OK SO beside that tim shifts from cat to human the first time with alfred,,, hes a safe adult in his eyes and he trusts him and its a trust alfred hasnt and wont ever betray. cass just likes to sit on his shoulder while he has tea,,, he makes her a cup and she flies over to drink when she feels like it but mostly she’s chilling. steph usually runs around and tries to pick things up to “help” alfred and he gives her lil pets,,,, duke usually feels like in the way when hes shifted and alfred is cleaning up or working around him so he usually shift back and helps and it makes alfred smile a lot even after he tries to shoo duke away bc thats His Job yk,,, duke still helps sefooefshofse

OK UM i admit i did not think of babs bc she always slips from my mind,,,, i dont have a big connection to her character,,,, im not sure if she’s a shifter yet i gotta think but i kinda feel ,,, fox for her,,,,, if u have other suggestions im open ? i dont know much about her character sadly,,,,

OK SO under the cut is tim’s story n how he met and ended up w the bat, big tw for animal (shifter) abuse and child abuse, starvation, abandonment, umm mutilation & description of injury

tim first turned into a cat (to his parents knowledge) when he was about 4 or 5. he’d been already introduced to the world but as he was a small child they hadn’t really been showing him around everywhere so only a handful of people knew/remembered small boy tim. janet has a particular hate toward that branch in her family that can shift so she’s really jst. hating her son having it and she immediately just. decides that she just doesnt want to see him. so jack and her just start locking him in a tiny cat cage, which prevent him from turning back into a boy, feed him catfood when they remember to feed him. at some point they get him declawed (which gives him terribly vivid nightmares of human him getting his fingers torned off of his hand) and when they leave they give him a tight collar while leaving him out of the cage which prevnts him from shifting back bc the collar would just go through tim’s throat if he shifted to human.

so tim drake ends up . not existing. everyone forgets the drakes had a son, tim very rarely gets to be in human shape (which hurts at some point), and when he does his parents usually yell at him and making him feel very unwanted, going as far as throwing things at him until he jst, shifts back and makes himself as small and forgotten as possible. he stopped going to school early, but he still taught himself to read (u gotta do smth when ur stuck as a cat for years) and went through lots of his parents books (that were on bottoms shelfs bc its hard to put the books back in the right shelves while in cat form and he gets yelled at enough as it is just for existing).

so he’s like 10, and his parents have been gone for a while . and he’s rly not doing good. he’s not rly clinging to life. he’s underfed. everything hurts. his brain isn’t really reactive anymore. and hes on the wall between the drakes and the wayne’s estate dick and jason are in the garden, playing around, and he just. falls asleep. passes out from exhaustion and his body kind of giving up on him.

they hear him or see him, idk, they find him and jason shifts back, holding the small kitten in his arms and he runs inside, n they take care of him, the adress on the collar said he’s from next door,,, at this point they dont know he’s a shifter,, but when he wakes up tim’s all warm and tucked against a warm body (dick) and jason is beside them petting him gently and the second tim is awake he’s tense and trying to get away bc humans have done nothing but hurt him at this point yk,, he’s barely ever met anyone,,, he sticks to the drake’s house bc he’s terrified they’ll know if he goes somewhere else

(altho deep down he thinks they’d be happy if they came home to an empty house)

and when he wakes up. thats when dick n jay understand he’s not just a cat, he’s a shifter, n jason holds him in place to remove the collar bc he *knows* he cant possibly be able to shift to human with it,,, but even without it tim doesnt shift back, hes jst, scared cat,,,,

(”hey, it’s ok, we’re like you” jason says, in the most gentle voice dick’s ever heard him use. there is a moment of silence, where the kitten blinks, and then the familiar noise of flesh rearranging itself while jason shifts into his hyena form. he’s careful to keep his distance, laying on his stomach to make himself smaller - which helps, but not by much as he’s still huge compared to the little shifter in front of them. dick knows the lines of tension and those of exhaustion in their muscles, and remembers how they didn’t even stir when jason had carried them inside. he shifts.

