.
Ingo paused, before he seemingly instinctively hugged Emmet, holding him gently but securely. Tears stung at his eyes. He felt terrible. But he needed to stay strong.
"Emmet. I know your heart is broken. My heart is broken, too, but I want to fix both of them as much as I can, because I care about you. So please, hear what I have to say."
Emmet didn't respond, but he relaxed somewhat from his previously tense position, lowering his hands from his head.
After a moment, Ingo continued,
"In my time before today, I would do and say things for reasons I didn't know, but they gave me strength and comfort..there were rare instances where I would recall things that were from my lost past because of small aspects of things that would make something click in my head…"
Emmet wrapped his arms around Ingo. He was silent. Ingo supposed he was listening.
"A few months ago, someone appeared here…she helped me regain some knowledge of my original time and world, as she was from there, too…but again, I only know so little compared to what I could possibly remember…"
Ingo pulled away from the hug, his hands on Emmet's shoulders. Ingo looked into Emmet's eyes, which were filled with mixes of emotion.
"But I can remember, I want to remember …I had recently begun to recall tiny bits and pieces of my home, of you…and the moment I saw you, I knew you were somebody key to my life and memories."
Emmet took in a breath, stammering.
"S-So…even if you can't remember everything, you know how important the people and things from your home are…and you still care about us…?"
Ingo nodded firmly, "Of course. Even if the memories themselves have faded, much still lives on in my heart." Ingo dug into his pocket, taking out the torn glove and piece of blue fabric he had found earlier in Wayward Cave, holding them out for Emmet to take, "Even if I can't remember the memories that make it up, I can still feel the bond between us and how important you are to me. My twin brother. My best friend."
Emmet gasped, taking the piece of fabric and the glove.
"Where did you find these…?" He murmured.
"In that cave you saw me come from. It was there I remembered multiple important things; It almost seems as if the universe wanted me to find them." Ingo explained, "I had a good feeling they traced back to someone special, and now I know that's true. I knew it was true from the moment I saw you."
"Ingo…thank you so, so much.."
"You don't need to thank me for anything."
Before anything else could be said, Emmet felt something from within his coat. He gasped.
"Our Pokémon".
Ingo was confused for a moment, before it hit him, and his eyes widened.
"You said something about 'telling our Pokémon'...we were Pokémon trainers back in our..home..too, weren't we?"
Emmet nodded, but as he opened his mouth to speak, a blue beam of light shot out of a Pokéball in his coat, a Pokémon forming. It looked confused, before it turned to Ingo, and stopped.
Ingo's eyes widened
Its name escapes me, but I remember it wielded flames with mastery..
His Pokémon.
-
Chandelure had felt as if something was off. She didn't want to jump to conclusions, but she felt as if their trip with Emmet had come to an unexpected stop.
So she left her Pokéball to see.
And what she saw was certainly unexpected, but absolutely welcome.
It was Emmet. And Ingo.
Ingo. It was Ingo!
-
Ingo blinked in shock as he took in the sight before him. A Pokémon, resembling a chandelier with purple flames.
Its name escapes me…
Chandelure.
Chandelure made a noise of much excitement, tipped with a mix of other emotions. She swiftly floated towards Ingo and hugged him as tightly as she could with her strange yet welcoming appendages.
Then, a multitude of other beams of light escaped Emmet's coat, 12 other Pokémon forming in total! They were also confused for a moment, but made noises of their own unique excitement and emotions as they spotted Ingo. 6 more Pokémon surrounded Ingo, the 6 others behind him.
Ingo seemed surprised, but not bothered. Emmet had a perplexed expression, but then he smiled, shrugging. He knew he should probably give Ingo a moment to take this all in.
"They missed you a lot."
Ingo's eyes filled with tears as he returned Chandelure's embrace. Then, after a moment, he let go of her, going to give the other Pokémon a warm greeting. He listed their names in his head as he scanned them.
A creature made of gears and other items. Klinklang. A yellow and black dragon with blades on the sides of its mouth. Haxorus. A small brown and white creature with a long face but sharp claws. Excadrill. A creature composed of garbage, yet had a charming demeanor. Garbodor. A creature resembling a strong human, but not quite, carrying a red metal rod. Gurrdurr. And a creature with pincers and a large, square rock on top of it. Crustle.
These were his Pokémon, although he had equal ownership of the last one, sharing it with Emmet, a strange detail he seemed to remember off the top of his head. These 7, out of the 13 he could see. They were his. He fought the tears filling his eyes.
Ingo went over to the other 6.
Another creature made of gears and other items, identical to Ingo's own, except the gears turned the opposite way. Another Klinklang. A long, blue and yellow creature with fins and a large mouth. Eelektross. A yellow creature with 6 eyes and 6 legs, and blue and purple patterns. Galvantula. A colorful creature with feathers yet also scales, bearing wings and claws at the same time. Archeops. A small, gray creature, seemingly made of metal, with 6 legs and pincers in its mouth.  Durant. And a blue creature seemingly made of rock, 3 legs hoisting it up, with smaller orange parts, and yellow carving out its eyes. Boldore.
Ingo blinked, the tears in his eyes rolling down his face. This prompted the Pokémon to move positions, Ingo's own Pokémon scattering around him and patting him, the other Pokémon chirping sounds to comfort Ingo. Ingo laughed and patted the Pokémon in return, his laughter assuring the Pokémon he appreciated their gestures.
Chandelure had returned to be positioned in front of Ingo. Her flames wavered brightly.
I remember that it wielded flames with mastery…
Ingo smiled.
But then, that smile vanished. He glanced at Emmet, who by his facial expression, Ingo was able to tell he was thinking the same thing.
"Better sooner than later. I will help." Emmet stated simply.
Emmet was stressed, but he knew it was the best way to go. Ingo was certainly stressed as well. As anxious as he still was, Ingo's words resonated with him, and he was able to feel somewhat calm, and know what he said was true. At the end of it all, he was glad Ingo told him sooner than later. He'd rather get it over with.
"We had an unexpected stop in schedule." Emmet spoke.
"The reason we had an unexpected stop is because I had to work something out with Emmet regarding something important," Ingo explained, "and it's only fair that I tell you all, as well."
The Pokémon gathered around Ingo.
"It's..not good news. It's going to be hard to take in," Ingo said, "but please trust me when I say it'll all be okay. I just need you all to listen".
"Ingo loves you all verrry much." Emmet added, "Please keep this in mind."
The Pokémon were concerned, but also confused. They had been through hardships before; what could this bad thing be?
It came to them that they underestimated what it was.
Ingo repeated what he had told Emmet to the Pokémon; That before today, he did not remember them. As expected, the Pokémon did not react well. They made noises of distress, some arguing with the absurd concept, others panicking or shutting down. Some threw fits and others went to hide. Emmet's Pokémon scattered over to him. He tried to comfort them, petting them and trying to reassure them.
Haxorus shrunk away, lowering his head. Chandelure's flames darkened just a bit. Garbodor cried, its defeated arms hanging at its side.
And with the others' grief forming in their own ways.
Ingo had expected a negative reaction, but it seemed he had overestimated his ability to take control of the situation.
"Everyone, please listen–" Ingo called out.
A few of the Pokémon looked at him, but most of them were too upset.
Ingo took in a breath and went into thought. How could he calm them down?
