Growing up we didnt have cable, but one of the local channels had a cartoon block and one of the shows in it was called "Motion on Mount Commotion", and the main characters looked like this

(Sorry for the small pic, I had to look everywhere to find this, and it was the only one I could get)

Well, as I got older I sorta forgot about it but then one day I saw a screenshot of gravity falls on tumblr and was like "wait a minute"

Turns out Motion on Mount Commotion was some kind of weird rip off that managed to fly under disney's radar. I think because it was just a local show.

But anyway, I like gravity falls, but MoMC came first to me and will always have a weird special place in my heart

dane absolutely. dane is one of my few ocs whos actually Into this stuff & will deliberately push his stomach to its absolute limit, & his tummy can get pretty solid

irene has a lot more belly fat so her belly doesnt really ever get hard but if you press in after a big meal you can feel how taut her stomach is underneath

so i am a bit torn... this one that i made for benanti's birthday, and then this one i made because emotions, tend to tie for first repeatedly in my mind.

for support font, big fan of tw cen mt, avenir, north, and metropolis. for bigger font, i love lihataja is my fave script font, but i used qanoar for something recently and i love it.

24 - What is something that you’re wanting to learn right now?

i would love to learn rotoscope. i mostly just tend to download after effects, get mad, delete, repeat every other month. but it's so cool.

25 - What would you like to see others learn how to do?

hm... i don't know if there's anything i want people to learn to do. but i do hope to see more people use drop shadow or something like that to make typography stand out. sometimes the fonts get lost otherwise (like i neglected to do in this set and i still kick myself for it)

21/overhyped part of canon?

ASK ME SOMETHING!

I'm going to say the "soulmate route" aspect of it. To be fair, I'm not very big on the idea of soulmates—or at least, not one singular romantic soulmate. I think having the option of who Lloyd can grow closest to (and change, and learn from) is pretty neat for gameplay purposes (and replayability), but the terminology of "soulmate" doesn't work for me for story reasons.

I like to imagine that, at least to some degree, every route is equally canon—not in the sense that Lloyd will fall in love with every option, or even that he can fall in love with every option, but that Lloyd can impact every person the soulmate routes allow simultaneously (the only exception here being the Zelos/Kratos split). Like why can't he get the snow bunny from Colette and the orb from Zelos?

(Now I just need a fic where everyone gets to give Lloyd an item and it's like 500 cutscenes in a row in Flanoir and Lloyd is so tired but he doesn't want to be rude. Then he gets shot later in the game and the sheer amount of tokens of friendship/love are what save him, not just one singular item lmao.)

For what it's worth, I do like the idea that all of these people are Lloyd's "soulmates" and that their experiences and connections will stay with them for the rest of their lives, but letting "soulmate" skew almost purely romantic in the fandom for nearly two decades has grown tiresome and limiting.

Characters who are not often or ever paired romantically with Lloyd have really good things to say in their "soulmate route" and there's absolutely no reason these conversations can't happen alongside all of the others. A talented writer could weave literally every single one into a novelization (not it!) but the fandom-at-large glues themselves to what is essentially just a gameplay mechanic as Word of God and that way of seeing things is just not for me.

🕳️ A fic that made you lose track of time

a great series where daniel and armand come together as he puts the finishing touches on his book - this installment in particular i started when there were several chapters and so had more of a binge-reading experience. in particular, i love the passages of daniel's writing that were included - anytime you show the writing of a character who's supposed to be an acclaimed writer it's a bit of a risk, but it worked really well for me and made me think a lot about daniel's voice as a journalist.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Besides him providing characterization moments for Darius, I like Eber's design and his monster form, i know that if i watched it as a kid i would've been obsessed with a character who is connected to animals, has a 'scary' animal form yet is a good guy.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I don't think i've seen anything that i outright despise. A minor pet peeve instead - i think sometimes in fanon Eber seems very happy to allow others to pet wild beasts, but i like to imagine that he would be more on the 'don't unnecessary disturb wildlife' side (but on the other hand this is a cartoon where animals are more intelligent and beastkeepers can communicate with them).

