❛  i’m so sorry.  ❜ for prim zeke 😏😏😏

He’s been watching her a while, too long for his liking. But it’s been difficult to approach her without making his stalking glaringly obvious since she tends to avoid the more busy areas around town. She hasn’t noticed him, yet anyway, and he’d very much like to keep it that way but time is running out and his patience is wearing thin. Takes the fun out of it when he can’t toy with his prey a bit. 

She’s been sitting by the cafe – in the outside dining area – for a while now, sipping on her coffee and scrolling through his phone. It’s nearly dusk and the place must be closing soon so he unlocks the door to his truck, shifting in his place in an attempt to stave his anticipation. She’s new so this should be easy. Bump into her and apologize, let his gaze and hand on her shoulder linger a bit while she falls in love at first sight (they always do), make conversation, lie about being new too, offer to explore town a bit together, bring out the fake sob story, and he has her. It’s always worked with the ones dumb enough to fall for it and he’s feeling lucky today. 

He places his hand around the door handle when the barista comes around to give her the check. He opens the door as quietly as he can manage before hopping out of his truck, toying a bit with his hair in the mirror before heading down the street. He shoves his hands in the pockets of his jacket and exhales a sigh, picking up his pace a bit when he sees her slinging her purse around her shoulder and standing up. Luckily, she pauses for a moment, fishing around for her wallet and leaving some money on the table for a tip. She turns on her heel to walk out of the wrought iron fence. She hasn’t noticed him yet which he thanks his lucky stars for as he braces himself a bit for impact. 

She gasps and he does too as his larger frame crashes into her, nearly knocking her off balance but Zeke catches her before she can fall. She presses her hands into his shoulders for purchase, curling her fists into the thick denim of his jacket. He loosens his grip on her and relaxes a bit before stepping back. 

“I’m so sorry about that! Guess I wasn’t paying attention.” 

She’s even more gorgeous up close, the falling sun illuminating her eyes into a golden brown and he sees the freckles dusting her features that he’d never noticed before, nor had he noticed the small scar marring her lips. He ignores the slight ache in his chest and flashes her a warm smile, trying to make sure it reaches his eyes. She leans back and brushes her hair out of her face, tucking the orange strands behind her ear. She smiles at him as she takes in his features, though he’s not sure if it’s just to be polite or not. He hopes it’s genuine. He finds it is when she stares at him for just a bit too long. She quickly looks away in embarrassment when he tilts his head a bit, waiting for her reply. 

“Oh, no worries! Guess I wasn’t either. Um,” She pauses for a moment, trying to figure out what to say next lest it become awkward between them. “I’m Primrose. What about you?” 

She backs up a bit further but sticks out her hand for him to shake. He accepts and notes how soft her skin is and how well her hand fits in his. 

“Pretty name, it suits you. Name’s Zeke, nice to meet you.” He releases her hand, though makes sure to slide his fingers across hers before he shoves it back into his pocket, ignoring the way the touch made his breath hitch. “Say, I haven’t seen you around here before. You new?”  

Fuck. 

Fuck. 

That’s not what he’s supposed to say but the words came out like vomit. There has to be something up with her, he’s never fucked this up before. He feels his palms sweat a bit when her expression turns to one of slight confusion when she senses his distress. But she shakes it off and answers his question anyway.  

“Uh, yeah. Moved here not too long ago. You been here long?” 

He releases a bit of tension at the question, cursing himself for the overreaction. “Oh, not really. Kinda a newbie too, still trying to find some friends. I could, uh, show you around, maybe?” 

She bites her lip, smiling a bit as she looks away from him. “Mayyyybe another time. Would rather get to know you a bit before I walk around alone with some strange guy I just met.” 

Zeke snorts at that, an unexpected reaction but it works in his favor, he thinks. “Strange, huh?” 

“Maybe just awkward then,” She shoots him a wink. “I saw you in your truck a bit before I was done here.” 