“i’m gonna get you some food, okay ?” he levels his tone with his brothers. “we should have some fruits around, upstairs. fish maybe ? if you’d like ? or something else.” he smiles that smiles only he knows how to smile. “or maybe you’d like to pick yourself ?”

the little cat manages to make themselves smaller.)

they eventually manage to feed him and hydrate him, and dick tells alfred and bruce about the little shifter while jason keeps an eye on him,,, bruce connect the drake and tim shaped dots. he remembers janet and jack rejecting a gala invitation a while back bc she had recently delivered, only he’d never seen the kid.

tim only lets jason and dick close a first, bc they’re younger, bc they’re shifters, and then alfred bc alfred always brings him food on a plate and with a fork and knife like he’s going to use them as a human. he talks to tim and pets him gently once tim allows it,,, he’s a safe adult.

bruce scares him a lot, even if he’s gentle and he’s a good dad. he’s bigger than jack has ever been, and he knows he could hurt him. he just scares him a lot. he has too much authority, too much presence.

tim shifts back into a human on is seventh day at the manor, while alfred sits with him in a little room tim had hid in. he’s a very small boy and he cries out in pain when he shifts, but alfred puts a hand on his cheek and just smiles

(”hello, my boy”)

tim is very quiet, takes a shower and shifts back before anyone else can see him,,, but slowly he lets it happen around the others. one time dick n jay wake up from a nap session to a little boy suggled between them,,, there is a lot of hurt and pain from jason bc he’s been that little boy, hurt and scared and in pain, and it brings back a lot of sad things,,,

eventually he lets himself shift into bruce’s arms on the second week and he cries a lot n bruce tells him he figured out he’s the drake’s son, and jst, h, he adopts

🌻 describe what home is like for you and your f/o. (do you live together? would you like to? how do you decorate? what makes it comfortable for you both?)

I'mma allow myself a little bit of freedom with this answer, as a treat

We live together! It's been difficult to find a balance between our design... Aesthetics i guess? I have a lot of butterfly decor [or i guess they'd be pokemon in this case], we have some fairy lights on the pretty patio, a room for our trophies (Actual trophy roon) but he also uses it for a work room if he's behind on any paperwork, and we have a library of books there, organized by genre. fic and nonfic on different sides of the wall, and the space in the middle that hasn't been filled in yet has figures we like why yes my idol kids are next to some cool dragon figures, we can do both. Even though Lance winds up doing a lot of his work in here, the room manages to keep some semblance of relaxation. I have a small altar in there as well, incense and candles stored in there, as well as the unfortunate amount of tarot decks i own. (Several others have been strewn about the house, to wherever I took them, with probably seven or ten in the living room, and three or five somehow in the bedroom, leaving Lance curious as to how that always happens whenever it's time for me to round them up.)

There's another room for me to do crafting in, and a lot of my fiction actually winds up in there, as well as cosplay/craft reference books, and any art design/myth/ancient history books i might be borrowing for inspiration. And then forget to put back until he asks where it's at.

The patio is as wide as the house, the backyard unfenced as it goes into, like, idk a meadow/prairie that ends with a forest and eventually runs into the indigo league's mountainside.

It looks very domestic on the outsideand then you see the inside and you are like, "ah. Yes. They do indeed live here". My apt gets that comment a lot LOL but thats bc i have a lot of shit on display.

The living room has a gaming center for me, mostly organized by me since i'm the gamer here. Stuff like big controller accessories are hidden behind entertainment consoles' doors, along with spare cables and controllers. There's a glass coffee table in the center of the room, with navy/dark blue couches and a corner table connecting the two as they angle towards the coffee table and tv.

There is a fireplace off to the side that lacks a couch, that is not in use except during winter.

The kitchen is one that has one of those... I don't know the name for it, but a counter that connects to the kitchen? Not an island but kinda technically yes. You could technically sit and eat here. There's a dining room/table a bit behind it, sort of sandwiched between the kitchen and living room.

There's an upstairs behind the entertainment console wall, which sometimes i regret having, especially when i'm tired. But upstairs is different sort of rooms, especially one used as a supplies sort of room for various things (usually for our pokemon). One or two are guest bedrooms, though we don't always have people over; it's nice to have and if one of us doesn't want to wake the other at any point in the night, we might sleep in one of those rooms. Though one of those rooms probably got redesigned recently by lance so if silver stays over for training he can have a space that's not the couch. Apparently he deserves a proper space to sleep or something :p so more like one guest bedroom by now. I feel embarrassed just saying this but there's also probably a workout room mostly used by him and some of our pokemon. ;>>

There's also a pc/pokemon transporter somewhere around the house, mostly for me to use since i've caught a lot of Pokemon, and we like to let our Pokemon roam around freely. It's not nearly as varied or big an area as Oak's Lab is known for, but for where our house is, it gets the job done. Especially since we're not housing an innumerable amount of Pokemon.