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

So far i didn't write anything that was focused on Eber, but i enjoy adding little mentions of them forming connections with other chracters, like with the BATTs, and small characterization moments like him being proud of his role in the new goverment. I don't think there is anything i don't like when writing Eber specifically, but inventing names for their ratworms was hard.

Made up fic title: Cycle 53

time loop! cody (sans chip, because I find him SO much more interesting when there's no evil mind control device making him do things) is stuck reliving the day before, during, and after Utaupau. If he or Obi-Wan dies, he gets tossed back to the beginning, but! while getting tossed back! he sees how the galaxy goes on after. he doesn't know why he's stuck (well, force BS, but that's all he can guess) or how to get out, but he quickly realizes that he's going to need Obi-Wan's help, and realizes much more slowly not just that they might have to (*gasp of horror*) work together, but that maybe he doesn't want to kill Obi-Wan.

I think it would be a really interesting way to explore a troubled clone/jedi dynamic, where I could really get into the messed up ethical nature of their relationship and start poking at questions about the similarities and differences between state-sponsored clean-looking violence vs brutal unforgiveable violence with a cause, as well as looking at the nature of violence when violence is all you know—i.e. what does it mean to destroy when destruction is a way of life to you? what does it mean to kill and kill and kill when you've never really had an emotional stake in it? what does it mean that the violence done to you is in some ways so similar to the violence that you enact? and how do the bonds you've formed with the people who've survived with you change when you're forced to confront the fact that you are hurting, and that maybe you want to stop?

On Cycle 52, Cody and Obi-Wan escape together into the wilds of the universe to live a quiet, peaceful life. Luke and Leia die with Padmé, Vader and Sidious reign, and Cody convinces Obi-Wan to turn a blind eye to the terrible injustices going on around them. When they're found about ten years into the Empire, he's killed—but he manages to touch the Force enough to go back in time for one last chance. This time, he wakes up and he knows—he shouldn't have taken Obi-Wan and run. The two of them are able to help people in unique ways—are capable by their natures, their abilities, and their positions of doing so much good—and Cody recognizes that he's the sort of person now who believes that he needs to be fighting back. He also recognizes that that means that he and Obi-Wan don't get a peaceful life together—at least not in a world where he is who he wants to be.

On Cycle 53, canon happens. Cody misses on purposes, and disappears into the ranks of the Empire to try to destabilize it from within.

I rarely actually play the game so take my answers with a grain of salt but this should be fun!

1. What’s your favourite sims death? Cowplant, hands down

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? For the longest time I was strictly Maxis Match but recently I've been way more Maxis Mix and I'm loving it

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nah I let it happen!

4. Do you use move objects? Religiously, I cannot build without it. Routing be damned!

5. Favorite mod? BBB, I cannot play this game without it. I also get ornery if I don't have UI cheats extension and more CAS columns.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I was on the Sims 4 bandwagon from day 1, so Outdoor Retreat.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Living. You've got build, buy, and live, at least that's how my brain rationalizes it.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? I'm obsessed with all of my rpg oc sims (Ariss, Katya, Nat, Kai, Calista, etc), but probably my favorite sim-sim, well that's hard too. I really love my Simeon Silversweater makeover, and Rhiannon Reinhardt is prob my fave original sim.

9. Have you made a simself? I have! I've made myself, my husband and our dog (: One day I'll have to render them and post pics, I'm sure they all need an update now.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Clumsy, creative, & paranoid lmao

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Idk prob black or dark brown, so many of the other swatches look unnatural to me. I like the fun colors though, esp the lighter blue/cyan-y swatch.

12. Favorite EA hair? In terms of design, I really liked the braids that came with RoM and the really cool swatches, but I rarely ever use that hair.

13. Favorite life stage? YA cause it's the only one with adequate gameplay oops lmfao

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? BUILDER I rarely play the game at all but if I am I'm probably building. It seems every time I actually get into gameplay (which is rare in itself) something (a patch) comes along and breaks everything to the point where I can't anymore and I lose love for it all over again.

15. Are you a CC creator? I am! But only barely haha. I've made a few recolors and some art, but nothing from scratch YET. Soon hopefully

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I do! I'm a moderator of @cozyacres's Cozy Cave discord server and I LOVE out little community there! I've also got so many wonderful mutuals here I love you all so much.