His eyes widen at that, looking away from her as he scrambles for an excuse. Fuck, he should’ve been more careful. He’ll have to cut this short then. He sighs a bit, checking his back pocket for his knife. It won’t be easy out in the open but he can manage dragging her to his truck. He’s done it before. 

“Were you just too scared to come to talk to me or something?” She asks with a smile, a mischievous glint in her brown eyes. 

He freezes at that before forcing a smile of his own, hanging his head and letting out a breathy chuckle. “Yeah, guess I was. Didn’t mean to be a creep, sorry about that.” 

She laughs a bit too, though he doesn’t miss the slight tension in her expression. He definitely fucked this up. 

She looks down, kicking her feet a bit, seemingly contemplating something. “I could give you my number if you promise you’re not a creepy murderer?” 

You have nooo idea, dollface.

“And if I am?” He asks, matching her amused expression. 

“I could think of worse ways to die,” She replies before fishing around her purse and pulling out a sharpie. “Buuut hopefully, I won’t regret this.” 

She uncaps the marker before grabbing his hand, writing down the seven numbers just below his thumb. He notes the small heart she leaves at the end before dropping his hand. She smiles at him once again as she drops the marker back in her purse, he notes the bottle of pepper spray amongst the many other items in the bag when she opens it. Smart girl. How unfortunate for him. 

“See ya around, Zeke.” She says before turning on her heel and walking down the street. 

He stares at her for a moment. He could easily follow her home and take her from there, though that’d ruin half his fun. Plus, he has time, more time than he previously thought. He’d be willing to entertain a few dates, or at least until she starts to entertain the thought of a relationship, or maybe even fall in love with him, he’ll have to wait and see. Plus, the betrayal in their eyes is always worth it in the end. He wonders how pretty she’d look when she cries and begs for mercy, what her screams would sound like, how long it’d take to break her… Not the time. He sucks in a shaky breath, calming himself before bringing up his hand and putting her number in his contacts.

1. Why do you like or dislike this character? i like so MUCH about this boy!!!!!!!

i love how ridiculously hopeless and stubborn he is at the beginning. he hardly even cares that belle is there at first, she’s more a nuisance than anything.

i love that first moment when you see how truly scared he really is. after he sees belle in the mirror, the reflection returns to a regular mirror and he sees himself, sees the monster that he still is, and you just see how scared he is!!! he looks at the rose and he’s just!!! aahhh!!🥺🥺🥺 he wants to be freed, it’s just so hard for him to Try And Change.

i love how nerdy he is :3 like i just said this in a recent post but GOSH making him a pretentious asshole about books was just the most incredible thing the live action writers did to improve him. i LOVE how much of a nerd he is, and how suppressed it’s been his whole life!! i mean i don’t love that for him but it makes for a compelling character!! he’s been forced into such a specific box all his life and belle is the first person to be like “hey what if you just like. existed how you wanted to. i do it and it’s kinda fun :3” and he’s like “but everyone ridicules and bullies you” and she’s like “yeah, but i’m free.” (i don’t think they have this dialogue i think this is just like. the vibes exchanged between them. the sort of revelation that belle’s presence gives adam. anyway) i love the nerd boy

i love how DEEPLY he feels his emotions. like gosh when he’s sad, HE IS SAD. when he’s happy, HES SO HAPPY. he’s just so extreme all the time and i love it. especially with the way he loves!!! he’s so protective and worries so much about belle (and later their children) because he just loves them so so much. he can’t fathom anything happening to them. they’re his whole world 😭 he’s just… such a sweetheart🤧

