Speaking of Black friendships, did you see Suit Davies Okungbowa latest book? It's about Lucas Sinclair from Stranger Things and how he came to this journey of self discovery through his friendship with the only other Black kid at school.

✨ Meet Mehri Noor ✨ from my Magical Girl Reject story on @pigsiescribe 🖊 Special shout-out to @antarcticlibrary for giving me tips on dyeing dolls' hair 😉 Mehri's background is under the cut if you wanna read it...

Mehri is a middle schooler who suffers from social anxiety and the curveballs that life threw at her. Her parents' marriage started to crumble and her mother filed for a divorce. Mehri and her mom moved to a new apartment and Mehri transferred to a new school. She was later bequeathed with the powers of a ✨magical girl✨ by a plushie familiar named Bobbin. At first, Mehri didn't really know how to use them. As it turned out, her powers were made for healing; not fighting.

She found other magical girls that attended her school, and Mehri hoped to make friends with them, but the relationship was quickly turning toxic. They would boss her around or tease her, (usually calling her "Meh," or making jokes about her weight) and often blame her if they lose a fight against The Bad Guys.

Twisting the knife even more, her father dies from driving while intoxicated, and Mehri's "friends" can't even be sympathetic to that.

Negative feelings begin to corrupt her powers. Instead of healing, Mehri had the power to poison people; physically, mentally, and emotionally 👿

After an intervention from other magical scouts, young and old, Mehri decides to take it easy with being a magical girl (but not give it up) and try to rebuild her life in a positive light ✨

Ash wears a lot of layers so he can give a jacket or sweater to his friends if they get cold.

Especially because his friends don't wear jackets half the time. And I don't know why, but Shadow High seems like it'd be a really cold place. So he has like, ten jackets shoved into his locker and wears at least two at all times so he can give one to his friends.

Is Natasha cold? Jacket. Shanelle is clearly freezing but doesn't wanna admit it? Carefully put a jacket around her shoulders. Luna stormed out of her house in next to nothing and came over? Sweater and hot cocoa. He's the mom friend to the max.

Nicole asks for gummies after a game and Ash produces half a box from his cargo shorts (because yes, he DEFINITELY wears cargo pants and carpenter pants). Natasha wants chocolate and he somehow has a box for them. Luna offhandedly wonders out loud if the school has pudding, and the next day Ash brings her a whole package of it. Where does he get it? Who knows?

I already thought of this some! Poppy could be a fairy with butterfly wings, though I also like the idea of her being a witch. I think Sunny would be a dog and Violet a cat. Skyler would be a mermaid. Ruby would probably be a devil, because fire and red. I have no ideas for Jade, maybe a skeleton because of the one Instagram post? Bella could be the witch that resurrected Jade. Amaya could be an angel or a unicorn (I vote angel because I'm not a huge fan of unicorns, I'm sorry).

I had the MH Diary when I was in high school, the one you could write in and fill out. Between that and reading Clawdeens fashion DIY tips I altered my school uniform clothes all the time. I cut the sleeves off for summer shirts, I splattered paint on khaki pants and ripped holes in another. I would never have done that without MH. Sorry, feeling nostalgic.

I didn't have the diary but I would visit the website constantly to read everything I got my hands on. One of the games was a Ghoulia pinball machine that gave you a recipe to her ghoul juice at the end. I really really wanted to try it so while my mom was asleep I printed a copy out to make later. Only, I accidentally printed two and didn't realize it. My mom found the other one on the printer and got upset, but promised that we would make it one day (we didn't).

Monster High was my lifeline and I don't think I'd be the way I am if it never existed.

Maybe! I have no idea where they're going to go with the greyscale thing because nobody else is questioning it, but Glitch could be a reason for it. I just have no idea here.

Rainbow High should have leaned more into the Halloween classics and given us Poppy dressed as a Pumpkin!

I agree! Imagine Jade painting her up to look like a pumpkin (or probably a jack-o'-lantern) and giving her a green headpiece to wear on top! It was a missed opportunity 😔