17. What’s your favorite game? Sims 3 was fantastic and if I remembered more of it I'd probably say 3, but I got really invested in the community for 4 and it does hold a special place in my heart even if it's deeply flawed. So, 4.

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? I have an account but I haven't posted anything yet! I'd like to one day post speed builds and speed renders, I just need to figure out my recording process (I tab out of what I'm doing so often that I feel like the editing would take a million years for me to remove all of my discord chats lmfao)

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? I feel like my actual sims style hasn't changed too much, except that I've incorporated a lot more maxis mix/alpha into my style, but that's mostly for rendering and not actual gameplay.

24. How do you edit your pictures? I'm lucky enough to mooch off my dad's photoshop license. For renders and screenshots alike, I'll edit the brightness, contrast, levels and curves and then use a collection of PS actions/tweaking/blur/vignettes etc as necessary to get the effect I want.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? It's really hard to say... I've been excited for each one of them then disappointed in each one of them lmfao what a mood. I gotta say I was really pleasantly surprised by Werewolves, and HSY exceeded my expectations, even though both had their fair share of disappointments. I don't think I really have a favorite overall though (which is def a side effect of... not actually playing the game, lmao). But those two actually got me playing the game and that's saying something.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Oops I own them all so, whatever comes next that strikes my fancy. Idk how I feel about the horse rumors though... we'll see if it's actually good or just another disappointment.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

So far nobody has personally come into my house and annoyed me, and I hope it stays that way. In fact, I've been pleasantly surprised by how even rival ship folks have been very nice and pleasant to talk to. It probably helps that there's only like 10 active people in this fandom, but it has gone a long way in keeping me feeling positive that even some rival shippers are really out there agreeing with me about things and engaging in fun discussions with me. 💙

I genuinely think every rival ship should be able to talk about their absolute faves without being dumb about it. I understand that sometimes interpretations of characters can get in the way a bit, but this has been my experience in the fandom so far and I love it:

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

You already said Dirk so I'll say Harley here. Or Harley, Aisha, and Linar as a group, even. I kind of want to know more about them, and I just love that while Harley isn't trusted in Asgard, he's also not actively being hurt. I also really wonder if Aisha was chosen for the ritual because of her and Linar's friendship with Harley, but I'd have to replay the game again to see if I can find hints of that.

As to why people should like them... I feel like they embody the Sylvaranti Everyman, and the ideal situation for a half-elf in Sylvarant. The life Harley lives is more or less all Raine and Genis could have ever hoped for but did not find despite years of looking for it, and UGHHHH there's just something SO GOOD about how EASILY Harley realizes they're lying and helps them cover it up. He gets it. I need more Harley information. How old is this guy. What has he been through.

Even though Raine more or less instantly drop kicks him into oblivion for being stupid and he's snarky as hell, he doesn't betray his own. I just really like him and how kind he and Linar and Aisha are to the group.

Lastly, the game has quite a few parallels with siblings going on (Raine and Genis, Zelos and Seles, Martel and Mithos, Presea and Alicia) but Linar and Aisha are rarely remembered. The fact that the group steps in so that they aren't separated by death is so good.

I've answered this one already and it's very hard to pick a secondary option because I don't think there are a lot of canon things that are overhyped, at least not in a "fandom-wide" sense.

this whole series is great, but i love this fic particularly because of how much it fleshes out the complicated family dynamics with daniel's daughter and having to imagine your father as a completely different person right at the end of his life. zoe and megan are canon to my heart

this author has written a lot of great fics but i picked this one specifically because the scene where armand locks daniel out because of a fight and so daniel punches his way through a glass door to get in which armand finds so romantic they make up is just like. a perfection encapsulation of how insane they are during the devil's minion era with their codependent behavior.

The ritual meal. The swoon bloomed at the site of the bite mark, liquid ease radiating out. Louis sighed in relief.

claudia sharing blood with her parents... exploring vampire blood sharing fitting into their family dynamic and lestat in particular... well-written claudia pov fics about the family dynamic are like manna from heaven to me. the last section is just chef's kiss.