Least favorite canon thing about this character? i am wracking my brain on this one bro. i actually saved it to answer last and i Still have nothing. i’m a canon girlie!! i love canon!!! canon is beloved to me!!! like sure it sucks that his mother died when he was a child?? or sucks that it’s very implied that his father was cruel and probably abused him?? but i still wouldn’t say those are least favorite because they make up who adam is! scars and all! demons and all! he’s a very sad and damaged little guy and he needs lots of love and hugs and kisses (enter: belle) but i don’t think there’s anything that is least favorite ?? i do always find his little Nest™️ in the corner of his room a little like… yikes 😬 but it also equally makes sense that he stopped sleeping in his own bed. the way his body is as a beast it probably Was more comfortable to sleep curled up on the floor 🤷‍♀️ so again it’s like!!! there’s a reason for everything!!! i don’t know the karma taylor swift lyrics but that’s me with canon. canon is my boyfriend, etc. etc.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise? HOW MUCH FUCKING TIME DO YOU HAVE. the fandom does two very specific things that makes me want to grab my own torch and pitchfork and burn the place to the GROUND. the charges against the “fandom”:

refusing to call him by his name

wishing he’d remain a beast

*bangs gavel* the sentence? jail for one thousand years.

no but seriously why is everyone so stupid about my boy, hm? why is it so difficult to understand. i realize they don’t say his actual name in the movies, but disney has very much confirmed that adam his name. like why ? ? don’t you want him to have ? ? a name ? ? oh i’m so glad you asked. it stems to the second charge. they far prefer him to remain a beast (in the form that he hates, in the form he was punished to be in, in the form that prevents him from ever being human again, ever truly getting a chance at a normal life where he can be a good man) people prefer him to remain a beast and therefore DENY him his humanity (you guys remember he was born a human, right? you know this isn’t shrek, correct? okay just checking) and force him to be a monster.

LOOK. does belle make him comfortable, make him feel loved, make him see that beauty is found within? yes ! of course ! but no matter how comfortable belle makes him feel in his skin, this is Not The Form He Would Ever Choose To Remain In. i think people genuinely forget he was born a human. like for real i think that’s the main issue. they think we’re watching shrek. guys it’s not shrek. he’s a human being trapped in a body that isn’t his. i’ve seen a post by a trans person who connected with him because he was like “yeah being in a body that doesn’t feel like your own fucking sucks!!! i’m glad he got to be freed and be himself!!!” anyway, don’t know why everyone fails to understand such a simple concept. but i’m done here. WHEW. constantly angers me. i’ve lost count of the amount of people i’ve blocked for making some dumbass comment about favoring him in beast form or some shit. it’s why i don’t even really consider myself in the fandom because the “fandom” is filled with lunatics for some reason. ANYWAY !!!!!! moving on!

What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot? okay in modern au i think he’s absolute rubbish at emojis. belle uses them constantly but adam never does, besides the occasional classic red heart ❤️ when he’s feeling particularly affectionate while texting belle or their kiddos. in terms of symbols and such, hmm. someday i’d really love to design his family crest. i also headcanon that maurice designs their OWN family crest that combines his and adam’s family crests. i’d love to design all these crests!!!! but anyway. i think adam is very cat-coded, so i think there’d be a big cat somewhere on the crest, like a lion. i think his wax seal stamp is just a really fancy AB (Adam de Beaumont) with some swirly flair around it. when i think of adam i think of books and maps and telescopes and the moon and cherry blossoms and clothes, he loves his clothes :3

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character? i don’t really think i have a least favorite ship! like, in my mind, you either follow canon and ship him with belle, his true love, his beloved darling, OR you deviate from canon and have some fun shipping him with others! i’ve always been a canon ship kind of girlie so while i don’t Entirely understand shipping him with others, it’s also like, you do you 🤝 i don’t particularly hate any other adam ships, they’re just not my cup of tea! but i get it like, he’s a cool character to ship with. i like dabbling in his past, pre-canon relationships every now and then myself. and that’s fun because he’s a different sort of man than he is with belle, but you can still see the little nuggets of true adam even in the early days. anyway i’m not the shipping police i’m just here for my blorbos. i care way more that we see eye-to-eye on the Treatment of adam, rather than who he’s paired with.

thank youuuuu!! sorry, I'm incapable of being concise about my wee lad.

