so basically i fucked up and deleted more than half of my procreate files today. on the upside, i found this old wip, which i decided fo finish as a cheer-up. anthe and nev are very much in love and there’s no faerie trickery in that, but this painting of the faerie trickery keats poem is. ridiculously romantic. so. sue me.

welcome to anthenev nation brainrot population us, members of the fruit server and counting. it is just. the anthenev of it all

the thing about anthenev is that. they are both just... they complement each other in so many ways. they're both healers and wanderers who like. genuinely want to make the world better!!! and they share this fear of being too much, i think, but they treat that fear in different ways; nev handles it with her passivity and her de-escalation, and anthe handles it by just making sure people who will reject her do reject her right off the bat. and it's like... okay, they find themselves in this chaotic world of gods and wizards and divine interventions, and they just... like, they connect!

im not fully coherent rn but. like. okay, so they're in this together. they lose friends, they talk about faith--anthe's god being distant and chaotic, nev's being corporeal and stable--and they talk about feelings--nev's hidden, anthe's loudloudloud--and they have this gentle fall. they visit temples, they explore, they make each other laugh. in a party that's so often at odds with each other, they just get along so wonderfully. i don't know when nev realized that the feelings were. feelings. but anthe realized when they went to the teahouse in uthodurn. it was just a sweet moment during a really difficult time in anthe's life. just. yeah. that's when she decided to do the dream, too. that was like, oh, i'm in love with this person, and i want her to be happy, so let's find out how to do that.

anthe loses her goal, her quest, and her god, and she doesn't know what else to do in the middle of the night without the magic that keeps her safe but go to nev, because nev would understand. no one else would even come close to understanding. (i considered nol, but... that would've been unhealthy for both parties. lol)

and then anthe dies.

and then anthe realizes she wants to live. and nev brings her back, and they find god together, and anthe is so caught up in the everything that she kisses nev then and there, and just. yeah. and then. i mean. the empire happened. but now. they're on the coast, and they spent a night under the stars, and things are looking a little bit brighter.

more dnd art. because this is a week of forehead kisses in games, i suppose. @quillith and i are dying of the inherent awkwardness of pc romance but also these two are so very sweet like.

what if i died via worm and it tried to burrow with my corpse but you used the sentinel feat to stop it from moving, and then you found my corpse in the worm's corpse and then you revivified me and used all of your lay on hands pool to heal me and your patron offered to take me on as her cleric and my cat revealed himself to be a sign from Her and then i kissed you and then you kissed me on the forehead. and we were both girls! 😳

what is their goal right now?

keep nev and vic safe. ziggy too, but she's less sure of his permanence with his current mentality and health. so. keep nev and vic safe. bluster says Destroy The Government Of The Dwendalian Empire, but like, she knows that's not feasible, safe, or healthy for her own recovery. she knows. she's 20 wis, and she's not stupid. she just wants to keep her friends safe.

who would they kill? who would they kill for?

in spite of that, if you put her alone in a room with arcanist beck. lol. as many inflict wounds as it takes to get her down to 10 and then a divine word. and she would kill for the party, of course, and for--i know, stop booing, he's literally just a guy--kir.

who would they save? who would they be saved by?

she wants to save everybody. nev saved her.

which party member do they worry for?

all. mostly nev.

what do they need to learn?

that she doesn't need to try and force people away, because it's not inevitable.

what was the best moment of their life?

here's 3: casting her first healing spell. kissing nev the first time. sitting on the beach, after everything, ready to maybe try and heal herself.