As for the master bedroom, all i have in mind is a big canopy bed, since i've always wanted one, with plenty of room for us to sleep, especially if any Pokemon come in the middle of the night. Pika technically has her own little bed, but she usually winds up curled up on a pillow next to me, or next to my torso. The bed is super plush and the comforters are a big comfort when one of us isn't there before we fall asleep. The bed frame itself manages to look simple but ornate. We put glow in the dark stars along the canopy curtains because I saw some one day and bought them, half jokingly asking if we could put them on there, and he said yes. The canopy curtains are a dark, regal blue; the bedsheets an amalgation of ones that i've kept over the years or saw and wanted, though Lance has managed to prune the amount of blankets kept in/on the bed, since I'm bad at deciding these things myself. The pillows are a mix of shaped ones and plush ones, couple of plushes i've snuck in there while he's gone, just bc i could.

There's of course a walk-in closet, or at least one big enough that you could technically walk-in, and I told him to get a separate closet for all of his capes. He still keeps some in the bedroom. I have a separate one in the craft room for all of my costumes and fabric. You have to.

There's one of those makeup dresser things with the big mirror, a vanity? but I don't often use it for its intended purpose, aside from my minor makeup collection being stored on there. My two hanging nail polish racks are on each side of the mirror, which DOES see more use than the eyeshadows and lipsticks I have. A handful of tarot decks also sneak their way onto it, mostly bc i wanted a flat surface instead of the bed to read on, even tho i could have used the coffee table in the living room, but i wanted to read in the bedroom. There's another small, personal altar here, on a wooden table under the bedroom window, with picture frames of us, a couple of candles and incense holders, one of which is that really cool dragon one from the in-verse equivalent of Wal-Mart, a mixture of fairy and witchy [or i guess fairy, ghost, and dark type ] aesthetic knick knacks, a simple incense holder in the middle, which burns quietly, slowly, as smoke trails upwards and disappears into the bright, sunshine creeping in from the window above the table

Of course im just talking about a dream house of a sort here, since i won't get to have any irl.

Despite what sounds like a lot of space, we still manage to keep it very homey for us, with little touches of decor that remind us of the other. There's always room for two in any room if we wanted to hang out together, and a couple of places we make cozy regardless.

Our Pokemon all have a place to roam about; any that are small enough to be indoors that we're currently training or working with have their own food bowls that they share from.

The place never feels too big, even when one of us is missing the other, because of all the personal touches. All of the Pokemon that are free to wander and keep an eye on things when we're both out. Things we all have to keep busy. Work, training, hobbies, etc. It always feels like home whenever we enter. And we never fail to find each other in our house; like two magnets, we'll just know which room the other might be cooped up in.

Maybe this isn't quite what the ask was going for, but i needed the reprieve from "shitty ass 1bdrm crowded apt in vegas", so i took it and ran. Thank you.

Oh and we'd still have a landline phone, with an answering machine, and a phone in most of the rooms. But it sees less and less use since smartphones became commonplace. But we still have them, just in case.

September TC challenge thing

Day 1 - Are you generally nervous around your tc, or are you more relaxed and comfortable around them?

Yes. Tbh I always had troubles trying to talk to J and even when I did my voice would crack or I’d stutter and I just couldn't find words to talk to him.

Day 2 - Is your tc an introvert or an extrovert? How about you?

We did that Myers Briggs test thing in his class. I got INTP and he got INTJ (which is funny his initials are TJ lol). But anyway I guess that means we’re both introverts.

Day 3 - Does your tc use emojis or emoticons when communicating with you? If so, what have they used? if not, what do you think they’d use?

He does not but I imagine he’d use 😆😀🌎😎 idk why those but yeah.

Day 4 - What’s the biggest or most important thing your tc has taught you, ether in terms of life lessons or the subject mattter of their class?

Honestly he didn't really teach me anything? I know that sounds bad. but like? I guess he did but nothing too important.

Day 5 - Does your tc have a classroom / office, or are they “floating” (using a cart or something and moving from place to place)? What does their teaching space look like?