3. Did they have a good childhood? What are fond memories they have of it? What’s a bad memory?

emrys had one of those childhoods where you're sure it was normal and fine and not at all difficult, and then you tell someone about it and they're like "what the fuck." unfortunately, her best beloved friend is Shadowheart, who would also be like "oh yeah. the torments. we had those too." except Shadowheart's torments also involved real human torture and also shadowheart doesn't remember 99.9% of it. anyways. she was sent to be raised in a monastery by tyrran priests; she was a younger daughter, & a difficult one at that. not that they didn't love her, it was simply another way of ensuring she had a path in life and hopefully would level her out. there, she had an extremely strict upbringing; had higher education in law, history, language, literature, learned many useful skills including swordfighting, yes, but also. again, the trials. however she DID become extremely disciplined and efficient and resilient for it, which she considers to be a good thing, even if she doesn't even know where to begin unwrapping where the religious guilt, actual guilt, and intricate complexes due to being raised by strict, righteous believers of Good and Evil, Right and Wrong, Justice At All Costs, and all that. she found a lot of fun and joy in learning to fight, learning to be useful, and was intended to be a cleric before The Paladin Oath Swearing and all that. most of her fond memories are associated with when she was allowed to visit her village, little town folk celebrations, OR when she was on her own, exploring, reading, hiding from chores. she also got competitive, so moments when she impressed her Very Difficult to Please priest guardians she also holds close to her heart.

9. Do animals like them? Do they get on well with animals?

she's carrying her fully grown owlbear infant son in her arms right now actually-- yeah, she loves animals, she tends to get on well with them, tends to be better liked by them than Real Actual People, who find her usually abrasive or gruff or generally unapproachable. she's that guy who you turn around and she's pspspspspsps'ing at every random cat and dog she passes and then stands up, pretends she wasn't doing that, walks away really fast.

38. What do they admire in others? What talents do they wish they had?

She admires traits that swing in some WILD directions. on the surface, she really admires others who are strong-willed, adherent to a cause or a belief (even to their own detriment; she likes loyalty to a fault & she's guilty of it too.) dame aylin types THRILL her and she wants to Be Dame Aylin. she appreciates people who can continue to have hope in dark hours, and persevere. and COMPETENCY. above all she admires COMPETENCY.

but on the other side of things, she has a soft spot and an understanding for those who aren't really malicious but are bitey, survivalists, people who can choose to live for themselves. deep down she's charmed by being a bit of a schemer, being sly enough to win, because she's so not that that it's a bit fun to watch in progress, but she'd literally Never admit this because it's not very Good Righteous Knight of her. she plays fair at all times and she needs people in her life who know how to Scheme and Cheat and Lie because SOMETIMES. it's for the greater good. and sometimes it's just funny! but she would never admit that.

I think what makes it harder is that I'm not actually diagnosed with anything, so everyone, me included sometimes, thinks I'm faking it or overreacting. My doctor basically implied I was being lazy yesterday, and so did my mum. I think it would be easier if I was diagnosed with Something (I Know I have autism and chronic fatigue + probably other things at this point like my brain and body are lagging af--but no doctor has ever listened to me, and well i'm a pushover and don't know how to insist)

Sooo from my ask I said that I wanted to manifest my desired face but.. that was a while ago and I decided to drop that (or not..?) Even though in that ask I seemed to have a perfect self concept,,, I still spiraled a while ago from the overconsumption of posts and also because mentally I just wasn’t feeling right. However, I decided to take a week of break. (I basically just tried to not go on tumblr as much and take some time off for my mental health)

When I finally felt okay, I just decided to manifest stuff for fun and I manifested food, a cute small pink bag (that was in my pinterest board 😎 (I didn’t know it was there tbh it was more like a set it and forget it kind of thing) and also i got a smaller, cuter, more v shaped lower jaw !

(But i am NOT saying that if you’re like mentally not there you CANT manifest, it’s just that I took that break to go out a little and live a little and forget about manifesting most of the time)