After a moment, something clicked in his head. It was odd, but it felt right. He reached into his cloak and took out the Celestica Flute. He put the flute to his mouth, and without any outside guidance, played a tune he had never heard in Hisui, yet it was so familiar.
Emmet smiled, holding back tears, and the Pokémon began to calm down. The noise lowered, any fits began to calm, Pokémon hiding peeked out to look. Haxorus looked up, Garbodor lifted its arms, Chandelure's flames grew just a bit brighter.
That tune was only something an Ingo that remembered would know.
It may seem silly to some, but Ingo and Emmet had grown a special attachment to that tune ever since they were boys. Their parents sometimes whistled it to them to help calm them, and the brothers learned to whistle it themselves to help themselves and each other when they needed it. As Pokémon trainers, they passed this tradition down to them– they'd whistle it to their dear Pokémon when they needed it, too.
Ingo lowered the flute and put it back in his coat. He sat down and patted the ground to his side.
"Come here and listen. I promise, everything will be okay, even if it seems like it won't be." Ingo averred.
Emmet shuffled towards Ingo a little as his Pokémon approached him as well, a soft smile on his face. He had a warm feeling. Despite claiming to have failing memory, Ingo had remembered how to calm both him and their Pokémon down; Close, calming gestures and shared, special things. There was no way it was a coincidence.
Ingo continued to explain the situation to the Pokémon, making sure to communicate well to them; how he did things for reasons he didn't know, how he knew there were things missing, how he started to remember, could and wanted to remember more, and how he wanted to mend this all.
"You all are my family, my best friends." Ingo stated, looking at the Pokémon, "I want everything to be okay again, and I'll make sure that that happens."
The Pokémon chattered among themselves, perplexed..but glad.
Ingo glanced around, looking at Emmet and the Pokémon around him.
His family.
A sad look then flashed across Ingo's eyes. Tears filled his eyes and he blinked them away, but a few rolled down his face. He glanced down for a moment.
"I'm so sorry about all of this, that I forgot you all…I still missed you before today, even if I didn't know it…I didn't mean to forget you, and I would never want to.."
Emmet and the Pokémon were taken aback. Emmet rushed over to Ingo and pulled him into a hug, surprising the older twin. The Pokémon, who had surrounded Ingo and Emmet, patted Ingo and chattered noises of comfort.
Ingo always liked the company of his loved ones. Emmet and their Pokémon remembered that for sure.
"Ingo. You have no reason to apologize. I am sorry if I made you feel bad. I am not upset with you. I never was." Emmet affirmed, "This situation is not your fault. Even though you do not remember, you are working with us, like you always have. We are grateful for that." The Pokémon made noises of agreement.
A warm feeling grew in Ingo's chest.
"No, no, you didn't make me feel bad." Ingo responded, then letting out a breathy laugh, "I am glad I could do something. Thank you, Emmet. All of you. Thank you so much."
After a moment, Ingo and Emmet let go of each other. Emmet looked at the ground for a moment, thinking, before he looked back up to Ingo and spoke.
"So you are…willing to regain your memories, like you said?"
"I have wondered about my origins for all my time here," Ingo responded, "I would want nothing else. Which reminds me; Emmet, my Pokémon friends, I have decided on something, and I have something important to ask you all."
Emmet seemed a bit perplexed, as did the Pokémon, but nodded, with the Pokémon making noises of affirmation, assuring Ingo he was in the clear to ask.
"I am willing to regain my memories." Ingo said, tears welling up in his eyes as he looked at his brother, "Will you all be willing to once again start up this two-car train," Ingo looked around at all his Pokémon, "along with special, dear passengers," Then back to Emmet, "and set out on a new track; Helping me reclaim who I once was, as I will help you, and mend this all?"
A smile spread across Emmet's face, tears forming in his eyes as well, the Pokémon showing delighted movements and making noises of happiness, "That is exactly what I want to do. You said you wanted to fix our hearts; You should not have to do that alone. I want to do that, too. I have no doubt that our Pokémon feel the same. Yup! We are a two-car train with our dear passengers, like you said, after all, and we want nothing else than to go down this new track with you."
Ingo smiled as well and stood up, reaching his hand out to Emmet, who grabbed it and stood up with Ingo, then embracing him once again. Ingo returned the gesture. The Pokémon huddled with them, Ingo and Emmet patting them softly. Neither twin, nor the Pokémon, had to say anything; The message was already clear.
Thank you for being here with me.
After a few moments, they let go.
"We have much to do." Ingo said, "It will be a long track forward."
"That is okay. It will be alright as long as we all are together; You think this, too, yes?" Emmet responded.
Ingo nodded, "Absolutely."
The Pokémon chattered in contentment. They agreed.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Lost Tracks of Time, Chapter 15
Summary: Team Conductors get rescued by an independent rescue team called Team Galaxy. Emmet takes his time exploring their base while waiting for Ingo to wake.
Author’s Note: For those who aren’t aware, there’s a new Derailed short story! It’s called “Derailed: Unchained”, and it’s technically an AU of Chapters 15 and 16 but you only need to read up to Chapter 14 to understand it. And if you haven’t already, check out the first chapter of Derailed called “Abduction”. It may not be canon, but please check it out! Here’s a link
This is a casual reminder that the characters of this AU with a clear canon counterpart do not perfectly match up to said counterpart.
Also, there might be something in here that qualifies as body horror? Nightmare sequences are fun.
Thank you @furiouskettle! Are you tired of me tagging you in every new chapter post? I am sincerely asking.

Emmet woke up in an alien location. His bed was a proper bed with linens, a blanket, and a pillow. It was soft and a great contrast with his hay bed at the Pearl Guild. In an identical bed next to him was Ingo. His coat was folded next to Emmet’s, and their hats rested on top of their respective coats, all on a bedside cabinet. A folded towel covered Ingo’s forehead. Across from both of them was Chandelure, who sat in a reclining chair. They were sleeping, but their flames were of healthy size.
Emmet realized he worked up a sweat during his sleep. He vaguely recalled the nightmare – it was the same one he always had, after all. He doesn’t know how many times he had seen it, but he could never remember much beyond screaming, falling, and wind. But one element lingered in his mind that wasn’t there before: sickness. An aura of nausea and weakness penetrated the entire dream, and he wanted to throw up or rip apart his stomach. At least that feeling didn’t follow him to the waking world.
Laventon walked into the room. “Oh! You’re awake! Hello, I am Laventon. I’m Team Galaxy’s doctor. We found you lot in the fieldlands nearby our base. Eelektross said he flew you all here. Are you doing well, Emmet?”
“I am well. What happened to Ingo? Where is Sneasler and Eelektross?” Emmet asked.
“Oh, okay. Well, Eelektross is in another room because he’s a large specimen and needs more space! As for Sneasler, that’s your Noble friend, right?” Laventon paused and saw Emmet nod. “Yes. I don’t know where she is, so I can’t help you there, but she doesn’t know where we are, I think.”
“What is our location?”
“Jubilife City! Or what’s left of it, that is. Cyllene and I found this building and made it our base! It’s no Pearl Guild, but there’s plenty of room for my studies, Rei’s tinkering, Cyllene’s training, and medical rooms for pokemon in need!”
“What happened to Ingo?” Emmet pointed at his brother. Chandelure napped in peace, and he felt well-rested. Ingo, meanwhile, twitched in his sleep like he was still feeling pain. “Why is Ingo still sleeping? He doesn’t like naps.”
