Platonic father figure reader x Finney Blake HCs
After the kidnapping Finney had gotten therapy but it was finding someone just like him, there was a connection that they both noticed once they passed each other
You noticed immediately why, Finney was psychic and you were psychic
Finney had insatiable urge to speak to you and you did have it as well but it wasn’t insatiable but more drawn to Finney
You guided Finney to a coffee shop to talk, Finney discovered that  you and him were the same. Then the question came…
You were happy to answer, Finney would have never thought that he could connect with someone in their late 20s so much
Finney came to like you, you were soft spoken and so very beautiful for a man
Finney and you become close and he even met your son who was much younger than him
Your son was a bundle of sunshine always ready to play and his presence always comforted Finney and he even insisted to bake cookies for Finney
You were a tailor and made most of your son’s clothes, you even made Finney and Gwen sweaters
You taught Finney how his abilities work
“So you can have ghosts attached to you without them interacting with you?” Finney asked sitting down in your dining room
“Yes, anyone can have ghosts attached to them and not know, they might not even do anything to the person they attached themselves to” you answered as you sipped your green tea and smiled at him
“Wow, so even psychic can’t interact with ghosts that attach themselves to?” Finney was curious if someone like him with psychic wouldn't tell when something is wrong even if they were psychic
“Of course! You’re in the same predicament” you answered nonchalantly as you took another sip, you loved your time Finney
“Wait- what?” Finney’s eyes winded as his blood went cold
“Yeah, you have 5 ghosts that have attached themselves to you- did you not know?” you didn’t notice until you looked back up at Finney and your voice went quiet in worry
“Wait-wait- is one of them blonde? Does one have a bandana?Does one of them have black hair? And two boys with brown hair, one has a letterman jacket and a younger boy around 8-10?” Finney seemed to be hyperventilating and beginning to become frantic
“Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes” You may have been worried but you answered calmly trying to calm Finney with your demeanor
“Oh my god… they attached themselves to me..?” Finney started to tear up, tears swelling up in his wide eyes
“I’m guessing they're your friends? I’m sorry for what happened to you my Dear, would you like my help?” You leaned over and grabbed Finney’s shaky hands that seemed to becoming cold
“Yes… yes please…” Finney leaned his head against your head his voice shaking and  cracking, he started to sob in the crook of your neck whimpering once he had run out of tears to cry
You held Finney in your arms as he sobbed in your arms
After Finney's breakdown he asked you something, “How do I talk to them? I want to talk to them please, I really want to…” Finney sat on your couch with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands as a blanket was draped on his back
You sat next to him with your own cup of tea, “Of course, I’ll tell you how Dear”
“Listen here and listen carefully my Dear, you may have ghosts attached to you but you can not interact with them without making a bond or contact with a ghost” you put your cup on the table in front of you both and Finney did the same leaning closer to lay on chest
“How do I do that?” Finney looked up at you with curiosity that almost made your heart melt
“I’m gonna tell you right now, you have to use your energy to make contact with them. Can you do that?” you looked down at Finney but instead of his face you could only see his his fluffy hair that you adored
“No… can you teach me?” Finney looked back up at you with slight hope as you guided his hands with your own
“Of course I can Finney” you had your hands under his guiding them to the middle of you and Finney, Finney then felt almost like a surge of electricity flow from his core to his hands. That was the first contact
You taught Finney how to contact his ghosts, Robin was super happy to hear Finney actually and thanked you a lot, Bruce was glad to meet Finney again and they just talked about baseball and stuff but he did thank you, Griffin the youngest didn’t talk much but admired Finney for being so strong and thanked you as well, Billy congratulated Finney for doing a good job back then and thanked you for helping Finney, and Vance sort of just mumbled and grumbled congrats and a thank you to you
It was a weird introduction to them but you welcomed them with open arms
You being psychic yourself introduced a ghost of your as well, it was your older brother who died years ago who hangs around you a lot, he was a kind man and interacted with the kids just fine
You met Gwen at some point and gave her a dress you made and she was ecstatic
You always bring flowers to the boys graved whenever you can and they appreciate it especially their families
You and Finney have hangouts at coffee shops and other similar places to just talk and teach
Finney has a notebook where he records all of his findings about being psychic and his experiences as well as your teachings, he brings it almost every time you two hang out
He once accidentally called you dad and you just cried right then in joy as he tried to apologize but also comfort you but you only hugged him as you cried
You eventually calmed down and Finney made you a cup of hot chocolate
Finney makes up excuses to go to “A friend’s house” so he doesn’t have to explain to his father anything about you cause he’s kinda afraid he won’t be allowed to or something
Rainy days are your favorite and you like to just take a walk whenever you can and just admire the place
You have a flower garden in the front of your house that you keep in tip top shape, Finney likes to help and you give him some flowers sometimes
Finney one time made a flower crown for you and you made one for him too, it was a quietly sweet moment between you two
When loud noises trigger Finney you hum to him and he slowly calms down as he breathes in the scent of your laundry softener and your cologne as he relaxes in your loose hold around him and listened to your soft hums, anytime he wanted he could go and he didn’t have to stay
That was your words, but he would never try to leave your hold

______________
“You’re not seriously taking that.”