He has a couple classrooms. He has a main classroom. then a second one with tables that student gov meets in and leadership (plans school events and decorates for them) paints and get stuff ready for school dances and assembly and other school functions.

Day 6 - What was your favorite assignment in your tc’s class and why? Are they a harsh grader?

I had him for two classes, a history class my sophomore year and a leadership class my senior year. Honestly I loved most of the assignments in leadership that he had. And yeah I’d say he can be a harsh grader at times, it depends on the amount of effort you put into your work and his class I guess.

Day 7 - Do you and your tc have any inside jokes? are they shared by other people (classmates, other teachers, etc) or is it just between you two?

We don't particularly have any inside jokes. (not really a joke but just a funny memory this reminded me of) his daughter went to school with me and she sat with me at lunch once and he walked past us to go into his class and this dude that was sitting with us, called him daddy. Its not an inside joke but just funny to me idk.

Day 8 - If your tc was an animal, what animal would they be?

idk a puppy bc he just reminds me of a puppy dog tbh bc he’s super cute sometimes.

Day 9 - How do you feel about being in the tcc? Are you afraid of getting caught, etc?

I don't mind being in it. I’ve been caught before by a couple people but I think they’ve forgot by now so like its okay. But I honestly want to tell people so I can get it off my chest. I guess thats why I made a tumblr

Day 10 - How long have you been having teacher crushes? How many tc’s have you had in total, and how long have you been in the tcc?

I have had 3 teacher crushes. They were in 4th and 7th grade. But these crushes were very minimal and were just me thinking my teacher was cute. They were nothing like the crush I have on J.

Day 11 - Is your tc’s room close to the front of your school / campus, or is it more towards the back? Its upstairs on the top floor but all the way on the far end of the school so I guess kind of the back though it faces the parking lot so kinda the front?

Day 12- Are you shorter or taller than your tc?

Shorter lol

Day 13 - does your tc have any pets at home? how many and what animals?

He has cats and dogs. idk how many. But I have been to his house before and saw them.

Day 14 - Does your tc have a blackboard or a whiteboard in their room? What color chalk/marker do they use the most?

Both. Hey usually used a blue marker. And the chalk was always either yellow or white.

Day 15 - Besides your blog, do you vent about your feelings towards your tc in any other way?

On instagram and my snapchat but I don't hint at it being him because his daughter follows me. And in my journal.

Day 16 - Are there any students you’re jealous of in terms of their relationship to your tc?

94 days

Day 18 - Have you ever gotten in trouble with your tc? If so, what happened?

Yes. A few times for cussing. And we weren't allowed to wear hats in school, so I’d always wear mine around him just to get him to talk to me and tell me to take it off. Once he actually confiscated my hat and took it to the office.

Day 19 - Is your tc’s hair curly or straight, and is it short, medium, or long?

It is kind of straight and wavy but short. Idk how to describe it really

Day 20- what web browser does your tc use? what kind of phone/computer do they have?

Im honestly not sure. But I know he has an iPhone, the generation I’m not sure of either.

Day 21- Are there any calendar dates that are special to you because of your tc?

-September 2nd.

-July 26th.

Day 22 - Do any celebrities or fictional characters look like or remind you of your tc?

He looks like Josh Homme to me. (He’s lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age)

Day 23 - Is your tc’s room/office number even or odd?

Odd. Room 221.

Day 24 - What do you think sets your tc apart from other teachers at your school?

Idk, I feel like he was more caring, and more passionate about what he was teaching.

Day 25- Do you like the teachers who are “neighbors” with your tc (that is teachers who have rooms next to your tc)?

No not really

Day 26 - Have you ever suspected someone you know irl of having a teacher crush (either on your tc or on a different teacher)? If so, have you ever confronted them about it?

No never really have. Though there were a couple teachers that girls in my school would say were hot.

Day 27 - Do you pass by your tc’s room or office on your way to class frequently? Do you see them around campus a lot?

all the time. I took the back stairs just to see him or went to my locker even when I didn't need to, because my locker was in the same hall as his class. I also decided to be the TA for the library because I knew he was in the library most of the time sooo. Yeah.

Day 28 - Is teaching your tc’s first job, or did they have another job before being a teacher? Have they ever taught at another school before?