“Well, it’s a peculiar thing. You, Chandelure, and Eelektross were all poisoned, but Cyllene and I were concerned about Ingo looking the same despite being a poison-type pokemon. Well, we took a closer look and… It should be okay for me to remove this temporarily.” Laventon hopped up onto Ingo’s bed. He was so light that the bed didn’t squeak under his weight. His little hand popped out and slowly removed the towel off Ingo’s forehead.
A crack stretched across the yellow gem on Ingo’s forehead.
Emmet struggled to keep his smile on. “Is he broken?”
“Well, yes, but not really?” Laventon replaced the towel to cover his gem again. “How shall I explain this? …Usually, pokemon with gems embedded in them have the gems as a power source or amplifier of power. The Lake Guardians is a good example of that! But for your species, I don’t think that’s the case. Ingo’s other injuries have been healed since we first found you all, which makes me think this crack is connected to his current state.”
“You can’t do anything else to heal him?” Emmet asked.
“That’s what the towel is for! It’s soaked in a salve that is slowly healing the crack. This only works because the gem isn’t connected to psychic powers or anything, but I do wonder… Head trauma alone isn’t enough to cause a crack like that. He had to be under a lot of pressure first before the final strike. Emmet, was he under a lot of stress? Or have anxiety issues or depression or anything similar?”
Emmet fidgeted with his blanket. “…Ingo puts a lot of pressure on himself. I tried to get him to rest. He couldn’t.”
“I see… In that case, we’ll just let him rest for now,” Laventon said. “And you can rest as well. We don’t need two Sneasels to get cracked gems. If you need anything, please shout for one of us!”
Laventon left the room. After a few moments of waiting, Emmet, unable to handle the silence, put on his coat and hat and jumped off his bed.
***
Rei had finished checking on Eelektross. On his way to check on the Sneasel twins and Chandelure, he encountered Emmet. He was pacing up and down the hallway with his arms and legs completely straight while swinging about. A trail formed on the rug he paced on.
“S-Sir? Are you okay?” Rei asked, taken aback from the sight.
“Thinking,” Emmet said. He continued taking laps in the hall, even waving at Rei once he realized he was present.
“What?”
“I am thinking.”
“…Thinking about what?”
“A lot of things.”
There was a pause in the conversation. Rei wasn’t sure how to approach Emmet. “Are you… worried about your brother? I heard from the others you’re siblings, right?”
“Yes. I am Emmet. Ingo is my twin brother. I am worried about him.”
“Well, you don’t need to. The Professor is really smart with medicine, and Ingo will be back to fighting shape soon.” Rei played with the ends of his scarf. “Are you… worried about Lady Sneasler?”
“Hmm, yes, I am.”
“Well, that makes sense… You know what? I’ll let you get back to… whatever it is you’re doing. Sorry for bothering you.” Rei walked past Emmet, who had not stopped pacing at any point during their conversation, to check on Chandelure and Ingo.
Emmet had gone back to pacing so that he could think – think about Ingo, think about Sneasler, think about his strategy to defeat and free Sneasler, think about what moves he would need for their battle, think about how he freed Ingo but couldn’t free anyone else from the Red Chain, think about how many of his rules he broke, think about what to tell Ingo as soon as he woke up.
Rei, however, brought him out of his thoughts. “Oh, Emmet! Can I ask you something about Ingo?” he asked from inside his brother’s infirmary room. Emmet ran inside and saw Rei using the bedside cabinet as a stool to see Ingo at eye-level. “What is on his wrist? I don’t recognize that sort of technology.”
“It’s a watch,” Emmet said.
“Really? Never seen one like it.” Rei turned his head around the watch, trying to look at it from different angles without touching Ingo. “Though it looks like it could use a new screen… Do you think Ingo would let me tinker with it if I asked?”
“Not sure. Ask him when he wakes up.” If it was up to Emmet, he’d let Rei check out the watch, but Ingo was possessive over certain items beyond his reasoning. He figured the Arc Watch fell into that category.
“Yeah, I’ll just wait until then. Thank you anyway, Emmet.” Rei watched Emmet return to the hallway and walk around without so much as a goodbye. He was just busy and forgot, Rei thought.
***
Emmet was no longer satisfied in pacing outside of the hallway of Ingo’s room and decided to explore more of Team Galaxy’s base. Despite the building being hundreds of years old, it held firm and had minimal signs of age. Even the paint and wallpaper appeared to have been applied within the past few years. Though that may not sound important to others, Emmet knew appearances mattered. One of his rules is to smile, after all.
Emmet noticed a closed door and opened it. Inside, Eelektross tried and failed to sleep on a bed like a normal-sized pokemon. Instead, his long body was piled around like a discarded scarf. He used the bed as a headrest.
“Eelektross, you look cramped,” Emmet said. He recalled Laventon’s words about needing to give Eelektross more space.
“I’m fine, I just tried to stretch… It didn’t work out…” Eelektross said. He wiped his eyes. “Emmet, I’m so glad you’re okay…! Sneasler’s poison was nasty...”
“I am Emmet. I will not let poison stop me in my tracks,” Emmet said.
“Of course you wouldn’t… Uh, you really are the real Emmet, aren’t you?”
Emmet furrowed his eyes in confusion. “Yes, I am Emmet. I am a Sneasel, but I am Emmet.”
“Right… I’m sorry for doubting you. I just thought… it’s been a long time… maybe you were just some reincarnation of Emmet… but you really look like him. You sound like him. I think you are him. Is that… pathetic?”
“No, I am Emmet.”
“…Okay.” Eelektross wasn’t sure what other response he expected.
“While I am thinking of it, I must thank you, my Eelektross.”
“What for?”
“You brought our team to safety when Ingo and I couldn’t. Thank you.”
“Oh, of course. I’m glad these pokemon are nice… Is… Is Ingo awake yet?”
“Nope.”
“What is happening…? I don’t remember Ingo getting sick this much...”
“Laventon said it’s stress.”
“Okay, that makes some sense… You two don’t remember much, but you also say that a lot still live in your hearts. I wonder if his heart is remembering something causing it?”
Emmet’s default smile softened. The battle was a blur, but Sneasler’s distorted cries echoed within his head. ‘Warden Ingo’, she called him. The combination of words meant little to Emmet’s ears, but he watched Ingo’s defenses fall from the same words. Sneasler’s strike made Ingo crash into the ground headfirst. “…Okay, I’ll ask him.”
“What, now?”
“No, when he’s back at this station. Later, Eelektross.”
“Bye…?” Eelektross waved as Emmet tipped his hat and left his room. As sudden as it was, it didn’t surprise him too much. There were plenty of times Emmet forgot his usual manners because he was focused on something else. Eelektross shrugged and resumed his attempts to untangle himself.
***
When Emmet went back to exploring, he noticed a room different than the others. Several bookshelves were precariously stacked on each other, all filled with aged books. There was a couch and desk with a chair for reading. It reminded Emmet of a smaller version of the Pearl Guild’s library. Laventon sat in one of the chairs. His book about the Hisuian Nobles hid his body, and he had to lower it to look at the pokemon that entered his library.
“Hello again, Emmet!” Laventon said. “Are you a fan of reading?”