Sophie Flint stopped dead in her tracks at the low, slightly amused voice that echoed down the hall. She had the Delta Tau Delta fraternity composite tucked precariously under her arm, which was definitely not fair game, but she had a mission to complete.
She wasn’t exactly sure why it was a thing for sorority girls to steal things from frat houses. T-shirts, baseball caps, a fraternity composite if you were feeling particularly bold. But in a fun competition her friends on her dorm floor had concocted at the beginning of freshman year, she and her friends had made it their personal mission to collect at least one item from every fraternity, all 27 at Ohio State University. It was the start of her junior year and she hadn’t taken anything but a couple shack shirts so far (and was immediately told that was cheating), but a little pressure from her friends, a Delt party and a handful of White Claws made it the optimal time to act. Go big or go home, right?
She turned, slowly and put on her flirtiest smile - and dropped the look the second she saw who it was. “Cameron.” Sophie acknowledged him with a mere nod, then started walking straight past him.
Rafe snagged the edge of the composite immediately, tugging her backward. “Flint. Did you not hear me?”
She rolled her eyes, keeping a firm grip on the composite. “Heard you loud and clear. Just not listening. I need this.”
“What could you possibly need a fraternity composite for?” He questioned with raised eyebrows.
“That’s for me to know and you to not find out.” She told him with a smug expression, curling her fingers tighter around the heavy frame.
Rafe debated his options. He could let the girl go with a definitely stolen composite that would be kind of a hassle to replace, and let one of the pledges manning the door deal with it. Or he could argue more and watch the way her eyes grew bright and hear her little huff when she disagreed and - nah, it wasn’t worth it.
He dropped his hand from the frame and lifted it in surrender, his other hand gripped loosely around a red solo cup. “I’m too drunk for this.” (He wasn’t.) “As long as you promise you won’t steal anything else.”
She smirked. “I don’t make promises.” With that, she was on her way with the prearranged route - down the fire escape by the back hallway on the third floor, where her roommates waited not-so-patiently in the parking lot.
___________
Rafe and Sophie had known each other since high school back in the Outer Banks, and they had never - ever - gotten along. He had gone to St. Andrew’s all-boys private school while she went to the sister school at Greenville Academy. Both grades were relatively small and students went to each other’s sporting events, combined for the yearly school play, and most importantly - threw parties together, often. The parties were always extravagant, alcohol flowing at some rich kid’s house with an excess of unsupervised teenagers milling around.
If you asked either one of them where the mutual contempt started, they wouldn’t be able to pinpoint a specific moment. Sophie liked arguing (and instigating) just for fun while Rafe liked proving his arrogance. It was almost a guarantee at every high school party that at a certain point in the night, you could find them at each other’s throats, arguing over the dumbest thing possible. There was a point that it had evolved from coincidental arguments to seeking each other out to start a debate - no one else could go head to head with them quite like each other could - but they’d never willingly admit that.