I’m not sure what his other jobs were but I know he’s taught at one other school in Washington. (I wrote an article on J and actually got to ask him)

Day 29 - What things keep you happy and occupied over break when you miss your tc? If you’ve graduated or will no longer be seeing your tc in school, how are you handling the situation?

I just keep myself busy, play video games, listen to music, watch youtube, go to work. But if I find myself really missing him I’ll go to the schools webpage and look a picture of him on his page until I’m over it. I also actually went to the school for its homecoming football game just so I could see him... So theres that.

Day 30- What is the sweetest thing they told you or did for you?

He let me sit in his class when I had a panic attacks because my counselor wasn't at school. I tried to kill myself at school my junior year and he sat with me until help came. And he also would call my counselor when I was having bad days.

I have 2 cats (Angel and Cleo) and 2 dogs (Gilbert and Panda)…… Cleo is a sweetheart who is playful and loves to be petted and is a little ray of sunshine…. and Angel is the exact opposite. Half the time we dont even see her. She just kinda stays upstairs and doesnt interact. Gilbert is like an old man even though he’s only 2 years old. Panda is the youngest, at about 10 weeks old and she is very spunky and full of character

here’s a bunch of stuff

ive got a easy personal project im working on and it makes everything else feel easier too. i always forget, bt then again the things i want to work on are hard, hard to think abt, hard to set into motion. this is easy and it makes me feel good.

this makes it easier fr me to help others too. otherwise i retreat into myself and become useless in reaching out to help others and then retreat farther out of self loathing. i always forget

it was 70° today. it was like 5° two days ago. it’s still not summer weather, air quality-wise, bt i went to the river and wore shorts. i hung out w my friend all day, watched mr nobody which i realized is actually one of my favorite movies, except for its very end. thought abt soulmates, abt love at first sight. so many of my friends i knew immediately as soon as i laid eyes on them

my other projects are aligning themselves too. greater patience, the allowance of time. i went to a coffeeshop that everyone in school goes to frequently and ran into a friend, overheard them talking abt ragnar kjartansson, whose hirshhorn show im trying to write a review of. asked if we could hang out and talk, told them im trying to write now, they suggested we even try to get together to jst sit and write in each other’s presence.

tried to get an alumni gym membership. i want to work out and rock climb. went to the front desk and the person working there took us upstairs to the admin office, dropped us off. the person working at the admin office looked straight thro us, i asked if i could get an alumni gym membership, they raised their eyebrows and said “can u prove yre an alumni?” i showed them my old student id and they said “yre supposed to become an alumni member online.” i said oh i didnt know that and they jst raised their eyebrows higher and said “ya.” it was jst such a weird harsh interaction, like was it a gym thing? is it a boring desk job thing? like... was it a visibly queer, one person’s in a skirt thing? am i being shitty, asking fr emotional performance frm a student worker? its jst like how would i have known. idk im honestly trying to nt think abt it too much bt also i kinda want to jst leave it alone totally forever bt i shouldnt do that bc i want to rock climb w my friends. alumni membership is $25 fr a year and the only benefit i’d want is the gym membership which is another $26 a month and it’s jst kinda shitty? bt i dnt want a gold’s membership, like i want to rock climb and raft in the summer and check out camping equipment and use the diff facilities. w/e

my skin is kinda killing me. i havent been great abt taking my medicine consistently, esp the retinoid since im supposed to only do it at night and only every other day and 30 mins after i wash my face. usually i fall asleep waiting on the 30 mins. idk if its the medicine i have been taking, the pills, and like the “worse before it gets better” thing still holding out, or bc i havent been consistent, bt the worst of it, my left cheek, its so hot and uncomfortable and raised and i jst want to pinch the whole giant solid mess of it til the whole thing cracks and oozes, or else i want to lance it myself. ofc i’m nt gonna do that, bt i think im gonna ask abt draining at my dermo appt coming up. i jst need to wait it out, wait one more week. try to get better abt med regularity.

i rly need to get a GP. i want to start taking anti-depressants, im tired of jst always resetting to living amongst plates and wrappers and leaving chores for my housemate. never have enough energy, always jst go away. i recently realized the implication of a lot of my thoughts and i jst want to be more proactive. i also need to get my knee checked out, see if i can get a proper brace. im trying to nt think abt the fact that i left my new knee brace on the megabus. thats a pit of self loathing that won’t bring my brace back to me.

im hoping summer comes quick and i can come back.