“Reading is good. Reading is important. I have done a lot of reading recently.” He and Ingo combed through Calaba’s library so much that they found books she didn’t realize she owned. He was almost tired of having to do so much research. Still, curiosity guided him, and his eyes scanned Laventon’s collection.
“If you’re feeling anxious, I could make some tea to help calm nerves,” Laventon said.
“No, I do not need tea right now.” Emmet pointed up to a book on the higher shelves. “That one looks interesting.”
“You want to get up there? Sure, give me one-“ Before Laventon could offer a ladder, he witnessed Emmet climb the shelves. “Please be careful!”
By the time Laventon pushed a ladder to Emmet’s location, Emmet pulled out the book he wanted and jumped back down, falling from a distance three times his height. “Here it is.” He showed Laventon the book. It was titled On the Rails: A History of Trains. He began flipping through the pages.
“Oh, do you like human modes of transportation, Emmet?” Laventon asked. “I’m studying humans! I like learning about their history, culture, lifestyle… I read a lot about what it was like for humans and pokemon to live together, but I wish I could have seen it myself. But I also am studying pokemon behavior in mystery dungeons! It’s so strange, how normal pokemon can behave so differently after long-term exposure to a mystery dungeon environment! And then there’s pokemon who can resist it, like your friend Eelektross. There are so many mysteries in the world, Emmet! I formed Team Galaxy with Cyllene to help me uncover mysteries and help my studies, so I’m so glad to see someone who shares a similar passion!”
“Indeed,” Emmet said. He flipped through the book, but despite appearances, he listened to Laventon’s every word. “Ingo and I have memory troubles. I think we were passionate about trains specifically, but we couldn’t remember what they were. It was strange.” He paused his page flipping and stared at the book for a moment. “…Can I keep this?”
“Sure! I think you want that one more than me, so feel free to have it!”
“Thank you. I will now depart.” Emmet ran out of Laventon’s study room, book still in hand.
***
“Ingo!” Emmet ran back to the room Ingo was resting in. “I know what trains are!” He pulled up a chair and sat down next to Ingo’s bed. “I can’t wait to show you when you wake up.”
Chandelure woke up and floated next to Ingo at the opposite side from where Emmet sat.
“You are back to operating condition?” Emmet asked.
Chandelure smiled and nodded.
“That is good.” Emmet turned the book around in his hands, then he set it down next to Ingo. His smile softened. “I have been thinking. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. …I like taking challenges as they come. I don’t worry about the future as long as I have fun. I have fun winning battles, and I have fun when I’m fighting serious battles. …But battles have become too serious. The Nobles talk like the world is headed towards a final stop.
“…I want to talk about battle strategies with you, Ingo. We will need teamwork to free Sneasler. It shouldn’t be hard for us once you heal.” Laventon’s words about Ingo’s injury bounced around in Emmet’s mind. “…I found you, but it feels like I’m losing you again. Please wake up, Ingo. I don’t know how we ended up on this track, but I can’t travel it alone. I don’t want to. I already failed as a conductor by not helping Sneasler in time. I don’t want to fix my mistake alone.”
Ingo didn’t respond. Feeling that he couldn’t enunciate his feelings into words anymore, Emmet rested his head on the bed and waited. He watched Chandelure’s flames burn. Though the fires made him sweat, they weren’t too uncomfortable for him. Chandelure’s power hadn’t worked on him before due to his typing, but before he knew it, Emmet fell sleep.
At first, the familiar vague nightmare took its hold on Emmet’s mind, but then it burned and made way for a new, stranger dream. Emmet was human. Two pokemon stood in front of him. One was a smaller, younger-looking Eelektross, and the other was Chandelure. Next to Emmet was another human. He sounded like Ingo. There were two other humans and two pokemon across from them, but he couldn’t identify who they were. The walls were of metal; Emmet realized their location was a “subway train”. The pokemon battled, and Emmet and the human who had to be Ingo conducted their pokemon together. The train was warm and lit in a vague violet-blue light. All was well.
All was well until Emmet looked up and noticed the metal walls and ceiling melting. Molten steel dripped around everyone to the point that Eelektross and Chandelure both were dodging drops of metal like any other pokemon attack. Emmet himself noticed he was shorter than before. He looked down. His legs were melting and pooled onto the floor. He tried to step back, but because half of his legs liquified into a substance like white paint, he fell onto his back with a splat. Ingo called out to Emmet and offered a hand. Emmet reached out, but his hand and arm burst apart. The rest of Emmet’s body followed suit.
Emmet woke up with a gasp. Sweat matted his fur. He noticed Ingo was still sleeping, his condition unchanged. Across from Emmet, Chandelure stared at him with a concerned, scared expression.
“You. You tried to stop my nightmare?” he asked.
Chandelure nodded.
“Don’t. Don’t do that again. That was not fun.” Emmet gave Chandelure a smile to let them know he wasn’t angry.
***
Emmet took to pacing around the room. Chandelure was uneasy watching him, even if he did it back when he was human, too. The walking just made it easier to think.
Ingo stirred. “…Emmet?”
“Ingo! You’re way behind schedule,” Emmet said. He jumped back to his seat next to his brother.
“What is this station? Where are we? And where’s Sneasler?”
“We are at Jubilife City. We are at Team Galaxy’s base. As for Sneasler, her location is… unknown.”
“Sneasler is in danger… We need to depart!” Ingo sat up, throwing the towel off his forehead. He then grabbed his head and slowly laid back down. His forehead gem was still cracked, though not nearly as deep or large as it was earlier.
Emmet retrieved the towel. “Sorry, Ingo. There will be no departing until you are back to standard operating condition.”
“I see… I may not like it, but very well. I am still worried for Sneasler. From what I remember of getting connected to the Red Chain, she must be in critical pain and distress.”
“I agree. I want her to be back to normal, too. I have been trying to come up with a new strategy. Our last one wasn’t good enough.”
“Did we have a strategy?” Ingo asked sincerely.
Emmet placed his hands on his hips. “I attacked Sneasler with all I could. You didn’t attack at all.”
Ingo rubbed the fabric of his blanket between his claws. “I was hoping to appeal to her emotionally to stop her. We wouldn’t be able to beat her in a battle.”
“We can. I am Emmet, and you are Ingo. We are pokemon. We are a two-car train. We have to battle.” Emmet let himself show a little irritation, though he kept his smile on. “Please don’t be ridiculous. Battles worked before. Why change a successful strategy?”
Ingo frowned more. “…I did hesitate from battling against Sneasler, which I now regret. I try to make sure all of our passengers are treated the same, but it appears that I have a weakness for Sneasler. But I would likely hesitate again if you were the one Chained, Emmet.”
Emmet’s signature smile softened. “…Oh.” Emmet cared for Sneasler, but Ingo’s words made him reflect on his perspective. Ingo was always the one who was better at talking. “In that case, if you somehow still got Chained, I would battle you. But I would only do it if it was the correct course of action. I will not hesitate to help Sneasler, and I would not delay in helping you, Ingo.”
Ingo’s eyes widened. He had a realization, too. “Ah, I see. I apologize.”
“I do, too.” Emmet relaxed a little with Ingo’s response. He didn’t like getting angry at his brother. He literally couldn’t remember the last time they disagreed so deeply, but at least it was resolved quickly.