___________
It had only taken them two weeks for their first argument in college. She strolled up to the makeshift bar in the sticky, dimly lit basement of Delta Tau Delta, way too confident for a freshman, and tapped on the pledge’s shoulder by the jungle juice to request a drink. Rafe Cameron turned around, wearing his backward baseball cap and signature smirk, and his face quickly morphed into shock.
“Sophie? What the fuck are you doing here?”
She crossed her arms, somehow already pissed off. They stuck to last names only, he knew that. That was their one unspoken rule they kept when talking - or rather, fighting - back home. “Please tell me you’re visiting a friend here, Cameron.”
He grinned and spread his arms wide. “Welcome to my home.”
“Dear god.” She elbowed him aside, serving herself a drink from the Gatorade cooler. “Of course you had to follow me here.”
He gaped, mouth hanging open in shock. “Follow - follow you?! You’re high if you think I would willingly follow you anywhere, Flint.”
“I applied to Ohio State, early decision, forever ago. You had to have known. It was my top school and top scholarship.” She shot back, trying her best to hide a grimace as she took a long sip from the sugary-sweet drink, laced with an ungodly amount of alcohol.
He didn’t miss the subtle brag. “I don’t keep tabs on you. Why didn’t you go to Clemson or something nearby? You know, like everyone else?”
She rolled her eyes. “Because, dumbass, I look horrific in orange and purple.” She proclaimed like it was an obvious statement. “And I wanted to get the fuck out of the Carolinas.”
He grinned, completely unfazed by her insult, and lifted his cup to tap hers. “Cheers to that.”
“Whatever. I don’t want to see you on campus again.” She turned sharply on her heel, leaving with the last word - or so she thought.
“See you around, Soph!” He called out after her, way too smug for her liking. Typically, he would follow her and antagonize her some more, but as a pledge he was assigned to man the jungle juice for the night. He stayed put, only out of obligation - making a silent promise to himself to check up on her another time.
___________
She ran into Rafe again one week after the composite incident. Literally.
In her defense, it was pouring rain. She was just trying to be a good friend and drop her roommate Allie off for class, now that Sophie finally had her own car in junior year, but she was running late as always and in a rush. Sophie swerved around the corner of the business school parking lot just as a big black Range Rover was backing up, and gasped when she heard the tell-tale crunch of metal on metal. Allie winced, clutching her backpack in her lap. “Um…”
“Just go.” Sophie sighed, knowing she had only two minutes to make it to class on time. Allie muttered a quick apology and dashed out of the car as Sophie dropped her head to the steering wheel with a loud “fuck!” She reached over and grabbed her insurance card from the glove box, then got out of the car, ready to grovel.
Rafe slammed his door as he got out to inspect the damage. It wasn’t much, more like a quick bump and a paint scratch than anything, but he was already in a mood and this didn’t help.
“Oh, fuck no.” Sophie cursed lowly to herself as she saw Rafe hunched over by their bumpers. “Great driving, Cameron.” She called out, arms crossed.
He straightened up, walking over to her with an incredulous look. “Uh uh. This is your fucking fault, Flint. Just give me your insurance card and we’ll call it good.”
She rolled her eyes and pushed a now-wet strand of hair out of her face. “Except you crashed into me. Ever look in the parking lot before backing up?”
He scoffed, gesturing her over to look at the cars and waited til she reluctantly followed. “There’s an indent of your front plate in my rear bumper. And there’s about twenty students that probably saw it, want to call in a character witness?”
“I’m not a bad driver.” She huffed. “That’s clearly your fault.” She was lying, of course - anyone with two working eyes could see she had rammed into him. And with anyone else, she’d be extremely apologetic, even patient. But Rafe Cameron irked her to no end.
“Yeah, the time you merged your brother’s car into someone else on the highway our sophomore year of high school shows you’re an excellent driver.” He retorted, then started toward her car, opening the door. “Where’s your card?”
“Hey!” Sophie grabbed his arm, pulling him back. She fished the insurance card out of her pocket and begrudgingly handed it over. “Chill out, it’s right here.” He took out his phone and snapped a picture of the front and the back, then handed it back. He then paused, eyeing her over. She shifted under his intense gaze. “What, Rafe, it’s raining. Hurry up so we can both leave.”