“I thought I heard a new voice!” Laventon said as he entered. He was on a different floor of the base, but the new voice clearly travelled around the building. “Ingo, good to see you’re awake, my boy! Though you’re still not fully healed, I see.”
“Good day, Professor. My name is Ingo. You are part of Team Galaxy, correct? Thank you for assisting us!”
“Of course, of course, Ingo! We’re glad to help another rescue team in need,” Laventon said. Only Rei called him ‘Professor’, so he wasn’t sure how Ingo knew about that nickname. “As soon as you’re all healed, we’ll let you go out and do what you need to do!”
“Thanks,” Emmet said.
“Yes, thank you! We will need to meet with the Nobles for assistance to…” Ingo’s eyes widened. “Oh no!”
“Ingo, what is wrong?” Emmet asked.
“Sneasler’s Toxic Plate!” Ingo sat up as the horror set in. His mind spun around, but the shock from the realization was too great for him to mind it. “Lady Sneasler was the only Noble who still held her plate! But now she’s Chained, so she must have delivered her plate to the conductor of this nefarious plot!”
“Oh, the Toxic Plate? I am ahead of you.” Emmet reached inside his coat and pulled out a familiar purple slate.
“The Toxic Plate! How did you obtain this?!” Ingo asked.
“When I was battling Sneasler, I used Thief,” Emmet said. “Thief is a good move to surprise an opponent. I am glad I learned it.”
“Excellent! Bravo, Emmet!” Ingo was so relieved that his hands shook. “Now we can prepare for the route ahead and aim solely for freeing Sneasler.”
“I see everyone in Team Conductors is conscious.” Cyllene floated into the room and stood firmly on the ground. “This should make our coming battle less taxing on my team.”
“Come again, Cyllene?” Laventon tried to remain calm, but he didn’t like Cyllene’s grim tone.
“Professor, it’s bad news!” Rei said as he charged to rejoin everyone. “Lady Sneasler is approaching our base!”

Note
Ingo exchanging his clothes with Emmet's must be overwhelming.
First, he's removing clothes that he more feels than knows have deep importance to him. And the tunic is one of the few remaining connections he still has with the Pearl Clan and the life he made there. He's giving them up for a brother he doesn't quite remember.
Second, and equally overwhelming, Emmet's clothes on their own. (I like the headcanon that Emmet swapped his white shirt and gloves with black ones.)
The sensory experience would be a lot. Ingo has already seen the man in White and his coat and hat. Now the clothes are in his hands. Except for color, they're the same how his own used to look like when he became aware in Hisui. It's sensory proof he existed elsewhere before. That there is a connection. The texture feels familiar. It foreign, - smooth, undamaged - after the elements and dangers in Hisui damaged Ingo's own.
(Ingo looking into a mirror while in white…)
Also, with how little time they have to escape the police, the swap must happen quickly? Within minutes. So Emmet's clothes would still be warm and carry his scent. Smells are often strongly tied to memories and feelings.
What I'm saying is that Ingo has to catch himself and calm down under a wave of feelings. Which he might buckle under after he wakes up, remembers that Emmet was kidnapped, and he's wearing his clothes that still faintly smell like Emmet.
Holy Fuck yes!! This is exactly what I’m going for when I get to this scene!!
(And yea, I agree with that head cannon. Some time after the second year Emmet started wearing the black shirt and gloves. No one commented on in but it was noticed by friends and family.)
You’re so on point with all of this! Ingo being so hesitant to let go of his clothes and then getting so emotional when he receives Emmets 🥺
(His warden bracelet is with Akari too right now so he doesn’t even have that to hold onto while at the center.)
And! Then there’s Emmet receiving his brothers cloths! The soft Pearl clan tunic and the tattered remains of Ingo’s hat and coat. He sees up close just what the cost had been through and the small bit of mending here and there that was done to keep it from just falling apart. It’s both chilling to think of all the things that could have caused these tears, but also comforting to know how Ingo continued to wear them even after they became so damaged. Like he couldn’t bare to let them go.
And your Absolutly right about smell being linked to memory, and the the sensation of wearing a whole uniform too. Ingo finds himself remembering more and more on the walk up the mountain to the meeting place that once he finally comes face to face with his brother again he has a solid idea of who he is and how they were always by each other’s sides growing up.
And then the kidnapping happens, Emmet is ripped away, and the white coat is dirty and splattered red from Ingo’s injury’s in the aftermath. When Ingo wakes up after, in a totally different part of the forest with Akari crying with relief that he’s awake, he’s at first so confused and disoriented that Emmet is not there. He should be here. Where is his little brother? He falls back to unconsciousness shortly after, despite Akari’s cries for him to stay awake.
(Also, side note, Elesa does accidentally call Ingo ‘Emmet’ once or twice while he’s wearing his brothers clothes)

Okay this is gonna be complete 1 am rambles and I have work tomorrow but I need to get this written down and out my head before I forget lol so...
Submas and friends PLA AU--
After Ingo disappears Emmet obviously goes on a search to find him, not alone though as Elesa and Skyla agree to help. Mainly to keep an eye on him ya know, make sure he sleeps and eats doesn't spend 24/7 looking for Ingo, as much as they also want to do so.
However-- One day Elesa informs the others of a massive break through she's found which great one step closer to finding Ingo but--- she goes dark right after that. In fact neither Skyla or Emmet can get through to her. So they pay her flat a visit and-- it's completely wrecked, like someone had been looking for something. There's no sign of Elesa anywhere and while nothing seems stolen theres alot of old history books with many pages torn or just completely ripped out. The two of them can't help but feel unnerved that whatever took Ingo has now taken Elesa for getting too close...
Elesa on the other hand has just woken up in god knows where Hisui and has just been taken in by a bunch of people in blue outfits calling themselves "Diamond Clan" who are complaining about some "Pearl Clan" Warden in a tattered black coat up on the mountain---
In the present Emmet and Skyla are even more determind to figure out just what the hell is going on as soon after Elesa's disappearance there are world wide reports of people and Pokémon just out right vanishing. They make a pact that the two of them will stop at nothing to solve this crisis and bring Ingo and Elesa back home even if it may get them killed.

Submas Song Sunday #7
ello and welcome to Submas Song Sunday, where I take a song from my playlist and kinda just talk about how I think it fits the subway bros (or just one of em!)
I might include references to fanfic, or explain an animatic I can think up to the song, or just talk about it!
DISCLAIMER: Nothing on this playlist is intended to portray anything aside from familial relationships. I am NOT looking at backstories of songs, who they were written for, or songwriter’s intent. I go STRICTLY off lyrics and how I interpret them!
You may find a link to the playlist in my pinned post! If you have a song you want me to talk about, send it in :)
My gf @mostlycogent suggested this one for my playlist and we actually did some analysis of it together during a car ride lol. Thank you for indulging my need to collect songs for my blorbos :)
Song: Get Me Away From Here, I’m Dying by Belle and Sebastian
So this, again, like so many of these, takes place during PLA. But this one has a happy ending! It starts with the two of them apart, sure, but it results in a victory.
Oh, get me away from here, I'm dying
Now we open on Ingo doing his thing as a warden. I cannot... even begin to image what tf this guy went through adjusting to his new life. He went from modern poke-New York City to ancient poke-Japan. While his ripped coat does admittedly look pretty badass, and his extremely serious expression is piercing, you can’t argue it doesn’t look like this transition was really hard on him.
He doesn’t look OLDER to me, just... more worn. Do I think he’s LITERALLY dying? Nah. But he’s ‘aging faster’ in this world than he was at home. It’s taking a toll on him, and I wonder if he knows this or senses it’s the case. That this wasn’t exactly the life he was meant for.
Play me a song to set me free Nobody writes them like they used to So it may as well be me
Now I LOVE this line in reference to Ingo. To HIM, the melodies that he can only half-remember are in the past. His past. Hence, ‘nobody writes them like they used to’ because literally no, he cannot get electronic or rock or experimental music in Hisui. He only has his flute, which he can teach himself approximations of the songs he knew on.
But. But!!! To the WORLD, those songs haven’t even been WRITTEN yet! So the almost cheeky play on the lyrics in this sense, “nobody writes them like they used to,” is like yeah they’re in the past of the focus of this song but not as a whole.
And there IS the very real possibility of Ingo literally inventing the melodies of songs he knows to be passed down for the next 200 years.
Here on my own now after hours Here on my own now on a bus Think of it this way you could either be successful or be us
Now this is where Emmet comes in. The first line is still Ingo, finally relaxing in his setup in the highlands, whether a tent or in a cave with Lady Sneasler. He’s done for the day and can finally rest.
But also I kinda imagine it as a splitscreen with Emmet, finishing up for the day and gathering his bag from the office and heading home from Gear Station.
And then it is Emmet, probably on a train and not a bus, making his way back to the station closest to their apartment, quiet and alone.
That last line is a sarcastic one he’s used before. Once they WERE successful, they ran one of the world’s most popular battle facilities, vital public transit, are some of the top battlers around, and are beloved public figures worldwide.
But all that has ENDED, or at least is on hold. They had EXACTLY the lives they wanted. Until Ingo vanished, and Emmet sometimes feels like he’s at the center of a cosmic joke.
With our winning smiles, and us With our catchy tunes or worse Now we're photogenic, you know We don't stand a chance
More of the same, about how the pair of them worked together to create the battle facility and life they wanted.
And how, maybe, that was their downfall. Emmet doesn’t know what HAPPENED to Ingo... Was he kidnapped because of his fame? What HAPPENED?
Either way, Emmet has no idea if this was destined to happen. If they were fated to have a taste of a happy life, but lose it all too soon.
Oh, I'll settle down with some old story About a boy who's just like me Thought there was love in everything and everyone You're so naive They always reach a sorry ending
Now, Emmet quite literally is doing research to find Ingo, but he’s also thinking back to his own childhood. Where he tried to see the good in everyone, even those who were unkind, and how silly that all seems now. He’s more irritable than he used to be (I hc this as about ~4mo after Ingo vanished, where he’s just started his search after becoming a functional person again) and his child self seems so naive. He was always going to get hurt one day.
But at the same time, he is opening a literal history book and finding someone who looks just like him. With a familiar coat and hat, and an even more familiar face...
It does not take him long to realize that Ingo ended up in the past. He knows that there will be an end to this story in the same instance he recognizes what must’ve happened.
He is shaking.
They always get it in the end
There can be no happy ending.
They always get it in the end Still it was worth it as I turned the pages solemnly, and then!
It takes Emmet a second and a year to turn the page and learn what happened to this mysterious warden.
With a winning smile, the boy With naivety succeeds At the final moment, I cried I always cry at endings I always cry at endings
But what he sees there... Emmet cannot believe it.
His own face stares out from the page.
He is beaming, and Ingo is next to him, looking far more alive than the previous picture had shown. Their eyes are alight, and Ingo is smiling.
Emmet does not need to read the words to know that this means he will find a way back in time to reunite with his brother. He will SUCCEED and Ingo will not die in the past, alone. The instant he realizes this, he bursts into tears of relief.
Sometimes happy endings truly are real.
Oh, that wasn't what I meant to say at all
But it will not truly be and ending, will it? Their tracks won’t end stranded in the past. They will go home. Together.
From where I'm sitting, rain Falling against the lonely tenement has set my mind to wander Into the windows of my lovers They never know unless I write
This will be a monumental task, though, Emmet thinks as he looks outside into a stormy night. He thinks, mind working fast but far more at peace than it had been in months. He’ll have people he needs to explain the situation to.
"This is no declaration, I just thought I'd let you know goodbye" Said the hero in the story
And now Emmet is the hero of this story, the rescuer, the protagonist. He tells his family and friends he is leaving for a bit, that he WILL be home and he will have Ingo.
He says it so matter-of-factly that they have no choice but to believe him, stunned as they are.
"It is mightier than swords I could kill you sure But I could only make you cry with these words"
And now Emmet is speaking to Arceus. He could flat-out fight the god, the pokemon battle of the century, but instead.
The man simply states why he is there. He is Emmet. He is missing his brother. He wants to find Ingo and bring him home.
Somehow, even beyond the basic statements and monotone voice, Arceus knows just how much this means to Emmet. He sees what this man is willing to do to find his family, and grants his wish.
Cry with these words Cry with these words Cry with these words
And Emmet is in Hisui.
He sees his brother
Oh, get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Oh, I'm dying Oh, I'm dying Oh, I'm dying Oh, get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Get me away, I'm dying Oh, I'm dying Oh, I'm dying
And they have the reunion they deserve. <3
(Of course, my GF said it would be super funny for there to be a montage of wild pokemon chasing Ingo to these last lines, and I have to agree lmaoooo)
The second I heard this song I knew I had to analyze it. I can picture the vibes perfectly. The discussion of endings and subverting the story ending at all... It’s perfect. I’ll be thinking of this one for a while!!

I've also posted this to Ao3 but here is the first chapter
No warnings right now except blood
It wasn't the first time Emmet has traversed the abandoned tracks, and it won't be the last. Two years ago to the day Ingo vanished off these tracks, and his pokemon were here, and as hard as Emmet tried he couldn't take care of his own team and his brothers, and besides only Ingo chaduleure stayed with him. The others seemed to distance themselves. They now reside in a nice sanctuary for pokemon who lost their trainers too early.
Emmet hissed as his finger caught on something in the wall. Blood welled to the surface as he stared at it monotone. A fake smile was always stretched on his face, and that didn't change as he looked at his new wound with a blank expression. Nothing really mattered to him after Ingo vanished. Elesa and Drayden tried to help him, and they are very nice, but they don't fill the void of what losing a brother does to you.
Emmet hissed as he looked down at his finger again, it hadn't stopped bleeding, his white glove was staining red. Maybe he was getting sick or something because the wound was starting to get black edges to it, he could see the black through his white glove where he ripped it. He was probably seeing something, besides he knew these tracks inside and out. He was probably out too late anyway.
He made his way out of the tunnel and looked up to the sky, the light from the city had drowned out the stars above. He turned his attention to his route home, his hand was numb now, but it didn't bother him the bleeding stopped, and the black faded under his skin. He would need new gloves, but everything was closed due to the nature of how late it was, so he just headed home.
……

His apartment was taped down the middle, and areas were labeled cohabitation, and Emmet's things, and Volo's things. He sighs, hanging his coat up for the night, and heads to his bathroom, thankfully the apartment had two. He pulls off his tie then gloves seeing his left hand his finger which he cut looks entirely normal minus the blood stain that can get out with water. His hand was now feeling like pins and needles though.