“I thought you weren’t in the business school. Why are you even here?”
“I’m not. I’m dropping off a friend.”
He reached out and swiped a thumb under her eye, and she silently cursed herself for the way she fucking shuddered, like she was desperate or something. He smirked. “Your mascara’s running. Probably ought to fix it.”
With that, he turned back to his car - enjoying her rare moment of silence.

#kindness #collection What's your story of the kindness of strangers? ================================== #1728 "I'm in 11th Grade and a girl. My History teacher is a very beautiful lady and loved by many students. Unfortunately she doesn't teach my class. So I asked to be in her academic selected team *actually I don't really like history huhu* So I got to spend more time with her and hang out several times too :3 Lately I have lots of exams to prepare for so I've been given permission to take extra classes off and don't see her much anymore. Today, on my way to the schoolyard during break time, I passed through the office and saw her looking at me. But I didn't get to say hello as my friends kept pushing forward. As I took a few steps pass the office, she ran out to me from the room, shouting my name !!!! I turned around around to see her opening her arms saying "Let me gimme a hug! I haven't seen you for so long I miss you!"~ I turned really red, and ran to hug her without thinking. I didn't care how everyone was looking at me, I only knew I was very happy, I have never been so happy." #1729 "So I went on a long trip with my bestie that day, but we only realized we forgot our cameras once we got to the place. Our phones were broken and couldn't take photos either, so she insisted on going back home to fetch the cameras. We got home, took our stuff, and our bikes ran out of gas so we visited a gas station near my place. I remembered that I had 50k with me, refilling her bike took 30k so I should only have 20k, yet for some reason when the staff lady asked me how much I wanted to refill, I said "50k". Naturally I was 30k short. I was so embarrassed and was telling her to wait for me to get more money from home, when someone suddenly said "here, take this". I turned around and saw a guy, probably a student, handing me some money. I was so shocked - I just took it and thanked him. He then turned his bike around and just sped away, while I was left dumbfounded. I even turned to my friend, after having paid and everything, "Who was that??? Why was he so nice?" She smiled and said she thought he knew me. That made my whole day. There really are still kind people in this world. I was so shocked I didn't get a good look at him then, I wonder if I'll ever meet him again to return the favour." #1730 I sneaked off to Ho Chi Minh city for a FC meeting last year. The money I put away in my backpocket got dropped somewhere, and my phone was out of battery. So I was wandering around at an intersection, worried, flustered, not knowing what to do, when a man, who probably just got off work, stopped by and asked if I needed a ride. His bike was quite old, his bag worn out. My mind was already a mess, and I was so scared, my face was probably showing all sorts of emotions. I eventually got on his bike after he persuaded me some more, since I honestly didn't have enough time for a ticket back to Vung Tau anyway. He talked to me on the way and gave me a ride to the station, and even got me a ticket home. He even gave me an extra 100k to spend on the way (I refused but he kept insisting). When I got on, he waved goodbye and even cried, like I was his family. I cried too, for some reason. It still warms my heart to think of it now. This world still has lots of kindness to it. #1731 "I have just been to Saigon for a few days, I have so many things to deal with, from getting a flat to getting a job. When I applied for a job in Long An Province, near Route 50, I could barely find a bus to get home in the middle of the countryside. Out of nowhere came an old dark man with thick eyebrows. He rode a Honda toward me and said: “Come on, I will get you home”. Dunno what I was thinking, but I jumped on without hesitation. After a while though, I got scared and thought “How can I live now if I lost a kidney to him after this ride…” so I begged him to stop and drop me off. He scolded me “I saw you applying for a job in that factory so I decide to give you a ride home. I won’t ask for money, my wife takes good care of me already” The old man gave me a ride all the way from Can Giuoc to Fifth District, enough for a lot of chatting between us. I wanted to thank him with some money and a cigarette pack but he refused. Oh Saigon, you melt my heart." #1732 Today I and my grandma visited Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum. Since grandma is old, there was a guard accompanying us. At first, my grandma asked him and got to know he