His attention is moved to the nosy snoring coming from the room across the hall. He grimaced, Volo was still here, and he had no choice but let the immortal mam stay. He paid half the rent, and he could tell him of Ingo life in the past. Nobody else believed him when he told them of Ingo in the past, but Emmet did. He hated the man but he provided information he needed, so he let him stay as much as a mess he is.
He peels off his clothes so he can take a shower, he is unable to shake the feeling from his hand. This only adds to his frustration, his life is terrible, his brother is long dead, he is stuck with a man he hates, and he is alone. He punches the side of the shower with his left hand hoping it would stop the pins and needles, but it only gets stronger, and it's traveling to his elbow now. He sighs, get a grip Emmet the stress is getting to you.
He sighs and finishes his shower, cleaning up the mess of clothes, and heads back to his room. He just needed to sleep this off, he was off tomorrow like every Sunday, he'll just sleep this off. Maybe if he keeps telling himself that, it will one day be true.
…….
Emmet woke up late, it was nearing two in the afternoon. He sat up straight feeling his stomach lurch making him nauseous, he quickly covered his mouth, and thankfully nothing came up. He felt clammy all over, and his shirt was stuck to his back with a thin layer of sweat. He let out a soft groan, as Ticket his galvauntla skittered across opening the door to his room. Emmet opened his mouth to call her back, but no sound came out.
Emmet tried to push the blankets off of his legs but his body suddenly gave a protest of pain making him clutch his sides. He groaned and swallowed the bile coming up in the back of his throat as he saw Volo enter his room. He couldn't even protest because he couldn't speak.
"This explains why Ticket wouldn't leave me alone." Volo places one of his icy hands on Emmet's forehead and pulls away like he was burned. "Fucking hell train boy you have a high fever." He sighs. "You're not useful to me, dead, so lay back down."
Emmet can't help but obey him, his own body fighting against him. He opens his mouth again, and barely a whisper of his voice comes out. "I'm fine." He sighs already drifting off back to sleep.
Volo scowls, then it turns to a frown. Emmet always insults him, even when he has the sniffles or something. He can't say he liked the new development. "Fuck fine, I the great and might Volo will help you little train baby…" he stops seeing Emmet already fell back asleep. His mouth moves into a thin line, and you can barely make out the slight worry in his eyes. "You better not have something deadly, you're interesting, and I hate to lose something like that."
Volo travels to the bathroom and wets a small towel to put it on Emmet's forehead. He swore he saw steam for a second, but he shook his head of those thoughts. Pull yourself together Volo, he's just some entertainment then you'll move on you have an eternity remember no attachments. He sighs and grabs his bag and pulls out some medicine to grind up to put in water. "This should help with the fever, then I'll go to the station and tell them you can't come in tomorrow. A sickness like this won't just vanish in a day."

more additions to the ingo on social media post i had:
im yoinking an idea from @cell113 with permission to fix my plothole, ingo thinks he’s like. posting these pics to a gallery. he’s using it kinda like a diary, where he can store his memories? he’s got plenty of pictures but its like scrap booking only the best/most important get put in the gallery. this means that unless something eventful happened 80% of his early posts are sneasel pics or landscape pics because,, he’s on a mountain. aint much up there. the point is he doesnt know other people can see what he’s posting.
anyways one of the first pics to break the wholesome trend (it also breaks the daily post streak ingo has kept up) is an extremely blurry picture of a figure in what can barely be recognizable as a white subway master coat, albeit ripped and tattered. theres what might be blood smeared across it??? the face is too blurred to make out as they loom over the camera, but theres a fanged smirk just barely visible. the caption is simply it looked like me. why was it smiling?
his followers are... understandably freaked out. theres a lot of concerned comments (that ingo cant see because he never figured out the show comments button lol) asking if he’s ok. he’s. mostly okay, just mild lacerations there are a lot of @’s toward @/submasemmet asking “Is this you?????”
and so emmet finds out about this very odd account.
(the mods on the site try to take to picture down a couple times for content violation, yknow. blood lmao. ingo keeps reposting it, worried that his diary is glitched, which increasingly confused captions like
this is my fifteenth time posting this why is it disappearing
is this device glitching?
before the mods give up attempting to contact him to stop and just spoiler warning his photo lol. theres a whole reddit thread compiling his captions though, and it is becoming slowly apparent that something is wrong with this account.)

I know you wrote a fic with Emmet and his partner being separated for a time and while it gave me some insight to Emmet it was mostly from the reader's perspective so would it be alright to request headcanons for the twins when their significant other is far away for an extended period of time? Do they get antsy and what do they immediately want to do when their loved one comes home to them?
writing this in my school's library, i am indecent. also listened to love deluxe, it's a chill album.
▲Ingo▼
● He didn't want you to go. Naturally, he faked a terrible attempt at a smile and congratulated you on the chance to study abroad. The Subway Boss knew that Johto was a lovely place, and you would be safe in the beauty of Ecruteak City, but that didn't mean much to ease his lonely heart. Having grown used to you greeting him in your shared apartment, only to suddenly have it ripped from his grasp. Ingo genuinely wanted to cry. He didn't; he kept his pain silent and saw you off with a long embrace and kiss. You waved goodbye and got onto the plane, promising your return at the end of the semester. The cold of winter blew around him, only your return would bring the sweltering heat of summer.
● He's notably more melancholic, oddly quiet with fewer things to say when he does speak. Emmet notices immediately and asks what has his so upset. Ingo only shakes his head while slumming it through paperwork. The younger twin noted how, since your departure, the older has buried himself into his job with no regard for his personal health. Ingo isn't coping well with the sudden loneliness. Meals have gone forgotten, terrible sleepless nights returned, and his workaholic nature fully consumed his time.
● Emmet forces him to take a day off, and threatens to tell you about his actions should he refuse. The thought of causing you any stress forced him to leave with little resistance. (Some paperwork was grabbed in his small defiance.) During his unplanned day off, Ingo started the day off by trying to read over some contracts and documents, before giving up. His brain couldn't focus, not with all the small reminders of you around. A coat of yours still laid across the arm of your couch, your favourite chips on the counter, and pictures of you and him. He's finding tears stinging his eyes.
● Finally, he calls you and tells you how terribly he misses you. It's heartbreaking to listen to him plead for your touch, voice, presence; any part of you to his side. You reassure him you want the same. His soft words of love in the early morning before you both must leave the bed, his soft hands holding yours as you walked about the city, and the affectionate look in his eyes as he watched you move around the house. His eyes close as he realises he's not the only affected party. You still love him as much as he loves you.
● A plan to try to talk every other day at the least was made, and your phone call brighten his worst days. Emmet notices his brother's near return to his usual self. He finds himself wandering the city's jewelers in deep thought. The separation has him considering more about what he wants in his life. A purchase is made as your return grows closer. Ingo wants you at his side; he hopes you feel the same.
● He finds himself cuddling Excadrill in place of you in the night. It's a bit sad, the poor mole pokemon reminded of the days before he met you. They wonder if you left their master, but hear your voice on that strange rectangle often. All his pokemon miss you a bit too, Crustle running away with one of your socks and refusing to give it back. Ingo sighs at the crustacean's actions. He lets them have it; he's hugged your coat a few times in your absence, desperate for any lingering piece of you.