is from Hung Yen. While talking with my grandma, he used a lot of body gestures and I started to think “wow, how can a guard look so much like a child, just so carefree”. When we came to the stairs to go up, I turned back to take my grandma’s hand to help her but instead, I saw the guard already did. Now his actions made me think he was so cute. Later, on the way out, there was someone riding a motorbike on the pavement and while I was finding a way to avoid it, he suddenly dragged me inside. Dear Mr. guard, I was going to say thank you but I missed the chance when you left so quick. If by any chance you read this message, please comment so I could know where to send my gratitude. #1733 It was a terrible day for me, as if it couldn't get any worse! When in Vietnam, I could have called my bestie and ran to her so we could eat some duck eggs to get rid of bad luck. Now I am now halfway across the earth from her, I have to deal with it by myself on days like this. After a football match that evening, I got sad and lonely seeing people going home together with laughter, while I was there by myself, waiting for my host to pick up, when it was 4 degrees outside. I have been waiting for my host for almost an hour, was on the verge of tears when this car pulled over. A man inside shouted out “Hey! Do you need a ride?”, he only left once he knew for sure that I had anybody to drive me home. It was so cold that I could not think straight - I only realized I was laughing like crazy after he had left fot a while. All the sad things in the evening were all gone somehow. #1734 That day I went to get some banh mi for breakfast, and the store was super crowded. Just when I thought I'd be late for class, a lady called out to the store owner: "Make one for this kid first please, needa get to school"; the others in line also stepped aside for me. The best banh mi I've ever had ^^. #1735 "At the end of the year Sai Gon was so crowded. People kept honking. Cars kept taking over motorcycle lanes. Usually it takes me 20 minutes but yesterday it took me an hour to get home with countless times having my bike's tail bumped, being yelled at for suddenly stopping at red lights, being cut.. god it was so tiring. Then in the evening when I was going to buy Hue beef noodle soup and struggling to back my bike because it was heavy, all of a sudden my bike felt so light and I could pull it out easily. I turned around to see an uncle with a big belly helping me - he must have just got back from exercising since he was wearing sport clothes. He looked at me then smiled and left. I don't know if he even heard my thank you. There, one doesn't need to have six packs to be a hero :)) During one's most tiring hour, a kind little gesture is enough to save one's soul, my friends :)" #1736 "That afternoon, I got to Math class and realized I forgot my notebook at home - I even did my homework in it. Afraid that the teacher would check our work I hurriedly asked my class president to excuse me while I went home to get it. While running down I saw the teacher walking up with other teachers. I came up and told her what happened, she suddenly said: "Ẅhere is your house? Don´t go then, the streets are dangerous, what if something happens to you?" I didn´t agree because I had already done my homework in there TvT I told her my house was nearby, and I had my homework in the notebook. But she insisted that I not go, told me to just write the work on another note then hurried me to class :¨>" #1737 "I usually visit a Ministop near my school to buy breakfast. Because my weekly allowance is only 100K, sometimes I'd only buy a can of coffee if there´s a Math class or a 10K rice ball on a normal day. That day, the beautiful short-hair staff said to me while I was buying the 10K rice ball ¨Why don´t you buy more to eat, that´s not enough to fill your stomach. How can you focus on your studies without enough nutrition?" when she said so I really wanted to buy more too but I only had 1K left for the parking ticket." #1738 He and I both work at a cafe. I'm a new employee and have only started here a few weeks ago, while he has worked here for a year. There was once I worked at night shift and hadn't eaten anything for a whole day. I was really tired but my shift was almost done so I tried to finished everything. Suddenly he came from the bar, placed a cup of hot chocolate in front of me and said: "Drink it, otherwise you would have hypo-tension". Then he just stood there to watch while I drank all the hot chocolate, then he took the cup to get more for me. Aaaaaaa my face felt hot, it was so embarrassing!! After that day I suddenly have this passionate love for hot chocolate, may be it is because I like the one who gave me the drink? #Submit https://goo.gl/forms/AseDSsrHPRAXiKnz1 #Tumblr http://makes-my-day.tumblr.com/ #Support https://www.patreon.com/makemyday