● When you finally return in May, Ingo greets you at the station with a gentle smile. You rush over to him, tugging your luggage in toll. His brings you in for a deep embrace. You are in his arms again; real and tangible. Lips meet your own for a much too long kiss as he whispers an 'I love you' into your mouth. The next day is spent with you, specifically demanding it off. Emmet wouldn't have denied his older brother such a basic pleasure, he rolled his eyes when Ingo implied that. He attempts to make your favourite breakfast and free you from Crustle's cuddling. The afternoon is spent lazily, mostly cuddling. Both of you are happy to have contact with one another after months apart.
Though, a romantic evening date brings a surprise alongside it. You don't dare answer no when he looks at you with pure adoration in his silver eyes.
▽Emmet△
○ He doesn't hide the fact he's unhappy about it. Yes, he is proud that you are being granted a training experience in Hoenn, but that doesn't mean he wants you to leave. Emmet clings to you with insecurity about going without your support for months. He'll be so lonely; no one to cuddle with during the chilly nights and to smother with his bursting affection. Still, he'll see you off with teary-eyes and a demand that you return back one day. He tries to hold you long enough to miss your plane, he's terrible. You board the plane, and he goes home to cry for a much too long time. The Subway Boss is overwhelmed with emotion.
○ He misses a day of work without warning before a return with tired eyes. Trainers leave his line crying because everything he does has suddenly become too brutal. The twin looses his sense of mercy in your absence. Ingo tells him off for being too hard, especially on kids. Emmet actually went easy on them; just not his usual definition of 'easy'. He's irritable and mocking,
○ Ingo grows tired of it quick and demands to know what has him upset. When he learns it's you, the older twin demands that Emmet talk with you. Finally, you talk. His shaky, whiny voice begs for you to come back home; he's touch-starved and lonely. Your voice isn't enough, he needs all of you. Everything in your shared apartment reminds him of you, and he claims he's about to start sleeping in his office. You chide him lightly for the bad joke, unaware he's being completely serious about that. Your clothes haunt him, a box of leftovers that you ordered left in fridge, he's terrified if he tosses them that he'll lose a piece of you, and all your pictures that you take together. He's haunted by happier memories.
○ You coo at him over the line and reassure him you are feeling the same way, having taken a Joltik as team member in his honour. The little guy makes you think of your cuddly boyfriend, with how he always wants to crawl on you or tries to trap you in his web. His chest blooms with warmth at your comment. That Joltik was specifically bred for you; it took weeks, and he was terrified you wouldn't want them on your team. An innumerable amount of 'I love you's' were shared until one of you grew too tired to keep talking. The line goes dead, and Emmet falls asleep with a smile on his face. You missed as much as he missed you.
○ You talk every day, the small conversations reassuring his lost confidence in your relationship. His aggression ebbs away to normal levels; children and adults alike no longer feel bullied by the Subway Boss. Emmet finds himself wondering what he wants in life during your absence. He still feels young, but everyday ages him just a bit more. Eyes close as he imagines you in formal dress, holding his hands with a gleaming ring on your finger. He wants that. A search begins for a perfect ring.
○ All his pokemon dog pile on him in an attempt to make their trainer happy. Galvantula wrapping themselves around his torso, or Eelektross tangling their limbs around his body in a slimy embrace. They know you're gone, and miss you terribly, having grown attached to you as Emmet. He notices Durant stealing on your shirts and tries to stop him, but the iron ant hisses at him. It's taken away to some unknown place. The younger twin laughs about it later, he actually had been cuddling with one of your shirts himself.
○ Your return to Unova is marked by a tackle from Emmet. He holds you to himself and refuses to let you go. Your luggage can be abandoned; he doesn't care. All that matters is you. Kisses are peppered anywhere he can get, and you'll allow. “I love you verrrrrry much!” he says as he basically attempts to kidnap you from the airport. The next day is spent together in bed as he refuses to free you from his embrace unless its to use the bathroom or eat. His and your pokemon lie around you as the lazy day is thoroughly enjoyed. You bury your face into his chest, missing the sound of his gentle heartbeat.
Though, he does take you out to a park in the evening. Under a beautiful starry sky, he knelt before you with an important question, love unmistakable in his seas of mercury.

Gimme a second I’m drawing smth but like… listen transforming into a monster to Protect the Kid/Angry On Behalf of Kid is near and dear to my heart and I would 100% lose my mind at Ingo and Emmet 1. Scaring the bejesus out of Kamado for being an asshat and BANISHING A CHILD and 2. Two worked up, anxious dad zoroarks piling on their kid like parent animals do to their babies. Rei can’t move because his uncles are currently on top of him and licking his hair. Help him.
I think if Emmet and Ingo are Very Angry, it's either Absolutely laying a verbal beatdown (RIP Kamado's hearing) or being Silently Scarily Furious. You suddenly clearly know the difference between Ingo's regular face and his Angry Face, and also just because Emmet is Smiling doesn't mean he isn't Enraged.
I think the only reason why they slam on the brakes in this situation after a verbal beatdown of Kamado is because Ah. They initially had Red Eye Markings, but now they both have sharp teeth and claws. Considering they also fell out of the Rift, continuing this will probably make things worse for their counterpart. Time to find Rei. That's more important.
EDIT: Mild, darkening illusions in Kamado's office do occur as both Ingo and Emmet stand in there to reprimand him. They don't notice they're doing it. Also yes, Cuddle Piles are a Must. They're not portrayed as the sort in most media, but I've always liked the image of Ingo and Emmet (and Elesa!) sorta just leaning on one-another off the job or falling asleep together. I also like the image of Regular Ingo or Emmet having some kid hide away under the side of their coats. Usually to Ingo's surprise and Emmet's amusement.
I don't imagine they'd be Preventing Rei from moving with lying on him, just curled up around him as Zoroark if he needs the comfort. However, Ingo will be Fussing, especially if he's hurt. Emmet will shove a berry or two his way and stare firmly until he eats it.
You're not leaving until your cab is fully mended, Rei!

*inhales* Okay, so. I recently finished Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Ho boi. Surely, I am not the first one to point this out but, but... What in the world did they do to Ingo?😢 His story in the game is so messed up! *spoilers ahead*
Tumblr media
I really like the new gameplay in PLA, but I couldn’t care less about the story and characters. That was until the second Ingo's tattered coat appeared on screen. My immediate reaction was squealing "Gen 5 remake confirmed!!!" out loud, but that quickly turned into the most depressing storyline I've seen in a Pokémon game. Like. I love Black and White (my favorite games in the series). I love the Battle Subway and the Subway bosses. I really love how they move and act in sync, almost inhumanely, and how they visually represent the yin and yang. So why on EARTH separate the twins without giving them any kind of closure? I can't possibly imagine what Emmet is going through and Ingo having amnesia but still remembering things his brother did and said makes things so much more depressing. And I keep wondering why Ingo, of all characters, fell into the rift. If the sole reason is Gen 5 baiting, then why oh why rip him apart from his brother? Furthermore, the Subway Bosses are extremely popular among Japanese fans (only second to N in B/W) so why separate such an iconic duo with seemingly no reason? I am so sad and confused but also VERY excited to see the Subway Bosses in yet another game (since Pokémon masters ex). Please oh please give this story closure. And please don't mess things up in the Gen 5 remake, let the bros be together, p l e a s e! 😭
(Now, should I draw angst- or comfort art? 🤔)
